Astrologers will have their hands full trying to make predictions about this month.  It’s total chaos. First, we have Uranus turning retrograde on the 3^rd, a Jupiter Square Pluto aspect on the 4^th, a Lunar Eclipse on the 7, Mercury turns retrograde on the 12^th, a major total Solar Eclipse on the 21^st and Saturn stops in the Sky on the 15^th.  Expect the unexpected and more upsidedown land in our political world.

Dates to Watch:

Aug 3 – Uranus turns retrograde at 29 Aries. He turns retrograde every year.  He will stay retrograde until January 2, 2018.  Uranus likes to shake things up.  He doesn’t want us to be too comfortable. If you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars) or the Ascendant at 27 to 29 degrees of Aries or Libra or and 0 to 1 degree of Taurus or Scorpio be prepared to be shook but take advantage of Uranus to decide what you want to change in your life.

Aug. 4^th – Jupiter Square Pluto at 18 Libra/Capricorn.  The first time this aspect it was on Nov 24, 2016 and then again in March 2017.  Look back to those dates to see what was going on with you.  Whatever it was may culminate on this date.  Jupiter rules justice and Pluto rules power and with the square they are at odds.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 16 to 20 Libra or Capricorn, try not to come on to strong with your half-baked political ideas.  Stay off of Facebook!

August 7 – Lunar Eclipse at 15 Aquarius/Leo.  Read my eclipse article linked above.

Aug 12 – Venus Trine Neptune.  This is a good aspect for decorating your home, rearranging the furniture and wonderful for travel. Not bad for relationships either.

          Mercury turns retrograde until Sep 9.  This is a magical time.  I know you don’t feel like being magical.  Well, at least slowdown, some important insights can come during Mercury retrograde such as,  Where am I going and What am I doing?

Aug 13 – Sun Trine Saturn.  This is a good aspect for dealing with elders.  It is good for service and helping those needing charity.

Aug 15 – Venus Opposite Pluto at 17 Cancer Capricorn.  You could fall desperately in love with this one.  Desperate is the operative work here.  Nothing but heartache.  Remember Janis Joplin singing “take another piece of my heart now baby”.  That’s the idea and she had Venus/Pluto in her natal chart so she knew what she was singing about.  Be extra careful if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 15 to 19 Cancer or Capricorn.

Aug 17 – Venus Square Jupiter at 20 Cancer/Libra.  Not as bad as Venus with Pluto.  On this aspect you could act too impulsively in relationship matters.  Wait awhile and don’t go shopping!  This is an extravagant aspect.  Troublesome if you have personal planets at 18 to 22 of Cancer/Aries/Libra or Capricorn.

Aug 21 – Total Solar Eclipse at 28 Leo.  See my article above for this eclipse.

          Sun Trine Uranus. This is great for entertainment and fun.  A party? Unexpected visitors?

Aug 22 – Mars Trine Saturn.  I love Saturn when he is in a trine.  He could bring in an enjoyable first class job assignment, pleasure in work and also meetings of young and old.

Sun enters Virgo until Sep 22.  During its sojourn in Virgo, we will feel like honing our skills.  Taking a more practical approach to the situation and pay attention to the small stuff.

Aug 24 – Venus Square Uranus at 29 Cancer/Aries.  Don’t give advice to your family or friends.  You think you know it all, but you don’t.  You become really irritating to others if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 27 to 29 degrees of Cancer/Aries, Libra or Capricorn and 0 to 1 degree of Leo, Taurus, Scorpio or Aquarius.

Aug 25 - Saturn stationary direct at 21 Sagittarius.  Saturn is stopping in the sky about to turn direct.  If Saturn themes such as career, your concentration, your discipline, and persistence have been stalled, you can now move ahead.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 19 to23 degrees of Sagittarius or Gemini, don’t push the river.  Wait.

Aug 26 – Venus enters Leo until Sep 19.  The Goddess of Beauty is entering the sign of romance, ambition, independence, and leadership.  A time to be generous to others.

Aug 26 – Sun Conjunct Mercury at 4 Virgo.  This will make you mentally active.  Some brilliant ideas if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 2 to 6 Virgo.

Aug 31 – Mercury enters Leo until Sep 9.  Mercury is retrograde and here he is backing up into Leo.  He was in the same sign back in July from the 5^th to the 25^th.  Look back to those dates to see what you were dealing with regarding communications.  Mercury wants to show off what he knows. It’s a good time to schedule lectures or workshops.

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:

JUPITER is in Libra until Oct 2017.    This month he will travel from 17 to 22 degrees of Libra.  Jupiter is about growth and expansion especially in travel and education and also in the area of your life ruled by the house in your natal chart that holds 17 to 22 degrees of Libra. In Libra, he would bring good news and harmony in relationships. 

SATURN is in Sagittarius until Dec 2017. This month he is moving retrograde until the 25^th when he turns direct at 21 degrees.  So he will travel from 22 to 21 degrees of Sagittarius.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets at 22 to 21 degrees of Sagittarius or Gemini, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules.  While Saturn is in Sagittarius, he is asking about your belief system, your hopes for the future and your travel plans

URANUS is in Aries until 2018.  This month Uranus turns retrograde on the 3^rd.  This month he moves from 29 to 28 degrees of Aries.  We feel a need for freedom and we want to make some radical changes in our life.  I believe in “cooperating with the inevitable”.  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, go on a long vacation, move, or make some major changes in your life.

NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism, dreams) is in Pisces until 2026.  This month he moving retrograde and will move from 14 10 13 degrees all month.  A lack of focus, a sense of drifting or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too late can be experienced by those of you with the Sun or Personal Planets at 13 and 14 degrees of Pisces or Virgo. For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative expression, increased dreams and spiritual insights. Watch for some really inspired films to come out during the time Neptune is in Pisces. 

PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2023.  This month Pluto is retrograde and will move from 18 to 17 degrees of Capricorn.   Profound changes will be felt especially by those with Sun, ascendant or personal planets at 17 or 18 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer. 

The Eclipses in August 2107

We have two eclipses in August. A lunar eclipse on August 7th and a Total Solar eclipse on the 21^st which is being called, The Great American Eclipse.

Eclipses are contrary to the status quo. If impacted by one of these eclipses, our life will not run on the same track that it has been on.  But that can be a good thing. Some view eclipses as release and renewal points.

These eclipses in Leo will shake the foundations of our country’s leadership. The ancients believed that during an eclipse, the "mighty will fall. Remember the energy from an eclipse can last from six to 18 months and also be activated up to a month before the actual eclipse.

Lunar Eclipse on August 7, 2017 at 15 Aquarius/Leo

A Lunar Eclipse can make us more aware of our psychological patterns, and our unconscious motivations. Lunar Eclipses can bring up old memories and feelings. As it is a full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse tends to bring completion or endings. On a Lunar Eclipse something will end and on a Solar Eclipse something will begin. A Lunar Eclipse is an opportunity to break habits or eliminate socially conditioned patterns of thought and behavior that stand in the way of self-realization.

