April 2023 Forecast

We had four major planets change signs last month.  Saturn went into Pisces, Venus entered Taurus, Pluto entered Aquarius and Mars went into Cancer.  This gives us a totally new landscape.  We will start to see how these new energies will unfold this month as other planets start to aspect these new positions.

The beginning of April is fairly quiet, but the energy is slowly leading to a Major Total Eclipse on the 20^th.  The eclipse will be at 29 degrees of Aries in a square to Pluto.   When an eclipse aspects a planet, it causes that planet to become damaged and not able to operate at its full strength.  For Pluto that is a good thing. The reason that this is a major eclipse for the U.S. is that it is in a conjunction with President Biden’s moon and squares the USA's Pluto. Also, Mars the ruler of the eclipse is on the U.S. Sun.  This portends some sort of crisis.  I will take a stab at interpreting this in my eclipse report coming up soon.

Mercury is moving retrograde on the 21^st at 14 Taurus, which will remain in Taurus until it ends on May 14.  This will affect those of you born during the last week of April, July, October, January, and the 1^st week of Feb, May, August, and November.

 

Dates to Watch:

Apr 3 – Mercury enters Taurus and stays until June 11. Mercury is the planet of intellect and communication, but in Taurus, he becomes slow, plotting, and methodical.  He wants to talk about practical issues, such as the price of housing, farms, food production, and banking.  Watch the news about these items during Mercury in Taurus.

Mercury Square Pluto at 0 degrees of Taurus/Aquarius. This is the first aspect to Pluto since he entered Aquarius.   Watch for news relating to Pluto in Aquarius on such subjects as AI. You know it’s just a matter of time before she gets smarter than we are. Some information can come in that helps us understand what Pluto in Aquarius will bring us for the next 20 years.  On this aspect, you could forcefully persuade others to your way of thinking. And you could become fanatical about your ideas. You want to dig into information to find what is hidden.

April 6 – Full Moon at 16 degrees of Libra. This Full Moon has the Sun in aspect to Jupiter. He rules long-distance travel, and in Aries, he wants to expand our identity and our sense of self.  He wants us to live in the present.  This aspect wants us to shine a light on something we didn’t know before.  The Moon is in Libra and that rules fairness, cooperation, and legal issues.  Libra can diffuse the warrior Aries energy.  Libra calls for peace. The ruler of the Sun in Libra is Venus.  She is conjunct Uranus.  We could see more instability in the banks and money in general.  We may see some legal cases culminate during the next month.  Venus rules this Full Moon, so expect a flowering of love and affection and Jupiter will add an optimistic glow.  Look for flowering in the areas ruled by the house in your birth chart that contains 16 degrees of Libra.  The Meaning of the Houses is here.

Apr 11 – Venus enters Gemini until May 7.  Gemini is not a huggy-kissy-face sign.  Gemini just wants to talk.  You may bore your loved ones to death during this time by constant chatter about insignificant things.  This is a good placement for staying cool and not making a commitment too fast.  Gemini can be quite fun after it passes the square with Saturn on the 14^th.

          Venus Trine Pluto at 0 degrees of Gemini/Aquarius.  This leads to communications that can lead to a deepening of relationships. This aspect denotes strong feelings of love and maybe intense fanatic attachments or a deepening of a current relationship. This is a positive aspect when it comes to artistic talent. You could do your best work here because you are determined and focused.   Also, you could make some wise decisions regarding your financial future.

          Sun conjunct Jupiter at 21 Aries.  This is the best aspect of the month!  We can start to believe in things again, maybe even our political system.  Or, is that going too far?  This aspect lightens things up tremendously and can pull you right out of the rut you have been stuck in. This aspect brings good health, recognition, and success.  It’s also very sociable.  Get out and circulate. 

Apr 14 – Venus Square Saturn at 4 degrees of Gemini/Pisces. You want to be left alone.  If pushed, you can become unreasonable, belligerent, and irritated. There is a tendency to separate from a relationship. Wait about a week until this influence is over before you make that kind of decision.

Apr 20 – New Moon, Solar Total Eclipse at 29 Aries square Pluto.  Aries rules personal plans, courage, independence, and self-assertion. Aries is a good sign for taking action and trying something new. This is a significant astrological event that ushers in major transformations, new beginnings, and life-changing opportunities.  This New Moon activates Pluto in Aquarius, which could intensify the rebellion, awakening, and innovation in science and technology.  Pluto can also bring out the shadow side and uncover corruption.  This energy will be in effect for 6 months.  This will give you plenty of time to make the necessary changes and start something new,  especially in the area of the house in your natal chart that contains Aries. In the next few weeks, I will be sending out a report covering this Solar Eclipse and the Lunar Eclipse on May 5 at 14 Scorpio. 

          Sun enters Taurus and will stay until May 21.  Your need for security is more pronounced during this time. This is a good time of the year for growing food and flowers.  Take advantage of this energy by hiking in the woods and enjoying nature.

