Eclipses of November and December 2021

The first eclipse on November 19 is a Lunar Eclipse taking place in the sign of Taurus and Scorpio.  The second Eclipse is a Total Solar Eclipse on Dec 4th and takes place in Sagittarius.  The ancients believed that during an eclipse,” the mighty will fall". They bring endings and beginnings-- births and deaths. The energy from an eclipse can last up to six months and can also become active a month before the actual eclipse.

 

Lunar Eclipse on November 19, 2021 at 27 Taurus

This is a partial eclipse and will be visible in North and South America, Australia and parts of Europe and Asia.  

On a Lunar Eclipse, something will end and on a Solar Eclipse, something will begin. A Lunar Eclipse is an opportunity to break habits or eliminate socially conditioned patterns of thoughts and behaviors that stand in the way of self-realization. 

A Lunar Eclipse can make us more aware of our patterns, and our unconscious motivations. This period of time can bring up old memories and feelings.  Full moon eclipses can bring things to completion that you have been working on. The Sun opposite the Moon lights up the Moon and brings previously unexamined areas of your life into awareness. Repressed energies emerge for confrontation and resolution.  Pay attention to your dreams. Lunar Eclipses are more emotional than Solar Eclipses.  Lunar Eclipses shine a light on things we weren’t aware of.

This is the first of 8 eclipses to take place on the Taurus Scorpio axis of the zodiac for the next two years. So this begins a cycle of change that relates to our values, our possession (Taurus) and our ability to regenerate our lives (Scorpio).

This is a very complicated Lunar Eclipse because of the many other planets that it is aspecting. It is opposing Mercury at 21 Scorpio, squaring Jupiter at 23 Aquarius, in a trine to Pluto at 24 Capricorn and in a Sextile to Neptune at 20 Pisces. I’m going to take a stab at what could result from all of these planets with a Lunar Eclipse. Mercury could mean that sudden news arises during this eclipse that upsets the status quo; Jupiter could mean that news or the events that happen at this time are exaggerated or over-the-top.  Neptune could mean we aren’t seeing this news or the events clearly. Pluto means that the news or events reveal corruption or something that was buried.  But it is in a trine to Pluto and sextile to Neptune so what comes out could be healing in some way.

 

Total Solar Eclipse on Dec 4, 2021, at 12 degrees of Sagittarius

This eclipse will be seen only in Antarctica.

Solar Eclipses tend to relate to sudden events that disrupt our day-to-day functioning; they are the crisis that seems to come out of nowhere and that suddenly demands all of our conscious attention and focus. They tend to stir things up on a physical and conscious level much more than Lunar Eclipses.

A Solar Eclipse is a powerful new moon so make plans for the future. Set your intentions during this eclipse around Sagittarius themes – foreign travel, freedom, the truth, belief systems and issues of truth and justice. publications, and higher learning.  The 6 months following this eclipse is an ideal time to make a fresh start in all of these Sagittarius areas.

, This Solar eclipse is conjunct Mercury at 14 Sagittarius and sextile Saturn at 9 Aquarius.  With Mercury involved with this eclipse it could be about teaching and writing.  Saturn will add practicality and grounding on all that you attempt. I like this Solar Eclipse, it is must less complicated than the Lunar Eclipse of Nov 19.

 

The Dec 4 Solar Eclipse at 12 Sagittarius is very important for the U.S. because it is conjuncting the USA Ascendant.  Astrologers have been trying to get an exact birth chart for the US for a long time. For the birth date of the US, most of us use July 4, 1776, but we were always disagreeing about the time of birth. The time of birth is important because it gives us the ascendant or rising sign. One of the many birth charts for the US that were considered was the Sibley chart. That is the chart that was constructed based on the recollections of Ebenzer Sibley, a doctor in London who documented the time that the final documents of the Declaration of Independence were signed. This Sibley chart shows 12 degrees of Sagittarius rising.  I was never sure about the Sibley chart until 9/11 happened. Pluto was exactly at 12 degrees of Sagittarius on that day.  The ascendant being our face (NYC) and Pluto being destruction.  Now this Solar Eclipse of Dec 4 is exactly on our ascendant.  I’m not saying that an eclipse is as impactful as Pluto on the ascendant, but it could mean we lose face in the outer world, that others see through our mask.  This is a south node eclipse that brings past karma. But don’t forget Eclipses could play out during the following 6 months and they have been known to manifest a month before it is exact.  So we may be able to see hints of these events or news as early as Nov 4.

How will these eclipses affect you?

Note to my Astrology Clients.  Use your Planetary Placement and Ascendant Sheet to find if the following eclipses will have a major impact on you.

Eclipses are contrary to the status quo. If impacted by one of these eclipses, your life will not run on the same track it has been on.  But that can be a good thing. Some view eclipses as release and renewal points.  If your birthday falls on or is close to the dates of an eclipse your life will change dramatically in the months and years ahead.

Eclipses repeat every 19 years.  We had solar and lunar eclipses at the same points In November and December of 2002. Look back to what happened then. This will continue a theme that was playing out at that time. But remember, sometimes eclipses get triggered after they occur so events can come in after the eclipse especially within 6 months after the event.

An eclipse tends to emphasize matters related to the house it falls in on your natal chart and what planets it conjuncts or opposes.  The areas ruled by the houses or planets will demand more energy and time from you, at least until the next eclipse in April and May of 2022.   Eclipses open doors and invite you to come in, illuminating and stimulating areas of your life that need your attention.

Remember that planetary energies are archetypal and archetypes can be expressed in many different ways. It’s really based on your consciousness and how you decide to work with these energies.

 

The Lunar Eclipse of Nov 19 at 27 degrees of Taurus will affect you if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and/or Mars) or the ascendant at 25 to 29 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio.  Also, look at your natal chart for the 2 houses that hold 27 degrees of Taurus and Scorpio. This eclipse will stir up events related to those houses. What are your values, do you own your possessions or do they own you, what can you let go of, what needs to be reborn?

 

The Solar Eclipse on December 4 at 12 degrees of Sagittarius will affect you if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 10 to 14 degrees of Sagittarius or Gemini.  Also, look at your natal chart for the house that contains 12 degrees of Sagittarius.  It may mean the end of one set of circumstances and the beginning of another.

Sep 6 is the best day of the month with a new moon and three trines. Take advantage of this energy, to start something new.  

Dates to Watch:

Sep 2 – Mars Opposite Neptune at 22 Virgo/Pisces.  Try to keep your feet on the ground.  A lot of high strangeness surrounds you.  Something you were sure of can fall through.  Try to get all the facts before you make a move.  If you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars) or the ascendant at 20 to 24 degrees of Virgo or Pisces, there could be some deception in your sex life.

Sep 4 – Mercury Trine Saturn at 4 Libra/Aquarius.  This is a good time to study and make plans to accomplish all of your goals.  Writing will flow on this one.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 2 to 6 degrees of Libra or Aquarius, you could receive some news that is very useful.

Sep 5 – Venus Square Pluto at 24 Libra/Capricorn.  You could be manipulated by a loved one today or maybe your social circle contains a person who is crass and uncooperative.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 26 of Libra or Capricorn, try to compromise.

Sep 6 – New Moon at 14 Virgo trine Uranus.  Virgo is the most discriminating sign. He is detail-oriented and wants to get things right.  He also likes to organize and clean up his surroundings.  You will embody all of these traits this month. With the trine to Uranus, some stimulating people and ideas can come in this month.  I think it is a good idea to set an intention on a New Moon.  Set an intention that you will discover innovative ways to get organized and clean out some of the clutter.

          Mars Trine Pluto at 24 Virgo/Capricorn.  This is a powerful trine. The energy of Mars flows with the energy of Pluto.  This is a good time to make constructive changes to your attitudes and environment.  Eliminate non-essentials.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 26 of Virgo or Capricorn, you have energy and drive and the strength of your convictions.

          Venus Trine Jupiter at 25 Libra/Aquarius.  Another good trine.  A time to relax and enjoy the abundance you have created.  This is good for the arts and cultural entertainment. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 23 to 27 of Libra or Aquarius, this is a good time to have a party.

          Sun Trine Uranus at 14 Virgo/Taurus.  Changes in your affairs can be exciting and stimulating.  You could hear from someone from the past.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 12 to 16 of Virgo or Taurus, you could gain the respect of others because of your brilliant ideas.