Lunar eclipses can bring things to completion that we have been working on. We can finally make decisions about issues that we have been thinking about. The Sun is opposite the Moon, lights up the Moon and brings previously unexamined areas of our life into awareness. 

Lunar Eclipses are more emotional than Solar Eclipses.  Because a Lunar Eclipse only happens on a full moon, two houses in our natal chart will be affected. 

This eclipse on Aug 7 affects two signs – Aquarius and Leo. Aquarius wants to belong to groups that are working to save the world.  Leo asks us to work on our close personal circle.  How much do we want to work with our closest friends and how much to give to the collective? The inter-relationship of these two signs mirrors the inter-relationship each of us has with our urge to be accepted into the larger society and contribute to that collective unit via our personally creative expression. Aquarius also involves outsiders and revolutionaries.

This eclipse is conjunct  Mars in Leo.  This creates an urge in us to bring our ideals and wishes to fruition. We could create conflicts because our energy is heightened. Quarrels could occur in the area ruled by the house in which this Lunar Eclipse falls.

It is also sextile to Jupiter. This is a positive aspect for the eclipse.  There could be contacts with professional people and publishers.  It’s beneficial for all kinds of progressive ideas.

Remember that planetary energies are symbols and can be expressed in many different ways.  It’s really based on our consciousness and what we can create with these energies.

Total Solar Eclipse on August 21 at 28 Leo

Solar Eclipses tend to relate to sudden events that disrupt our day to day functioning; they are the crisis that seems to come out of nowhere and that suddenly demand all of our conscious attention and focus. They tend to stir things up on a physical and conscious level much more than Lunar Eclipses.

This Total Solar Eclipse is called the Great American Eclipse because it will create darkness in the skies along a great 70 mile- pathway stretching all the way from Oregon, through Idaho, then Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, across the tips of North Carolina (SW) and Georgia (NW). The eclipse shadow then exits through South Carolina.  It will first be seen on the coast of Oregon at 10:15 AM. The eclipse will last 2 1/2 minutes in each location.  Within this land belt the eclipse will be seen as 100% total.  In Washington, DC this solar eclipse will be 85% and in New York City, 77% of its potential totality. The path of totality or the eclipse shadow will travel from the Northwest coast to the Southeast coast in a matter of hours. It is anticipated 20 million people will travel to see this eclipse and 12 million more live in this area.  An eclipse is more powerful if the shadow falls where we are living or on our birth place. A lot of people will travel there, but not many astute astrologers who know better than to be in the shadow of a total solar eclipse.

This eclipse is trine Uranus.  People and things may leave our environment, but that may be a good thing.  This aspect is great for original creative work. Also with this eclipse falling in Leo, we can expect fires or personal firestorms because Leo is a fire sign.

Traditionally a solar eclipse signals the downfall or overthrow of a political leader or royalty.  President Clinton was impeached following a Leo Solar Eclipse that fell within three degrees of his natal Sun in 1998.  Napoleon declared himself King of France when he had a solar eclipse on his Sun in 1803. Was the difference in their natal chart or their karma.

Astrologer Charles Jayne in 1944 wrote, “Birth of rulers near eclipses indicates either the start or the end of dynastic lines and nations." Both Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton were born on the days of eclipses. William was born on the day of a Solar Eclipse on June 21, 1982. Kate was born on the day of a Lunar Eclipse on January 9th, 1982 at 19 Cancer. The November 9th, 2010 Lunar Eclipse was on William’s Sun and he announced their marriage on the 17th. In line with Jane’s rule, the royal couple is likely to end the British dynastic line that goes back to the first King of England, William the Conqueror in 1066.

An eclipse is activated on the day of the eclipse but more often when the eclipse placement is triggered by another planet.  On Sept 2 and 3, 2017, Mercury and Mars will cross the eclipse degree and that is when the eclipse will be triggered. 

Other powerful transits are happening at the same time, Mercury will be retrograde at 8 Virgo and Saturn will be stationary at 21 Sagittarius.  In fact this eclipse will be trine Saturn, trine Uranus and sextile Jupiter.  There is a potential for something very positive to come from this eclipse. Mercury retrograde and Saturn stopping in the sky could mean a lot of traffic problems with those trying to drive to see the eclipse.

Solar eclipses also have been known to trigger earthquakes and the shadow of this eclipse will pass over the ring of fire in Oregon, Yellowstone and the New Madrid fault line.

How will these eclipses affect you?

Eclipses repeat every 18 years.  We had solar and lunar eclipses at the same point in August 1998.  Look back to what happened then.  This will continue a theme that was playing out at that time.

An eclipse tends to emphasize matters related to the house on your natal chart that contains the eclipse degrees and any personal planets that it conjuncts, or opposes.  The areas ruled by the houses or planets will demand more attention, thought, energy and time from you, at least until the next eclipse. Eclipses open doors and invite us to come in, illuminating and stimulating areas of our lives that need our attention.

The Lunar Eclipse on August 7th will impact you if one of your personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the ascendant is at 13 to 17 degrees of Aquarius/Leo.  It will mean the end of one set of circumstances and the beginning of another. Let go.

Also look at your natal chart for the houses that contains 13 to 17 degrees of Leo and Aquarius.  This eclipse will stir up events related to that house.

The Solar Eclipse on August 21st will affect you if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and/or Mars) or the ascendant at 26 Aquarius or Leo to 0 degrees of Pisces and Virgo.

The impact on a personal planet is much stronger than if the eclipse hits outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune or Pluto).

Also look at your natal chart for the houses that contains 26 Aquarius to 0 Pisces.

President Trump and the Eclipses

There is a lot of buzz by astrologers about President Trump and the eclipses. Some astrologers believe this eclipse foretells the end of Trump’s presidency.  But most astrologers are democrats and that may cloud their judgement. I don’t care about politics only about archetypes found in myths so that is what I try focus on. 

Trump was born on a Lunar Eclipse with Mars and his ascendant in Leo, the king. Being an eclipse baby means that he is very sensitive to them.  He was also born with his ascendant on Regulus the royal star. With his ascendant in Leo and on Regulus, he was born to be a leader.  Because he had the king archetype I was not surprised at all that he won the election. Kings have their day in the Sun, but also are sometimes overthrown or beheaded.  And when I wrote about him last month I did mention the two mythological characters – Phaeton and Icarus - prominent in his natal chart are both destined to fall.

The Lunar Eclipse of August 7, 2017 (at 15.25 Aquarius/Leo) makes a conjunction/opposition to President Trump’s 12^th house Pluto, Pluto symbolizes his shadow, his dark side. Pluto in the 12^th house means it is hidden and he may not be aware of it.  I saw this same placement in O.J. Simpson’s chart.   Pluto rules secrets, it could also indicate “the swamp” that Trump vowed to drain.  Eclipses light up any planet it touches.  Does he have some deep dark secrets we will learn about during this eclipse?  Or will he combat terrorism or the corruption in our government?

