October 2024 Forecast

Two unusual astronomical events are happening this month.

1. The Earth captured an asteroid on Sep 29, and it will orbit the Earth for 56 days, giving us a second moon. What does having a second moon mean? I’ve never seen this before, so I’m making a guess. The moon influences the fluctuations of our emotions. With two moons, we could feel overly emotional during these 56 days.

Comet Atlas will appear in the sky in the sign of Leo and will be visible from Oct 10 through 16. The best time to see this comet is on Oct 14 in the evening looking west.  Comets were known as omens and harbingers of things to come.  The Romans believed that comets brought death, riots, wars, and slaughter.  In Leo, they would predict the death of a king.                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

October could be a potentially explosive month. Mars in Cancer and Pluto Capricorn on closing in to square each other. Mars is squaring both the New Moon and Full Moon this month, and Pluto is squaring the Full Moon. Mars and Pluto are two guys you want to mess with.  Try to play nice this month.  Treat others with kid gloves.  Some hotheads may be around you; don't be one of them.  Also, Mars is the god of war, so we can expect conflicts to continue this month.  The Solar Eclipse in Libra on Oct 2 indicates that groups of people will try to bring peace.

Oct 2 – Solar Eclipse at 10 Libra. This eclipse is in conjunction with Mercury and is square to Mars in Cancer. This is the last eclipse in Libra until 2033.  Libra is about balance, harmony, and compromise.  It is conjunct Mercury, the planet of communications.  I hope there are some negotiations for peace around the world.  But, that pesky Mars is in a square to this eclipse, giving the eclipse a harsh edge.  Mars is in Cancer, the homeland.  So, despite my optimism, we may see continuing battles around protecting our homes or territories.

Oct 4 – Venus Trine Saturn at 14 degrees of Scorpio/Pisces.  You may meet with a friend that you have not seen in a long time.

Oct 6 – Mercury Square Mars at 17 degrees of Libra/Cancer.  Everyone is saying what is on their minds.  This is not always a good thing.  A bit of diplomacy may be required. Otherwise, this aspect could lead to quarrels.  Keep your tongue and pen under control.  Don’t start ranting on Twitter (now called X).

Oct 8 – Venus Trine Mars at 18 degrees of Scorpio/Cancer. Give serious consideration to your future security. Try to free yourself from financial worry.

          Mercury Trine Jupiter at 21 Libra/Gemini.  This is positive for financial good fortune or for finding a lucrative job.

Oct 9 – Jupiter turns retrograde at 21 Gemini.  You could feel this energy for many days if you have planets in mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces) within 5 degrees of 21 degrees.  You could exaggerate possibilities, count on more than you get, or take on more than you can handle. 

Oct 11 – Pluto turns direct at 29 Capricorn. Pluto is square King Charles’ Moon, and Saturn is near a conjunct with his Sun of vitality.  This could bring in a critical period for him.  When planets stop in the sky to change direction, they become more intense. Pluto rules death and rebirth, regeneration and transformation.

Oct 13 – Mercury enters Scorpio until Nov 2.  Mercury here brings us news and information from the depths, from what is hidden.  It could bring in news about corruption, vice, and dishonesty.  Try not to become obsessive, and use this energy when doing research.

          Mercury Square Pluto at 29 degrees of Libra/Capricorn.  Be careful of making plans that may cost you significant money.  Also, verify all of your bills to avoid mistakes.

          Sun Trine Jupiter at 21 Libra/Gemini. This aspect can bring financial opportunities and educational advancement.  You can feel very self-assured on this day.

Oct 14 – Sun Square Mars at 21 Libra/Cancer. Use moderation and restraint today.  This can give you a spark of energy to get something done.  But don’t move too fast and be careful of accidents.

          Venus Opposite Uranus at 26 degrees of Scorpio/Taurus. You don’t want someone questioning your motives or your plans.  Try not to be too abrupt and nasty to this person. They may just be innocently curious.

          Uranus Retrograde is conjunct with Algol, the demon star, at 26 degrees of Taurus. This will be in effect all month and shows someone losing their head.  Think of the myth of Medusa.  While Uranus was moving direct, he moved within three degrees of Algol during the first attempted assassination of Donald Trump. During this month, we may see violent actions against leaders and heads of state or a prominent figure injured in the head.

Oct 15—Venus Trine Neptune at 27 degrees of Scorpio/Pisces. This is a good time to decorate your home or rearrange the furniture. Also, long-distance travel could inspire you.