          Sun square Pluto at 0 degrees Taurus/Aquarius.  You are striving for power and maybe using too much force. The plans of other people could be in direct conflict with yours. Try to use self-control to maintain peace.

Apr 21 – Mercury turns retrograde at 15 Taurus and stays until May 14.  When he starts the retrograde, he is conjunct Uranus. Rethink previous opinions or ideas.  Expect delays and disruptions in technology.  Back up your writing, because your WIFI could go out.  There could be shocking news or unexpected communications. Mercury will stay in Taurus during the entire retrograde.  Taurus types may find that they have trouble making decisions because they keep changing their minds.  Look to the house of your birth chart that contains Taurus. Fixed Taurus could change her mind about something.  Oh the horror!

 

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS FOR THIS MONTH:

JUPITER is in Aries all month moving from 19 to 26 degrees.  Jupiter will be in Aries until May 16, 2023. He is the big fat happy guy who is excessive in all things. In Aries, he wants to get out, play competitive sports and become a leader.  Look to the house in your birth chart that contains Aries. This month the areas of life ruled by that house will become more active. If you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 17 to 28 degrees of Aries or Libra, expect opportunities and lucky breaks.

SATURN is in Pisces until May 26, 2025. This month he moves from 2 to 5 degrees of Pisces.  Saturn rules your material world, and especially our career.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets anywhere from 0 to 7 degrees of Pisces, you may be in store for some hard lessons about the issues in the house containing Pisces.  Pisces is a creative dreamer.  With Saturn here, he will try to solidify your dreams and fantasies.

URANUS is in Taurus until April 2026. This month he will move from 16 to 18 degrees of Taurus. This is the time to break loose and make some radical changes in your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable’. If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, (14 to 20 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio) go on a long vacation, preferably to somewhere you have never been before. Or make some major changes in your life. Taurus represents the Earth. Expect earth events in farming, food, earthquakes, volcanos, tornadoes, or other major weather changes while Uranus is in Taurus. 

NEPTUNE  is in Pisces until 2026. This month he will move from 25 to 26 degrees of Pisces.  If you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 24 to 28 degrees of Pisces, you may lack focus during this time and just want to daydream. Beware of a betrayal, or a disappointment, and a sense of drifting. For the rest of us, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, and creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for really inspired films to come out when Neptune is in Pisces. 

PLUTO is in Aquarius until March 11, 2043. This month Pluto stays at 0 degrees of Aquarius.   He is very good at bringing up deep psychological issues. He grinds away at our psyche, bringing up all sorts of difficult psychological issues. You should run to your nearest therapist, especially if you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 29 degrees of Capricorn to 2 degrees of Aquarius.  Pluto asks what needs to die in order to be reborn.

December 2020 Forecast

 

Rumi – Why stay in prison when the doors are wide open.

This month is packed full of aspects.  One is the Eclipse on the 14^th which will conjunct President Trump’s natal lunar eclipse.   This is the same date as the Electoral College.  This eclipse could just eclipse him out.  See my eclipse report here.

Let’s look at what we are finished with, what aspects are ending.  First is the Jupiter/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, (expansion of Corporate and government control). We had that all year.  We are also finished with Mercury, Mars, and Neptune moving retrograde. We have been stuck and unable to move ahead most of the year.  We have clear sailing now to go into 2021.

The biggie this month is the Jupiter Saturn conjunction at 0 degrees Aquarius on the 21^st.  Jupiter and Saturn rule our culture, values, economy, politics, and society. Jupiter represents an expansive and imaginative vision, Saturn is structure and discipline. Jupiter and Saturn conjunctions occur every 20+ years.  But this is a special conjunction called the Great Mutation because it will start a series of consecutive 20-year conjunctions in air signs that will continue until December 20, 2159. While this is happening, Pluto is still in Capricorn until 2023 deconstructing the old paradigms.

The last 200 years have seen this conjunction occur in earth signs. Earth signs value success in a worldly sense believing that hard work following the rules and obeying laws and saving money is the way to approach life.  One’s status during this period was defined by the amount of material wealth one attained, or the influence and power one could accrue in the political or governmental sectors.  In Aquarius, success will be based on creativity and intelligence.  Knowledge communication and ideals will shape the next two centuries. 

Communication will be conducted over the airwaves.  New social media platforms will be more popular in Aquarius and there will be new ways of connecting as well.  We are now seeing the rise of Parler, an alternative to Twitter, and Pure Social Network, an alternative to Facebook.  My favorite new media is Periscope, especially the show called Agenda free TV. The host, Steve Lookner, takes one issue and shows videos of the corporate-owned mainstream media and also alternative media, at the same time he is reading Twitter feeds on the subject. He is also reading comments from viewers and they are commenting back and forth to each other.  I like this way of learning about a topic and being able to form my own opinion. I think this is the wave of the future.  People may not want to passively watch the mainstream media and have the so-called experts tell them what to think.

