Eclipses in the Spring of 2024

The first eclipse is a Lunar Eclipse on March 25 at 5 degrees of Libra. The second eclipse, on April 8, is a Total Solar Eclipse known as the Great North American Eclipse. Its path of totality will sweep across several US states, Mexico, and Canada. This celestial spectacle is significant enough to merit a dedicated report, which I plan to distribute next week.

In this report, I will cover the Lunar Eclipse on March 25 at 5 degrees of Libra.  A Lunar Eclipse is often associated with significant endings and beginnings, including the symbolic"fall of the mighty," as ancient beliefs suggest. This eclipse marks closure and renewal, potentially affecting lives for up to six months and beginning to influence events a month before its occurrence. It will be visible across a broad swath of the globe, including Antarctica, the western half of Africa and Australia, Western Europe, the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, the Americas, and Japan.

Eclipses in Libra are often interpreted as periods for shedding detrimental relationships and embracing new, more harmonious connections. These celestial events can also illuminate relationship dynamics on a global scale. The most recent eclipse in Libra occurred in October 2023, marking the beginning of the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Given that Libra symbolizes harmonious relationships, I hope the current eclipse will pave the way for resolving this crisis.

Lunar Eclipses offer a chance to break free from negative patterns of thought and behavior that hinder self-realization.  They Illuminate unconscious motivations and bring old memories and emotions to the surface.  During a Lunar Eclipse, the opposing forces of the Sun and Moon reveal hidden aspects of life, urging us to confront and resolve repressed energies. Such eclipses, being emotional, prompt a heightened awareness of previously unnoticed matters, encouraging attention to dreams and inner feelings.

The impact of an eclipse can be understood by examining one's planetary placements and ascendant. Eclipses challenge the status quo, potentially redirecting life's course toward renewal. If your birthday is near an eclipse, significant life changes can be expected in the ensuing months or years. The effects of an eclipse may unfold gradually, becoming apparent up to six months later.

The influence of a lunar eclipse is linked to the natal chart's houses it activates and the planets it aligns with.  It demands focus and energy in the affected life areas until the next eclipse cycle. These cosmic events are growth opportunities, shedding light on areas requiring attention.

The upcoming lunar eclipse in Libra will be especially significant for those with personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars) or the ascendant between 3 to 7 degrees of Libra or Aries. It invites reflection on relationship dynamics.

Understanding the effects of eclipses involves recognizing the archetypal energies of planets and the expressive potential of these cosmic influences, ultimately determined by personal consciousness and engagement with these energies.

The Lunar Eclipse of March 25 at 5 degrees of Libra will affect you if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and/or Mars) or the ascendant at 3 to 7 degrees of Libra or Aries.  Also, look at your natal chart for the two houses that hold 3 to 7 degrees of Libra or Aries. This eclipse will stir up events related to those houses. Where is there disharmony in your relationships?  Do you give too much of yourself by being a peacemaker? How can you learn to be more decisive?

March 2024 Forecast

There are many planets in Pisces this month and many aspects to Neptune, who rules Pisces.  This energy is best understood as archetypes found in myths and Fairy Tales.  For instance, the Fairy Tale of Sleeping Beauty aptly illustrates Piscean energy.  Pisces may fall prey to malevolent forces akin to the witch's lethal intent. However, because of Pisces' inherent faith and prayerful attitude, they can benefit from the protection of benevolent forces, as demonstrated by the good fairy who, instead of death, grants a sleep spell. This highlights a critical Piscean theme: the desire for rescue stemming from a lack of boundaries, rendering them vulnerable. Therefore, for those with prominent Pisces placements or significant Neptune aspects in their natal charts, it is crucial to be vigilant against the "vampires" and "wicked witches" in their lives. My advice to Pisces types is, “Don’t cast your pearls before swine.” This advice holds relevance for everyone this month, as the pervasive Piscean/Neptunian energy influences us all.

Interestingly, Sleeping Beauty's salvation comes not through romantic love, associated with Libra, but through a realization of divine love and her capacity for selfless compassion. This awakening is distinctly Piscean, transcending mere romance.

Observing Pisces people in action this winter is quite telling. You might notice them bundled up against the cold, feeding birds and squirrels, or at home, warmed by videos of puppies and kittens being rescued. These acts of kindness and compassion are pure expressions of the Piscean spirit and are deeply connected to Neptune's broader, mystical influence.

There is a Lunar Eclipse this month on the 25th at 5 Libra, followed by a powerful Total Solar Eclipse on April 8th at 19 Libra.  I will send out a special eclipse report this month.

Mercury will turn retrograde at 22 Aries on April 1st and end at 15 Aries on the 24th.

Mar 3 – Venus Square Uranus at 19 degrees if Aquarius/Taurus. Venus rules love and beauty.  Uranus is eccentric, unusual, and loves to be independent.  This aspect may inspire you to dye your hair green, get a new, unique tattoo, or even consider ending a relationship.  While the choice seems to be yours, your action will largely depend on where these planets are in your birth chart.

Mar 8 - Mercury will conjunct Neptune at 26 degrees of Pisces, immersing you in dreams of mystical illumination. However, as Mercury enters Aries the following day, a shift in focus will be necessary. You'll need to bring clarity to your mind and start planning for the future with a more pragmatic approach.

Mar 9 – Mercury enters Aries and will remain there until May 15. Today, you might feel like you've been invigorated by Ritalin or Adderall, emerging from a fog with a clear mind. You have a firm grasp on your desires and the methods to achieve them.    

Mars Square Uranus at 19 degrees of Aquarius/Taurus. Mars rules Aries, and in Aries, Mars is powerful and defiant. He wants to start a revolution.  You may push too far and too fast on this one.  The myth for Aries is Jason and the Argonauts; he was rash and wanted to crash through the clashing rocks, crushing ships as they sailed past.  He didn’t have the patience to wait, but the blind prophet Phineas warned Jason not to move so fast and to wait for the right time to sail past the rocks.  Dear Aries, do you have someone in your life who helps you rethink, slow down, and get in touch with the inner Phineas?

Mar 10 – New Moon at 20 Pisces.  This New Moon occurs between Saturn at 11 degrees of Pisces and Neptune at 27 degrees of Pisces. This alignment may usher in a period characterized by memories and melancholy.

            Daylight Savings Time begins at 2 AM. I, for one, do not like Daylight Savings time; I wish they would eliminate it.  I want the sun in the morning where it belongs, not in the evening.  Who agrees with me?  Anyone?

Mar 11 – Venus enters Pisces and will stay there until April 5th. Once again, we welcome the influence of Pisces. Venus is exalted in Pisces, making it an excellent position for the planet. Pisces governs water, the depths of the ocean, chaos, and longing. Venus rules over art, reminiscent of Monet's Water Lilies. Additionally, Pisces has dominion over music, evoking the essence of Debussy's "La Mer."

Mar 17 – The Sun conjuncts Neptune at 27 degrees of Pisces, a sign ruled by Neptune itself, with the Sun also positioned in Pisces. This alignment fosters a diffuse field of meaning, creating an atmosphere ripe for daydreaming, indulging in fantasy or fairy tales, or conversing with the elves in your garden. However, enjoy this leisurely pace while it lasts, as the Sun's entry into Aries tomorrow marks the end of such lazy March days. Aries has little patience for what it considers nonsense, such as fairies.

Mar 19 - The Sun enters Aries and will remain there until April 19. This period is ideal for initiating new plans and actions. Take the dreams and inspirations you gathered during Pisces and incorporate them into your goals for accomplishment.

Mar 21 – Venus conjuncts Saturn at 12 degrees Pisces, bringing about a sense of frustration. Just when it seemed we were past the confusion and deep dives into our unconscious, retrieving ephemeral thoughts and visions, we find ourselves navigating through watery depths once again. However, today offers an opportunity to transform those visions into something practical. Consider starting a dream or meditation group, opening an art gallery, or finding ways to monetize your art and music for a change. This conjunction encourages the practical application of your creative and spiritual insights.

 Mar 22 – Mars enters Pisces and will stay there until April 30, 2024. Our warrior, typically relied upon to battle adversaries, has opted to explore the depths and engage in shadow boxing. In this period, it may be wise to embrace the introspective energy Mars in Pisces offers. Consider exploring your inner world, confronting personal shadows, or channeling this energy into creative or healing endeavors. This time can be used for personal growth and understanding, turning inward to address and understand aspects of yourself that usually stay hidden.