Oct 17 – Full Moon at 24 Aries.  Full Moons bring culminations and revelations. Aries is about self-exertion, aggression, independence, leadership, and martial energy. It is ruled by Mars, which is also square in this Full Moon. And this Full Moon squares Pluto in Capricorn, ouch!  Mars is in Cancer, so people are trying to escape confined spaces or territories.

        Venus enters Sagittarius.  Venus leaves the deep waters of Scorpio and enters the sunny realms of Sagittarius.  Sagittarius is about truth, idealism, and adventures,.  They want to find the truth and preach that truth to others.  It’s an excellent time to produce art and to take an adventurous approach to life.

Before Venus enters Sagittarius on Oct 17, she has been in the last degrees of Scorpio; Venus will aspect Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.  She will oppose Uranus on Oct 14, trine Neptune on Oct 16 and sextile Pluto on Oct 17.  Oct 12 through Oct 19 will be an interesting few days.  Matters will revolve around relationships, romantic encounters, and deep emotional insights.  Venus in Scorpio has been its detriment since Sep 22, and that was not a good time for the status of women. Venus entering Sagittarius means that a woman’s situation improves.  A prominent woman in the US now is Kamala Harris, highlighted because she was born on a full moon in Aries. She may reach prominence around the date of this Full Moon, but it will be before the election. My guess here would be that Biden steps down and Harris becomes president.  Or Harris is involved in a leadership situation in the US that she will be remembered for. The square to Mars in Cancer says it may mean that it is a conflict connected to our homeland.

Oct 22 – Sun enters Scorpio.  Scorpio brings deep psychological insights as he penetrates the dark side.  It’s a water sign, so it portends deep human relationships.

          Sun Square Pluto at 29 degrees of Libra/Capricorn.  Someone is being controlling and wearing a velvet glove on an iron hand.  Is this you?   Demand as little as possible of others and try to remain pleasant.

          Mercury Trine Saturn at 13 degrees of Scorpio/Pisces.  Make realistic plans for your future.  Your judgment is excellent now.

Oct 28—Mars Trine Neptune at 27 Cancer/Pisces. You feel free to create and manifest your dreams. This is a very intuitive and creative aspect.

          Venus Square Saturn at 13 degrees of Sagittarius/Pisces. Don’t be belligerent and walk around with a chip on your shoulder.  You are very sarcastic today and may hurt someone’s feelings.

Oct 30 – Mercury Opposite Uranus at 25 degrees of Scorpio/Taurus. Try not to get irritated.  I know the people around you are not too bright.  Try to be patient with them.

Oct 31 – Mercury Trine Neptune at 27 degrees of Scorpio/Pisces.  Beautiful vibrations are prevalent today.  You feel contentment, happiness, and satisfaction, especially because you may have heard good news from a distance.

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS FOR AUGUST 2024:

JUPITER will turn retrograde on the 9^th of this month and move from 21 to 20 degrees of Gemini.  Jupiter is the big, fat, happy guy who is expansive in everything. In Gemini, he wants to speak, learn, teach, and write. Look to the house in your birth chart that contains Gemini.  For the next year, Jupiter will bring good luck and opportunities in the areas ruled by the house containing Gemini.

SATURN is in Pisces until May 26, 2025.  Saturn is retrograde all month and will move from 14 to 12 degrees of Pisces.  Saturn rules your material world and especially your career.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets anywhere from 10 to 16 degrees of Pisces or Virgo, you may be in store for some hard lessons about the issues in the house containing Pisces and or Virgo.  Pisces is a creative dreamer. While in Pisces, Saturn, he will try solidifying your dreams and fantasies. On the world stage, Saturn in Pisces can result in our institutions dissolving and the old systems breaking down.

URANUS is in Taurus until April 2026.  This Uranus is retrograde and moves from 26 to 25 degrees of Taurus. This is the time to break loose and radically change your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable.’  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets (23 to 28) degrees of Taurus or Scorpio), go on an extended vacation, preferably to somewhere you have never been.  Or make some significant changes in your life. Taurus represents the earth. Expect news about farming, food, earthquakes, volcanos, tornadoes, or other major weather changes while Uranus is in Taurus. 

NEPTUNE is in Pisces until 2026.  Neptune is retrograde all month and will move from 28 to 27 degrees of Pisces.  If you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 25 degrees of Pisces or Virgo to 2 degrees of Aries, you may lack focus during this time and want to daydream. Beware of a betrayal, a disappointment, and a sense of drifting. Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, and creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for inspired films to come out when Neptune is in Pisces.