Capitalism is the old earth model, and may not survive this era. Something new will come in.  Aquarius could bring in the worst kind of Socialism.

We may see some startling advances in science.  Some of the newest work that neuroscientists and mathematicians are doing now imply that our space/time world, our reality, is an illusion and that there are infinite worlds that go beyond space/time.  This idea would agree with some of the great spiritual transitions of the world such as Advaita Vedanta (an ancient religion of India) and Buddhism.  Quantum theory implies this, but they’re going much further now and proving it mathematically.  In this research, we may discover and prove multiple universes.

Look to the house of your chart that contains Aquarius: Ending and renewal in the areas of life ruled by that house. Has something outlived its time?

Dec 1 – Mercury enters Sagittarius until December 20.  Look for hyperbole and exaggeration and tall tales during this period. Don’t promise more than you can deliver.  Don’t brag. Try to be humble.  Mercury in Sagittarius is hubris.  I’m a Mercury in Gemini person so I love Mercury in Sagittarius, I can swap outrageous stories with the best of them.

December 5 – Venus Trine Neptune at 16 degrees of Scorpio and Pisces.  This is a very creative aspect.  Especially in poetry, art, and dance.  Watch Fred Astaire dance on youtube. 

December 9 – Sun Square Neptune at 18 Sagittarius/Pisces.  This aspect can be very confusing.  You are not thinking clearly.  You feel sleepy and thinking is just too hard.

December 11 – Sun Trine Mars at 19 degrees of Sagittarius and Aries. This is like taking an extra cup of coffee.  You feel energized.  Take advantage of this aspect and try to get something accomplished.

December 13 – Mercury Square Neptune at 18 Sagittarius and Pisces.  Neptune loves to sleep and Mercury is your mind.  Can you just stay in bed today and daydream? If you do go to work, you may be stumbling over your words and become completely incoherent.  You may get lost driving.

December 14 – Solar Eclipse at 23 Sagittarius.  Look at the life topics associated with the houses containing Sagittarius.  The new story emerging with one pair of eclipses will go thru major developments when the new pair of eclipses come in 6 months later.  See the meaning of the houses here.

Mercury trine Mars at 20 degrees of Sagittarius/Aries.  Start a new project.  This is right after a New Moon, Solar Eclipse, and the energy and brilliance help you to accomplish something great.

December 15 – Venus enters Sagittarius until January 9, 2021. Are you dating someone with Venus in Sagittarius? After 7 years you are probably still waiting for some kind, any kind of commitment.

December 17 – Saturn enters Aquarius until March 8, 2023. We can make the changes promised by Jupiter in Aquarius starting on Dec 19, but we have to have accountability for the changes. Saturn is the taskmaster, so you can make changes but only through hard work.  We may want to enforce some brakes to the revolutionary energy around us.

December 19 – Sun conjunct Mercury at 25 Sagittarius.  You get some clear ideas about what you want to pursue in the future.  Is it ambitious goals or a trip?  That depends on the other transits to your natal chart.

          Jupiter enters Aquarius until Dec 30, 2021. We think about the future, we become more progressive, politically.  We search for more enlightenment, greater discoveries, especially in science and technology.  A strong urge to move forward. To have more individualism, freedom equality, and human rights.  We become impatient with the old traditional ways of doing things.  Protests and rebellions can occur against lockdowns and the wearing of masks.

December 20 – Mercury enters Capricorn until Jan 9, 2021.  It's time to get serious and think of what you own, your responsibilities, and how to proceed into 2021 in a practical, down to earth manner.

December 21 – Sun enters Capricorn until January 2021.  A major turning point of the year. The Goddess is giving birth to the Sun. Celebrated around the world, especially in indigenous cultures where they use this time to manifest the world they want to see for the next year out of the ethers.

          Jupiter conjunct Saturn at 0 degrees of Aquarius. This is a major conjunct because it is happening at 0 degrees a very powerful degree and also on the winter solstice, a turning point in the year.  See my comments above for more information.

December 23 – Mars Squares Pluto at 23 Aries/Pluto. Don’t force actions on anyone. Don’t begin anything of importance.  Focus on your own work.

December 25 – Mercury Trine Uranus at 6 Capricorn/Taurus.  A good holiday aspect.   This is a creative, happy aspect.  Uranus likes to find new friendships and radical ideas.

December 27 – Sun Trine Uranus at 6 degrees of Capricorn/Taurus.  Entertainment and fun. You may be invited to a party.  Unexpected visitors may show up.

December 30 – Venus Square Neptune at 19 degrees of Sagittarius and Pisces.  Don’t let others take advantage of you.  If you try to bend over backward for someone, you might lose your balance and fall.