Mar 25 The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse occurs at 5 degrees Libra, with Venus, the ruler of this eclipse, currently positioned in Pisces. While Pisces is often appreciated for its sweet and compassionate qualities, the influence of Venus in Pisces during this eclipse, on top of all the Pisces aspects we have had all month, might feel overwhelmingly sugary sweet. This can be a bit much, to the point of being almost too much--making my teeth hurt.

 

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS FOR THIS MONTH:

JUPITER will move from 11 to 17 degrees of Taurus.  He will stay in Taurus until May 26, 2024.  Jupiter is the big, fat, happy guy who is expansive in everything. In Taurus, he wants to buy property, build up his bank account, and invest in growth stocks. Look to the house in your birth chart that contains Taurus. This coming year can bring good luck and opportunities in the areas ruled by your natal Taurus house.

SATURN is in Pisces until May 26, 2025. This month, Saturn moves from 9 to 13 degrees of Pisces.  Saturn rules your material world and especially your career.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets anywhere from 7 to 15 degrees of Pisces or Virgo,  you may be in store for some hard lessons about the issues in the house containing Pisces and or Virgo.  Pisces is a creative dreamer. While in Pisces, Saturn, he will try solidifying your dreams and fantasies.

URANUS is in Taurus until April 2026.  This month, he moves from 19 to 20 degrees. This is the time to break loose and radically change your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable.’  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets (17 to 22 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio), go on an extended vacation, preferably somewhere you have never been. Or make some significant changes in your life. Taurus represents the earth. Expect news about farming, food, earthquakes, volcanos, tornadoes, or other major weather changes while Uranus is in Taurus. 

NEPTUNE is in Pisces until 2026.  Neptune will move from 26 to 27 degrees of Pisces this month.   If you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 24 to 29 degrees of Pisces or Virgo, you may lack focus during this time and want to daydream. Beware of a betrayal, a disappointment, and a sense of drifting. Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, and creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for inspired films to come out when Neptune is in Pisces.

PLUTO is in Capricorn until Nov 2024.  This month, Pluto will stay at 1 degree of Aquarius.  Pluto grinds away at our psyche, bringing up all sorts of difficult psychological issues. You should run to your nearest therapist, especially if you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 29 degrees of  Capricorn to 3 degrees of Aquarius.  Pluto asks what needs to die to be reborn.

2024 Overview

The following are the most critical and pivotal times in 2024.

January  On the 20^th, The Sun will conjunct Pluto at 29 degrees of Capricorn, and then less than an hour later, the Sun will enter Aquarius, and on the 21^st, Pluto will enter Aquarius.  There will be some sudden extreme feelings and events for this short period. Russia's birth chart shows Pluto at 29 degrees of Capricorn.  These events could have some serious implications for Russia.

February from the 14^th to the 22^nd. Venus and Mars on Pluto could resolve relationships and a critical time.  At the end of February, with the Sun, Mercury, and Saturn in aspect, it’s time to make rational decisions.  We feel detached.

March is relatively quiet.

April is the most dynamic month of the year.

There is a Total Solar Eclipse on April 8^th at 19 Aries.  This eclipse will affect North America. It will start in Mexico, travel through Texas, the Mid-West and New England, and terminate in Canada.   This is a supercharged event.  Because the eclipse is in Aries, It could bring conflict or battles anytime during the six months following this eclipse.

Jupiter will conjunct Uranus during the 3^rd and fourth week of April. It is on April 20 at 21 degrees Taurus. This is a once every-14 years transit.  This could bring dynamic change. The planet of technology, genius, and inspiration gets magnified by Jupiter, the planet of abundance and expansion.  This aspect will impact the birth charts of both Israel and Palestine. The conflict in the Middle East could reach a culmination.  And we could be surprised by how it works out.  The outcome could be positive since there is a sextile from Mars to Jupiter and Aquarius.

In May, Jupiter enters Gemini on May 25 for one year.  During the year, Jupiter will bring luck, opportunities, and expansion to Geminis and the house in your natal chart containing Gemini.  Jupiter will trine Pluto in Aquarius in May, bringing in innovations in communications.  Watch for more expansion of A.I.  I like this transit in air signs of Gemini and Aquarius, both signs ruling freedom of the mind.

The first few days of June will feature the Sun conjunct, Mercury conjunct Jupiter, and trine Pluto.  This energy could bring a lot of fresh starts.  Mid-June brings Venus and Mercury in a square to Neptune with some false narratives floating around.

July is mainly quiet, with a breakthrough aspect of Mars conjunct Uranus on the 22^nd and 23^rd, and the Sun Opposite Pluto and Mars Trine Pluto shows a breakthrough.

August features a T-square between Mars,  Jupiter, Venus and Saturn.  This can bring global financial changes.  Jupiter is in a square to Saturn through March 2025.  This is a long-term global financial restructuring.

September is a Neptunian month, with the Sun and Mercury challenging Neptune. Things are not what they seem. At the end of September, for five days through the first few days of October, we have a Grand Trine with Mars in Cancer, Venus in Scorpio, and Saturn in Pisces.  This is excellent, so look at the 30^th of September to the 4th of October for balance and harmony in relationships and finances.

October is quiet after the 4^th.

Despite Mars opposing Neptune, November is quiet except for hype, spin, and false promises.  But a breakthrough to the truth could happen on the 17^th and 18th with the Sun opposite Uranus and Mercury opposite Jupiter, and events could get out of control.

In December, the Sun is conjunct Mercury retrograde on the 7th and opposite Jupiter.  On the 12th, Venus will oppose Mars.  This month could see some conflicts among friends.

 2024 is setting up the major changes that will happen in 2025 and 2026. All outer planets will move from Water and Earth into Air and Fire signs.  Water signs are emotional signs; Earth signs are practical material signs.  Fire signs are spiritual, and Air signs are mental. Pluto moves into Aquarius this year.  Saturn and Neptune move into Aries in 2025, Uranus enters Gemini in 2026, and Jupiter enters Leo in 2026. This has never happened before.  It will be the biggest time of concentrated change in our history.  Because the planets will be in the signs of Air and Fire, it could mean a shift in consciousness.  2024 is the build-up to these incredible years.  

December 2023 Forecast

I am reading the biography of James Hillman by Dick Russell. It is three volumes and I am just finishing Vol 2 which is 600 pages. I understand that Vol Three just came out in Nov 2023 and is 800 pages!  You need to love Hillman to tackle it.  But his biography is very well written and keeps your attention throughout.   Hillman was known as a renegade Jungian and was the founder of Archetypal Psychology the specific type of psychology that informs my astrological practice. 

If you want to get a feeling for Hillman’s work, start by reading his book The Soul’s Code where he writes about the daimon, our personal spirit guide.  The daimon is born with us and pushes us to pursue its agenda through our unique gifts.  Sometimes the Daimon pushes you so hard that you can get in trouble as a child. To discover your personal daimon, look at your early obsessions, and what got you in trouble. I almost got expelled from high school because I was publishing a newsletter using the school copy machines.  The newsletter was about Mad Magazine.  The problem was that I didn’t think the principal understood that I was just a child of Hermes pursuing my daimon.

I couldn’t have said it better myself.  I’m not a fortune teller, but I have a strange feeling that I’m being replaced.  I do think we should ‘fess up’ when we are using AI. Let’s try to maintain a little human dignity as we become redundant.

This is a pretty quiet month except for the end of the month when Mercury conjuncts Mars in Sagittarius and squares Neptune in Pisces at 24 degrees. There is the potential for deceit, distrust, and confusion around communications. 

Mercury turns retrograde on Dec 13 and lasts until January 1. The planet Mercury rules communication in all forms—listening, writing, reading, speaking, and so on—as well as activities closely related to communication; like negotiations and contracts. It also rules travel, automobiles, shipping, and mail. So, when Mercury is retrograde, try to remain flexible, patient, and understanding to allow extra time for travel. Avoid signing any new contracts if at all possible.  Double-check your email responses. Take time to review projects and plans before making decisions. Plan ahead, have backup plans, and be prepared for miscommunications.