Sep 10 – Venus enters Scorpio until Oct 7.  You could get mighty possessive of your loved ones on this transit. It’s OK to look for more commitment and stability, but remember you can’t control anyone but yourself.

Sep 14 – Mars enters Libra until Oct 30.  You could all become big flirts on this transit.  You want to dress up and strut your stuff.  You want to put your energy into the arts or beautifying your environment.  There may be efforts made for peace around the world.

          Sun Opposite Neptune at 21 Virgo/Pisces.  Everyone around you is trying to pull you into their drama.  You are very sensitive now, but toughen up a little.  You could be disappointed in some matter or person today. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 19 to 23 of Virgo or Pisces, regard all schemes of others with a grain of salt.

Sep 16 – Sun Trine Pluto at 24 Virgo/Capricorn. You can receive help from others today.  They see that you are important and a leader.  Any problems of passive resistance in your group and will come out in the open where you can deal with it. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 26 of Virgo or Capricorn, try not to go mad with power.

Sep 17 – Venus Square Saturn at 7 Scorpio/Aquarius.  You can feel very lonely and unloved today.  You want to avoid parties and emotional encounters, but since we are all feeling this way, we have a lot of company even though the last thing we want is company. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 5 to 9 of Scorpio or Aquarius, use this energy to beautify your environment.

Sep 20 – Full Moon at 28 Pisces trine Pluto.  We crave some sort of escape on this Full Moon.  Go on a vacation, preferably near the water.  You are very sensitive now, so pick a place away from the crowds. A meditation retreat would be the best use of this Pisces Full Moon.

          Mercury Trine Jupiter at 23 Libra/Aquarius.  You feel happy, optimistic, and expansive.  You feel that everything is going your way. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 21 to 25 of Libra or Aquarius, your cup runneth over.

Sep 22 – Sun enters Libra until Oct 23. Libra is the sign of balance and harmony.  No sign is more social or charming. Plan a wedding or an engagement party during this time.

          Mercury Square Pluto at 24 Libra/Capricorn. Someone in your environment is bull-headed.  Is it you? Are you trying to shove your ideas or plans down someone’s throat?  Stop it. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 26 of Libra or Capricorn, it could very well be you.

Sep 23 – Venus Opposite Uranus at 14 Scorpio/Taurus.  Venus wants to cuddle, Uranus wants to be left alone.  You can see the problem here.  But Uranus trumps (excuse the word choice) Venus on this aspect.  So let your lover and family roam a little. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 12 to 16 Scorpio of Taurus, try not to make some crazy moves in your relationships.

Sep 25 – Mars Trine Saturn at 7 Libra/Aquarius. I love this aspect because I am a real Saturn lover.  Mars wants to accomplish something and Saturn says, go ahead I will give you all of the support you need. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 5 to 9 of Libra or Aquarius, this is a good time to start a project that you want to endure into the future.

Sep 27 – Mercury turns retrograde at 25 Libra until Oct 18 when he goes direct at 10 Libra.  He finally goes into Scorpio on Nov 5.  Mercury is staying a long time in Libra, so if you are a Libra and/or have Mercury in Libra you may get some new exciting ideas during this time. Mercury retrograde gives us a chance to slow down and review all of the plans we have made.

Sep 29 – Venus Trine Neptune at 21 Scorpio/Pisces. You feel vulnerable but someone in your environment is tender and considerate. This is a good time to go to the theater or watch a great film. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 19 to 23 of Scorpio or Pisces, You could extend your compassion to someone who is weak or defenseless.

          Sun Trine Saturn at 7 Libra/Aquarius. You will find it easy to assume responsibility now and honor your commitments to others who need you.  Your ideas are efficient and you are well organized.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 5 to 9 of Libra or Aquarius, work for long-term goals.

Sep 30 – Venus Square Jupiter at 22 Scorpio/Aquarius. It's time to be reckless, flamboyant, and self-indulgent.  Go ahead; eat a quart of chunky chocolate ice cream.  You could put your confidence in the wrong person. And take on projects you can’t possibly handle. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 20 to 24 of Scorpio/Aquarius,  don’t get on the scales after this day is over.

 

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:

JUPITER is in Aquarius and is moving retrograde.  This month he will travel backward from 25 Aquarius to 22 Aquarius.   Jupiter is about growth and expansion especially in travel and education and also in the area of your life ruled by the house in your natal chart that contains Aquarius. Jupiter in Aquarius is about coming up with new techniques and joining forward-thinking groups.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant between 20 degrees of Aquarius, and 27 degrees of Aquarius, expect expansion and blossoming in that area of your chart.

SATURN is retrograde and is moving backward in Aquarius from 8 to 6 degrees.  Saturn is the old traditional ruler of Aquarius.  So he is happy here.   If you have the ascendant or any personal planets 4 to 10 degrees of Aquarius, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. While Saturn is in Aquarius, he will run around trying to restrict all of the social media that he will call fake news.  He hates to see freedom of expression which is what Aquarius is all about.

URANUS is in Taurus until Apr 2026. This month he is moving retrograde and stays at 14 degrees of Taurus. You will feel a need for freedom and for making some radical changes in your life at this time.  I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable’.  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, (12 to 16 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio) go on a long vacation, move or make some major changes in your life. Taurus is the earth.  Expect earth events such as earthquakes volcanos or major weather events during the period that Uranus is in Taurus.

NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism, dreams) is in Pisces until 2026. This month Neptune is retrograde and moves from 22 to 21 degrees of Pisces all month.  A lack of focus, a sense of drifting, or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too late can be experienced by those of you with the ascendant or Personal Planets at 19 to 24 degrees of Pisces or Virgo. For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for some really inspired films to come out during the time Neptune is in Pisces. 

PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2023.  This month, Pluto is moving retrograde and stays at 24 degrees of Capricorn all month.  Profound changes will be felt especially by those with the ascendant or personal planets at 22 to 26 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer. What needs to die in order to be reborn?

Saturn Square Uranus, the defining aspect in 2021

Saturn Square Uranus is the most important aspect we will have in 2021.  The first time we had this square was in Feb and the second was on June 14, the last one will be in Dec 2021.  This aspect denotes limitations on freedom as we see on all of the twitter and YouTube posts that have been taken down.  This also denotes tension between liberal and conservative ideas.  In our personal lives, we are torn between taking off on a new adventure and changing our life to give us more freedom (Uranus) vs staying in our comfort zone (Saturn).  If you have strong Uranus placements in your chart and a lot of Aquarius planets you may opt for the former.  If you have a lot of Taurus planets and a strongly placed Saturn you may stay with the tried and true.  This is a time to deal with what is no longer working and to fix it once and for all.

This April will not be cruel unless you are still in lockdown. Our state of MD is opening up. Some of our restaurants are at full capacity.  I hope it is safe to enjoy this month where you are.

For four Thursdays in March, I taught a course on the Wizard of Oz at the Jung Society of Washington via Zoom.  Teaching on Zoom is a real challenge because you are talking into a blank screen and can’t see how the attendees are receiving the information.  I want to thank all of you who emailed me your appreciation of the course and how some of you started to see Oz metaphors everywhere.  For more programs scheduled at the Jung Society, see https://www.jung.org/

This is an easy month.  There are just some niggling problems when Pluto raises his ugly, disheveled head and urges us to dominate the people around us.  In this month those of you born In April or January between the 13^th and 20^th will have Pluto knocking you around a bit. But they are minor aspects. So not to worry.

The only major aspect this month is the Saturn/Uranus square that is only 2 degrees apart this month. We will be experiencing this all year. Saturn is the authority, the parent and Uranus is the rebellious teenager or the two- year old having a tantrum.  Saturn is trying to control the protests and rebellions around the world.  To see the protests in England, Amsterdam and Paris, I have to watch these protests on the media in other countries because our mainstream media isn’t showing them.  That is a perfect example of this aspect.  Restriction (Saturn) of free speech (Uranus). Saturn and Uranus don’t get along at the best of times, but when they are in a square aspect, we can all experience the difference in their energies.  In mythology, Saturn castrated Uranus, ouch.

No retrogrades this month except Pluto who turns retrograde on April 27. Pluto is a very slow mover, so he is preparing to change directions this month and stays at 26 degrees of Capricorn all month.

April 3 – Mercury enters Aries until April 19. You can make snap decisions during this time.  Try not to be too impulsive and aggressive.  There is such a thing as verbal abuse.  It could be from you or from others.  But your thinking will be clear and sharp.