 

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:

JUPITER is now in Capricorn until December 20, 2020.  This month Jupiter moves from 26 degrees of Capricorn to 2 degrees of Aquarius.  Jupiter is about growth and expansion especially in travel and education and also in the area of your life ruled by the houses in your natal chart that contains Capricorn and Aquarius.  Jupiter isn’t very happy in Capricorn because he has to get down to business; become responsible, and build a career. He is happy in Aquarius because Aquarius is about rebelling against the status quo and Jupiter likes to make a lot of noise and be excessive

SATURN will move from 23 Capricorn to 1  degree of Aquarius this month. If you have the ascendant or any personal planets at 21 to 25  degrees of Capricorn or from 0 to 1 degree of Aquarius,  may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. While Saturn is in Capricorn he is asking about your ambitions, your career, and your work ethic. In Capricorn, he is right at home and wants to build something  When he goes into Capricorn, he may cause restrictions in your community work and communications. 

 URANUS is in Taurus until Apr 2026. This month he is retrograde and travels from 7 to 6 degrees if Taurus.   If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 5 to 9 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio, you will feel a need for freedom and for making some radical changes in your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable’.  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, go on a long vacation, move or make some major changes in your life. Taurus is the earth.  Expect earth events such as earthquakes and hurricanes during the period that Uranus is in Taurus.

NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism, dreams) is in Pisces until 2026. This month Neptune is staying at 18 degrees all month.  A lack of focus, a sense of drifting, or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too late can be experienced by those of you with the ascendant or Personal Planets at 16 to 20 degrees of Pisces or Virgo. For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for some really inspired films to come out during the time Neptune is in Pisces. 

PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2023.  This month, Pluto is moving from 23 to 24 degrees of Capricorn all month. Profound changes will be felt especially by those with the ascendant or personal planets at 21 to 26 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer. What needs to die in order to be reborn?

April 2020 Forecast

What a different world we are in now compared to my last newsletter on March 1.  What are the astrologers saying about the coronavirus pandemic?  Most of them are blaming all of this on the Saturn/Pluto conjunction, which was exact on January 12 this year.  Jupiter moved into the Capricorn wolf pack in December of 2019.  Jupiter expands and sometimes magnifies events that are happening.   Mars started to trigger the Saturn/Pluto conjunct in mid-March of this year and stayed in Capricorn until March 31.  I think this was the worst of it. The pandemic intensity that has been building for weeks will reach its peak at the start of April.   Also, Saturn has left the Capricorn conjunction with Pluto and moved into Aquarius on March 24 and will stay there until early July when he again backs up into Capricorn.  We may get some relief mid-May when Saturn, Jupiter, and Venus turn retrograde.  But when Mars goes into Aries in the fall, he will aspect Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter again, we may see the virus raise his ugly head.  Think of Mars as an accelerant.  

Aquarius rules groups of people and Saturn rules restrictions.  Who knew that we would have ‘social distancing’ an apt definition of Saturn in Aquarius? Aquarians themselves love social distancing.  It’s their way of life, especially, if they have the Ascendant in Aquarius.  Aquarius also rules the airwaves, so we may see more censorship of social media.  Saturn will be in Aquarius until March 2023.

Dates to Watch:

Apr 3 - Mercury conjunct Neptune at 19 Pisces. You could feel spaced-out today.  Look for confusion and misunderstandings in your communications. There may be some deceptive information coming in. You need to check the facts.  You could be really woolly minded if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the ascendant at 17 to 21 Pisces.

            Venus enters Gemini until Aug 8.  The goddess of love and money spends a long time in Gemini because she goes retrograde from May 13 until June 25.  Venus is good news for those of you with personal planets or the ascendant in the air signs (Gemini, Libra or Aquarius).  Your rational mind will rule over your emotions. Venus can bring harmonious relationships and beauty into your life.  Both Venus and Mars in air signs support your intellectual connections for the rest of the month.

Apr 4 - Venus trine Neptune at 0 Gemini/Aquarius.  Highly creative in the arts.  You strive to live up to your highest ideals.

            Jupiter conjunct Pluto at 24 Capricorn.  This is the most important aspect of this month.  It is the first of three conjunctions between Jupiter and Pluto.  The second and third time these two planets meet up is June 30 and Nov 12 of this year. Jupiter amplifies the lord of death and destruction.  But remember Jupiter always brings a silver lining.  So look for signs of regeneration and renewal.  Maybe during the second step of this dance in June, you will decide what to do about what you have uncovered and then on the final pass in Nov, you will take action on it.

Apr 7 – Mars square Uranus at 5 Aquarius/Taurus.  Mars does not follow the rules when he squares Uranus, especially true if he is in Aquarius. This is a dangerous aspect so use caution for a few days.  There may be some rebellion either globally or in your own home.  You could get really riled up if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 3 to 7 degrees of Aquarius or Taurus.

            Full Moon at 18 Aries/Libra. You may realize something important about your relationships.  Do you give too much or not enough? Tension has built up around your relationships that need to be released.  Deal with any difficulties that you have had with close friendships.  It’s time to clear the air.