The Total Solar Eclipse of August 21, called The Great American Eclipse, will impact his ascendant, Mars and Regulus.  I don’t like counting Trump out even with this eclipse because he has such a lucky chart and on the day of the eclipse he will have Uranus trine his ascendant.  Sometimes this means he won’t t want to stick with the old ways of doing things?  He may get bored.  He has two major Uranus aspects natally, so this eclipse could increase his restlessness. See his chart analysis at the bottom of this article.  This eclipse will bring in a period of great crises in his professional and personal life.  Having Regulus in his chart means he will not easily be defeated.

An eclipse on Mars, the God of War, increases the potential for anger and violence. Trump’s Mars opposes the US Moon at 27 Aquarius.  To me this indicates a personal war with the people (Moon in Aquarius).  Could this mean some sort of martial law is imposed?

Leo rules the heart and a lot of energy will be pouring into him. So his health is something to watch. Another transit he is having at the same time of these eclipses is Saturn stationary in the sky on his moon in the 4^th house.  He could have problems with the family. Saturn conjunct Moon is the aspect of Cronos swallowing his children. Could he betray his children?

These eclipses will reveal that we are certainly live in interesting times.

Dan Rather is having a comeback at age 85.  Read the article about his second coming here.   Eighty-four and Eighty-Five are the ages when transiting Uranus comes around your natal chart and conjuncts your natal Uranus.  It’s called the Uranus return.  I have seen many instances where the person is noticed or becomes famous maybe for the first time in their life. Of course, Dan Rather is a Scorpio, they may be down but never out.  Scorpio is the Come Back King!

Also, as Jung noted, the birth charts work after your death.  Joseph Campbell died at 83, but he became well known when PBS aired The Power of Myth in 1988 when Campbell would have been 84.

So take your vitamins if  you want to live long enough to experience this.

Dates to Watch:

May 3 – Mercury turns direct at 24 Aries.  Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo so those two signs will breathe a sigh of relief.  Now they can get on with their busy lives. All of the personal planets are moving direct all month which helps all of us move forward.

May 9 – Sun Trine Pluto at 18 and 19 degrees of Taurus/Capricorn. This aspect  can make the unconscious conscious.  The signs of Taurus and Capricorn rule money.  This may be a time to make some good long term investments.  This will be especially helpful to those of you with the ascendant or personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars) at 18 or 19 Taurus or Capricorn.

May 10 – Full Moon at 20 Scorpio/Taurus.  This is a powerful Full Moon because Mercury is conjunct Uranus and trine Saturn today.  These are dynamic aspects for communication.  Both Scorpio and Taurus are fixed signs – they concentrate their energies.

Scorpio is the most powerful emotional sign and Taurus is about not letting go. Taurus is about simplicity and Scorpio is about complexity. You will feel this if you have the ascendant or personal planets at 20 degrees of Scorpio or Taurus

          Mercury Conjunct Uranus at 25 Aries.  Some of you Aries types born between April 12 to April 17 have really not experienced the erratic, impulsive, crazy making effects of Uranus on your Sun yet. And I thought Aries was a fast reactor to this type of aspect.  Think about it, you won’t have Uranus on your Sun for another 84 years.  Do you really want to wait that long to change your life?  Well, Mercury conjunct Uranus and your Sun may just wake you up.  For all of us this is a great day for creative out of the box ideas especially with personal planets or ascendant at 25 of Aries or Libra.  This is a second Mercury Conjunct Uranus, the first was on March 26 and the second was on April 28.  Watch for sudden news events on those dates or a wake-up call to something you have been ignoring.

May 11 – Mars Square Neptune at 15 Gemini/Pisces. Are you the aggressor or the victim?  You have both of these archetypes in your psyche today.  A Square usually come out as internal frustration, Or maybe you are chasing a fantasy.  Check if you have personal planets or the ascendant at15 Gemini or Pisces. You could be floating in outer space today, more than you usually do.

          Mercury Trine Saturn at 27 Aries/Sagittarius.  You judgement is very good today.  Take advantage of this good aspect to make some positive decisions.

May 12 – Mars Trine Jupiter at 14 Gemini/Libra.  This is a positive aspect in air signs.  A good day for optimistic thinking and planning for the future and making plans for travel or education.

May 16 – Mercury enters Taurus until June 6.  Mercury has been in Aries for the past month and the verbal sparks were flying.  Mercury clips his wings and settles down in Taurus.  He thinks things through before he speaks.  Now we can understand the information that has been rushing at us.

May 17 – A grand trine in Air. The  Moon is in Aquarius trine Mars in Gemini and Jupiter in Libra.  Put your ideas into action and let them fly.

May 19 – Saturn Trine Uranus.  Usually Saturn and Uranus don’t get along.  Saturn stands for the tried and true, the traditional way of doing things.  Uranus wants to rebel against tradition.  But a trine is a positive aspect between them.  So this is a good time to revise your long standing beliefs or ways of doing things.  We had this aspect on Christmas Eve 2016 and it will happen again on Nov 11, 2017.  I may be dreaming, but maybe this aspect will bring cooperation between the traditional party and the revolutionary party in our congress, but I’m not sure which is which anymore.

          Venus Opposite Jupiter at 13 Aries/Libra.  Watch out for scam artists today.  If the deal is too good to be true, it probably is.  Jupiter is excessive, instead of spending money on schemes, have another piece of pie, get a pizza-- large with extra cheese.

May 20 – Sun Enters Gemini until June 20.  This is a time to socialize and network. We are light on our feet, we want to flit around like a butterfly, but don’t make too many friends or engagements.  You could run out of time.

May 25 – New Moon at 4 Gemini.  This is the start of the month. A New Moon gives us the flavor of what is coming in the following month.  Gemini is about learning, speaking, writing and communications of all types.

          Venus Square Pluto at 19 Aries/Capricorn. You judge others too harshly.  You could become jealous, possessive and paranoid.  Try to be more tolerant.  Especially if you have the ascendant or personal planets at 19 Aries or Capricorn, or even Cancer.

May 29 – Mars opposite Saturn at 26 Gemin/Sagittarius.   Both of these Planets were termed “malefics” by the old time astrologers and they were right.  This is a difficult aspect to handle.  Gemini likes to talk, Mars is about war, but Saturn says STOP you aren’t ready, there is a limit, there is a boundary to cross first.

Mars is aggressive and Saturn won’t budge.  The positive of this aspect would be controlled action, such as martial arts.  If you have personal planets at 26 Gemini or Sagittarius, you may just experience a slow burn.  So get out and exercise and work with the Mars.  Don’t go on a trip though.   This aspect wins the contest as the worst aspect this month.

May 31 – Mercury Trine Pluto 19 Taurus/Pluto.  You are very convincing today.  If you want to sell anyone anything, do it today, especially if you have person planets or the ascendant at 19 Taurus or Pluto.

JUPITER is in Libra until Oct 2017.  This month he is moving retrograde from 15 to 13 degrees of Libra.  Jupiter is about growth and expansion especially in travel and education and also in the area of your life ruled by the house in your natal chart that holds 13 to 15 degrees of Libra. In Libra, he would bring good news and harmony in relationships.  During the retrograde, you may find that you want to expand inwardly, develop your inner resources or grow spiritually.