April 9 – Mars square Neptune at 21 degrees of Gemini/Pisces.   Mars in Gemini wants to do too many things at once.  On this day, Mars is totally confused as to which direction to go.  Also, Mars likes to tell everyone everything about their motives and plans.  Don’t do that today, it's best to keep secrets especially if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the ascendant at 19 to 23 degrees of Gemini or Pisces.  Neptune likes to reveal things that are best hidden.

April 11 – New Moon at 22 degrees of Aries.  This new Moon is sextile Mars in Gemini, sextile Saturn in Aquarius and Square Pluto in Capricorn. This is all about getting things done.  You want to take the lead in all the projects you get involved in.

          Venus Square Pluto at 25 Aries/Capricorn.  You are judging your friends and loved ones too harshly.  The psychic detective in you is operating at full throttle.  That lets you see other’s faults.  Turn that magnifying glass around and look at yourself.  An interesting experience if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 23 to 27 Aries or Capricorn.

April 14 – Venus enters Taurus until May 8.  Venus rules Taurus, so she is right at home in this sign.  Here she exhibits her Hestia side. Hestia is the Goddess of the Hearth.  She loves to bake bread and create a comfortable home.  BUT, contrary to Cancer, she doesn’t really need a family in the home.  She loves to be alone.

April 16 – Sun Square Pluto at 26 Aries/Capricorn.  You need a lot of self-control today as others are trying to push you around.  Try to maintain your equilibrium and be pleasant.  See if that works, but it may not if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 24 to 28 Aries or Capricorn.

April 17 – Mars Trine Jupiter at 26 Gemini/Aquarius.  Any action you take today tends to be favorable.  Work is enjoyable and progress is made.  It’s a good time to work on your finances especially if you have planets at 24 to 28 degrees of Gemini or Aquarius.

          Mercury Square Pluto at 26 Aries/Capricorn.  Verify all of the bills that come to you.  And beware of scam artists.  Something today, may cost you a considerable sum.  Make sure you check the fine print especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 24 to 28 degrees of Aries or Capricorn.

April 18 – Sun Conjunct Mercury at 26 Aries.  This is a good day to work on something you have always wanted to do.  You could take a trip; work on your memoirs or work for that promotion you feel is due you. The Sun lights up your mind, especially those of you with personal planets or the ascendant at 24 to 28 Aries.

April 19 – The Sun enters Taurus until May 20.  Things will start to slow down. Now you will have time to smell the roses and decide which direction you want to take.  You are less impulsive than you were when the Sun was in Aries.  But also less active.  Taurus can be ever so lazy.  But that’s OK, this is the time of year to relax.

          Mercury enters Taurus until May 3.  You had the impulsive, cutting tongue and your emails were too curt during Mercury in April. You are a lot nicer now.  You think before you speak.

April 22 – Venus Conjunct Uranus at 10 degrees if Taurus.  Venus doesn’t like to make waves in Taurus, but having Uranus egging her own she can create havoc in all of her relationships.  Cool it if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 to 12 Taurus or Scorpio.

April 23 – Mars enters Cancer until June 11. Mars is a driving energy; he wants to get things accomplished.  In Cancer he is asking you to work on your home.  Clean out the attic.  De-clutter.

April 24 - Mercury conjunct Uranus at 10 Taurus. You could receive some unexpected news today.  You may have to take a trip on very short notice.  Your brain is overactive and full of bright ideas. Take notes on these ideas if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 to 12 Taurus.

April 25 – Venus and Mercury Square Saturn at 12 Taurus/Aquarius and Mercury conjuncts Venus at 12 Taurus.

This triple aspect could bring a sudden release from tension in relationships.  You could say goodbye to loved ones and maybe cut loose from entanglements.

April 26- Full Moon at 7 Scorpio.  This Full Moon is opposite Uranus in Taurus and trine Mars in Cancer.  Full Moons are intense at the best of times, but when it is in Scorpio, a water sign, in a trine to Mars in a water sign, we can be overwhelmed with emotion.  But, Uranus can bring an unusual, unprecedented way to express these emotions.

April 27 – Pluto turns retrograde at 26 degrees of Capricorn until Oct 6. During this time he will impact 24, 25 and 26 degrees of Capricorn.  You know what this means for you Caps out there, but especially Capricorn rising at these degrees. Hold on to your hat, you are going to go thru a purging and a rebirth whether you want to or not.

April 30 – Sun Conjunct Uranus at 10 degrees of Taurus.  We feel rebellious and restless for no reason.  Take the day off and go on a hike.  Don’t be contrary and ornery especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 to 12 degrees of Taurus.

 

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:

JUPITER is in Aquarius until May 2021 when he enters Pisces, turns retrograde in June of 2021 and heads back into Aquarius from the end of July until Dec 30, 2021.  This month Jupiter moves from 23 to 28 degrees of Aquarius.  Jupiter is about growth and expansion especially in travel and education and also in the area of your life ruled by the houses in your natal chart that contains Aquarius.  Aquarius is about coming up with new technological inventions and rebelling against the status quo.  During a protest or revolution, Jupiter gets to make a lot of noise and give speeches full of hyperbole.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant between 21 degrees of Aquarius, and 0 degrees of Pisces, expect expansion and blossoming in that area of your chart.

March 2021 Forecast

Two mundane astrologers that I trust say that the pandemic is ending and it will be over by the time of the New Moon on March, 13. I don’t know if it’s true but I have decided to believe them, mainly because the crocuses are out and it’s too painful to think about being locked down during another spring.  I hope we all have immunity at this point; I really don’t like being called a ‘herd’, do you?

March is a very good month.  It’s imaginative and dramatic with no harsh aspects.   Jupiter has separated from Saturn and they have both separated from Pluto so the horrid grouping of planets that was with us during 2020 is over.

Mar 3 – Mars enters Gemini until Apr 23.  This is the most important ingress of the year.  Mars is adding initiative and energy to the air signs (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius).  Mars in Gemini wants to go after knowledge and network with friends.

Mar 4 – Mercury conjunct Jupiter at 17 degrees of Aquarius.  There is a lot of energy around making an important declaration.  Such as ‘I’m King of my castle and I’m not going to take crap from anyone anymore.’  But because Jupiter is involved, try not to be too obnoxious about it.  Mercury/Jupiter connections are about wisdom, and a high level of intelligence, they both rule schools.  You may decide to go back to school on this one or become a coach, mentor or teacher.  Put your blog up and announce you are the new kid in town.

Mar 10 – Sun conjunct Neptune at 20 degrees of Pisces.  Your imagination is working overtime.  You can be an inspiration to others. Take care of others who are ill or confined if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 18 to 22 degrees of Pisces.

Mar 13 – Venus conjunct Neptune at 20 degrees of Pisces.  This is favorable for travel and creative projects. Envision what you want to come into your life. 

New Moon in Pisces at 20 degrees.  This is a good month for sleep, dreams, meditation and exploring altered states of reality. We are most impressionable right now and can become a victim of vampires.  Be careful about who you invite into your space.  Check to see if you can see their reflection in a mirror. But also this month we will be the most sensitive and compassionate to those less fortunate.

With the New Moon and Venus and Neptune all at 20 degrees of Pisces, we have 4 planets conjunct between the 10^th and 13^th. And these are mostly very beneficial planets.  I think the Gods are feeling sorry for us because of 2020 and are giving us these beautiful transits.  Sun, Moon, Venus and Neptune together mean friendship, love, dreams, and the bliss of being loved by another person.  This can be romantic and intoxicating. But, don’t forget that Neptune can be pretty tricky.  He can create delusions about relationships and a tendency to want to escape through alcohol or drugs.  So keep your feet on the ground and enjoy these days. This is a very creative period for those of you with personal planets or the ascendant at 18 to 22 degrees of Pisces or Virgo.

March 14 – Daylight Savings Time begins at 2 AM.

March 15 – Mercury moves into Pisces until April 3.  Mercury likes to be a smart aleck.  He thinks he knows everything and can figure things out by using logic and reason.  Well, in Pisces, he gets lost. He can’t see through the fog and feels he is swimming against the tide.  It’s best to give in and write some poetry or paint a picture.  The Pisces readers out there have no problems with this one.  On the other hand, the Virgos hate it.