            Mercury sextiles Pluto and Jupiter.  This is an important day for contacting people that matter to you and having a deep, heartfelt conversation.

Apr 11 – Mercury enters Aries until April 27. – Mercury likes being in Aries.  He likes to get into a lot of arguments during this time.  He is combative.  People around you may be too assertive, try to not overreact to them. This aspect will get you moving and can be very productive.  Get projects started.

April 12 – Easter.  It doesn’t look like we will be out of the woods at this time to celebrate together.

Apr 14 and 15– Sun Square Pluto and Jupiter at 24 Aries/Capricorn.   Jupiter and Pluto rule abundance and wealth. I would expect news around these subjects yesterday, today and tomorrow.  This creates an urge to expand and to acquire wealth.  Some takeovers could happen and also the stock market could get chaotic. You could be forced to face some uncomfortable truth.

April 19 – The Sun enters Taurus until May 20.  In Taurus, you want to build something permanent.  I read that vegetable seeds and baby chickens are selling out all over the world.  Taurus wants to see you get back to the basics.  Enjoy the outdoors.

Apr 21 – Sun Square Saturn at 1 degree Taurus/Aquarius. Work and worry. Since you are probably not working at this time, this can come out being worried about your job.  This is only a 3-day aspect. It’s time to let go of the past. This aspect can bring low energy.  Try to stay optimistic; don’t let negative people bring you down.

Apr 22 – New Moon at 2 Taurus. It symbolizes new beginnings.  Enjoy physical pleasures; re-evaluate your relationship with money. Remember King Midas an archetype for Taurus had misplaced value on money.  Beautify your home and garden.  This New Moon is in a square to Saturn.  This could set up a feeling of loneliness and depression.  I hope we are not still locked up now; it will be hard to take.  Look at the house in your natal chart that contains Taurus, this is the area where you will want to start something new.  (see Meaning of the Houses here)

Apr 25 and 26 – Mercury Square Pluto and Jupiter at 24 Aries/Pluto. Some powerful people could have an influence over you and the masses.  This is the aspect of a great orator.  This is good for teaching and writing. Don’t try to control and manipulate anyone if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 26 Aries or Pluto.

            Pluto stations at 25 Capricorn and goes retrograde until Oct 4.  This could bring up secrets about corruption and power.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 23 to 27 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer prepare to take a deep dive into conspiracy theories.  Try not to get too paranoid.

Apr 26 – Sun conjunct Uranus. at 6 Taurus.  You may wake up and look at your life in a completely different way.  You may find it hard to concentrate on your immediate affairs.  There is too much disruption and new things keep popping up. Enjoy the ride if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 4 to 8 Taurus.

Mercury square Saturn at 1 Taurus/Aquarius.  We clam up.  We are more cautious of what we talk or write about.  You could become critical, pessimistic or sarcastic.  For the Capricorns out there, what’s new?

April 30 – Mercury Conjunct Uranus at 6 Taurus.  Look for strokes of genius that have a practical application.  You find new information about unusual subjects. Nervous tension can make you jumpy or disturb your sleep.  You are quite brilliant today if you have any personal planets or the ascendant at 4 to 8 Taurus.

JUPITER is now in Capricorn until December 20, 2020.  This month Jupiter will move from 24 to 28 degrees of Capricorn.  Jupiter is about growth and expansion especially in travel and education and also in the area of your life ruled by the house in your natal chart that contains Capricorn.  Jupiter isn’t very happy in Capricorn because for the following year he has to get down to business; become responsible, and build a career. Don’t forget about his excessive qualities. In Capricorn, he could work too hard, and be too focused on the material and forget to smell the roses

SATURN moved into Aquarius on March 21. January 2020 Forecast

We are still under the influence of the Solar Eclipse of December 26 at 4 Capricorn.  We will have a Lunar Eclipse on January 10. See the eclipse article for a description of these eclipses and how they will affect you.

This is the month of the exact conjunction aspect of Saturn and Pluto. This has been getting the astrology world in an uproar.  But don’t expect the end of the world. A conjunction is the start of a cycle. This conjunction will play out over the next 20 plus years. So this is just the beginning.  The last Saturn/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn was in January 1518, 2 months after Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the church door and began the Protestant Revolution. Remember, Saturn is authority structures and Pluto likes to destroy them.  The cycle we are entering will correlate to what happened starting in 1518 for the following 20 plus years. Get your history books out or read Rick Tarnas’s groundbreaking book that correlates history and astrology, Cosmos and Psyche, where he correlates historical events with planetary cycles. One point that Tarnas makes about this conjunction is that it brings in conservative and reactionary empowerment.

This conjunction is a global event.  But some countries will feel the effect of this cycle more than others, namely, the US and Britain.  The US is a Cancer country and Britain is Capricorn. We can already see shake-ups in the US with the impeachment hearings and in Britain with, Brexit and the scandal around the Royal Family as a result of the disastrous interview Prince Andrew did on the BBC.