SATURN is in Sagittarius until Dec 2017. This month he is moving retrograde so he will travel from 27 to 26 degrees of Sagittarius.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets at 26 to 27 degrees of Sagittarius or Gemini, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules.  While Saturn is in Sagittarius, he is asking about your belief system, your hopes for the future and your travel plans

April 2017 Forecast

A good way to learn astrology is to prepare the chart for someone on the world stage and watch to see how transits to their chart affect them.   Looking at President Trump’s chart, it shows the Sun In Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius and we see that transiting Saturn is going back and forth on his Sun and Moon. His Sun is at 22 Gemini and his Moon is at 21 Sagittarius.   He will be blocked, restricted and pushed back. He will experience many obstacles.  So far his health care bill has been defeated. His popularity is at an all-time low and he is having problems getting Neil Gorsuch, his choice for the supreme court approved.  Saturn turns retrograde on April 6^th and will travel back over his Sun and Moon and stations on August 25 right on his Sun and Moon.  That aspect along with the powerful solar eclipse of August 21 on his Mars and ascendant portends a much more difficult time for him.  I’ll write more about this in the August forecast.  So what is the lesson that we need to learn from Saturn when we have these types of aspects?  Patience – and that is not an easy thing for a Gemini and Sagittarius person.

Dates to Watch:

April 2 – Venus retrograde enters Pisces. Venus has backed up again in Pisces.  She will stay in Pisces until April 28.  Venus in Pisces wants to make love, not war.  Once she goes into Aries, its war, not love.  The placement of Venus in your natal chart shows  who, what and how you love.  

April 5 Mars Trine Pluto at 19 Taurus/Capricorn.  A great aspect.  Mars gains energy from Pluto and they are both in practical earth signs.  Plant a garden, buy some property, do some hard work. See if you have any personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars) or the ascendant at 17 to 21 Taurus or Capricorn.  This is a great day for your career and your income.

April 6 – Saturn Turns retrograde at 28 Sagittarius until Aug 25 of this year. Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Pisces and Sagittarius) have been knocked around by Saturn since he entered Sagittarius in Dec 2014. If you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the ascendant at 25 Sagittarius to 1 degree of Capricorn this day could stop you in your tracks.  Saturn is asking us to practice self- discipline, UGH.  If there are any two signs who hate being thwarted and refuse to practice self-discipline it is Gemini and Sagittarius.

April 7 – Sun opposite Jupiter at 18 Aries/Libra. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 16 to 20 degrees of Aries or Libra, you may have a tendency to eat too much, drink too much and spend too much money today.   Now I can believe this of Aries, but sweet, harmonious Libra?  I’d be shocked.

April 8 - Venus square Saturn at 27 Pisces/Sagittarius. You become very cool and calculating in your relationships.  You may just dump the hippy guy with the guitar you are dating and start hanging out at yacht club to find a sugar daddy.

                   Sun square Pluto at 19 Aries/Capricorn. This is a day to lay low; the psychopaths are out there cruising around.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 17 to 21 Aries/Capricorn you may be the one we are hiding from.

April 9 – Mercury turns retrograde at 5 Taurus until May 3^rd when he turns direct at 24 Aries.  We all freak out when Mercury goes retrograde, I don’t know why.  It gives us some breathing time to look over our life to contemplate on where we went wrong or right and where we want to go from here.

April 11 – Full Moon at 21 Libra/Aries.  A time to focus on our close personal relationships and also on our boundaries in our relationships.  Do we give too much or not enough? 

April 14 – Sun conjunct Uranus at 24 Aries.  You want to break from your routine and do something different.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 11 to 26 Aries, you could be in for a surprise.

April 15 – Venus stations direct at 25 Pisces. Aphrodite is very powerful today.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 23 to 27 Aries you may feel so loving that you don’t want to ruin the feeling with a real life relationship.  You may want to write some love poetry instead.

April 17 – Sun Trine Saturn at 28 Aries/Sagittarius. Another good day for accomplishment. The Sun and Saturn are in creative signs so brush off the paint brushes or sharpen your pencils and get to work.

April 19 – Sun enters Taurus until May 20.   Because Taurus is ruled by Venus, this is a month where we notice the beauty around us.  Especially the beauty in nature.

April 20 – Pluto turns retrograde at 19 Capricorn.  I know you Caps out there are moaning "Oh No, Pluto is backing up in Capricorn, when will he leave my sign and stop creating such havoc."  Well, sorry to say he will be in Capricorn until 2023.  Ouch!  During this Capricorn period he will travel from 19 Capricorn to 17 Capricorn and turn around and travel back over those degrees.  I’m not going to spout the standard new age astrologese that if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 17 to 21 Capricorn that this is a learning experience, I’m sure you are sick of hearing that one

          Mercury enters Aries until May 16.  Mercury is still moving retrograde until May 3.  Mercury in Aries can really get angry and they have a very fast sharp tongue.  They can lay someone out with their verbal retorts.  Be careful.  If you have personal planets in Aries, try not to get into any battle of wits.  Of course, you will probably win, but lose a friend in the process.

April 21 - Mars enters Gemini until June 4.  Mars is very active in Gemini but may have no idea where he is going or why.  This is a good period to put your energy into studying, writing or teaching.

                   Venus square Saturn at 28 Pisces/Sagittarius.  The aspect of April 8 repeats.  What happened on that day?  This may give you a hint for this day.  Love cools off or becomes very practical.

April 24 – Mercury Trine Saturn at 27 Aries/Sagittarius.  Another creative thinking day for Aries and Sagittarius, especially for those with personal planets or the ascendant at 15 to 19 Aries or Sagittarius.

April 28 – Venus enters Aries until June 6. A very lusty area for sexy Venus.  Aries is the sign of the Ram you know.  Think about it.

                    Mercury conjunct Uranus at 25 Aries.  I consider this the genius aspect and in Aries that genius can come out in ideas around leadership.  You want to start an organization, a club around some unusual subject.  You are especially brilliant today if you have personal planets at 23 to 27 Aries or Libra.

 

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:

JUPITER is in Libra until Oct 2017.  This month he is moving retrograde from 19 to 15 degrees of Libra.  Jupiter is about growth and expansion especially in travel and education and also in the area of your life ruled by the house in your natal chart that holds 15 to 19 degrees of Libra. In Libra, he would bring good news and harmony in relationships.  During the retrograde, you may find that you want to expand inwardly, develop your inner resources or grow spiritually.

February 2017 Forecast

This will be a very potent, active month with Venus and Mars in Aries and two eclipses -- Lunar Eclipse on the 10^th and a Solar Eclipse on the 26^th.  It is interesting to note that the Feb 10 eclipse impacts Donald Trump’s birth chart and also the birth chart of Vladimir Putin. The Lunar Eclipse of Feb 10 is on Trump’s Mars in the 12th house, (unconscious anger) and on Putin’s Pluto in the 10^th ( striving to achieve greater power) I’ve heard it said that Trump and Putin get along but in their birth charts Trump’s Mars conjuncts Putin’s Pluto,  I don’t think so.