Dec 1 – Mercury enters Capricorn and goes retrograde on the 13^th until January 1st.   Mercury transiting in any zodiac sign shows how we will express ourselves.  In Capricorn,  your conversations will be short, efficient and to the point.  You will say what you mean and mean what you say.  Maybe we will hear some straight talking from our politicians.  Is that possible?

Dec 3 – Venus square Pluto at 28 Degrees of Libra/Capricorn.  In your significant relationships, one of you is being controlling and manipulative.  Is it you?  Also, power issues, jealousy and possessiveness can spring up between partners and friends.

Dec 4 – Venus enters Scorpio until the 29^th of Dec.  During this time emotions are intensified.  You may be seeking more commitment  and a deeper relationship.

Dec 5 – Venus Trine Saturn at 1 degree Scorpio/Pisces.  This is about making a long-term investment in a person, a different group or your finances.  A relationship started today could be with someone in a different age group and it promises to be long-lasting.

Dec 6 – Neptune turns direct at 24 Pisces.  Neptune rules idealism, spirituality and compassion, but also its energies can give rise to confusion, deceit, guilt and doubt.  So it is important to look at which planet it touches in your natal chart and which house it is in. Neptune stopping at 24 Pisces today can bring a lot of pleasure to those of you born in late, Virgo, Pisces, Sagittarius or Gemini.  You will be released from the confusion of the last few years.

Dec 7 – Mercury Trines Jupiter at 6 degrees of Capricorn/Taurus. This brings optimism and good news.  Also, this is a good time to study, research and teach.  Plan a trip to a foreign country.

Dec 9 – Venus Opposite Jupiter at 6 Scorpio/Taurus.  This helps you become more optimistic and you will love having a good time but, all of this may lead to self-indulgence.  Venus loves sweets and Jupiter loves to drink and they both love to party.  So have fun, but try a little moderation.

Dec 12 – New Moon at 20 Sagittarius.  Everyone loves Sagittarius.  This sets the tone of the month for expansion, travel and learning.   This is a time for new starts and to take risks. The house this New Moon falls in on your natal chart will show the areas of expansion.

Dec 13 – Mercury turns retrograde at 8 degrees of Capricorn and stays retrograde until Jan 1. He backs into Sagittarius on the 23^rd until January 13.  We can get a breather and a little more optimism during the time he is in Sagittarius, but he goes back into Capricorn on January 13. We all need a period when we can slow down and look over what we have accomplished during the last 6 months.  Mercury retrograde is a reflective time.  In Capricorn you may reflect on what is wrong with your world and in Sagittarius, you may reflect on how grateful you are.

Dec 16 – Sun Square Neptune at 24 degrees of Sagittarius/Pisces.  I’m not crazy about Neptune and on this transit because we could be disillusioned, and gullible.  You could be subject to a con.

Dec 18 – Mercury Trine Jupiter at 6 Capricorn/Taurus.  This is the second Mercury trine Jupiter.  The first one is on Dec 7 as noted above and the last one will be on Jan 19.

Dec 21 – Sun Enters Capricorn until January 20. You will become very organized now in your professional and personal life.  Capricorn isn’t much fun, but you had your fun while the Sun was in Sagittarius.  Now the chickens come home to roost or the bills from your extravagance over the holidays are due.  Or you have to face the overflowing inbox at work.   But Capricorn brings you the patience and the energy to take on one thing at a time.

          Venus Opposite Uranus at 19 degrees Scorpio/Taurus. Nosey people around you want to know your plans.  Be understanding rather than abrupt.  Someone in your life wants to break free--let them go.

Dec 22 – Sun Conjunct Mercury at 0 degrees of Capricorn.         You can get some bright ideas today, maybe regarding a proposed trip or a literary project. Write your thoughts down.  You may not get another bright idea for a while.

Dec 23 – Mercury enters Sagittarius on 13 January.  This is a period of optimism and also a chance to expand in the areas of education and higher knowledge.  It increases your ability to learn and can bring abundance in all things.

Dec 25 Christmas Day

          Venus Trine Neptune at 24 degrees of Scorpio/Pisces.  This is probably the best transit to have on Christmas. You are being uplifted by the power of love.  Both Venus and Neptune bring gifts.  Both gifts of Beauty (Venus) and gifts of the spirit (Neptune)

Dec 26 – Full Moon at 4 Cancer.  Cancer is a sign of nurturing, belonging and caring.  You may feel very sensitive today, especially if you have planets at 4 degrees of Cancer or Capricorn.

Dec 27 – Mercury Square Neptune at 25 Sagittarius/Pisces.  We had this aspect last month on the 27^th and will have it in January on the 8^th. Both the signs of Sagittarius and Pisces rule belief.  With Neptune, you could begin to believe in fairies or UFOs or both.  It’s a time to dream big.  Mercury in Sagittarius is all about truth, but on this aspect, Neptune is concealing the truth and telling some tall tales.

          Sun Trine Jupiter at 5 Capricorn/Taurus.  This can bring advantages, especially in the world of finance.  You become more grounded today and can make some concrete long-term decisions.

          Mercury Conjunct Mars at 23 Sagittarius.  Have you been lying around in your PJs doing nothing? Well, Mars is kicking you in the butt today.  Get up and engage in conversations, writing and social media.

Dec 28 – Mars Square Neptune at 25 Sagittarius/Pisces. Don’t confide in anyone who could use the information against you.  This is a classic aspect of deceit.  Because Mercury is conjunct Mars at the same time, this could get messy.  This can be a difficult time, especially if you were born around the 14th of June, December, September or March.

Dec 29 – Venus enters Sagittarius until January 23.  Venus always brings benefits and in Sagittarius, she can bring romance, wealth and luxury.  Look at the house in your natal chart that contains Sagittarius. The matters of this house will expand and you could receive a gift related to this house.

Dec 30 – Jupiter turns direct at 5 degrees of Taurus.  This could bring all of you good news related to real estate and property.  This brings in new energy and luck in the house that contains Taurus. You could gain clarity and a new beginning if you were born during the 1^st week of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius.

Dec 31 – New Year's Eve.

URANUS is in Taurus until April 2026. This month he is moving retrograde and will move from 20 to 19 degrees of Taurus.  This is the time to break loose and make some radical changes in your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable’.  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, (17 to 22 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio) go on a long vacation, preferably to somewhere you have never been before. Or make some major changes in your life. Taurus represents the earth. Expect news about farming, food, earthquakes, volcanos, tornadoes, or other major weather changes while Uranus is in Taurus. 

NEPTUNE is in Pisces until 2026. This month he will turn direct on Dec 6 at 24 degrees of Pisces and then moves from 24 to 25 degrees of Pisces.  If you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 22 to 27 degrees of Pisces, you may lack focus during this time and just want to daydream. Beware of a betrayal, a disappointment and a sense of drifting. For the rest of us, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, and creative expression as well as increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for  inspiring films to come out when Neptune is in Pisces.

PLUTO is in Capricorn until Nov 2024.  This month Pluto will move from 28 to 29 degrees of Capricorn.  He moves back into Aquarius in Nov 2024.  Pluto grinds away at our psyche bringing up all sorts of difficult psychological issues. You should run to your nearest therapist, especially if you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 27 to 29 degrees of Capricorn or 0 to 1 degrees of Aquarius.  Pluto asks what needs to die in order to be reborn.

Eclipses in October and November 2022

The first eclipse on October 25 is a Solar Eclipse in the sign of Scorpio.  The second eclipse on November 8 is a Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Taurus. The ancients believed that during an eclipse, ‘the mighty will fall.’ They bring endings and beginnings as in births and deaths. The energy from an eclipse can last up to six months and can also become active a month before the actual eclipse.

For instance, the last Solar Eclipse on April 30, 2022, was in a conjunction with Neptune and Jupiter.  Neptune.  Here is what I wrote at that time, Since Neptune rules oil and water among other things, this could mean higher oil prices and flooding. These things did not manifest on the day of the eclipse but happened later.

We will have eclipses on the Taurus/Scorpio axis of the zodiac for the next year.  So this denotes a cycle of change that relates to our values, our possessions (Taurus), and our ability to regenerate our lives (Scorpio). 

 

Solar Eclipse on October 25 at 2 degrees of Scorpio

This partial solar eclipse will be visible from Europe, the Urals, and Western Siberia, Central Asia, and Western Asia, and from the northeast of Africa.