Saturn and Pluto will conjunct at 22 Capricorn. Look at the house in your birth chart that contains that degree.  This is the area of your life that will experience an initiation of a new cycle.  See the Meaning of the Houses here.

Jan 2 - Mercury Conjunct Jupiter at 6 Capricorn.  Fun news comes in. Maybe it’s about a trip you plan to take.  Get the maps out, especially if you have the ascendant or personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) at 4 to 8 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer.

Jan 3 - Mars enters Sagittarius until February 16. During this time Mars wants to explore the world.  A lot of our energy will be expansive and interested in foreign countries or reading about philosophy and religion.

Jan 10 - Lunar Eclipse at 20 Cancer.  Read the eclipse report.

Uranus moves Direct.  Uranus stops in the sky at 2 Taurus and starts moving direct.  You can get really wired today if you have the ascendant or personal planets at 0 to 4 Taurus or Scorpio.  All of us could come up with some pretty brilliant out-of-the-box ideas. How about a trip on a UFO today?

Sun Conjunct Mercury at 19 Capricorn.  The Sun is lightening up our mind. This supports our genius that is coming through today.

Jan 12 - Mercury Conjunct Saturn at 22 Capricorn.  Today you may get deflated when you realize your bright idea was not so bright after all and the aliens won’t let you onboard the ship.  A good day to pay attention to details. If you are a writer, a good day for editing, ugh.  

Mercury Conjunct Pluto at 22 Capricorn. You could become obsessed today with a person or an idea.  Do some research on addiction instead.

Saturn Conjunct Pluto at 22 Capricorn. This is the biggie. This aspect can correlate to all sorts of mishaps, robberies, fires, and traffic accidents. Saturn and Pluto don’t fool around. But on the bright side,  If you are a Pluto type (A Scorpio or challenging aspects to Pluto in your natal chart). You may decide to start a business around Pluto themes such as hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, hospice work, renovation of old buildings, or refinishing furniture you find in flea markets.  See above on how this aspect could affect us in a global fashion.

All three of these aspects today and the two aspects tomorrow will impact you in a big way if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 20 to 24 Capricorn or Cancer.

Jan 13 - Venus enters Pisces until Feb. 7. Aphrodite is in the sign of Bacchus, the drunk.  When Venus is in Pisces we loosen our boundaries and Dracula type people can arrive to sap our energy.  If you already have a strong Neptune or Pisces in your natal chart, watch out for this period. Have your friends and your insignificant other stand in front of a mirror and check to see if their image is reflected. 

Sun Conjunct Pluto at 22 Capricorn.  You can let go of old attitudes and behaviors and take a new course in your life.  This is an aspect of leadership potential.

Sun Conjunct Saturn at 22 Capricorn. Saturn is the Guardian at the Threshold.  You can get stopped in your tracks today before you can reach the goals you have been aiming for.  This is temporary so just wait.

Jan 16 - Mercury enters Aquarius until Feb. 3.  Mercury is happy here. He can let his ideas soar into the outer reaches of space.  This is a good time to have group discussions about quantum physics, space travel, and the latest technological inventions.

Jan 18 - Mercury Square Uranus at 2 degrees of Aquarius/Taurus.  Both Aquarius and Taurus are fixed signs which means once they get an idea in their craw they won’t let go.  Try not to get into any arguments today especially with an Aquarius or a Taurus.

Jan 20 - Sun enters Aquarius until Feb 20.  We could get really rebellious during this period.  We want to quit school, quit our jobs and not conform to anyone or anything.  Aquarius is all about personal freedom.

Jan 23 - Sun Square Uranus at 2 Aquarius/Taurus.  Another locking- of-the- horns. But instead of it manifesting with your connection with others, this one can cause you to be stuck between two courses of action.  What to do? Stay calm and don’t get stirred up by outer events.

Jan 24 - New Moon at 3 Aquarius.  This is the start of the Aquarius month.  Do an intention around how you want to express your personal freedom and your uniqueness in the following month.

Jan 26 - Venus Square Mars at 15 Pisces/Sagittarius.  Venus is Aphrodite and Mars is Eros. You know where I’m going with this. If you are a strong Mars/Aries type you could become a stalker.  If you are a sweet Venus/Libra type, you could be the stalkee. Now this aspect could also concern finances. It all depends where Venus is located in your natal chart. I have a Venus/Mars conjunction in my 6th house of work, so I spent 30 years in business fighting about money.

Jan 27 - Venus Conjunct Neptune at 15 Pisces. This is a good aspect of art and music and all creative efforts.  Just be careful of self-delusion and looking for God in all the wrong places such as in relationships.

Jan 28 - Mars Square Neptune at 15 Pisces. This is the aspect of betrayal.  Be careful who you trust.