Major earthquakes are possible 14 days before to 14 days after a solar eclipse.  The total solar eclipse on August 21 looks the most likely for a major US earthquake since the shadow of the eclipse will cover a huge swath of the US from Oregon to South Carolina.

February starts a difficult time for Donald Trump that will last all year. His Sun and Moon are being transited by Saturn.  He will be held down, restrained and feel very frustrated.  It will take a lot of patience and discipline on his part to get through this year

Mars and Venus are in Aries this month joining Uranus. This is a good month to put your own needs first.  Last month with Venus and Mars in Pisces we put others first.

The last part of the month will be a bit overwhelming.  We have 4 planets in stressful aspect to each other--Mars, Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto.

Dates to Watch:

Feb 2 – Mercury Square Jupiter at 23 Capricorn /Libra. You may have some problems in your travel plans.  Jupiter rules long distance travel and Mercury rules schedules. Also, there could be problems in education.  Don’t make long range plans or investment decisions today.

Feb 3 – Venus enters Aries today until Mar 4 when she goes retrograde and then stays in Aries until 2^nd  of April when she backs up into Pisces where she becomes her sweet self again and not the angry harridan she has been in Aries.  But then on April 15 she turns direct and enters Aries again on the 28^th of April.  She doesn’t leave Aries to go into Taurus until June 6. 

Venus is moving close to Mars.  In other words, Aphrodite is chasing Ares, she is very hot to trot in Aries because she is in a conjunct with Uranus, but she slows down (changes her mind?) and turns retrograde before she conjuncts with Mars.  You may see a relationship get off to a fiery start and then one of you backs down.  They do finally join up on Oct 5, when they are both in Virgo. Virgo is not the sexiest kid on the block, but they are caring and loyal.  So it may turn out OK in the end.

Feb 6 – Jupiter turns retrograde until June 9.  Jupiter turns retrograde every year so it’s no big deal.  Jupiter rules expansion. When he moves retrograde, it may be time to consolidate your gains, don’t try to take on more.  The retrograde period could mean a time of philosophical reflection.  Whatever issues or areas in your life you have been working on regarding growth and success may need extra time to put everything in order before you continue.

Feb 7 – Mercury enters Aquarius until January 25.  Mercury is exalted in Aquarius which means that it operates very well here. We can understand life on a much broader level. We are not as prejudiced and opinionated during this time.

Feb 10 – Lunar Eclipse at 7:31 PM at 22 degree of Leo/Aquarius.This is the first eclipse in a long series of eclipses taking place in Leo and Aquarius. This is a powerful eclipse as it sextiles Jupiter and trines Saturn and Uranus. Look at the house in your natal chart that contains these signs. Something begins and something ends sometimes abruptly having to do with the events related to the house it falls in your natal chart. See the meaning of the houses here.  If an eclipse hits a planet in your chart, check out the meaning of the planets here.  Broadly, Leo/Aquarius eclipses are about the individual vs the collective.  How do you fit in with the broader social environment?

Feb 11 – Sun Trine Jupiter at 23 Aquarius/Libra.  A very positive aspect for personal expansion.

Feb 18 – Sun enters Pisces until March 20. We become inclined to the mystical toward psychic impressions. Our imagination is strong.  We may feel more compassionate.  This is also a time when we could be taken advantage of, especially if you have Pisces or Neptune dominant in your birth chart.

Feb 21 – Mercury Trine Jupiter at 23 Aquarius/Libra. You may come across some interesting ideas  A good time for writing, teaching or any intellectual pursuits.

Feb 22 – Mars Square Pluto at 19 Aries/Capricorn.This is probably the nastiest aspect this month.  Aries and Capricorn are cardinal signs-- read hard-headed.  They don’t give an inch.  Mars wants to barrel ahead, take no prisoners and Pluto wants to hold his ground and dig in his heels.  Don’t try to force anything today. Don’t begin anything of importance.  Flow with the Tao, let things come to you.

Feb 25 - Mercury enters Pisces until March 13. Our minds could become a little fuzzy on this one.  But at the same time, we could have highly imaginative, creative ideas.

Feb 26 - Solar Eclipse at 9:58 AM at 8 Pisces.  This is the last of the Pisces and Virgo eclipses.  Because this eclipse conjuncts Neptune it is a dreamy eclipse.  We want to to escape into a fantasy world.  At the same time we will be forced to deal with dynamic energies because of the aspects today and tomorrow. It may result in powerful dreams.

          Mars Conjunct Uranus at 22 Aries. You start getting ‘fed up’ with your boss, your mate, and your friends. Try to keep your irritability under control. Don’t quit your job and head off to the Bahamas.

Feb 27 – Mars Opposite Jupiter at 22 Aries/Libra.  Don’t be extravagant, control your spending especially if you have Sagittarius in your birth chart or major Jupiter aspects.

The last two days shows Mars conjunct Uranus opposite Jupiter and Jupiter opposite Uranus, and Mars and Jupiter square Pluto.  This is a quadruple aspect which also contains a Solar Eclipse. Jupiter may try to bring some Libra balance to this situation, but he is totally trampled under by Mars, Uranus and Pluto. Look for strong resistance to any sort of restraints.  You may have a tendency to make sudden decisions or sudden disruptive events could occur.  This can be really upsetting but these aspects can generate great creative power.  Look to your chart for 20 to 24 Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn.

January 2017

A little recap about last month: There was a New Moon on Dec 29^th at 1:53 AM EST.  New Moons signify fresh beginnings.  Letting go of the old to make room in your life for the new.  Because the New Moon is at the end of 2016, this month is a good time to clean out psychic and literal cobwebs and start your New Year’s Resolutions for 2017.

Also Uranus turned direct at 20 Aries on the same day, Dec 29.  This is good news for all Sun in Aquarius and Aquarius rising people.  This is the start of a very creative productive period for you. Also Uranus rules rebellion and is in the sign of the feisty individual.  Expect the unexpected.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 20 degrees of Aries, try not to go off the deep end.  This will be in effect for 3 days before and after the 29^th.

Donald Trump will be inaugurated on Jan 20.  He will become president during some pretty nasty aspects shown below:

The square between Uranus and Pluto is still in effect.  It ranges from 2008 to 2018.  This aspect is about waking up the strong man archetype or awakening unconscious shadow material.  The Uranus/Pluto conjunction was during 1960 to 1972.  The square is the flowering of the conjunction and we have seen protests since 2008 and we may see more before it is over.  This square falls in Trump’s 6^th and 8^th house which could mean major transformation around work and responsibilities.

Jupiter square Pluto is in effect Oct 2016 through Sep 2017.  This is about wealth and power.  Empire building.  Righteousness and superiority.  This aspect falls in Trump’s 2^nd and 6^th house.  Jupiter in 2^nd is an increase in income, Pluto in 6^th is transformation in workplace.