Solar Eclipses tend to relate to sudden events that disrupt our day-to-day functioning; they are the crisis that seems to come out of nowhere and that suddenly demands all of our conscious attention and focus. They tend to stir things up on a physical and conscious level much more than Lunar Eclipses.

A Solar Eclipse is a powerful new moon so make plans for the future. Set your intentions during this eclipse around Scorpio themes – obsessions, compulsions, regeneration, and transformation. The day of the eclipse and six months following this eclipse is an ideal time to deal with and make a fresh start in all of these Scorpio areas.

This Solar eclipse is conjunct Venus, the planet of art, beauty, harmony, diplomacy, and love.  Is there a peace process in place for the war in Ukraine?  Hopefully, this eclipse could bring one about.

This Solar Eclipse is right on Vladimir Putin’s Ascendant at 3 degrees of Scorpio. This represents a loss of face and a change in how others see him.  In my clients’ charts, an eclipse on the ascendant brings in a move or a change of job, or both. The last eclipse on April 30, 2022, was opposite Putin’s Venus which shows a loss of popularity.  He doesn’t feel loved. When eclipses come in and aspect personal planets and the ascendant, major changes can come into a person’s life.

Lunar Eclipse on Nov 8 at 16 degrees of Taurus

This eclipse will be visible from Asia, Australia, North America, parts of northern and eastern Europe, and most of South America.

In Taurus, this eclipse will bring about a focus on your values and on banking, property, housing, land, food production, and farming. We crave security with an eclipse in Taurus.

On a Lunar Eclipse, something will end and on a Solar Eclipse, something will begin. A Lunar Eclipse is an opportunity to break habits or eliminate socially conditioned patterns of thoughts and behaviors that stand in the way of self-realization. 

A Lunar Eclipse can make us more aware of our emotional habits and our unconscious motivations. This period of time can bring up old memories and feelings.  Full moon eclipses can bring completion to projects in which you have been involved. The Sun opposite the Moon lights up the Moon and brings previously unexamined areas of your life into awareness. Repressed energies emerge for confrontation and resolution.  Pay attention to your dreams. Lunar Eclipses are more emotional than Solar Eclipses.  Lunar Eclipses shine a light on things of which we weren’t aware.

This Lunar Eclipse is very complex because of the many other planets that it is aspecting. One of the major aspects is a square to Saturn and a conjunction with Uranus.  Hopefully, this is the last hurrah, of the Saturn/Uranus square that we have experienced all through 2021. Uranus promotes change and Saturn resists it.

This eclipse is on the day of the United States election.   I know astrology, but I know little about politics. From what I can glean from the aspects on this day, there may be a conflict because the Uranus types will want to throw the bums out and start over and the Saturn types will want to stay with the devil they know.  Mercury is involved in this eclipse also and he rules ballots.  Mercury, the trickster, could cause some confusion in the balloting. Venus is also involved and she rules harmony. Maybe some woman (Venus) will try to keep things calm during the voting process on that day, but she will be trumped (excuse the expression) by Saturn square Uranus.  I can’t predict the results except Election Day will be a mess and some of the mix-ups may not be untangled for 6 months or more.

 

How will these eclipses affect you?

Eclipses are contrary to the status quo. If impacted by one of these eclipses, your life will not run on the usual track.  But that can be a good thing. Some view eclipses as release and renewal points.  If your birthday falls on or is close to the date of an eclipse your life will change dramatically in the months and years ahead.

Sometimes eclipses get triggered after they occur so events can come in after the eclipse, especially within 6 months. The Sun will trigger the Solar Eclipse on April 23, 2023. and Mars will trigger the Lunar Eclipse on Aug 12 and 13^th of 2022. Look for events relating to the eclipses on these dates.

An eclipse tends to emphasize matters related to the house it falls in on your natal chart and what planets it conjuncts or opposes.  The areas ruled by the houses or planets will demand more energy and time from you, at least until the next eclipses in April and May of 2023.   Eclipses open doors and invite you to come in, illuminating and stimulating areas of your life that need your attention.

Remember that planetary energies are archetypal and archetypes can be expressed in many different ways. It’s really based on your consciousness and how you decide to work with these energies.

 

The Solar Eclipse on Oct 25 at 2 degrees of Scorpio will affect you if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and/or Mars) or the ascendant at 0 to 4 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio.  Also, look at your natal chart for the houses that contain 2 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio.  It may mean the end of one set of circumstances and the beginning of another in that area of your life.

 

The Lunar Eclipse of Nov 8 at 16 degrees of Taurus will affect you if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 14 to 18 degrees of Scorpio or Taurus.  Also, look at your natal chart for the 2 houses that hold 16 degrees of Scorpio and/or Taurus.  This eclipse will stir up events related to those houses. What are your values, do you own your possessions, or do they own you; what can you let go of, and what needs to be reborn?

Some eclipses repeat every 19 years.  The Lunar Eclipse of Nov 8 is a repeat of a lunar eclipse at 16 Taurus back on Nov 9, 2003.  Look back to what happened then. This Lunar Eclipse will continue a theme that was playing out at that time

September 2022 Forecast

Mercury turns retrograde this month on the 9^th at 8 degrees of Libra and stays retrograde until Oct 2 when he turns direct at 24 degrees of Virgo.  For some reason, Mercury retrograde has grabbed the attention of the public.  This is probably because it gives us something more to be afraid of.  We have been primed for fear the last few years by our corporate-owned media and it won’t go away soon.  So go ahead and add Mercury retrograde to Covid, Omnicom, Monkey Pox, Russia, and Climate Change.  Or, follow the Buddha and liberate yourself from desire and fear. I’m feeling preachy today.  Sorry.  Mercury retrograde is a good time to reflect. When he goes retrograde on the 9^th, he will join five other planets that are retrograde.  This month is all about looking back on where we have come from and what we have learned.

Mars entered Gemini last month on Aug 20 where he will stay an unprecedented seven months. This time period could push all the Geminis out there over the edge.  Being a Gemini myself, I can attest to the fact that we just don’t need any more stimulation. If you are in a relationship with a Gemini Sun or Gemini rising person, just watch the smoke coming out of their ears.  And then watch them relapse into exhaustion when they can’t think of anything more to chatter about.

Saturn and Uranus are moving into a square again.  We had that square in February, June, and December of last year. It symbolized all of 2021. That square manifested in the conflict between wanting to feel safe (Saturn) by getting multiple vaccinations and boosters and by fear (Saturn) of the unvaxed versus wanting freedom (Uranus) by going to a restaurant or the beach. Which side were you on?  Are you a Saturn or a Uranus type?  Run to your local astrologer to find out.  The square will be ½ a degree of exact on Oct 4 and then they move apart.

Sep 2 – Mercury opposite Jupiter at 6 degrees of Libra/Aries. Jupiter with Mercury can be loud and obnoxious at times. Be careful of your speech today, don’t knock people over the head with your outrageous ideas.  If you have personal planets, (Sun Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars) or the ascendant at 4 to 8 degrees of Libra or Aries, don’t be such a loud mouth.  This aspect will repeat on Sep 18 when Mercury backs up to oppose Jupiter again.

Sep 5 – Venus enters Virgo until Sep 29.  During this period, you may all start to over-analyze emotions and be too critical of those you love.  Did you know that people with Venus in Virgo in their natal charts remain unmarried more than any other Venus sign?  Is it because they are critical or maybe because they are discriminating and won’t fall for a loser just to be married? Venus in Virgo is the earth mother.  Joanna Macy, the ecologist, said that first, we have to learn to love the earth in order to save it.  Venus in Virgo is the love of the earth. Virgo is a healer so during this time we could be interested in helping people with their problems be they physical or psychological.  During this period, you will go out and get your hair cut,  and buy new clothes to look neat and put together. “Put together” is a Virgo phrase and I really don’t know what it means.

Sep 9 – Mercury turns retrograde at 8 degrees of Libra. Find the house in your birth chart that contains Libra.  This is the area of life where you could experience miscommunications and snafus. There is some good news with this Mercury retrograde.  While Mercury is in Libra, he will oppose Jupiter in Aries three times-- on 9/2, at 6 degrees Libra/Aries, on 9/18 at 4 degrees Libra/Aries, and on 10/12 at 1 degree of Libra/Aries.  On these dates, beneficial information will come in or a new idea will come up that can open doors to your future.  Pay close attention to any news or original knowledge from books you are reading, especially if you have early degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn.

