December 2025 Forecast

"All men are by nature equally free and independent." — Filippo Mazzei (1730-1812)

This is the perfect time for PBS to carry the Ken Burns series on the American Revolution. The revolutionary power of Pluto in Aquarius has now returned to the place it occupied from 1778 through 1798. The only problem I have with the series is that it suggests we got the idea of democracy from the American Indians. Some of the tribes did form a pact called the Iroquois Confederacy, created to stop intertribal warfare, promote peace, and build a unified defense against common enemies--especially European settlers-- but it was not a democracy. What they did have was a system in which the grandmothers of the tribes would choose the leaders, who held their positions for life. There was no voting and no democratic structure. These clan mothers were consulted before the chiefs took any action. They held significant political authority and understood that the masculine energy needed the balance of the feminine.

The idea of democracy came from the Florentine Renaissance. An Italian from Florence named Phillip Mazzei became friends with Thomas Jefferson and helped him write the Declaration of Independence. I think a combination of Renaissance democratic ideals plus a council of grandmothers sitting in on Congress to approve or disapprove of its actions would come close to a perfect form of government. But, alas, we left out the wisdom of the Crones in our system-- and the result is history.

“Remember the Ladies, and be more generous and favourable to them than your ancestors” – Abigail Adams to her husband John 1776”

Also, during the American Revolution, Uranus was in Gemini (May 1767 to April 1779.) Uranus in Gemini represents freedom of speech. During that era, the pamphlets and newspapers fanned the fire of revolt. We will have Uranus move into Gemini in late March 2026 joining in a sextile to Neptune and Saturn in Aries. We are living through a hinge of history. The Age of Illusion is burning out, and the Age of Resonance is lighting up our future.

Mercury has just turned retrograde last month on the 29th. He is now moving direct so we may think we can move ahead this month, but wait. Three planets are still moving retrograde as December opens. So we could end up just spinning our wheels. When planets are retrograde, it is the best time for reflection and assimilation since the retrograde movement tends to direct our attention to the past for review. A great deal is happening under the surface that will rise up into our awareness over the new few months, particularly as these planets go direct and change signs.

During the Full Moon on Dec 4. We find out more about the stories that have captured our attention this last month. Mainly I think Jeffrey Epstein will still be in the picture. His MC will be highlighted during this Full Moon. The MC in a birth chart represents our presence in the outer world, our public standing, how people see us. I’m sorry to say, we will be hearing a lot more about him. Remember, our birth charts keep working after we are gone.

Pluto in Aquarius is till grinding away at the elites, trying to level the playing field. Aquarius is the people; it opposes Leo, the king. Whoever coined the ‘No Kings’ slogan was right on the mark. So far, Prince Andrew has lost is title, Duke of York and Prince Harry and Meghan are losing their titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Aquarius does not like Dukes, Duchesses, Kings or Queens. This is not only about England; Pluto does not tolerate celebrities and people in power. Pluto wants to bring everyone down to the level of the common man. If this sounds like communism to you, you’re right. Some form of communism may become very popular during this time.

Highlights for this month:

Note to my Astrology Clients. Use your Planetary Placement and Ascendant sheet to find if you have a personal planet (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars) or the ascendant within 2 degrees of the degree of the transits listed below. If so, the transit will have a significant impact on you.

December starts out with a bang with a Full Moon at 13 Gemini on the 4th. The Sun is in Sagittarius along with Venus and Mars and the Moon is in Gemini. Sagittarius rules truth, publishing, and international affairs. Both Gemini and Sagittarius can be blabbermouths. A lot of brutal truth will burst out in the media a few days abound this date. A lot of dirt has been recovered thanks to Pluto, the deep diver in Aquarius, the truth. During this time, what was recovered will now be blasted out. If you have planets at 11 to 15 degrees of Gemini or Sagittarius, be sure of the facts before you speak. We may be dealing with old hurts and old scars that may surface. It’s time to let them go. A totally new story will emerge next year, globally and personally.

Venus the Goddess of love, money, beauty and compromise will be in Sagittarius most of the month. In Sagittarius, she has an idealistic concept of love. Here she is inclined toward international or exotic relationships. Anyone with Venus in Sagittarius in their natal chart will be optimistic, independent proud, elegant, sincere and educated.

On Dec 8. She will square Saturn. She may be inclined to feel lonely during this time. What happened to all of those friends she surrounded herself with? She feels dejected and hopeless. But Saturn could level out that overoptimism and risk-taking of Sagittarius. Don’t forget that sign is ruled by Jupiter who is excessive in everything. Sagittarius here might take a peek at her credit card bill and stop spending,

Later in the month Venus will enter Capricorn on the Dec 24th until January 17, 2026. To go out with someone with Venus in Capricorn you need to have money in the bank and stocks and bonds somewhere around a mil.

While in Capricorn, Venus will Square Saturn on the 21st and then square Neptune on the 24th. Venus the planet of society and love with Saturn may bring loneliness or a sense of feeling unloved. Or maybe Venus falls in love with a person much older, a mature Saturn person with plenty of money. With Neptune, Venus can fall in love with a nutter, or could get lost in deceptive misleading ideals. Don’t go on a dating site, when Venus is square to Neptune, There are vampires lurking, ready to pounce.

Neptune stations and turns direct at 29 Pisces on Dec 10- I try to view all planets equally, but I really don’t like Neptune. Yes, he rules imagination, music, dance, poetry, drama, and spirituality, blah, blah, blah. But he also tends to make us confused and vulnerable. Neptune has been in his own sign of Pisces since April 2011. He briefly entered Aries on March 30, 2025 when the fog lifted a bit and we saw clearly, but in Oct 2025, he backed into Pisces and we became our delusional selves again. Air signs (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius) think they can negotiate with Neptune but they can’t. They can be just as blindsided as anyone else. Neptune loves to play with our heads.