Jupiter Opposite Uranus square Pluto in effect Nov 2016 through April 2017.  Powerful aspect, it can be creative, and also rules civil disobedience.  This is in Trump’s 2^nd, 8^th and 6^th houses.  He has an increase in income, but he is being transformed, going through a sudden death and rebirth process at the same time in his work and he has to face some of the darker elements of society or government.

Saturn Square Neptune from Nov 2014 through Sept 2017.  This can mean maturing spiritually or waking up in a nightmare.  These planets are in Trump’s 4^th and 7^th house.  This is about adjusting to a new home and separation from partner or confused by the partner.

Now, all of you out there don’t get mad when I say I feel sorry for him. He has inherited a whirlwind.

Dates to Watch:

Jan 1 – Mars conjunct Neptune at 10 Pisces.  Neptune is flowing and Mars is action.  Go with the flow on this one.  You may not feel like getting any work done, so meditate, daydream and try to intuit the inspiration that is flowing toward you today.

Jan 3 – Venus enters Pisces until February 3^rd. This is all about enmeshment and co-dependence.  We want to play kissy face with our insignificant other.  Just don’t do it in the streets and scare the horses.  I have a lot of trivial quotes floating around in my brain. (Send me an email if you know where that quote comes from)

Jan 4 – Mercury enters Sagittarius until Jan 12.   Mercury is retrograde and he is backing up into Sagittarius until Jan 8 when he turns direct and then moves into Capricorn on Jan 12.  If anyone can compete with a Gemini for verbal rat-a-tat-tat machine gun, nonstop talking, it is Mercury in Sagittarius people.  Only believe half of what you hear today.

Jan 7 – Sun Conjunct Pluto.  We have this every year.  It’s no fun; It is the sign of the alpha-male energy.  Go out there swinging or stay home and hide--your choice.

Jan 8 – Mercury turns direct at 4:43 AM EST.  I don’t know about you but his Mercury retrograde that lasted from Dec 19 until today had me seriously considering going for a diagnosis for dementia.  Before I make the appointment, I will wait until after today.

Jan 10 – Sun Square Uranus at 21 Capricorn/Aries.  We have to include Jupiter at 22 Libra in this aspect as he moves into a square with the Sun tomorrow.  This is the most important aspect this month and is a doozy.  But it is not difficult at all, it is totally liberating. Jupiter is in Libra where he wants balance and Uranus is in Aries and he wants an explosion. The Sun is in Capricorn, he wants to remain with his feet on the ground, but good luck with that!   There can be a release of tension that has built up from trying to keep things at an even keel.  If you feel that you are in a rut, this is the day to break free. This aspect creates joy and good fortune. Whatever happens, this aspect will lead to a change in circumstances.  To see how it will affect you, look to the houses in your natal chart that contain Libra and Aries and Capricorn. After you find the house, look for their meaning here.

Jan 11 – Continues the Sun Square Uranus Square Jupiter.  Another day when anything can happen collectively and in our personal lives.

Jan 12 – Full Moon at 6:34 AM EST at 22 Cancer.  This is a flowering of the energy started at the New Moon on Dec 29 last year.  This full moon ties into the Sun, Uranus, Jupiter T-square.  It can be difficult and because it is in Cancer, it can cause difficulties in family relationships.

          Mercury enters Capricorn until Feb 7.  Capricorn is ruled by Saturn a morose planet that worries about everything and everyone and Mercury is the mind.  You get the connection.

          Venus conjunct Neptune at 10 Pisces.  Go on a cruise with loved ones or go to a retreat center and fall on your knees in front of the goddess.  Either one will work. 

Jan 19 – Mars Square Saturn at 23 Pisces/Sagittarius.  This has been in orb for the past 2 weeks. This could interfere with your freedom of movement and it is a bummer that this aspect is happening in the same time frame as the liberating Jupiter/Uranus aspect.  This month you are ready to break free of something, but Mars Saturn is cautioning you to take your time.

          Sun enters Aquarius until February 18.  If you have Aquarius Rising then this is the start of the year for you.  Our personal year starts when the Sun moves into our Rising Sign. Sun in Aquarius is the time where we want to kick up our heels; we have felt suppressed all through the Capricorn month.

Jan 27 – New Moon at 7:07 PM at 8 Aquarius 15.  If you failed in your New Year’s Resolutions, take heart, you can start again today.

          Venus Square Saturn at 24 Pisces/Sagittarius.  You may be concerned about the credit card bill you received this month for the Holidays-- ouch!  If Venus in your natal chart refers to relationships instead of money, this could be a cooling off period in your friendships and love life.

Jan 28 – Mars enters Aries until March 9^th.  Mars loves being in Aries where he can put on the gloves and get in the ring. Look at the house that contains Aries, this is the area that could see you flaring up in anger.  Or if you are enlightened like me, you could just put energy into improving the areas ruled by the house in your chart that contains Aries.

Jan 29 – Mercury conjunct Pluto at 18 Capricorn.  Capricorns don’t have enough to worry about, and now he is worrying that there is a terrorist living next door or that guy in the next cubie is a psychopath. Too much mental energy is stimulated by this one, instead do some research today, and find out what your great-great grandmother was up to.

Jan 31 – Mercury square Uranus at 21 Aries.  This aspect connects to the Mercury conjunct Pluto aspect of the 29^th.   So you are still in a funk, BUT today you decide to take off for parts unknown, but remember “They change their skies but not their minds who run across the sea” (Email me if you know who said that quote and don’t cheat by looking it up on google)

A large percentage of astrologers predicted Hillary would win the election

I've been reading my emails from fellow astrologers on why they were wrong in predicting who would win the election.  One astrology organization had a panel of 12 professional astrologers discuss the election and all 12 predicted Hillary would win.  I don't accept the excuse that she really won because of the popular vote.  We should be able to tell which candidate would be president for 4 years and which would not.  I didn't make a prediction because in the Gore/Bush race, I predicted Gore and then we found out that we had the wrong birth time for Bush.  We don't have any firm birth time for Hillary.  But one of the times suggested, not confirmed, would put transiting Saturn at the bottom of the chart.  I call this the "dark night of the soul" aspect.  Not conducive to success.  In the Hero's Journey, the Hero is in a cave, digging up a treasure which is his true vocation, his gifts.  Then he starts to climb up to bring his true gift to the tribe.  That takes about 7 years.   Trump, on the other hand has his Progressed Sun conjunct his ascendant, people saw him shining forth as a king.  I personally think the placement of the progressed Sun is of major importance.  I think it "trumps" all other aspects.

There are two major problems in predicting.  One is deciding which aspects in the chart is the most important.  The other problem is confirmation bias, meaning we interpret the aspects as confirmation of our beliefs.  In other words, we see what we want to see.  I'm sure all astrologers on that panel were Hillarites.  In fact, I haven't yet met or heard of an astrologer who is a Trumpite.  If you are please comment below.