Sep 10- Full Moon at 17 Pisces.  This New Moon is in a positive aspect to Uranus.  Usually, a Full Moon in Pisces tends to make you sensitive and perceptive of your surroundings. Sometimes you feel insecure, and passive and tend to sit around and wait to see what happens.  But, Uranus gives this Full Moon an extra ‘kick’. With Uranus involved, you don’t have the patience to sit, you want to go out and look for something zany to get involved with.   If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 15 to 19 degrees of Pisces, you won’t know whether you should sit and meditate or jump on an airplane.

Sep 16 – Venus Square Mars at 14 Virgo/Gemini.  You could be very clumsy today in romantic matters.  You can also go out and spend too much on luxury items.  It’s best to stay home, especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 12 to 16 Virgo or Gemini.

            Sun Opposite Neptune at 24 degrees of Virgo/Pisces.  I have a strong prejudice against Neptune because he represents Dionysus the guy who twirls around and creates confusion.  So on this aspect; you better stay away from business or financial decisions, especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 26 degrees of Virgo or Pisces.

Sep 18 – Mercury Opposite Jupiter at 4 Libra/Aries. You are talking too much and saying things you shouldn’t say.  This is a repeat of the aspect on Sep 2. Try to listen instead of talk if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 2 to 6 Libra/Aries.

Sun Trine Pluto at 26 Virgo/Capricorn. You could get good material advice from a plutocrat today, someone who is in a powerful position to help you. Look for this person if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 24 to 28 degrees of Virgo or Capricorn.

Sep 22 – Sun enters Libra until Oct 23. Libra represents Aphrodite. She will be in her element during this time by creating love relationships, officiating at weddings, and helping creative artists do their best work.  What could go wrong? Well, Aphrodite cheated on Vulcan, the nice guy. She likes to spread her love everywhere.  So don’t get too frisky. This month you could end up having too many friends on Facebook and spend too many hours on eHarmony.

Sep 23 – Sun Conjunct Mercury at 0 degrees of Libra.  Your mind will be primarily concerned with human relations. We want to refine our activities and be more sensitive about our personal appearance.

            Mercury is backing up into Virgo and will turn direct on Oct 1 and head into Libra again on Oct 11.  Find the area of your chart that contains Virgo, this is the area where you will have confused communications.

Sep 24 – Venus Opposite Neptune at 23 Virgo/Pisces.  This is not a good aspect for lending or borrowing money.  You may buy something and pay an inflated price for it.  Try to choose wisely.

Sep 25 – New Moon at 2 degrees of Libra.  The chart of the New Moon sets the pattern for the month ahead.  In Libra, you will want to find balance and harmony.  You want everyone and everything around you to be ‘nice’. This new moon is opposite Jupiter.  You will want to expand your life through education or travel.  This is a lovely month for those of you with personal planets or the ascendant in Libra.

Sep 26 – Venus Trine Pluto at 24 Virgo/Capricorn. When Pluto is good, he is very, very good and when he is bad, he is horrid. On this aspect he brings parties and friendships  He may regenerate your love life if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 26 of Virgo or Capricorn.

            Mercury Conjunct Venus at 25 Virgo. Your speech takes on a more pleasant tone. You may receive an important message from a friend.  Go out and sweet talk everyone if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 23 to 27 Virgo.

            Sun Opposite Jupiter at 3 Libra/Aries. You tend to exaggerate possibilities today. You expect too much from a relationship and like Icarus, fall to earth from disappointment. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 1 to 5 degrees of Libra or Aries, modify your expectations.

Sep 27 – Mercury trine Pluto at 27 Virgo/Capricorn.  Someone cares about you a lot and they could help you out today regarding a job or a career move.  Who is this person?  It may be a Virgo, a Scorpio or a Capricorn.  Be alert if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 25 to 29 Virgo or Capricorn.

Sep 28 – Mars Trine Saturn at 19 Gemini/Aquarius.  This is a good day for a family reunion or going to see the old folks.  This is also good for concentrating on a job that needs manual dexterity. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 17 to 21 Gemini or Aquarius, you can get a lot done today.

Sep 29 – Venus enters Libra until Oct 23.  The goddess of love and beauty enters the sign of love and beauty.  Our sense of color and form is heightened during this time.  This is a good period for all of the artists out there.  For the rest of you, why don’t you try to spruce up your home a little, you will notice that it looks drab and dingy.

 

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:

JUPITER entered Aries on May 1, 2022 and will stay in Aries until Oct 29, 2022, when he backs into Pisces.  This month he is retrograde and will travel from 8 to 3 degrees of Aries.  Jupiter in Aries is about taking the lead in our life. He is the big fat happy guy who was excessive in all things.  Jupiter also can expand our experiences, our knowledge, and our confidence.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant between 5 to10 degrees of Aries expect expansion and blossoming in that area of your chart.

SATURN is in Aquarius until March 2023.  He is retrograde and will move from 20 to 19 degrees this month.  Saturn rules our material world, and especially our career.  Saturn is the old traditional ruler of Aquarius.  So he is happy here.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets 17 to 22 degrees of Aquarius, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. While Saturn is in Aquarius, he will run around trying to restrict all of the social media that he will call fake news.  He hates to see freedom of expression which is what Aquarius is all about.

URANUS is in Taurus until Apr 2026.  Uranus turned retrograde on August 24 and he stays at 18 degrees of Taurus all month.  This is the time to break loose and make some radical changes in your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable'.  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, (16 to 20 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio) go on a long vacation, preferably to somewhere you have never been before.  Or make some major changes in your life. Taurus is the earth.  Expect earth events such as farming, food, earthquakes volcanos or major weather events during the period that Uranus is in Taurus.

NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism, dreams) is in Pisces until 2026. Neptune is retrograde this month and will move from 24 to 23 degrees of Pisces.  A lack of focus, a sense of drifting, or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too late can be experienced by those of you with the ascendant or Personal Planets at 21 to 26 degrees of Pisces or Virgo. For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for some really inspired films to come out when Neptune is in Pisces.

August 2022 Forecast

August starts out with a bang with Mars on top of Uranus at 18 Taurus. This is definitely the most important transits this month.  It is also conjunct with the north node and that adds volume to this aspect.  On the positive side Mars rules assertiveness, will, or courage and on the minus side, he rules anger, aggression, and violence.  And Uranus is explosive --stay cool. I’m sure this aspect will be reflected in news items this week.  Uranus is all about change and it can open a new chapter in your life.  If you feel stuck you could get a different perspective on your situation. This may be the breakthrough you need. This aspect was powerful during the last week of July and could hang around until August 11 when it gets triggered by the Full Moon.

The Journey is a good Mary Oliver poem to describe the breakthrough possibilities of this transit.

If your birthday falls between May 6th thru the 16th or Aug 8th thru the 18^th or Feb 5th thru the 14th or Oct 9th thru the 19th, there are 10 aspects on your Sun this month including Mars/Uranus/North node conjunction.  Some are challenges, some are opportunities.  Stay loose. What am I saying; you are all fixed signs. (Taurus, Leo, Aquarius, and Scorpio) and “loose” is not something you are familiar with.  You will probably dig in your heels, refuse to change, put your head down and persevere through it all.  That’s OK too.

Aug 1 – Mars conjunct Uranus at 18 Taurus.  You could feel fed up with a few things in your life.  You may decide on this aspect to throw certain situations like your living space, your job and irritating people out the window.  You just can’t take it anymore. To put it mildly, this is a disruptive aspect.  Don’t take any risks for this week. Change is in the air, but be sure to make the changes to your advantage.   You may put a lot of effort into getting free. Conjunctions represent the start of a new cycle. This conjunction of Mars and Uranus could start a long period of finding out who you are, what you stand for, and how to be more independent.   It’s important to look at the house and planet this aspect is impacting.  Find the location of 15 to 21 degrees of Taurus in your birth chart.  See the meaning of the houses here and the meaning of your natal planets here.