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:

JUPITER is now in Capricorn until December 20, 2020.  This month Jupiter will move from 6 to 13 degrees of Capricorn.  Jupiter is about growth and expansion especially in travel and education and also in the area of your life ruled by the house in your natal chart that contains Capricorn.  Jupiter isn’t very happy in Capricorn because for the following year he has to get down to business; become responsible, and build a career. Don’t forget about his excessive qualities. In Capricorn, he could work too hard,  and be too focused on the material and forget to smell the roses

SATURN is in Capricorn until 2020. This month he is moving from 21 to 24 degrees. If you have the ascendant or any personal planets at 21 to 24 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. August 2018 Forecast

I was watching Joseph Campbell’s The Power of Myth on Neflix last month.  These are the interviews of Joseph Campbell by Bill Moyers that were broadcast on PBS back in the 80’s.  It was great to watch it again. At one point Campbell was talking about initiation rituals that took place when young men were abandoned in a deep, dark cave, suffering a simulation of death and then experiencing a rebirth when they came out. At the same time that I was watching the program, the Thai soccer team members were going through the exact same ritual.  Also at this time, we had the Solar Eclipse on the 12 of July opposing Pluto, god of the underworld and of death and rebirth.   Read the article I wrote on my blog about the rescue and the power of intention here.

 

We are still under the influence of the July 27 Total Lunar Eclipse.  It was a powerful eclipse and was on Mars retrograde.  This may have us looking back at our past actions and how we can rectify them.

Mercury turned retrograde on July 26 and will stay retrograde until Aug 19.  This also has to do with the past.  It means going over the decisions we made and revising them.

Aug 1 – Mars Square Uranus at 2 Aquarius/Taurus.  The commonality between Taurus and Aquarius is that they are fixed signs and won’t budge in an argument and Mars rules arguments and Uranus is a loose cannon.  What to do?  If you have any Personal Planets (Sun, Mercury, Moon, Venus, and Mars) or the ascendant at 0 to 4 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo or Aquarius, just stay away from other Taurus, Scorpio, Leo or Aquarius people.

Aug 6 – Venus enters Libra until Sep 9. A woman with Venus in Libra in her birth chart wants to be idle wives, eating chocolates and watching the hallmark channel all day.  During this period we may all want to do that. But wait, I don’t want to leave out the guys.  Men with Venus in Libra have fantasies about being a toy boy for a wealthy widow–or two.

          Sun Square Jupiter at 14 Leo/Scorpio.  The way to get through this aspect is to practice self-control.  But asking either Leo or Scorpio to restrain themselves is impossible.  So if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 12 to 15 Leo or Scorpio go ahead, spend money fulfill your desires, see what happens.

Aug 7 – Uranus turns retrograde at 2 degrees of Taurus.  Uranus has stopped in the sky to change direction.  That means that 2 degrees of Taurus is supercharged.  Uranus is rebellious, ornery, and is just waiting for the next protest or revolution to join.  It doesn’t really matter the cause.  Uranus is also a brilliant out-of-the-box thinker.  Take advantage of this period to be creative.  This period from Aug. 4 to Aug. 9 has a major impact if you have 0 to 2 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio.

          Venus Trine Mars at 1 Libra/Aquarius.  Since these are both air signs and Mars and Venus rules Men and Women and the trine is about harmony, this is a obviously a good day for relationships.  BUT Libra and Aquarius love to talk.  They could end up talking themselves right out of the important stuff.

Aug 8 – Sun Conjunct Mercury at 15 Leo.  Leo is a warm, extroverted and generous sign.  This is a good day to make new friends and enjoy yourself, especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 13 to 27 Leo or Aquarius.

Aug 9 – Venus Square Saturn at 2 Libra/Saturn.  Don’t look in your checkbook.  You may find that you have been having too much fun and are broke.  Saturn is the Cosmic Cop, the Reality Principle and he is asking you to go on a budget.

Aug 11 – Solar Eclipse at 18 Leo.  This is the third and final eclipse of the summer.  Check out my eclipse report for this eclipse and the two in July.

          Mercury Square Jupiter at 14 Leo/Scorpio. Don’t make long-distance travel plans on this one.  And please don’t talk so much.  Leo does like to blab, but Scorpio keeps secrets. So trust the Scorpio to keep quiet about what you tell them today, but the Leo?  Not so much.  Important If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 12 to 14 Leo or Scorpio.

Aug 12 – Mars backs up into Capricorn Sep 10.  Mars is exalted in Capricorn which means it can operate in a grounded manner especially in career.  Mars wants to move ahead as far as building structures, buying land, and moving up in the Corporate world.  But he is still retrograde so there may be some hurdles to overcome first.

Aug 19 – Mercury turns direct at 11 Leo.  I find Mercury retrograde refreshing.  My mind takes a rest.  Of course, sometimes it totally shuts down.  But today we can start making plans again.