March 20 – The Spring Equinox.  The Sun moves into Aries until April 19.  This is an important turning point of the year.  It’s a shift when the light takes over.

Mar 21 – Venus enters Aries until April 14. The ole-timers say that Venus is in her detriment in Aries.  What an awful word.  It means Venus is not cuddly and sweet here.  But this is the age of women’s equality, she is allowed to state ‘this is what I desire this is what I want and to be hotheaded and pursue her love interest while he hides in the closet.

          Mars trine Saturn at 10 degrees of Gemini and Aquarius.  I love this one, I’m pro Saturn and also love Gemini and Aquarius signs.  Don’t think astrologers are not prejudiced, we are. You have the ability to do a thoroughly first-class job today. You have the concentration and the experience.  Get to work on a creative project if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 to 12 degrees of Gemini or Aquarius.

Mar 23 – Mercury square Mars at 11 Pisces/Gemini.  Keep your fingers under control as you write emails.  You tend to be too blunt and can piss people off.  You need to practice diplomacy if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 9 to 13 degrees of Pisces or Gemini.

Mar 26 – Sun conjunct Venus at 5 Aries. A great day to make new friends.  A new love interest can come in.  Your popularity is increased.  Don’t stay home on this one.  Go out and meet people, especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 3 to 7 degrees of Aries or Libra.

Mar 27 – Passover begins at sundown.

Mar 28 – Palm Sunday

          Full Moon at 8 Libra/Aries.  We want to assert our individuality but we also want to cooperate.  We need to make important choices and decide who or what we like.  Remember Paris had to make the difficult decision and pick the most beautiful goddess because they were all fighting on Olympus.  Now is when you may need to make a difficult decision also, especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 6 to 10 degrees of Libra or Aries.

Mar 29 – Mercury conjunct Neptune at 21 Pisces.  Mercury, who has been confused since he went into Pisces on March 15, joins up with Neptune today, the ruler of Pisces.  My advice, if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 19 to 23 Pisces.-- stay in bed.

 

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:

JUPITER is in Aquarius until May 2021 when he enters Pisces, turns retrograde in June of 2021 and heads back into Aquarius from the end of July until Dec 30, 2021.  This month Jupiter moves from 16 to 23 degrees of Aquarius.  Jupiter is about growth and expansion especially in travel and education and also in the area of your life ruled by the houses in your natal chart that contains Aquarius.  Aquarius is about coming up with new technological inventions and rebelling against the status quo. During a protest or revolution, Jupiter gets to make a lot of noise and give speeches full of hyperbole.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant between 14 and 25 degrees of Aquarius, expect expansion and blossoming in that area of your chart.

SATURN is in Saturn where he will stay until Mach of 2023. This month he moves from 8 to 11 degrees of Aquarius.  Saturn is the old traditional ruler of Aquarius.  So he is happy here.  He will spend a lot of time in Aquarius trying to dampen Jupiter’s enthusiasm.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets 6 to 9 degrees of Aquarius, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. While Saturn is in Aquarius, he will run around trying to restrict all of the social media that he will call fake news.  He hates to see freedom of expression which is what Aquarius is all about.

February 2021 Forecast

Have you realized that you may not be in Kansas anymore? I will be presenting a course on “An Esoteric View of the Wizard of Oz.” for the Jung Society of Washington DC next month. The author L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) was such a fascinating character. Among other things, he was a feminist and a theosophist.  The Oz books are full of symbolism that I will talk about during this class.  I will combine my knowledge of astrology and archetypes to bring an understanding of Dorothy, Toto, and her other companions on their journey to Oz. I predicted a rebellious action last month because of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius, the sign of revolution squaring Mars and Uranus in Taurus.  Mars is aggressive action and Uranus rules Aquarius, the rebel.  We saw the protests at the Capitol building, but what I missed is that the sign of Taurus rules banking, Wall Street, and money in general.  Aquarius rules the internet. As soon as Mercury and the Sun also moved into Aquarius, the short stock rebellion began.  A small group bought stocks in companies that the Wall Street Hedge Fund companies had shorted, in other words, the Hedge Fund Managers betted on these companies going out of business.

 Some of the millennials that pulled this off lived through 2008 when many of their parents lost their homes and some of these young people had to drop out of college.  Then they saw the bankers who created this stock market crash get bailed out by our Government.   This group of millennials gathered up their stimulus checks and bought stocks in companies that the Hedge Fund companies were planning to destroy.  WOW.  This is major and it’s not just about the stock market, this is about the internet being more powerful than Wall Street, Congress, or the president. A seismic shift in power has happened.  It will be fascinating to see how this story plays out in the future.

Mercury is moving retrograde most of this month, until the 20^th.  Don’t panic, if you are a writer, you may be able to do your best work during this period. Your mind slows down and lets you review what you have worked on.  If you are not a writer, you can look back and get a clearer picture of where you have come from and where you want to go from here.  Just don’t start a new project during this period.  Work on the old stuff.

          Sun Square Mars at 13 degrees of Aquarius/Taurus. Try to practice restraint, you are full of vim and vigor and want to take on the world.  If you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars) or the ascendant at 11 to 15 degrees of Aquarius or Taurus, try to treat other people with kid gloves and don’t ask for favors, they might bite your head off.

Feb 6 – Venus Conjunct Saturn at 5 degrees of Aquarius.  This is a time when you could heal a dispute with a friend.  Your feelings are more practical now, especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 3 to 7 degrees of Aquarius.

          Venus Square Uranus at 6 degrees Aquarius/Taurus.  This is not too good for domestic harmony.  You could move around the house telling everyone what to do, this is not going to have any effect except to irritate others.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 4 to 8 degrees of Aquarius or Taurus, no one wants to hear your not-so-friendly suggestions.

Feb 8 – Sun Conjunct Mercury at 20 Aquarius.  The Sun is shining its light on your mind today.  You could come up with some really bright ideas.  Write them down especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 18 to 22 degrees of Aquarius.

Feb 10 – Mercury Square Mars at 17 Aquarius/Taurus.  Keep your tongue and pen under control today.  You have a strong urge to speak your mind, especially to your boss.  Cool it if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 15 to 19 degrees of Aquarius or Taurus.

Feb 11 – New Moon at 23 Aquarius.  This is the start of an Aquarian type month.  We will be starting new ventures that have to do with new technology, communities, groups, and innovative ideas.  Look for the house that contains Aquarius, this is where you will feel a strong need to express your individuality.

          Venus Conjunct Jupiter at 12 Aquarius.  Love can bring you a lot of happiness today.  You feel like you have been under a cloud and now you can express your love and appreciation for everyone around you.  Both Venus and Jupiter rule self-indulgence so stay away from that chunky chocolate ice cream in your freezer.  Try to watch your weight if you have 10 to 14 degrees of Aquarius.

Feb 13 – Mercury Conjunct Venus at 14 Aquarius.  Valentines Day is tomorrow.  Write out the card you bought today because your words will flow and be romantic and sappy.  This is an especially good day to email your friends about how much you appreciate them if you have 12 to 16 degrees of Aquarius.

Feb 14 – Mercury Conjunct Jupiter at 13 Aquarius.  You could receive some pleasing news.  A good day for study.  Just watch out for exaggeration and hyperbole.  But if that is what you want to do, you could run for office. Start your political campaign if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 11 to 15 degrees of Aquarius.

Feb 17 – Saturn Square Uranus at 7 degrees of Aquarius/Uranus.  This aspect occurs every 14 years and will repeat two more times this year-- June 14 and December 24.    I think this will manifest as attempts for more restrictions on freedom of speech on the internet. In your personal life, it would be the urge for freedom versus the feelings of responsibility.  It could bring changes that you do not welcome. This will be especially stressful if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 5 to 9 degrees of Aquarius or Uranus.

Feb 18 – Sun enters Pisces until March 20.  This is a mellow month for the arts and for peace.  I’m sure we would all love to see that after what we have been through.

Feb 20 – Mercury turns direct at 11 Aquarius.  Your mind, studies, speech, and mental projects are free to move ahead now.  You will notice this especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 9 to 13 degrees of Aquarius.

Feb 24 – Mars trine Pluto at 25 degrees of Taurus and Capricorn.  What a positive powerhouse of an aspect. This is a great time to clean up all of the toxic crap from your home and your mind.  You will have the energy to do it -- so get busy. Pluto rules death and rebirth so don’t be afraid to throw things out of your life, better stuff will come in.  I’m talking to you Taurus and Capricorn, the hoarders.  Let go if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 23 to 27 degrees of Taurus or Capricorn.