This month:

This year Thanksgiving weekend could be the Thanksgiving from Hell.  We have Jupiter Square Pluto, Venus Conjunct Pluto, Venus Square Jupiter and Venus Square Uranus.  Let me give you a little scenario as to what this may look like.

Venus, - the hostess has prepared a beautiful dinner with her lovely tableware.  I think this is you.

Jupiter – Your overweight brother-in-law eats too much and drinks too much before he passes out on the couch.

Pluto – His paranoid wife is glowering at you behind the bowl of mashed potatoes.

Venus – As the hostess you are trying to bring some harmony to this motley crew

Uranus – Just when some semblance of sanity arrives. Here comes your crazy uncle who has been sitting outside your house in his van with a camera waiting for a big foot to walk by.  .

Now, you may think this is funny, but if you have personal planets at 13 to 23 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn –this could very well be your experience.

Also, this month, 3 personal planets are changing signs starting on the 9^th. Things will feel different between early Nov and mid Nov.  The background noise will change. We will have different energies to deal with.  Mars enters Aquarius, Venus enters Capricorn and Mercury enters Sagittarius.

Dates to Watch:

Nov 1- Sun Trine Neptune.  You are feeling very idealistic. You really believe what your chosen presidential candidate is saying today.  Don’t worry, you’ll wake up soon.

Nov 5 – Venus Trine Uranus.  This is a good aspect for a party.  Go to a beautiful place and hang out with your friends.

Nov 9 – Mars enters Aquarius until Dec 19.  If you have Aquarius rising, be ready to start a 2 year push for what you want.  Mars is a warrior; the house in your chart that contains Aquarius will see a lot of activity in the areas ruled by that house.  See meaning of houses here. 

Nov 11 – Venus enters Capricorn until Dec 7.  During this time you may decide to class up your act --Some lovely pearls, Persian rugs for your apartment, and some antiques.  Your love life could cool off.  Or you may start to think that the octogenarian down the street is looking pretty sexy.

Nov 12 – Mercury enters Sagittarius until Dec 2.  Mercury is happy in Sagittarius.  Sagittarius likes to tell it as it is and Mercury is a real chatterbox.  So you may have to watch what you say during this time.

Nov 14 – Full Moon at 22 Taurus. The Moon in Taurus is in its exaltation.  A powerful Full Moon. Look for the house in your natal chart that contains Taurus and Scorpio.  These two houses will be lit up by this Full Moon.

Nov 18 – Mercury Square Neptune at 9 Sagittarius/Pisces.  You can be very confused today.  Your speech comes out all muddled.  Keep quiet.

Nov 19 – Neptune turns Direct at 9 Pisces.  Planets are very powerful when they are stationing to turn direct or retrograde.  This Station is directly on the Solar Eclipse degree we had on Sep 1. Read about the Sept 1 eclipse here.  If you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) at 9 degrees of Virgo or Pisces, this station of Neptune could trigger that eclipse.   For all of us, this could be an inspiring day or a confusing one.

Nov 21 – Sun in Sagittarius until Dec 21.  You may feel restless and an urge to travel.  Sagittarius is an extroverted, friendly sign. You could make new friends during this period.

Nov 23 – Mercury conjunct Saturn at 16 Sagittarius.  Sagittarius doesn’t like detailed work but today, you gotta do it.  Work on those spreadsheets and data bases, ugh.

Nov 24 - THANKSGIVING

Jupiter Square Pluto at 15 Libra/Capricorn.  This is the first aspect between these two planets.  They will aspect each other two more times.-- March 30, 2017 and Aug 4, 2017.  Jupiter expands everything it touches; Pluto rules the underworld of terrorism, hidden information -- Wikileaks?  The square equals stress.  But both of these planets can create wealth.  You may be struggling to attain abundance in your life.

Nov 25 – Venus Conjunct Pluto at 15 Capricorn.  We need to consider this aspect along with Jupiter.  Venus is conjunct Pluto and square Jupiter. The three planets together can bring heightened creativity and success in artistic pursuits.

Nov 26 – Mercury Trine Uranus.  Today you could have a delightful conversation with your friends.

Nov 29 – New Moon at 7 Sagittarius.  This is the start of a new month.  The month will bring friends, and travel.  This month you will need a lot of room and freedom to explore.  A good month to be outdoors.

          Venus Square Uranus at 20 Capricorn/Aries.  Your family is starting to irritate you.  You try keeping calm and meditating but you seem to be in a dysfunctional family sitcom.

Nov 30 – Sun Square Neptune at 9 Sagittarius/Pisces.  This is an aspect of love, romance and idealistic friendship.

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:

JUPITER is in Libra until Oct 2017.  This month he moves from 11 to 16 degrees of Libra Jupiter is about growth and expansion especially in travel and education and also in the area of your life ruled by the house in your natal chart that holds 11 to 16 degrees of Libra. In Libra, he would bring good news and harmony in relationships.

SATURN is in Sagittarius until Dec 2017. This month he will travel from 14 to 17 degrees of Sagittarius.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets at 14 to 17 degrees of Sagittarius or Gemini, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules.  While Saturn is in Sagittarius, he is asking about your belief system, your hopes for the future and your travel plans

URANUS is in Aries until 2018.  This month Uranus is retrograde and will move from 21 to 01 degrees of Aries.  We feel a need for freedom and we want to make some radical changes in our life.  I believe in “cooperating with the inevitable”.  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, go on a long vacation, move, or make some major changes in your life.

NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism, dreams) is in Pisces until 2026.  This month he is retrograde until the 19^th of Nov when he turns direct.  He will stay at 9 degrees all month.  A lack of focus, a sense of drifting or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too late can be experienced by those of you with the Sun or Personal Planets at 9 degrees of Pisces or Virgo. For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative expression, increased dreams and spiritual insights. Watch for some really inspired films to come out during the time Neptune is in Pisces. 

PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2023.  This month Pluto stays at 15 degrees of Capricorn.   Profound changes will be felt especially by those with Sun, ascendant or personal planets at 15 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer.

Uranus Trumping Pluto?

The most fascinating part of being an archetypal astrologer is to watch how the planetary archetypes play out on the world stage. A major aspect that I have been writing about since 2010 is Uranus Square Pluto in effect until 2020.   Uranus rules Aquarius and Pluto rules Scorpio.

On stage we have Donald Trump with Uranus conjunct the Sun and Opposite his moon. He is a double Uranus person and Hillary Clinton is a Scorpio with 3 major Pluto aspects.  We are not sure of her birth time but one of the times some astrologers are using gives her Scorpio rising.  So she may be a quadruple Pluto person!

The role of Uranus is revelation and in this case Trump is illuminating parts of the US shadow – racism, sexism, religious intolerance to name just a few.  He has been “assigned” this job by the Gods.  Uranus is the revealer --the planet that shakes everything up.  Think of Uranus as the Trickster or the Jester.

