Astrological Forecast for May, 2026

The Mind - Uranus in Gemini

4/30/20266 min read

Before I jump into the May forecast, I want to linger for a minute on a big shift that started April 25, when Uranus moved into Gemini. Uranus changes signs about every seven years, and when it does, it picks a part of life and basically says, “Let’s see what happens if I shake this like a snow globe.”

This time, it’s going after the mind—how we think, how we talk to each other, how we learn, and how we decide what’s real and what isn’t. In other words… nothing major. Over the next seven years, communication is going to change so much we may not even recognize it by the end. Artificial intelligence will definitely have a hand in it—whether it’s helping us think or doing the thinking for us is still up for debate.

Uranus rules disruption, revolution, technology, freedom—all the things that don’t ask permission before they arrive. So don’t be surprised if trust in big, centralized news sources starts to wobble, and more independent voices pop up everywhere like dandelions.

The last time Uranus was in Gemini was 1942 to 1947. If you peek back there, you can see the seeds of how we process information today. In the United Kingdom, people were hard at work cracking the Enigma machine codes used by Nazi Germany—and who did they hire? Writers, puzzle lovers, crossword fanatics… very Gemini. Around the same time, television showed up and said, “Hello, I will now tell you what reality looks like.”

My hunch? Over the next seven years, TV may quietly shuffle offstage while something newer—and probably stranger—takes its place.

And sometimes, when a planet enters a new sign, it gives a little preview, like a trailer before the movie. On April 25, the very day Uranus entered Gemini, there was a sudden shooting in a hotel full of correspondents. Uranus (sudden shock) meets Gemini (media, messengers). I think the universe has a sense of humor.

On a personal level, this is a great stretch of time for writers. Your words may come in sideways, upside down, and unexpectedly brilliant. Uranus will shake up how you think, write, research, and create—especially anything involving language. Just remember: Gemini loves words… sometimes a few too many. A good editor may become your new best friend.

Also, people you meet over the next seven years could really change how you think. Some of them will have minds that move like lightning. Try to keep up—it’s part of the fun.

You might want to check where Gemini falls in your birth chart. That’s the area of life where things may get a little… interesting. Disruptions, insights, surprises—the whole Uranian package. See the Meaning of the Houses here.

Now here’s where astrologers start getting a little giddy. During this period, Uranus will be making a harmonious trine to Pluto in Aquarius, especially from mid-2025 through 2028. This combination has been circled, underlined, and probably decorated with stars in astrology notebooks for decades. People are calling it potentially one of the most creative, transformative periods we’ve seen in a very long time.

During Uranus’ time in Gemini, he will trine Pluto in Aquarius from mid-2025 to 2028. This is the most transformative, positive time in history. the astrologers have been going gaga over this period for decades. With other outer planets making positive aspects to Uranus and Pluto in July 2026, we are looking for a renaissance: A New Age. How will this happen based on what we are seeing today? Maybe the old dinosaurs, the men who are running the world today, will go, and younger, enlightened leaders will take over. (…you may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.)

Add in a few more supportive planetary alignments around July 2026, and suddenly the word “renaissance” starts getting tossed around. A new age. A fresh chapter.

Note to my Astrology Clients. Use your Planetary Placement and Ascendant sheet to find if you have a personal planet (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars) or the ascendant within 2 degrees of the degree of the transits listed below. If so, the transit will have a significant impact on you.

May 1 – Full Moon at 11 Scorpio. Let go of what no long serves you.

May 2 – Mercury enters Taurus until May 17. I like Mercury in Taurus, it’s a time to get grounded and work on the practical things in life. But watch out for being stuck in a rut, and becoming too stubborn and rigid.

May 4 – Mars square Jupiter at 19 Aries/Cancer. Today, you could be self-satisfied, smug, pompous and wasteful. …Wait, I’m not done.. Also, unreliable, indolent, conceited and demanding. Yes I am talking to you Cancer.