Feb 25 – Venus enters Pisces until March 21. When Venus is in Pisces, you can totally lose your boundaries and become a limp dishrag for anyone who comes around and shows the slightest interest in you.

Feb 27 – Full Moon at 8 Virgo/Pisces.  This is the culmination of the New Moon we had back on Feb 11.  This new moon is about balancing your sense of the magical with your critical mind.

January 2021 Forecast

This is the worst month of the year, sorry! But after the end of January, we won’t see anything like the horrific aspects we have had in 2020 and this month.  Last year we were dealing with Mars (aggression and anger) squaring Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto.  Mars went retrograde in Aries so he passed over these planets three times.  Now in January, he moves into milder Taurus, BUT Jupiter and Saturn have moved into Aquarius, so we have the same squares again, which will start to break up late in the month. A square is an aspect that creates tension, obstacles, and challenges in our life.  

Mars will enter Taurus on January 6.  Now Mars in Taurus is a much cooler character than Aries, the hothead.  But Mars in Taurus is represented by the bull quietly chewing his cud peacefully until someone ticks him off.  Be careful you are neither the ticker nor the tickee this month.

The bull can really start pawing the ground and snorting around mid-month – Jan 19, 20, and 21. At that time we have the Moon triggering all of these Mars aspects. On these three days, we have the Moon and Mars in Taurus right on top of Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) and then the Sun enters Aquarius the sign of revolution to conjunct Jupiter and Saturn. I’m sure it has not escaped you that this is the time of the US inauguration.

During these three days, we may see massive protests, civil disobedience, and surprise attacks.  Contrary to popular opinion, astrology cannot predict specific events but can predict what types of energies are in the air at specific times.  So these rebellions could be against the incoming administration or against the imposed health restrictions, mandatory vaccine programs, and health passports. But, because this is a global transit, it may not show events only in our country. We may see an earth event in another part of the world.  Uranus in Taurus portends violent earth conditions such as volcanoes, earthquakes, and tornadoes, etc.

One more thing to mention – Mercury turns retrograde on the 30^th of the month.  This aspect could come as a relief.  The difficult aspects of the year are over, now we can rest and recover.  Use the Mercury retrograde period to look over the past year and what we have learned.

Jan 1 – New Year’s Day – May the New Year bring you peace, joy, and happiness.

Jan 4 – Mercury Conjunct Pluto at 24 Capricorn.  Keep your ideas and your intentions to yourself; otherwise, you could be humiliated or disappointed.  Really clam up if you have the ascendant or any personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars) at 22 to 26 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer.

Jan 6 – Mars enters Taurus until March 3.  This aspect will calm down the anger and aggression we have been feeling throughout 2020 while Mars was in Aries.  We can focus and get some solid work accomplished now. But at the beginning of this transit, Mars will conjunct Uranus and square Jupiter and Saturn.  So don’t calm down yet.  You may be forced to look at how you deal with food and money,

Jan 8 – Mercury enters Aquarius until March 15.  He turns retrograde on the 30^th at 26 Aquarius, backs up to 11 Aquarius when he turns direct on Feb 20.

          Venus enters Capricorn until Feb 1.   We won’t want to start a relationship now unless we first find out how much is in their bank account.

          Mercury Square Mars at 0 Aquarius/Taurus.   Everyone wants to say what’s on their mind. Maybe that’s not a good idea if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 28 degrees of Capricorn or Aries to 2 degrees of Aquarius or Taurus.

Jan 9 – Venus Trine Mars at 0 Capricorn/Taurus.  Take some action to secure your future.  Start saving and put some money in the bank. That kind of action will flow today.

          Mercury Conjunct Saturn at 2 degrees Aquarius. Not a good day to let your imagination run wild.  Instead, pay attention to details.  This can be a little depressing if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 0 to 4 degrees of Aquarius or Leo.

Jan 11 – Mercury Conjunct Jupiter at 5 Aquarius.  You could receive some very good news today.  Your mood becomes more optimistic. A great day to study and promote your work.  This is an especially good day if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 3 to 7 Aquarius or Leo.

Jan 12 – Mercury Square Uranus at 6 Aquarius Taurus.  I kind of like Uranus.  He is my chart ruler (your chart ruler is the ruler of the sign of the ascendant in your chart).  Of course, others may not like how you express your Uranus, but Aquarius rising types are used to being unpopular. You could get really sarcastic today.  Take it easy don’t worry so much.  Try to stay calm if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 4 to 8 Aquarius or Taurus.

Jan 13 – New Moon at 23 Capricorn. This New Moon is conjunct Pluto. This coming month can help you let go of things that need to pass from your life and to make plans for the future.  There could be some power struggles with others while you are trying to accomplish this. This New Moon connects to the U.S. Mercury and Pluto.  Look for the media trying to cover some dark secrets they don’t want to get out. There could be some behind-the-scenes manipulation going on.

          Mars square Saturn at 3 Taurus/Aquarius.  This is not fun.  We have plans and things we want to accomplish and Saturn is saying ‘not on your life’ Stop! Reconsider.  You will be especially frustrated for a few days especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 1 to 5 Taurus or Aquarius.

          Venus trine Uranus at 6 Capricorn/Taurus.  A good day to plan your garden and order the seeds.  Or you can visit an art gallery (online, of course).  You are searching for beauty today. 

Jan 14 – Uranus turns direct at 6 Taurus.  Uranus started slowing down at the beginning of this month and won’t really pick up steam until mid-February.  During this time, we could have some surprising information or events.  Uranus likes to shock and to bring in unusual people or situations.  Taurus definitely does not like this kind of thing. But Taurus types have had to adjust with Uranus in their sign since March of 2019. Try to adjust to this topsy-turvy period if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 4 to 8 Taurus or Scorpio.

          Sun Conjunct Pluto at 24 Capricorn. There can be important transformations in your life today.  You could gain a leadership position, or be undermined by the people who wanted that position.  Watch out for people with an iron fist in a velvet glove if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 26 Capricorn or Cancer.

Jan 17 – Jupiter Square Uranus at 6 degrees of Aquarius/Taurus. I call these two – ‘get outta town’ planets. You are going to want to leave, take off in the car, and go somewhere you have never been before.  Also, you want to study outrageous subjects that are not acceptable by academia. (You could really go off the deep end if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 4 to 8 degrees of Aquarius or Taurus.

Jan 19 – Sun enters Aquarius until the 18^th of February.  I love this time of the year.  The Sun is coming back, it is brighter out.  We are looking for freedom and want to break from tradition.  This is also a good time to make some interesting friendships.

Jan 20 – Mars conjunct Uranus at 6 Taurus.  You may be fed up with what is going on around you.  Try to use this energy in a positive manner, go for a long walk, work out in the gym, or do some yoga.  Otherwise, you could cause disruption in your work and in your relationships.  Be especially careful if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 4 to 8 Taurus or Scorpio.

The three days of Jan 19, 20, and 21 can be explosive.  The moon in scorpion is a trigger.  It is a global transit so it could affect the U.S. inauguration or we could have a major earth event such as a volcano or disruptive weather patterns.  They are all ruled by Mars conjunct Uranus in Taurus.

Jan 23 – Mars Square Jupiter at 7 Taurus/Aquarius.  Another hyper day.  If you can, go on a trip.  Jupiter expands everything it touches Here he is expanding your energy and also your anger.  The advice I gave yesterday, applies here.  I’m sorry Taureans out there, but it just happens to be your time.  Stay calm if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 5 to 9 Taurus or Aquarius.

          Sun conjunct Saturn at 4 Degrees of Aquarius.   We may see more restrictions and controls from the government.  Using the ole outworn and excuse that they are just trying to keep us safe.  We may not believe them this time and start to raise a kerfuffle.  (look it up).  You may feel stymied by circumstances if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 2 to 6 degrees of Aquarius.

Jan 26 – Sun Square Uranus at 7 Aquarius/Taurus.  You have a tendency to make mistakes today because you are too stirred up about the events happening around you. Take it easy if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 5 to 9 Aquarius or Taurus.

Jan 28 – Full Moon at 9 degrees Leo and Aquarius. This Full Moon is opposite Jupiter and conjunct Mars. This is a powerful full Moon. There could be clashes and conflicts and Jupiter blows it all of proportion.   All of these conflicting planets may make it difficult to finish what you have planned.