Aug 2 – Triple sextile with Venus at 18 Cancer in a sextile to Uranus and Mars. This triple conjunction with Mars and Uranus mollifies this conjunction.  It brings a response to love, a sudden active power of creativity.  More energy is put into relationships. If you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars) or the ascendant at 15 to 21 degrees of Taurus or Cancer, this will bring some harmony into the outrageous thing you decided to do or say because of the Mars/Uranus conjunction. 

Aug 4 – Mercury in Virgo until August 25. This is the most positive placement this month. Mercury is in his exaltation in Virgo.  He is excellent here. You will be able to think through your problems and analyze the area of life ruled by your house of Virgo. This is a good time to organize and clean.

Aug 7 – Venus Trine Neptune at 25 degrees of Cancer/Pisces.  Neptune sets up a yearning and with Venus; it’s nostalgia for your past relationships.  You start looking on Facebook for that guy you dated years ago.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 23 to 27 degrees of Cancer or Pisces try not to be so starry-eyed and romantic today.

          Mars square Saturn at 22 degrees of Taurus and Aquarius.  Someone may be placing burdens are you that you don’t want.  This is interfering with your freedom.  But be patient this will be over within a week.  Who is pressuring you to take care of business? Is it you doing it to yourself?  It may be if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 20 to 24 degrees of Taurus or Aquarius.

Aug 9 – Venus opposite Pluto at 26 Cancer/Capricorn.  Ouch.  You forgot that the old boyfriend you found on Facebook is a psychopath.   On this aspect, Persephone is meeting Hades.  What I’ve learned through my many, many, too many years of life is that Persephone is not so innocent and Hades is not all bad.  An innocent Persephone type, (I’m talking to you Virgo, Sagittarius, Gemini, and Pisces) brings out the aggressor in a Pluto type. Think about it when you go through this transit.  Where is it falling in your natal chart?  Check it out if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 24 to 28 degrees of Cancer or Capricorn.

Aug 11 – Full Moon at 19 Aquarius.  This Full Moon is conjunct to Saturn and is squaring the Mars/Uranus aspect of the first week of August.  It is shining a spotlight on the tension and anxiety of that week.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 17 to 21 Aquarius or Leo, you could be an intense Full Moon for you.

          Sun Square Uranus at 18 degrees of Leo/Taurus. You could make mistakes on this one.  You are getting too stirred up by events.  Stay off of Twitter.  Do you really care what the Democratic Party is up to and that there are still too many Trumpers out there?  Calm down; make some adjustments in your personal life that need to change especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 16 to 20 of Leo or Taurus.

          Venus enters Leo until Sep 5.  This is a very warm-hearted placement for Leo.  She wants to entertain, dress up, and live in an environment of luxury.  Venus is the queen in this sign.  Go stay at a five-star hotel.  Gather around all the people who admire you and show off your stuff. Venus in Leo is about enjoying the summer.  But, during her traipsing in Leo she will square Uranus on the 27^th and oppose Saturn on the 28^th.    Summer plans can be upset and or stalled on these two days. Look to the house that contains Leo in your birth chart, this is the area of life where you will want to play, seek pleasure and have fun.

Aug 14 – Sun Opposite Saturn at 21 degrees of Leo/Aquarius.  Saturn is the Father, the government or authority figures.  You want to challenge’ The Man’ today because you feel restricted.  It’s best to accept limits and restrictions right now because this will soon pass. Patience is the key for those of you with personal planets or the ascendant at 18 to 23 degrees of Leo or Aquarius.

          Mars trine Pluto at 26 degrees of Taurus/Capricorn.  You have resources available that will let you move through any challenges you have.  Opportunities present themselves for clearing up roadblocks and to rid yourself of debris and other things in your life that you no longer need.  Time to declutter if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 24 to 28 degrees of Taurus or Capricorn

Aug 16 – Mercury Trine Uranus at 18 Virgo/Taurus.  This is a good day for writing, travel, and positive changes.  You could make an important new contact today especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 16 to 20 Virgo or Taurus.

Aug 18 – Venus Trine Jupiter at 8 Leo/Aries.  This is the most positive aspect of this month. These two planets in fire signs can bring you good luck.  Anyway, If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 6 to 10 Leo or Aries, you will have the confidence today to strut your stuff. Plan a party for this day.

Aug 20 – Mars enters Gemini today and goes retrograde on the 30^th of October at 25 Gemini and will turn direct on January 12, 2023, at 8 Gemini.  This is a long, long time for Mars to be in Gemini.  Gemini rules speaking, writing, and change.  Start something now that has to do with the mind, speaking and communicating information.  This could give a lot of energy to Geminis, but knowing them as I do I think they will just get more anxious and run around starting this and that and accomplish nothing.  Gemini is the archetypal ‘Mad Hatter’ and a Gemini was picked to play that role.  Guess who?   Pray to Saturn to stay grounded.  Mars in Gemini will be good for Libra and Aquarius.

Aug 21 – Mercury Opposite Neptune at 24 Virgo/Pisces.  This could be very imaginative or it could lead to muddled thinking.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 25 degrees of Virgo or Pisces, daydream or visit a beautiful environment near the water.

Aug 22 – Mercury Trine Pluto at 26 degrees of Taurus/Capricorn.  I love this aspect.  Mercury gets help here from the powerhouse, Pluto. You can get help; people come in to support you.  If you are an author, you could find the right editor or publisher. Your speech is powerful and you can influence others if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 24 to 28 degrees of Taurus or Capricorn.

          Sun enters Virgo until Sep 22.  This brings in a month of simplicity and contentment.  Your sense of criticism is acute so watch for that from yourself and others.  Instead, get on Netflix and criticize the movies.

Aug 24 – Uranus turns retrograde at 18 Taurus and will stay retrograde until January 22, 2023.  Planets are the most powerful when they stop in the sky to change direction. Uranus here can bring in sudden events but the problem is you don’t know what the sudden event will be.  It helps to look at your natal chart and the house that contains 18 Taurus.  That is the area of life that could be shaken up and/or present an opening or an opportunity.  A crazy Aquarius could come into your life.

Aug 25 – Mercury enters Libra.  Here Mercury wants to compromise, be politically correct and find out what is best for all parties.  He has good manners and likes to perform tactful mediation.  In other words, he is a real bore here.   Mercury turns retrograde on Sep 9 at 8 degrees of Libra and then turns direct on Oct 2 at 25 Virgo.

Aug 27 – Today and tomorrow contain three squares and two oppositions. This is happening on the last weekend of summer when we want to take advantage of the beach and our last free time. Well, my advice is why don’t we all just take our little cots from the daycare corner and lay down and take a nap?  For two days!  If you decide not to listen to me and no one really does, be careful out there. No fisticuffs!  No yelling at other drivers!

New Moon at 4 Virgo Square Mars in Gemini, opposite Jupiter in Pisces.   A New Moon in Virgo isn’t too bad once we get through today.  Both Virgo and Gemini are ruled by Mercury and Mercury likes to organize, declutter or sort and categorize information.  Mars wants to act, and Jupiter wants to dream big.  This sets up the energy for the entire month, so get busy.

          Venus Square Uranus at 18 Leo and Taurus. Don’t give advice to anyone and don’t ask for it either.  Your relatives and friends could be ornery and stubborn.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 16 to 20 Leo or Taurus, maybe you are the contrary one.

          Sun Square Mars at 3 Virgo/Gemini. Use moderation on this one. Everyone around you could feel angry.  Just keep your head down and mind your own business.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 1 to 5 Virgo or Gemini, find a way to cool down.

Aug 28 – Venus Opposite Saturn at 20 degrees of Leo/Aquarius.  You could be criticized today by others who are just showing off all that they know.  Be like a stoic; let it just wash over you.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 18 to 22 degrees of Leo or Aquarius, you may be the catty one picking on everyone.

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:

JUPITER entered Aries on May 1, 2022, and will stay in Aries until Oct 29, 2022, when he backs into Pisces.  This month he is retrograde and will travel from 8 to 6 degrees of Aries.  Jupiter in Aries is about taking the lead in our life. He is the big fat happy guy who was excessive in all things.  Jupiter also can expand our experiences, our knowledge, and our confidence.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant between 4 to10 degrees of Aries expect expansion and blossoming in that area of your chart.