PLUTO is retrograde in Capricorn but turns direct on the 11^th.  Pluto will stay at 29 degrees o Capricorn all month.  Pluto grinds away at your psyche, bringing up all sorts of complex psychological issues. You should run to your nearest therapist, especially if you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 27 degrees of Capricorn to 2 degrees of Aquarius.  Pluto asks what needs to die to be reborn.

Eclipses of September and October 2024

The first eclipse on September 18 is a Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Pisces. The second eclipse on October 2 is a Solar Eclipse in the sign of Libra.

The ancients believed that during an eclipse,” the mighty will fall". Eclipses are pivotal points and bring endings and beginnings-- births and deaths. The energy from an eclipse can last up to six months and can also become active a month before the actual eclipse.

Lunar Eclipse on September 18 at 25 degrees of Pisces/Virgo

This eclipse will be visible in Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America, the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, the Arctic, and Antarctica.  All U.S. states will get a good view of this partial lunar eclipse (except for Alaska and Hawaii),

This eclipse is square Jupiter, sextile Uranus, conjunct Neptune, and sextile Pluto.  This is a complicated Lunar Eclipse and hard to define.  But there are some excellent aspects here.  There could be emotional intensity, expansion, optimism, dreams, illusions, and spirituality. Because Neptune is involved in this eclipse, hidden things could be brought to the surface. There is just a hint of Saturn to keep all of us grounded.  Lunar eclipses, especially with Uranus involved, could help you let go and release something that no longer serves you. 

This powerful eclipse in Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, highlights the need to release old habits and embrace our intuitive gifts. Pisces brings heightened sensitivity and a surge in our creative energy. The Pisces/Virgo combination is the savior/martyr access. We may become aware that we have been playing the victim on this eclipse.

On a Lunar Eclipse, something will end, and on a Solar Eclipse, something will begin. A Lunar Eclipse is an opportunity to break free of negative habits or eliminate socially conditioned patterns of thoughts and behaviors that stand in the way of self-realization. 

A Lunar Eclipse can make us more aware of our patterns and unconscious motivations. This period can bring up old memories and feelings.  Full moon eclipses can bring things to completion that we have been working on. The Sun opposite the Moon lights up the Moon and brings previously unexamined areas of our life into awareness. Repressed energies emerge for confrontation and resolution.  Please pay attention to our dreams. Lunar Eclipses are more emotional than Solar Eclipses. 

Total Solar Eclipse on October 2 at 10 Libra

This Solar Eclipse will pass over parts of the Pacific Ocean, southern Chile, and southern Argentina.

In my consultation with clients, I have noticed that an eclipse wakes them up to something in their life that they have ignored or had not paid sufficient attention to, usually around the area of life represented by the house impacted by the eclipse.

Solar Eclipses tend to relate to sudden events that disrupt our day-to-day functioning. They are crises that seem to come out of nowhere and suddenly demand all of our conscious attention. They tend to stir things up on a physical and conscious level much more than Lunar Eclipses.

A Solar Eclipse is a powerful new moon, so make plans for the future. Set your intentions during this eclipse around Libra themes: harmony in relationships, art, design, mediation, peacemaking, and gracefulness. The six months following this eclipse are ideal for making a fresh start in all of these Libra areas.

Total Solar Eclipses are spotlights that reveal matters that may have been hidden but also reveal positive trends or traits in people.

 But don’t forget crises can bring an opportunity.

 

How will these eclipses affect you?

Eclipses are contrary to the status quo. If impacted by one of these eclipses, your life will not run on the same track it has been on.  But that can be a good thing. Some view eclipses as release and renewal points.  If your birthday falls on or is close to the date of an eclipse, your life will change dramatically in the months and years ahead.  But remember, sometimes eclipses get triggered after they occur, so events can occur after the eclipse, especially within six months.

An eclipse emphasizes matters related to the house it falls in on your natal chart and what planets it conjuncts or opposes.  The areas ruled by the houses or planets will demand more energy and time from you, at least until the next eclipse in March 2025. Eclipses open doors and invite you to come in, illuminating and stimulating areas of your life that need your attention.

Remember that planetary energies are archetypal, and archetypes can be expressed in many different ways. It’s based on your consciousness and your decision to work with these energies.