          Venus Conjunct Pluto at 24 Capricorn.  If you are too innocent, say you are a Gemini, Libra, or Sagittarian type--you could be dragged into the underworld by Plutonian energies coming from your psyche or from a really dark, nasty person.   Be careful while you are out smelling the flowers if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 26 Capricorn or Cancer.  What?  There are no flowers right now. Well, be careful anyway.

          Sun Conjunct Jupiter at 9 Aquarius. This could give you a temporary lift in mood.  Jupiter is the jovial guy, a good time to enjoy your life.

Jan 30 – Mercury turns retrograde until Feb 20.  Look at the house that Aquarius is located.  You could change your mind and be totally spacy during the retrograde. You know the drill about Mercury retrograde; don’t buy any mechanical or electronic gadgets.  (bad news for Virgos who love this kind of stuff).  Go back and edit and review your work.  Read documents carefully before you sign.

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:

JUPITER is now ensconced in Aquarius until May 2021 when he enters Pisces, turns retrograde in June of 2020, and heads back into Aquarius at the end of July until Dec 30, 2021.   This month Jupiter moves from 2 to 9 degrees of Aquarius.  Jupiter is about growth and expansion especially in travel and education and also in the area of your life ruled by the houses in your natal chart that contains Aquarius.  Jupiter is much happier in Aquarius than he was in Capricorn.  Capricorn wanted Jupiter to work, ugh.  Aquarius is about coming up with new technological inventions and rebelling against the status quo. During a protest or revolution, Jupiter gets to make a lot of noise and give speeches full of hyperbole.

SATURN is fully ensconced in Saturn where he will stay until Mach of 2023. This month he moves from 1 to 5 degrees of Aquarius Saturn is the old traditional ruler of Aquarius.  So he is happy here, but not as strong as he was I Capricorn. He will spend a lot of time in Aquarius trying to dampen Jupiter’s enthusiasm  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets 1 to 5 degrees of Aquarius, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. While Saturn is in Aquarius, he will run around trying to restrict all of the social media that he will call fake news.  He hates to see freedom of expression which is what Aquarius is all about.

URANUS is in Taurus until Apr 2026. This month he is moving retrograde but turns direct on the 14^th. This month he stays at 6 degrees of Taurus.   Expect some shake-ups during the week of the 14^th.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 4 to 8  degrees of Taurus or Scorpio, you will feel a need for freedom and for making some radical changes in your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable’.  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, go on a long vacation, move or make some major changes in your life. Taurus is the earth.  Expect earth events such as earthquakes volcanos or major weather events during the period that Uranus is in Taurus.

NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism, dreams) is in Pisces until 2026. This month Neptune is moving from 18 degrees to 19 degrees.  A lack of focus, a sense of drifting, or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too late can be experienced by those of you with the ascendant or Personal Planets at 16 to 21 degrees of Pisces or Virgo. For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for some really inspired films to come out during the time Neptune is in Pisces. 

PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2023.  This month, Pluto is moving from 24 to 25 degrees of Capricorn all month. Profound changes will be felt especially by those with the ascendant or personal planets at 22 to 27 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer. What needs to die in order to be reborn?

November and December 2020 Eclipses

ECLIPSES in November and December 2020 

Two eclipses will be occurring in Gemini and Sagittarius.   Look for planets and houses with these signs.  The theme that these planets and houses represent will become active during this period. 

The first eclipse on November 30 is a Lunar Eclipse taking place in the sign of Sagittarius and Gemini. The second Eclipse is a Solar Eclipse on December 14 and takes place in Sagittarius.  The ancients believed that during an eclipse,” the mighty will fall". They bring endings and beginnings-- births and deaths. The energy from an eclipse can last up to six months and also become active a month before the actual eclipse.

The traditional belief is that rulers are born or die at the time of an eclipse.  President Trump* was born on a Lunar Eclipse in 1946, Prince William was born on a Solar Eclipse in 1982 and Princess Diana died on a Solar Eclipse in 1997. People born on an eclipse have a light that shines out to others and they tend to be popular or important people.

 

Lunar Eclipse on November 30,  2020, at 8 Gemini/Sagittarius

This eclipse will be seen in North and South America, Australia, and parts of Asia

On a Lunar Eclipse, something will end and on a Solar Eclipse, something will begin. A Lunar Eclipse is an opportunity to break habits or eliminate socially conditioned patterns of thought and behavior that stand in the way of self-realization. 

This eclipse affects two signs:  Sagittarius and Gemini. This eclipse rules the mind, foreign travel, belief, and Issues of freedom, truth, and justice. 

A Lunar Eclipse can make us more aware of our patterns, and our unconscious motivations. This period of time can bring up old memories and feelings.  Full moon eclipses can bring things to completion that you have been working on. The Sun opposite the Moon lights up the Moon and brings previously unexamined areas of your life into awareness. Repressed energies emerge for confrontation and resolution.  Pay attention to your dreams. Lunar Eclipses are more emotional than Solar Eclipses.  Lunar Eclipses shine a light on things we weren’t aware of.

 

Solar Eclipse on December 14 at 23 Sagittarius

This eclipse will be visible from Chile and some parts of Argentina.

Solar Eclipses tend to relate to sudden events that disrupt our day to day functioning; they are the crisis that seems to come out of nowhere and that suddenly demands all of our conscious attention and focus. They tend to stir things up on a physical and conscious level much more than Lunar Eclipses.

A Solar Eclipse is a powerful new moon so make plans for the future. Set your intentions during this eclipse around Sagittarius themes – travel, freedom, optimism, humor, and generosity.  The 6 months following this eclipse is an ideal time to make a fresh start in all of these Sagittarian areas.

 

How will these eclipses affect you?

Eclipses are contrary to the status quo. If impacted by one of these eclipses, your life will not run on the same track it has been on.  But that can be a good thing. Some view eclipses as release and renewal points.  If your birthday falls on or is close to the dates of an eclipse your life will change dramatically in the months and years ahead.

Eclipses repeat every 19 years.  We had solar and lunar eclipses at the same points In November and December of 2001. Look back to what happened then. This will continue a theme that was playing out at that time. But remember, sometimes eclipses get triggered after they occur so events can come in after the eclipse especially within 6 months after the event.

An eclipse tends to emphasize matters related to the house it falls in on your natal chart and what planets it conjuncts or opposes.  The areas ruled by the houses or planets will demand more energy and time from you, at least until the next eclipse in May and June of 2021.   Eclipses open doors and invite you to come in, illuminating and stimulating areas of your life that need your attention.

Remember that planetary energies are archetypal and archetypes can be expressed in many different ways. It’s really based on your consciousness and how you decide to work with these energies.

 

The Lunar Eclipse of Nov 30, 2020 at 8 degrees of Sagittarius/Gemini will affect you if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and/or Mars) or the ascendant at 6 to 10 degrees of Sagittarius or Gemini.  Also, look at your natal chart for the 2 houses that hold 6 to 10 degrees of Sagittarius and Gemini. This eclipse will stir up events related to those houses.

 

The Solar Eclipse on December 14 at 23 degrees of Sagittarius will affect you if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 21 to 25 degrees of Sagittarius.  Also, look at your natal chart for the house that contacts 21 to 25 degrees of Sagittarius. It will mean the end of one set of circumstances and the beginning of another. Let go!

September 2020 Forecast

Those pesky planets traveling through Capricorn just won’t leave you alone.  Two of them; Jupiter and Saturn will stop in the sky this month to make sure you get whatever lessons they are trying to teach you. They are more intense when they stop like that.  Pluto doesn’t need to stop to be intense; he’s a monster in his own right.  So these are the degrees to look for in your birth chart; 20 to 24 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer, 23 to 27 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer, and 25 to 18 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer.  Also, look at the house that contains Capricorn.  This is the area where you will feel expansion, restriction, and regeneration all at the same time.

The big news this month is still Mars, the Planet of the angry warrior, in Aries, the sign of the angry warrior. He is in his own sign which makes him more powerful and unfortunately more angry than usual.  We will have Mars in Aries all year because he will go retrograde this month and then direct in November and finally leave Aries in January 2021.  This month Mars turns retrograde so that he can back up and kick Saturn, Jupiter, and Pluto again as he did last month.  Look at the house in your natal chart that contains Aries as this house will see more activity than usual. Try not to be drawn into conflicts, instead, use this energy to be more productive in your Aries house.  See the meaning of the houses here.