          Jupiter Trine Neptune 15 Scorpio/Pisces.  This is the big aspect of the year. Jupiter and Neptune are both dreamers and so is Pisces so try to keep your feet on the ground. This is great for an ideal vacation, somewhere near the water.

Aug 23 – Sun enters Virgo until Sep 22.  Virgo means back to school, the summer vacation is over.  Time to clean up the mess we made in the summer and to get ready for fall and winter.

Aug 25 – Sun Trine Uranus at 2 Virgo/Taurus.  Virgo is the Virgin and Taurus can be pretty darn bawdy.  But today they are working together.

          Sun Trine Saturn at 2 Virgo/Capricorn. This is a good aspect for dealing with elders.  Or it could mean a growth in maturity.

This is a triple trine, Sun Trine Uranus, Trine Saturn all in earth signs.  This is a good time to make positive changes in your life.  Let go of what is no longer useful, go toward self-expression.  The three earth signs, Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn have problems with change.  On this one, they may find that the change is easy.

Aug 26 - Full Moon at 3 Pisces.  Full Moons bring in a culmination of events and matters started on the New Moon Eclipse of August 11.

          Venus square Pluto at 19 Libra/Capricorn.  You see psychopaths everywhere.  You are judging your loved one too harshly.  Back off.

Aug 27 - Mars turns direct at 28 Capricorn. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 26 to 29 Capricorn, this is the time to move forward with your plans.

Aug 28 -  Mercury Square Jupiter at 15 Leo/Scorpio. The verbal jousting can turn into real arguments today.  Especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 13 to 17 Leo or Scorpio or even Taurus and Aquarius.

 

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:

JUPITER  is now in Scorpio. This month Jupiter moves from 14 to 17 degrees of Scorpio.  Jupiter is about growth and expansion especially in travel and education and also in the area of your life ruled by the house in your natal chart that holds 14 to 17 degrees of Scorpio.   Scorpio types are into growth, they are always looking at ways that they could better themselves, especially emotionally and psychologically.  Jupiter in Scorpio will help you with that.  But in Scorpio, he can also bring excess in all the things that are not good for you.

Thai Soccer Team Rescue

I’m sure we were all absorbed in the rescue of the twelve soccer players and their assistant coach. They were trapped for sixteen days in a six-mile long deep cave. It all began on June 23^rd when the parents of these boys texted the team’s head coach that their children had not come home for dinner. The coach knew that the assistant coach had taken the boys into the cave so he ran there and saw their bicycles at the entrance of the cave and asked for help. They were discovered inside the cave on July 2nd. At this point the situation looked hopeless since the cave was flooded, the oxygen levels were falling to blackout levels and the monsoons were coming. The children were perched on a slippery ledge above the current. Millions of people all over the world were praying that they would be rescued, and by July 10th, against all odds, they were all out of the cave

One way to explain the improbable positive outcome of the rescue is in Paul Levy’s new book, entitled Quantum Revelation: A Radical Synthesis of Science and Spirituality, where he makes a powerful argument that consciousness is key to understanding how the universe works. In the book, he relates how the manuscript had been sitting on his computer for months and he was having problems getting it published. One of his dream groups gathered in his home and each person focused on one intention - to get his book published.  Within days of this meeting, he received a friend request on Facebook from Jean Huston. She read and loved his manuscript and told her publisher about it and it was soon published.

You may wonder what the rescue has in common with Levy’s book.  As Levy writes, “When a group of people set their intentions into alignment with each other, magic can happen. Their shared intention gets imprinted into the very quantum field that in-forms and gives hope to our universe in a way that can really make a difference in the world”. I think this magical rescue and the way Paul Levy got his book published are two examples of the quantum nature of reality Since millions of people around the world were setting an intention that these boys would be rescued, it created that situation or in quantum terms ‘the wave function collapsed’ in a positive manner. At the same time, Levy’s dream group’s intention enabled the timely publication of his book.

The double slit experiment was the scientific experiment that revealed how consciousness not only is a part of the universe but that we as observers play a major role in continually creating the universe. In the double slit experiment photons or subatomic particles passing through a device with a double slit form an interference pattern of light that results in diffused dark patterns on a screen just as expected. In other words, the photons act as a wave.  But if a person could watch each photon individually to see which slit it travels through, the photons will act as particles and no interference pattern shows on the screen. You just see marks where each photon hits. If there is only one slit in the experiment the photon always appears as a particle. Levy says, “So not only does the photon know whether both slits are open or not, it also know whether or not we are watching it and adjusts its behavior accordingly.” The one who observes the experiment actually affects the outcome of the experiment. The moment of observation ‘collapses the wave function.” It determines whether the photon acts as a wave or particle.

Levy says “Quantum physics’ new perspective can potentially liberate our mind from the mental straitjacket of the classical mechanistic worldview, in revealing new creative orders of freedom that we can step into at any moment—even right now!” The saving of the Thai soccer youth by intention is a wonderful example of a new Uber myth for our world—the Quantum Myth.