SATURN is in Aquarius until March 2023.  He is retrograde and will move from 22 to 20 degrees this month.  Saturn rules our material world, and especially our career.  Saturn is the old traditional ruler of Aquarius.  So he is happy here.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets 18 to 24 degrees of Aquarius, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. While Saturn is in Aquarius, he will run around trying to restrict all of the social media that he will call fake news.  He hates to see freedom of expression which is what Aquarius is all about.

URANUS is in Taurus until Apr 2026.  This month he turns retrograde on August 24 and he stays at 18 degrees of Taurus all month.  This is the time to break loose and make some radical changes in your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable’.  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, (16 to 20 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio) go on a long vacation, preferably to somewhere you have never been before.  Or make some major changes in your life. Taurus is the earth.  Expect earth events such as farming, food, earthquakes volcanos or major weather events during the period that Uranus is in Taurus.

NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism, dreams) is in Pisces until 2026. Neptune is retrograde this month and will move from 25 to 24 degrees of Pisces.  A lack of focus, a sense of drifting, or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too late can be experienced by those of you with the ascendant or Personal Planets at 22 to 27 degrees of Pisces or Virgo. For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for some really inspired films to come out when Neptune is in Pisces. 

PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2023.  This month, Pluto is moving retrograde and will move from 27 to 26 degrees of Capricorn. He is grinding away in our psyche bringing up all sorts of difficult psychological crap. You should run to your nearest therapist especially if you have the ascendant or personal planets at 24 degrees of Capricorn to 0 degrees of Aquarius.  What needs to die in order to be reborn?

The Pluto Return in the U.S. Birth Chart

The USA Pluto Return – Exact on 2/20/22, 7/11/22, 12/28/22

Here are some of my thoughts concerning the very rare Pluto return to the U.S that we are experiencing now.

Pluto has traveled all the way around the Sun and is back to where it was in the birth chart of the United States (July 4, 1776). It’s called a Pluto return and only happens once every 246 years. So this is America’s first Pluto Return.  Pluto is an incredibly powerful planet and rules the process of decay, destruction, transformation, and regeneration.  Pluto moves very slowly so Pluto’s death and rebirth process takes time.

As early as March of 2016 (using a 10-degree orb) we may have seen glimmers of upcoming changes transiting Pluto will create. These will continue all the way through April of 2032. I find that long-term transits such as this one are most intense when they are within a 5-degree orb.  This means that the Pluto return will be in its most dynamic phase from Dec 2019 through March 2025. To understand when events will happen that symbolize Pluto's return, we need to look at when transits of the inner planets trigger Pluto's return.

In researching other countries we find that when they experienced a Pluto return their form of government went through a major transformation. The U.S. is a constitutional federal republic.  It’s interesting to speculate how this will change in the coming years under the influence of the Pluto Return.

This Month:

Mercury turns retrograde from May 10 until June 3.

Jupiter changes signs moving from Pisces to Aries on May 10.

We have another eclipse on May 15 and we are still under the influence of the April 30 eclipse.  For more information on these eclipses, read my Eclipse report. The ancients believed that eclipses only affected the rulers of the world and not the rest of us peons.  Note that both Vladimir Putin and President Biden have these eclipses conjunct their Venus. President Biden also has the Lunar Eclipse on his Sun. Queen Elizabeth has the Lunar Eclipse on her Saturn. Briefly, an eclipse on Venus can bring a change in popularity and an eclipse on the Sun can bring attention either positive or negative. An eclipse on Saturn highlights the career and legacy.

May 2 – Venus enters the hot-headed sign of Aries until May 28. You will be very assertive in going after a relationship. This can create a strong desire to love someone and be loved in return.  This will add high-speed energy to your love life.  Venus also rules your values.  During this time you could express your values and feelings in bold new ways

May 5 – Sun Conjunct Uranus at 14 degrees of Taurus. Uranus brings in original, eccentric ideas and people that can intrude into your life via a sudden event.  This will affect those of you with personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars) or the ascendant at 12 to 16 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio.  Taurus types like a calm, peaceful no-drama life.  Well, today, be ready to be shook up. On the other hand, Scorpio doesn’t mind a rumble once in a while.  The rest of us will feel the energy of Uranus in the house of your chart that contains 14 degrees of Taurus.  This only lasts a couple of days.  Enjoy the surprise that Uranus will spring on you. May 10 – Mercury turns retrograde at 4 degrees of Gemini, dips back into Taurus on the 22^nd of May, turns direct on the 3^rd of June at 22 Taurus, and heads back into Gemini on the 13^th of June.  He will remain in Gemini until July 5. Mercury rules the mind, and how we think and express ourselves.  Gemini wants to read everything, know everything and talk about everything. If you have any Geminis around you at this time, you will be able to see the smoke coming out of their ears. Taurus on the other hand will stay asleep during the whole thing.

May 10 – Jupiter enters Aries. Jupiter represents optimism, growth, generosity, joy, and abundance.  In Aries, you will attract these things when you lead, initiate, inspire others, and demonstrate enthusiasm and courage. In Aries, you identify strongly with your own opinions, beliefs, and perceptions.  During this time you have the confidence to push forward with your plans. The areas of your life ruled by the house in your natal chart that contains Aries will be more joyful and good luck could come in around those areas.  Aries types tend to go over the top anyway and Jupiter will urge them to go further and higher. You are an Aries type if you have the Sun, Moon, or the Ascendant in Aries.  Watch out for being too pushy, I mean more than you usually are.

May 15 – Sun Square Saturn at 24 Taurus and Aquarius.  Don’t take risks today; you could be disappointed and also disillusioned. A downer day if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 26 Taurus or Aquarius.

May 16 – Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 25 Taurus.  This is a very complex eclipse.  Read my eclipse report to understand this energy. Those affected have personal planets or the ascendant at 23 to 27 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio. It’s time to let go and open up to new ideas and ways of life.

May 18 – Mars conjunct Neptune at 24 degrees of Pisces.  Where are you going?  Are you lost?  Sometimes it’s good to be lost because then you can find a new path forward.  But with Neptune, you need to watch out for scams today.  Don’t believe anyone or anything.  Your best bet is to go to a park and talk to the trees.

May 19 – Sun Trine Pluto at 28 Taurus/Capricorn.  This is a very good grounded, practical aspect.  Work with someone you trust.  You can accomplish a lot today if (as our old school teachers said) you apply yourself.  This will be an especially productive day if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 26 degrees of Taurus to 29 degrees of Taurus or Capricorn or at 0 degrees of Aries or Aquarius.

May 20 – Sun Enters Gemini until June 21. During this month you want to know everything about every subject. You can be very nosy about everyone else’s business and become a big gossip. You are social and insatiably curious. This is a good time to put all of your diverse interests into writing.  But like the other three mutable signs (Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces) you could just spend this month spinning your wheels and accomplish zilch.

May 21 – Sun Conjunct Mercury at 0 Gemini. Both business and pleasure are favorable under this aspect. Your mind is buzzing.  This is a good day to plan a trip or communicate with others. You are especially brilliant today if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 28 Taurus to 2 Gemini.

May 22 – Mercury enters Taurus until June 13.  During this time we all become more grounded and practical.  We can give common-sense advice to each other and we are not interested in new-fangled ideas that our fellow Aquarians are spouting off.

May 24 – Mars enters Aries until July 5. Uh oh, the god of war, the ruler of Aries is in Aries. This is a time to wake up and accomplish something. We may all become more brash and impulsive.  Check the house in your birth chart that contains Aries.  This is the area of your life where you can channel this energy.

May 25 – Mercury Trine Pluto at 28 degrees of Taurus/Capricorn. Another good day to get a lot accomplished.  Taurus rules gardens and Capricorn rules land so get out there and dig in the dirt.  This is a great gardening day if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 26 to 29 Taurus/Capricorn or at 0 Gemini/Aquarius.

May 27 – Venus Square Pluto at 28 degrees of Aries/Capricorn. The person you meet today on a blind date could be a controlling sociopath.  Don’t say I didn’t warn you. It’s best to stay home if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 26 through 29 degrees of Aries or Capricorn or at 0 degrees of Taurus or Aquarius.

May 28 – Venus enters Taurus until June 22. Venus loves it here, she wants to cuddle, eat, sleep and indulge herself.  Enjoy this period. Don’t worry about being lazy and gaining weight. You don’t want to deny Aphrodite.