May 5 – Mercury Square Pluto at 5 degrees of Taurus Aquarius. Both Taurus and Aquarius are fixed signs. Don’t start an argument at this time, neither of you will give an inch.

May 6 – Pluto turns Retrograde at 5 Aquarius. If you have any personal planets at 3 to 7 of Aquarius. May Jove help you! He is staying at 5 Aquarius until the end of June. He likes to excavate all of the stuff you have been pushing underground. It’s time to face your shadow.

May 14 – Sun Conjunct Mercury at 23 Taurus. If you have had trouble thinking through a problem, this is the day you have been waiting for. The solution is here.

May 16 – New Moon at 25 Taurus. Set your intention for long term financial security.

May 22 – Venus Square Neptune at 3 Cancer/Aries. You could become intoxicated by love or you could get lost in deception.

Sun conjunct Uranus at 1 degree of Gemini. You could knock people over today as you strive for independence. You are restless and want to break free of your old habits and people.

May 25 – Memorial Day

May 26 – Mars square Pluto at 5 Taurus/Pluto. This can be a nasty transit. An unstopable energy meets an unmovable object. It’s not a good date night.

Sun Trine Pluto at 5 Gemini/Pluto. This is very positive healing energy. You could magnetically attract like minded people into your life.

May 28 - Venus Square Saturn at 11 Cancer/Aries. Another not so good date night. Love cools off. You feel lonely and the only possible partners are only interested in your bank account.

May 31 – Full Moon at 9 Sagittarius. This brings in intense, illuminating energy focused on expansion, truth, and adventure. This lunation highlights the need to break free from limitations, encouraging a search for truth.

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS FOR MAY 2026

JUPITER is in Cancer until June 20, 2026. Jupiter is expansive by nature, amplifying whatever it touches. In Cancer, its influence centers on home, family, and emotional foundations. You may feel a stronger pull toward domestic life or nurturing connections. At times, this can manifest as crowded schedules, increased family involvement, or unexpected developments within the household. While this transit often brings blessings and growth, it can also feel overwhelming if boundaries are unclear—especially for those with natal planets between 16 and 25 degrees of Cancer or Capricorn.

SATURN is in the fiery, assertive sign of Aries. This month he will move from 9 to 12 degrees of Aries. Saturn governs structure, discipline, and the material aspects of life. If your ascendant or personal planets fall between 7 to 14 degrees of Aries, you may encounter lessons that highlight responsibilities connected to the house Aries occupies in your chart. Saturn in Aries encourages greater self-reliance, confidence, and focused action toward long-term goals, particularly in career and personal ambition.

URANUS just entered Gemini on April 25. Uranus symbolizes change, awakening, and liberation, often prompting sudden shifts that lead to greater authenticity. If Uranus forms strong aspects to your ascendant or personal planets—especially between 0 and 2 degrees of Gemini or Sagittarius—you may feel an urge to break free from limiting patterns. This can be a powerful period to embrace change intentionally rather than resist it.

NEPTUNE travels through Aries all month, moving from 3 to 4 degrees. Those with ascendants or personal planets between 1 to 6 degrees of Aries may experience heightened sensitivity, periods of uncertainty, or a search for clarity. Neptune can blur boundaries but also inspires creativity, spirituality, and compassion. Having spent many years in Pisces since 2011, Neptune’s move into Aries marks a shift from passive reflection to active imagination, encouraging individuals to envision a future shaped by courage and initiative.

PLUTO remains in Aquarius until 2043, and he stops in the sky all month at 5 degrees of Aquarius while turning retrograde. Pluto’s influence is transformative, often bringing deep psychological material to the surface for examination and renewal. Those with ascendants or personal planets between 3 through 7 degrees Aquarius may feel this energy most strongly. Pluto’s process can be intense, yet it ultimately supports empowerment by revealing what must be released in order for growth and rebirth to occur.

Let’s co-create the future together.