The planet of the shadow is Pluto. In classical mythology Pluto sometimes wore the cap of invisibility. Hillary keeps things close to the vest, is a member of the Plutocracy and her purpose is to deal with the underworld for instance terrorism and war.   Now enters another Uranian character - Julian Assange.  He has Uranus square the Sun.

On Oct 16, we experienced a crises Full Moon, so named because it is close to the earth which makes it very powerful.  But, also, this full moon was conjunct Uranus.  Full Moons are in effect 4 days before and45 days after the Full Moon.  So I could see this moon period sparking the Uranus archetype. 

At this time we had a swarm of WikiLeaks dumps from Assange.  Trump revealed these leaks in the debates and to his many follows.  So I thought of those two in a baseball game, Assange throwing the pitch and Trump batting it out of the park.  What fun.

This article isn’t about who is going to win the election.  Uranus types may be fun to watch, but here is a hint --there is no more powerful planet than Pluto.

August 2016 Forecast

You think we are going into the dog days of summer?  Think again,August will be the crazed monkey days of summer.  We are still in the throes of the Saturn square Neptune aspect.  This month Saturn is at 9 to 10 degrees of Sagittarius and Neptune is at 10 to 11 degrees of Pisces.  The square between these two planets creates a conflict between reality and fantasy.  This aspect will impact those of us with the ascendant or personal planets (Sun, Mercury, Moon, Venus or Mars) at 9 to 12 degrees of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces).  Early in the month, Mercury is coming in to square both Saturn and Neptune.  This could bring in pessimistic thinking and plans without any prospect of realization.  Venus comes in mid-month and will square both planets.   This could create a disappointment in love. Later this month Mars is coming into help Saturn, to make him more energetic.  Mercury, Venus and Mars are considered triggers, they come in and stimulate the action promised by the Saturn/Neptune Square.

Saturn loves to punch holes in our illusions. What fantasies are we living under at this period in our lives in the US?  Is it that we live in a democracy and have free and fair elections?  Is it that the next president we elect will solve all of our problems?  I have worked with many people recently waking up to personal illusions such as:  My children will take care of me when I get older.  My marriage will last forever.  If I get another degree I will get a higher paying job. If I find the right meditation technique I will become enlightened.   Saturn is the “stop kidding yourself planet”.  Saturn is all about growing up. The house in your natal chart that contains 10 Sagittarius and 10 Pisces will be the area of life that would have a wake-up call.   .  See meaning of houses here.

Mercury turning retrograde on August 30.

Dates to Watch:

Aug 1 – Venus Trine Uranus.  This is a good day to start the month.  Look for pleasing entertainment possibilities that include beauty and music.  You could meet someone there that would be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

          Sun Trine Saturn. You can get involved in a new project that will increase in value and improve with the passing years

Aug  2 – New Moon 10 Leo in a trine to Saturn. Activities will start in the house that contains 10 Leo in your natal chart.  If you want people to respond to an ad, a marketing campaign or your “For Sale” sign in the front of your house.  Do it on the New Moon.  A good time to start a healthy routine.

          Mars enters Sagittarius until Sep 27.  What I notice with people who have Mars in Sagittarius, they love horses and horse races.  Mars entering Sagittarius will bring in sports events.  The Olympic Games will take place during this period.  In your personal life, the house that contains Sagittarius will get activated. You will put a lot of energy into the areas ruled by the house.

Aug 5 – Venus enters Virgo until August 29.  Venus doesn’t like to be in Virgo.  But Aphrodite (Venus) did marry Vulcan (Virgo).  Why did she do that?  Because he was skillful and made her a beautiful girdle.  Venus in Virgo can create something beautiful in a detailed Virgo kind of way.  Maybe a lovely data base (is there such a thing?)  Or maybe a colorful web page.  But don’t forget Virgo is the Virgin. Aphrodite is hot to trot.  Relationships that are not grounded in the practical here and now may have problems.

Aug 6 – Mercury Square Saturn at 9 Virgo/Sagittarius.  Mercury is a chatterbox who talks too fast and too often-- Saturn is slow and methodical.  Mercury is also the mind.  We can get melancholy and blue on this one.  The lesson here is slow down and practice mindfulness.

          Venus Square Mars at 1 degree Virgo/Sagittarius.  Not good for finances, you are spending too much.  It’salso not good for relationships, intimate or social.  Don’t be too aggressive.  Can’t think of a positive note for this, just stay home, don’t talk to anyone.  Certainly, don’t have a party.  No one will show.

Aug 7 – Mercury opposite Neptune at 11 Virgo/Pisces.   This could bring in a scandal or something that was hidden from view.

Aug 10 – Mercury Trine Pluto at 15 Virgo/Capricorn.  You could receive help from someone or become a member of an organization you have wanted to join for a long time.

Aug 13 – Saturn turns direct at 9 Sagittarius.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 9 Sagittarius or Gemini, this could bring in a realization that you have been on the wrong path or on how to get where you want to go.  Its about making an adjustment to your career path and finally moving ahead.

          Venus Square Saturn at 9 Virgo/Sagittarius.  You are not very pleasant today,  you are feeling grouchy and unloved.  Maybe you are unloved, ever think of that?

Aug 14 – Venus opposite Neptune at 11 Virgo/Pisces.  You are very confused today.  Not good for borrowing or lending money.  Don’t let anyone persuade you into doing something foolish.

Aug 16 – Sun trine Uranus at 24 Leo/Aries.  This is a good aspect.  You could have some very interesting emails and meet some unusual people today.

Aug 17 – Venus trine Pluto at 15 Virgo/Capricorn.  This is the day to get all gussied up and go and find that millionaire!

Aug 18 – Lunar Eclipse at 25 Aquarius at 5:26 AM sextiles Uranus. This eclipse will shine a light on the areas of your life shown by the houses in your natal chart that contain 25 Aquarius and 25 Leo.

Aug 22 – Sun enters Virgo until Sep 22. A time to go back to school and to get serious.  Summer fun is over.

Aug 24 – Mars conjunct Saturn at 9 Sagittarius.  Another trigger to the Saturn Square Neptune.  On this one we feel stymied, can’t move ahead, others are in our way or we are in our own way.

Aug 26 – Mars Square Neptune at 10 Sagittarius/Pisces.  Don’t gossip; don’t give away any information that you don’t want others to know.  And please don’t spill your guts on facebook.

Aug 27 – Venus conjunct Jupiter at 27 Virgo.  Finally we get a good aspect.  Have fun today. Have a party, but don’t drink too much.

Aug 29 – Mercury Conjunct Venus at 29 Virgo.  Words of love, write some poetry.

          Venus enters Libra until Sep 23.  Venus is happy here.  Venus rules Libra, you have Aphrodite and Aphrodite doing a dance.  Take out those ole stiff paint brushes.  Or fix up the dreary décor in your house.

Aug 30 – Mercury turns retrograde until Sep 22.  Don’t panic.  This is a good time to stop and think about where you are going, what are your plans for the coming year.  Be still.  Just don’t buy a car or electronic equipment.  Anything started during the period will come up for revision after Mercury goes direct on Sep 22.