May 29 – Mars Conjunct Jupiter at 3 degrees of Aries.  Jupiter expands every planet he touches. Here he is increasing the energy of Mars.  This is a good day to hike or work out in the gym. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 1 to 5 degrees of Aries be careful of impulsive actions today.

May 30 – Memorial Day.  A New Moon at 9 degrees of Gemini. This new moon will influence our life until the full moon on June 14.  This period brings in change and spontaneity, but It can help us keep a cool head.  We can become more talkative. This energy will be stronger if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 7 to 9 degrees of Gemini.  Check your birth chart for the house that contains 9 degrees of Gemini. This is the area of life where you will experience an urge for something new.

January 2022 Forecast

Here is a New Year’s Day gift to make you happy.  It is a forecast for 2022 from Astro Butterfly.  She is much more optimistic than I am about this coming year--she must be a Jupiter type.

If you were born between the 19^th and 27^th of February you are in for a treat.  Jupiter, the planet of optimism and good luck will be all over you this month.  I know you are introverted and like to stay at home under the duvet daydreaming, but Jupiter won’t let you. He will push you off the couch and send you traveling, taking classes, taking some risks, and expanding in all areas of your life --including your waistline. (I just can’t deliver good news without a zinger in there.) Pisces has the richest inner fantasy life of all of the signs. Jupiter wants you to act on them. Wake up Pisces! Get moving!

Jan 1 – Sun Trine Uranus at 10 Capricorn/Taurus.  This aspect allows you to take your unconventional ideas or plans and make them work.  Your ideas will flow into practical results, especially if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars) or the ascendant at 8 to 12 Capricorn or Taurus.

Jan 2 – Mercury enters Aquarius until March 9. He turns retrograde on January 14 and backs up into Capricorn on January 27.  He will turn direct in Capricorn on Feb 4.  You could have some revolutionary ideas during Mercury in Aquarius.  You become more aware of your thoughts and can do a lot of rethinking about ideas you were sure of in the past. 

          New Moon at 12 degrees of Capricorn.  This New Moon has a positive aspect to Uranus.  Uranus represents liberation and freedom.  This is a very positive New Moon.  It foretells very encouraging events and attitudes for the month.  Capricorn is the master builder.  What do you want to build this month?  This aspect creates very progressive grounded energy for all of us but especially those of you with personal planets or the ascendant at 10 to 14 degrees of Capricorn.

Jan 8 – Retrograde Venus conjunct the Sun at 18 Capricorn. The three days surrounding this aspect can be good for money, possession and assets.  Because Venus is retrograde it is a good time to sit with your financial advisor and see if you need to make adjustments to your portfolio, if you have one. Venus also rules relationships and some of your relationships started to go bye-bye when Venus first turned retrograde on Dec 19.  Don’t make any grand gestures about separation.  Wait until Venus goes direct on January 29-- some healing may occur then.  The two subjects we seem to care about the most are money and love. What do you do about these issues if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 16 to 20 Capricorn? A lot of you expect astrologers to have answers to these sorts of questions.  We don’t!

Jan 11 – Mars Square Neptune at 20 degrees of Sagittarius/Pisces. This can create religious wars or a lot of Twitter wars among people shouting and defending their beliefs.  Admit it! You have no idea what is true or what is real. You are just as confused as the rest of us, Stop banging on your laptop about your nutty dogmatic ideas. No one wants to hear them. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 18 to 22 Sagittarius or Pisces, you may come off a little crazier than you usually do. 

Jan 14 – Mercury turns retrograde at 10 Aquarius until Feb 4 when he turns direct at 24 Capricorn. Here we go again, don’t hide in the closet.  Just don’t sign any contracts, or buy travel tickets without cancellation insurance.  And don’t buy a car, computer and any other mechanical or electrical appliance.  Your mental wires could be crossed if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 to 12 degrees of Aquarius when Mercury stops in the sky to turn retrograde.  

Jan 17 – Full Moon at 27 degrees of Cancer/Capricorn. This full moon will conjunct and oppose Pluto.  Things could become rather intense on this Full moon.  There could be difficulties in many parts of the world.  The plutocrats may decide to go to war with one another.  Won’t that be great to see? We could also witness large corporations and banks trying to swallow each other-- sorta like Godzilla vs King Kong.  This will last for the following 2 weeks until the New Moon on Feb 1.  This Full Moon will affect all of us but especially those of you with 25 to 29 degrees of Cancer or Capricorn on your personal planets or the ascendant.  Looking at my old traditional astrologer, he says Sun, Moon and Pluto can lead to “Brutal suppression of the feelings and irritability.”  I wish he would lighten up.

January 18 – Uranus turns direct at 10 Taurus. While you are out there worrying about Mercury retrograde, Uranus will start turning everything upside down and rippling through our lives causing major upheaval.  He is not a very stable guy.  This could be good if you feel stuck. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 to 12 Taurus, watch out.  The upheaval could be caused by you.  You are sick and tired of the place you live, the people you live with and your entire life in general.  Oh My!

Jan 19 – Sun enters Aquarius until Feb 18. The Sun in Aquarius can bring unpredictable events that could shock and amaze us.  But this energy will help us make changes and also could bring in some new interesting friends. 

Jan 23 – Sun conjunct Mercury at 3 degrees of Aquarius. You may be planning a trip or planning to take a course.  This is good for the fulfillment of your ambitions.  If you have personal planets at 1 to 5 degrees of Aquarius, take advantage of this day.

Jan 24 – Mars enters Capricorn until March 6. Mars just loves being in Capricorn because he can put all of his energy into building a business, creating something durable, building a house, or buying some property.  He is not as erratic or angry in Capricorn.  He’s too busy.

Jan 25 – Mercury enters Capricorn until Feb 15.  He is moving retrograde now, and Capricorn is the sign of traditional values, so you may decide to go through all of your old family pictures and do some baking and gardening.  Maybe put on one of those dresses the Amish wear.  And for you guys,  I love those black hats on the Amish men.  Go for it.

Jan 28 – Mercury conjunct Pluto at 26 Capricorn.  Keep your intentions to yourself.  You could be totally humiliated because you talked to the wrong person at the wrong time.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 23 to 27 Capricorn, Zip it!

Jan 29 – Venus turns direct.  Now you can move ahead on the important things of life—love and money.  Aphrodite wasn’t happy going backward -- she kept tripping over her gown. Now is the time to bring beauty into your life.

Jan 30 – Sun Square Uranus at 10 degrees of Aquarius/Taurus. Aquarius and Taurus do not like each other.  Aquarius keep spouting metaphysical ideas and bragging about his discovery of the location of Atlantis – Taurus just wants to mellow out and wants him to shut up.  Because of this discordant energy, you can make a lot of mistakes today, especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 to 12 degrees of Aquarius or Taurus.

If you have personal planets or the ascendant between 0 and 8 degrees of Pisces expect expansion and blossoming in that area of your chart.

Saturn is the old traditional ruler of Aquarius.  So he is happy here.   If you have the ascendant or any personal planets 9 to 17 degrees of Aquarius, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. While Saturn is in Aquarius, he will run around trying to restrict all of the social media that he will call fake news.  He hates to see freedom of expression which is what Aquarius is all about.

URANUS is in Taurus until Apr 2026. This month he is moving retrograde until January 18 when he goes direct.  He is totally stopped in the sky all month at 10 degrees of Taurus.  Maybe you have wanted to make some radical changes.  Wait until after the 18^th and the changes may be easier.  I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable’.  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, (8 to 12 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio) go on a long vacation, preferably to somewhere you have never been before.   Or make some major changes in your life. Taurus is the earth.  Expect earth events such as earthquakes volcanos or major weather events during the period that Uranus is in Taurus.

NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism, dreams) is in Pisces until 2026. This month he moves from at 20 to 21 degrees.  A lack of focus, a sense of drifting, or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too late can be experienced by those of you with the ascendant or Personal Planets at 18 to 23 degrees of Pisces or Virgo. For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for some really inspired films to come out during the time Neptune is in Pisces. 

PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2023.  This month, Pluto moves from 25 to 26 degrees of Capricorn.  Profound changes will be felt especially by those with the ascendant or personal planets at 23 to 28 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer. What needs to die in order to be reborn?
