The Solar Eclipse of February 17, 2026 at 29° Aquarius

A feisty, rebellious unpredictable, shocking eclipse

2/14/20264 min read

An annular solar eclipse, often called a ring of fire, occurs on February 17,
2026. It will be visible primarily in remote parts of Antarctica and the
Southern Ocean, with a partial eclipse visible from the southern tips of
Chile and Argentina and from southern Africa.

Astrologically, this eclipse lands at the final degree of Aquarius, a threshold
degree that carries a last-chapter quality. Solar eclipses act like portals and
catalysts for new beginnings, often arriving through disruption. Unlike lunar eclipses, which tend to work through emotions and inner awareness, solar eclipses bring tangible shifts in systems, leadership, and collective
direction. The period from this solar eclipse to the lunar eclipse of March 3
forms an eclipse window, a peak-intensity corridor when events accelerate
and revelations surface. Expect volatility that feels fated rather than
random, destabilizing truths that free energy trapped in complacent
systems, and the beginning of a longer arc of change whose consequences
unfold over months and sometimes years.

Eclipses in Aquarius spark breakthroughs in perspective, technology,
community, and future vision. This one may reset long-term plans or
abruptly shift your role within networks in ways that feel sudden but
clarifying. Because it occurs at 29° Aquarius, this eclipse carries a
completion signature. It invites the release of outdated allegiances, the
loosening of rigid thinking, and the letting go of detached ways of living that no longer match who you are becoming. The next evolutionary step flows into Pisces, inviting the integration of intuition, compassion, imagination, and spiritual sensitivity. Aquarius is also the court jester, the truth-teller with license to speak what others will not. Expect truth-tellers to emerge in thecoming months.

ASPECTS TO THIS ECLIPSE

This eclipse forms a square to Uranus, the modern ruler of Aquarius,
intensifying themes of disruption, awakening, sudden reversals, and
rebellion against entrenched patterns. Uranus in Taurus points to shocks
and breakthroughs around finances and resources, land and food systems,
material security, and technology reshaping value and work. The ground
shifts, and what felt solid asks to be re-imagined.

Ancient astrologers held eclipses in awe and fear. They believed eclipses
could signal that the mighty will fall. The Sun symbolized kingship and
authority, and eclipses were thought to end eras and begin new ones, the
births and deaths of power structures. Eclipse energy can remain active for
up to six months and often stirs a month before the exact date. Think of
eclipses as domino starters: the first tile tips and the full pattern will reveal
itself over time.

Let’s look at how this eclipse may manifest in our world. Astrology
describes symbolic energies and timing rather than certainties. In the
collective field, this eclipse falls on President Trump’s descendant at 29°
Aquarius, opposing his ascendant at 29° Leo and opposing his Mars at 26
Leo in the twelfth house of self-undoing. This configuration emphasizes
polarity between leader and public, open opponents, and conflicts that can
surface through relationships and public response.

President Trump has escaped challenging aspects to his birth chart before.
I think this is because he was born with a very lucky chart. Jupiter, the
great protector, was stationary in the sky on the day he was born. That
makes him the “child of Jupiter.” Jupiter says I will make you king, bring
you good fortune, and protect you. In addition, his ascendant is on the King
Star of Regulus at 29 degrees of Leo. Also, he was born on a Lunar
Eclipse. A lunar eclipse is a Full Moon when the Sun and Moon are both
visible in the sky. That creates a mirror in his personality, making him very
easy to project upon. We see him as a savior or a demon. But the mirror is
really reflecting back on us.

But now, the king star, Regulus has now moved into Virgo and transiting
Jupiter is now in his 12 th house of self-undoing. Does that mean Jupiter is
withdrawing his protection? I don’t know.
This eclipse also touches J. D. Vance’s descendant at 27° Aquarius. While
both leaders share Leo rising, and may be opposed by the people, the
eclipse does not oppose Vance’s Mars, indicating a comparatively less
dangerous time for him.

The eclipse also falls on the United States Moon in Aquarius, symbolically
stirring the emotions of the people, with heightened sensitivity around
equality, rights, and the future of community. The U.S. Moon speaks to
homeland, land, and collective belonging. In the U.S. chart, this eclipse falls
in the third house of information and technology. Expect information
overload, accelerated narratives, and pivotal developments in artificial
intelligence, media, and communications. Solar eclipses illuminate dark
corners, and stories long buried seek daylight. The ongoing reckoning
around shadowed power structures is not finished.

PERSONAL EFFECTS OF THIS ECLIPSE

On a personal level, solar eclipses act like a spotlight, illuminating what is
hidden and what is ripe for renewal. They often wake us up to areas of life
we have been avoiding, especially in the house where the eclipse lands in
your chart. This eclipse echoes the solar eclipse of February 17, 2007.
Reflect on what was unfolding for you then, as similar themes may now
return. You may feel nudged, or shoved, off the status quo. Eclipses
redirect life paths.

If your birthday falls near an eclipse, expect meaningful developments over
the coming months. This eclipse especially activates 27° Aquarius through
1° Pisces. Check your chart to see which house these degrees occupy--
they will show you where you might experience endings and new beginnings.