When I do yearly updates for clients and see a Neptune transit, I pay special attention to outlining what could occur. But of course, under a Neptune transit, no one listens to me—they’re off in La- La land. Throughout December, be alert to Neptunian illusions. When Neptune enters Aries at the end of January and then slams into Saturn in February, we will wake up and wonder how we could have possibly belived the crap that was fed to us.

Mercury the planet of communication and the archetype of the trickster is entering Sagittarius on Dec 11 until January 1, 2026. He loves Sagittarius because Mercury wants to know everything and Sagittarius rules higher education. He can get a little arrogant now and develop a know-it-all attitude, but if you have Mercury in Sagittarius in your birth chart--maybe you do know it all.

On Dec 11 he trines Neptune bringing in imaginal inspiration and heightened intuition. At the end of the month on Dec 30, he squares Saturn bringing realism and clear thinking. Take all of the mental ramblings you jotted down in your journal this month and start to edit.

Mars has been in Sagittarius since Nov 4 . Since then we wanted to pursue truth, belief, or travel to foreign lands. On Dec 14, he will square Neptune at 21 degrees of Sagittarius/Pisces. This will be in effect for a week beforehand. Your energy could be misguided or quickly fizzle out. You could feel weak or helpless. Neptune rules seduction and intoxication and Mars, the masculine planet, rules aggression. You figure it out.

On December 15, Mars enters Capricorn until January 23, 2026. This is a good placement for Mars. His energy becomes concentrated, ambitious and disciplined. He makes careful decisions. He is a long distance runner. The Capricorn goat climbs the mountain very slowly but always reaches the top. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the late bloomer. He can be delayed by regrets, remorse or guilt but he gets there.

The Sun has been in Sagittarius since Nov 21. We enjoy ourselves with Sagittarius energy around us--it helps expand our minds and our relationships. What’s not to like? Well, being a Saturn type, I’m always looking for the dark side. We could come under the sway of Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, and eat to excess especially on Thanksgiving. So we may put on a little weight but that’s fine because we can take it off when the Sun enters Capricorn on Dec 21.

On Dec 16, The Sun in Sagittarius squares Saturn at 25 degrees of Sagittarius/Pisces. Here, Sagittarius’ sunny disposition runs into an embittered old man. Is it your boss? Your mate? Or an authority figure you must to deal with? We all have a fear of failure under this transit and struggle to believe in ourselves. Saturn likes to see work happening: clean the house, declutter and organize or, better, yet, throw out stuff. Make Saturn happy. Sagittarius hates doing this but sooner or later we all need to deal with Saturn.

While the Sun is in Sagittarius, he will conjunct the Moon at 25 degrees on Dec 19. A New Moon is the time to start something new. In Sagittarius, it’s a good time to travel and work on your educational goals and expand your worldview beyong your usual narrow focus. Get off the couch and out of the house.

The Sun in Sagittarius will square Neptune at 29 degrees of Pisces on Dec 20. We are still not through with pesky delusional Neptune yet. Under this aspect, we may long for love, escape or a spiritual path. We could fall victim to a false self-image or become addicted to a substance, a person or an idea.

The Sun enters Capricorn on Dec 21 until January 19, 2026. We are in Saturn’s realm now. We may lose those extra pounds. Saturn rules winter and frugality. This is a good time to pursue your ambitions.

Dec 31 – New Year’s Eve – Be hopeful and optimistic about 2026. It will start out a little rocky but a new human story will eventually be revealed.

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS FOR DECEMBER 2025

JUPITER is in Cancer until June 20, 2026. Jupiter is retrograde all month and travels from 24 to 21 degrees of Cancer. Jupiter is the big, fat, happy guy who is expansive in everything. In Cancer, he wants to expand your home and family. Watch out for intrusive visitors, family members moving in or unexpected pregnancies. This transit can bring luck and blessings to our home and family, but sometimes it could be too much of a good thing-- especially if you have natal planets from 18 and 26 degrees of Cancer or Capricorn.

SATURN will be in Pisces until Feb 2026 and he is now moving direct. This month he will travel from 25 to 26 degrees of Pisces. Saturn rules your material world. If your ascendant or any personal planets are between 23 to 28 degrees of Pisces, you may be in store for some hard lessons about the issues in the house containing Pisces. Pisces wants to dream, listen to music and paint pictures, but Saturn says, sorry, you have work to do.

URANUS is retrograde in Taurus traveling from 29 to 27 degrees. This is the time to break loose and radically change your life. I believe in “cooperating with the inevitable.” If Uranus is in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets (25 degrees of Taurus to 2 degrees of Gemini or 25 degrees of Scorpio to 2 degrees of Sagittarius. ) take off on an extended vacation to somewhere new—or make major changes.

NEPTUNE is retrograde in Pisces until the 10th when he turns direct holding at 29 degrees of Pisces all month. If your ascendant or personal planets are between 27 degrees of Pisces to 2 degrees of Aries, you may lack focus, drift or feel betrayal. Neptune can also bring artistic, and spiritual gifts. With Neptune in Pisces since April 2011, many have felt like victims. When Neptune enters Aries in late January 2026, you will decide to take charge, push back and move forward.

PLUTO is in Aquarius until 2043 moving direct this month from 1 to 2 degrees. Pluto grinds away at your psyche, bringing up complex psychological issues. You should run to your nearest therapist, especially if you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 0 to 4 degrees of Aquarius. Pluto asks what needs to die to be reborn.

Have a good month and enjoy the Holidays. Try not to pay any attention to what is dying in our world but to what is being born.