Aries represents individual power and Capricorn rules government, institutions, and corporations.  We can see this as Individuals protesting in the streets but running up against repressive forces of the government.  The time period from now through January could include violence during these protests. I see civil unrest around these issues throughout the rest of the year right through the election in the US.  I know some astrologers that are backing off from trying to make a prediction about the presidential election because the planetary configurations are too confusing.  This also holds true for the inauguration date.   

Between the 9^th and 12^th, we will have 7 planets moving retrograde.  They are reiterating old problems and clearing the ground before they go direct.  Are you repeating past issues in your life?

Sep 1 – Mercury Trine Pluto at 21 Virgo/Capricorn.  Start off the month by doing some soul searching. What do you want to accomplish this month?  Someone in a powerful position could be of help.

Sep 2 – Full Moon at 9 Virgo/Pisces.  This Full Moon is sextile Uranus at 10 Taurus.  Full Moons bring things to fruition. This is the culmination or closure of an issue in your Pisces and Virgo house.  Full Moons shine a light into dark corners.  There may be more disclosures.  Pisces is an emotional sign so feelings come to the fore.

Covid 19 hit 6 months ago when the Sun was in Pisces and the Full Moon was in Virgo.  Now that we have a Full Moon in the same signs, we may find out something important about the pandemic.  Watch the news during the period of 3 days before and 3 days after this Full Moon.

          Venus Opposite Saturn at 25 Cancer/Capricorn.  This shows a conflict between your need for security and safety vs control and dominance.  This will come out in our personal relationships.  Which part are you playing?   You may feel restricted and not able to reach out to others.  But this is a good day for contemplation as it isn’t a sociable aspect.  Be realistic about your relationships and finances especially if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the ascendant at 23 to 27 Cancer or Capricorn.

          Sun Trine Uranus at 10 Virgo/Taurus.  You are original and creative.  This is a positive aspect that helps you experiment with new ideas.  This is a good time to manifest your wishes.

Sep 3 – Mercury Trine Saturn at 25 Virgo/Capricorn.  You can get a lot done today.  Sort and organize your office.

Sep 4 – Venus Square Mars at 27 Cancer/Aries. Try to find compromise today if you feel that your relationships are too one-sided. There may be fisticuffs with your loved one if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 25 to 28 Cancer or Aries.

Sep 5 – Mercury enters Libra until Sep 27.  Libra does not like conflict so Mercury will try to talk his way around problems.  This time period is great for communications with loved ones.  You become friendlier than usual.

Sep 6 – Venus enters Leo until Oct 2.  You want your values and emotions out there to be on display so that everyone notices you.  But others may not think you are so cute.  But, it’s a playful time, have fun.

Sep 9 – Mars turns retrograde until Nov 13.  Some say Mars loses some power when he goes retrograde.  My experience is that he just gets sneaky and whacks you when and where you least expect it.  While he is retrograde, he will travel from 28 Aries to 15 Aries.  If you have planets from 13 to 0 Taurus, you may have some simmering anger you need to release.

          Sun Trine Jupiter at 17 Virgo/Capricorn.  This is a positive, optimistic aspect.  Spend time with your closest friends.  Explore the world.

Sep 11 – Sun Opposite Neptune at 19 Virgo/Pisces. This can bring in some low energy.  Don’t try to start a new project on this one.  It can be confusing and distracting today.  Watch out for deception if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 15 to 19 Virgo or Pisces.

Sep 12 - Jupiter turns direct at 17 Capricorn. There could be a break in your financial matters.  Any news that comes in could be exaggerated.   But you start to be more optimistic about your plans. Just don’t go overboard.  Take it slow.  What house is 17 Capricorn located in your natal chart?  Some good luck could happen around the area of that house.

Sep 14 – Sun Trine Pluto at 22 Virgo/Capricorn. You could collaborate with someone you trust today.  Or you could get advice from someone that is advantageous.

Sep 15 – Venus Square Uranus at 10 Leo/Taurus. Your relationships can be exciting but unpredictable.  You may be looking for a new partner that is a bit crazy just to keep you entertained.  Venus also rules money so don’t invest in a wild, crazy idea today, especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 to 12 Leo or Taurus.

Sep 17 – New Moon at 24 Virgo. This is the best New Moon of the year because it trines Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn in Capricorn.  Look for a new start.  The New Moon and the planets it trines are all in earth signs.  A good time to declutter, organize, and do some maintenance around the home. Definitely do an intention on what you want to create in your physical world.

          Mercury Square Jupiter at 17 Libra/Capricorn.  You feel optimistic today.  You love to talk and could fabricate a lot of stories just to see if anyone will believe you.  You could become the teller of tall tales if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 15 to 19 Libra or Capricorn.

Sep 21 – Mercury Square Pluto at 22 Libra/Capricorn. Some powerful person is trying to influence your thinking.  Be on guard especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 20 to 24 Libra/Capricorn.

Sep 22 – Sun enters Libra until Oct 22.  Accept other people’s points of view.  Bring harmony and beauty to your surroundings including those around you.

Sep 23 – Mercury Square Saturn at 25 Libra/Capricorn.  Frustrating.  You have great ideas and want to carry them through to completion, but ole Saturn is putting on the brakes.  Wait a few days, especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 23 to 27 Libra/Capricorn.

Sep 24 – Mercury Opposite Mars at 26 Libra/Aries.  Arguments.  Try not to be quick on the trigger with your words.  Try not to offend others.  Use this energy as a mental stimulus. Hold your tongue especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 24 to 28 Aries/Libra.

Sep 27 – Mercury enters Scorpio until Dec 1.  Mercury turns retrograde on Oct 13, reenters Lira on Oct 27, turns direct on Nov 3, and reenters Scorpio Nov 10.  When Mercury is in Scorpio, your mind becomes inward-focused.  You could become a touch paranoid.   Do you just think they are out to get you?  Or are they really out to get you?

Sep 28 – Venus Trine Mars at 25 Leo/Aries. Figure out a plan that will free you from financial worry.

Sep 29 – Saturn turns direct at 26 Capricorn. Saturn went into Capricorn in Dec 2017.  This is his goodbye trip because in December he moves into Aquarius.  Tie up loose ends in your Capricorn house.

          Mars square Saturn and Pluto and opposite Venus.  This is called a T-Square.  What we are seeing is a collapse of the old order. (Saturn and Pluto) replaced by individual rights (Mars) and compromise (Venus).   Mars is in its own sign, making it strong, but Saturn is also in its own sign.  This aspect represents an intense struggle.

Don’t forget about his excessive qualities. In Capricorn, he could work too hard, and be too focused on the material and forget to smell the roses

SATURN is now in Capricorn and is moving retrograde until the 29^th of September when he turns direct at 25 degrees of Capricorn.  This month he stays at 25 degrees of Capricorn.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets at 23 to 27 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. While Saturn is in Capricorn he is asking about your ambitions, your career, and your work ethic. In Capricorn, he is right at home and wants to build something. He stimulates you to make plans to be successful in the outer world.

August 2020 Forecast

As mentioned last month, Mars went into Aries on June 27. He is in his own sign which makes him more powerful and unfortunately more angry than usual.  We will have Mars in Aries all year because he will go retrograde in September and then direct in November and finally leave Aries in January 2021.   I predicted that August would see protests start around the world.  Well, people started getting angry earlier than I predicted.  I see civil unrest throughout the rest of the year right through the election in the US. The reason I saw August as a hotheaded month is that Mars will square Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto.  Those three are the planets in Capricorn that we can blame for the mess we are in today.  Now in August, we add more irritation and rage to the mix.  Look at the house in your natal chart that contains Aries as this house will see more activity than usual. Try not to be drawn into conflicts, instead, use this energy to be more productive in your Aries house.  See the meaning of the houses here.

Mercury and Venus will also challenge the Saturn/Pluto conjunction which is all about deconstruction of the old patriarchal order. Also, these two planets will be in a difficult aspect to Jupiter which is aligned with Pluto.  Jupiter rules truth and justice, Pluto rules corruption, and secrets.  We will learn about more disclosures this month.

Those of you with a birthday between the 10^th of July through the 21^st of July, Dec 10 through Dec 20, and April 8 through April 21^st will have your Sun batted around by a lot of the planets this month.  See below for the types of events and the dates.  Stay loose; try not to get frustrated or angry.

Aug 1 – Mercury Opposite Pluto at 26 Cancer/Capricorn.  Mercury, the Messenger, if bringing up information that was meant to stay hidden.  This aspect stimulates us to be outspoken and impulsive.  Try not to offend people, especially those in authority.  Don’t pick a fight with your boss if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the ascendant at 24 to 28 degrees of Cancer or Capricorn.

Aug 2 – Sun Square Uranus at 10 Leo/Taurus.  Uranus is the Lord of Revolution and Rebellion.  Try to stay grounded; you can get thrown for a loop by all of the crazy events happening around you.  Be deliberate and purposeful, especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 to 12 Leo or Taurus.

Aug 3 – Full Moon at 11 Leo/Aquarius This full moon squares Uranus. Full Moons shine a light into dark corners.  What we find in those dark corners may be a surprise.   Aquarius is about truth and Leo is about creative expression.  Aquarius is about awakening, revolution, and shocks.  Look for changes in the status quo.  Leo is heart-centered and Aquarius is head centered.  Bring these together and you can work independently on creative projects.  Look for the two houses in your natal chart that contains Leo and Aquarius, the topics of these houses will be illuminated.

          Mercury Opposite Saturn at 27 Cancer/ Capricorn.   Postpone any long trips. Mercury likes to be up and moving around, but Saturn puts the kibosh on all of that.  Saturn can also give you writer’s block and that could be a good thing and could stop you from sending out angry emails.  Use this Saturn/Mercury aspect to study a difficult subject especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 25 to 29 Cancer or Capricorn.

Aug 4 – Mars Square Jupiter at 19 Aries/Capricorn.  Your anger is getting out of control.  You want to get away from it all.  Instead, get in shape, exercise, play some sports; use that over-exaggerated energy in a positive way, especially if you have personal planets and the ascendant at 17 to 21 Aries or Capricorn.

          Mercury enters Leo until August 19.  You have stopped being so moody.  Now you want to play, create,
and have fun. Go ahead and have a good time until August 18 when you will have to get back to work.

Aug 7 – Venus enters Cancer until Sep 6.  You want to cuddle up with someone, eat popcorn and watch TV.  That’s OK, but let’s not overdo it.  Popcorn is full of starch and the TV is full of unreal fantasies.  Sorry.

Aug 10 – Mercury Square Uranus at 10 Leo/Taurus.  You could unexpectedly find a new teacher or subject matter that interests you. You may get some sudden news that you don’t like.  You are all up in the air and worried about everything.  Have you tried meditation or drugs, legal or otherwise?  Do something to calm down if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 to 12 Taurus or Leo.

Aug 13 – Mars Square Pluto at 22 Aries/Capricorn.  This is kinda dangerous.  It can bring in explosive confrontations. Don’t force changes.  Go with the Tao.  Someone in your environment is trying to push you in a direction you don’t want to go. Resist, especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 20 to 24 Aries or Capricorn.

Aug 15 – Uranus stops in the sky at 10 degrees of Taurus and turns retrograde.  Taurus rules some important stuff like food and money and Uranus rules stops and starts and interruptions.  We could see the stock market go haywire and also some hiccups in our food supply.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 to 12 Taurus or Scorpio, you may be too wired to do anything today.  But watch for inspired, progressive ideas.  Check the house that contains 10 degrees of Taurus, this is where you may come up with some innovative solutions to the problems regarding the areas ruled by that house.

Aug 16 – Sun Trine Mars 23 Leo/Aries.  Finally, a positive aspect.  Our energy flows today, we can accomplish a lot and it won’t feel like work.  Plan for future projects if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 21 to 25 Leo or Aries.

Aug 17 – Mercury Trine Mars at 24 Leo/Aries.  Another good one. The mind is activated.  You want to write, blog, podcast, and communicate your great ideas.  You have the energy for all of that especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 26 Leo or Aries.

          Sun Conjunct Mercury at 24 Leo.  The light of the Sun is shining right on your mind today.  This supports the Mercury Trine Mars aspect.

Aug 18 – New Moon at 25 Leo.  This New Moon is trine Mars.  Leo is proud, maybe too proud and egotistical.  But you need a boost in your feelings of inadequacy sometimes.   This could be a month of fun and activity.  Look at the house in your birth chart that contains Leo. This is where you will start fresh and bring in new things.

Aug 19 – Mercury enters Virgo until Sep 5.  Mercury is in his rulership and exaltation.  Mercury loves being in Virgo, he likes to take off the cover from his computer and start stabbing it with a screwdriver. Don’t do that, let’s find another way to use Mercury in Virgo --watch some moves or read some books and then criticize the hell out of them.

Aug 22 – Sun enters Virgo until Sep 22.  A time to get grounded, go to school and study.

Aug 24 – Mars Square Saturn at 26 Aries Capricorn.  Controlled, constructive energy.  Channel your anger even though someone may place a burdensome obligation on you.  You feel your freedom of movement is limited.  Try to be patient; this won’t last long.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 28 Aries or Capricorn, you could rebel against this pressure.

Aug 25 – Mercury trine Uranus at 10 Virgo/Taurus.  You are so popular because you are vivacious and fun to be with.  You could end up with too many friends if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 to 12 Virgo or Taurus.

Aug 25 – Venus Opposite Jupiter at 18 Cancer/Capricorn.   You just can’t get enough attention, can you?  So you run to the mall and buy everything you see to make yourself feel better.  Well, the bills will come due at some point.    Especially needy are those of you with personal planets or the ascendant at 16 to 20 Cancer/Capricorn.

Aug 27 – Venus Trine Neptune at 20 Cancer/Pisces. You want to decorate your home or move your furniture around.  You want beauty around you.  Buy some new paintings or photographs for the walls.  You will be busy picking out colors and paying attention to feng shui if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 18 to 22 Cancer/Pisces.

Aug 29 – Mercury Trine Jupiter at 17 Virgo/Capricorn.  This stimulates your mind for creative work.  It’s also a good aspect for finances especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 15 to 19 Virgo or Capricorn.

Aug 30 – Venus Opposite Pluto at 22 Cancer/Capricorn.  You are out innocently picking flowers and up comes Pluto to drag you down to the underworld.  Remember innocence attracts these dark partners. Be careful if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 20 to 24 Cancer or Capricorn.

                Mercury Opposite Neptune at 20 Virgo/Pisces.  Oh Lordy, there may be a scandal.  Something you have tried to hide can be brought out.  If it’s someone else’s scandal than it will be something you can all snicker about.  Try not to gossip if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 18 to 22 Virgo or Pisces.

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:

JUPITER is now in Capricorn until December 20, 2020.  This month Jupiter is moving retrograde and will travel from 20 to 17 degrees of Capricorn.  Jupiter is about growth and expansion especially in travel and education and also in the area of your life ruled by the house in your natal chart that contains Capricorn.  Jupiter isn’t very happy in Capricorn because for the following year he has to get down to business; become responsible, and build a career. Don’t forget about his excessive qualities. In Capricorn, he could work too hard, and be too focused on the material and forget to smell the roses

SATURN is now in Capricorn and is moving retrograde.  This month he moves from 27 to 26 degrees of Capricorn.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets at 24 to 29 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. While Saturn is in Capricorn he is asking about your ambitions, your career, and your work ethic. In Capricorn, he is right at home and wants to build something. He stimulates you to make plans to be successful in the outer world. 

 URANUS is in Taurus until Apr 2026. This month he turns retrograde on the 15^th.  So he stays at 10 degrees of Taurus all month.   If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 to 12 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio, you will feel a need for freedom and for making some radical changes in your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable’.  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, go on a long vacation, move or make some major changes in your life.

NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism, dreams) is in Pisces until 2026. This month Neptune is retrograde and moves from 20 to 19 degrees of Pisces all month.  A lack of focus, a sense of drifting or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too late can be experienced by those of you with the ascendant, Sun or Personal Planets at 17 to 22 degrees of Pisces or Virgo. For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for some really inspired films to come out during the time Neptune is in Pisces. 

PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2023.  This month, Pluto is moving retrograde and will move from 23 to 22 degrees of Capricorn. Profound changes will be felt especially by those with the ascendant or personal planets at 20 to 25 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer. What needs to die in order to be reborn?