 

The Lunar Eclipse of September 18 at 25 degrees of Pisces will affect you if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and/or Mars) or the ascendant at 23 to 27 degrees of Pisces or Virgo.  Also, look at your natal chart for the two houses that hold 23 to 27 degrees of Pisces or Virgo. This eclipse will stir up events related to those houses.   Some Pisces/Virgo questions are -- How can you find spiritual fulfillment? Have you become a martyr in your relationships? How can you learn to trust your intuitive insights?  Do you need to develop boundaries between you and others?

The Total Solar Eclipse on Oct 2 at 10 degrees of Libra will affect you if you have personal planets at 8 to12 degrees of Libra.  Also, look at your natal chart for the houses that contain 8 to12 degrees of Libra.  It may mean the end of one set of circumstances and the beginning of another in that area of your life. Some Libra questions are-- Where is there disharmony in your relationships?  Do you give too much of yourself to others? How can you learn to be more decisive?  How can you bring more beauty into your life?

This solar eclipse is a repeat of one that occurred on October 3, 2005. Look back to what happened then. This Eclipse will continue a theme that was playing out at that time.

September 2024 Forecast

 

We need to love the children more than we hate each other….. RFK Jr

 

Last month, I predicted a surprise at the Democratic convention that would disrupt or alter the plans being made. I initially thought this surprise would occur during the convention itself, but instead, it happened outside of it when RFK Jr. announced he was supporting the Republican ticket. Given that his announcement was made during the period of the intense Full Moon on Aug 19 that impacted the birth charts of some of the major players at the Democratic convention, I believe his entering the race at that time will have significant implications for the democratic party.

I evaluate political candidates in two ways to determine if they are genuinely committed to the issues they put forward. First, I examine their birth chart to see if they genuinely care about these issues or if they are telling us what they need to say to get elected. Second, I consider their past achievements related to these issues.  In RFK Jr.’s case, his birth chart reveals a stellium (four planets plus the North Node, symbolizing his destiny) in Capricorn. Capricorn is the sign of duty, responsibility, principles, and standards. The stellium is in the 6th House of Health and Service. He also has an emotional drive to protect children represented by the Moon in Cancer. RFK Jr runs a nonprofit called Children’s Health Defense, which is dedicated to eliminating toxic exposures for children. His past achievements include winning millions of dollars in lawsuits against chemical companies, such as Monsanto, which produces Roundup and glyphosate.

One particularly fascinating aspect of his chart is that his Sun is at 27 degrees of Capricorn, which aligns precisely with Pluto in the U.S. natal chart. There is only one day each year when a person’s Sun can be in conjunction with the U.S. Pluto, and that day happens to be RFK Jr.'s birthday. Pluto is the planet of fate, thus he is destined to play a significant role in the destiny of the U.S.  

This alignment suggests that his Sun sheds light on the shadow side of our country. For instance, we have government regulatory agencies now staffed by the very corporations that they were created to regulate. Our country has been experiencing a Pluto return for the past five years, marking the first time transiting Pluto has conjuncted our natal Pluto since the nation’s founding. Pluto's transit through Capricorn takes 248 years, so it won’t return to this position until 2254. This period is a significant transformational time for the U.S., as Capricorn represents the government, established institutions, financial systems, and the structures that underpin the country and the world. Transiting Pluto’s influence seeks to reveal, destroy, and rebuild these processes. Anyone with their natal Sun at 27 degrees Capricorn, like RFK Jr., is uniquely positioned to play a significant role in this evolution.

Sep 1 – Uranus stations and turns retrograde at 27 Taurus. This is a time to revisit and reflect on changes you have made related to your finances, possessions, and values.   This is important for those born between the 17^th and 21^st of May.

Pluto retrograde goes back into Capricorn until Nov 19, 2024, when he will return to Aquarius for 20 years.  Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008 with two brief entries into Aquarius from March 23 to June 11, 2023, and from Jan 24 to Sep 24. Pluto is the god of what is hidden: riches, wealth, and power. Pluto in Capricorns is a time when Pluto transforms our societal structures, governments, and institutions.  This has happened since 2008, when Pluto entered Capricorn precisely on the precise day of the financial crisis.

Sep 2 – New Moon at 11 Virgo. This new Moon is opposite Saturn.  Saturn structures a new, fresh beginning. You may feel motivated to start a new project, especially around self-improvement, daily routines, health, and service to others.  Saturn will help here, lending you the discipline that you will need to make these changes and to help you build healthy practices that are solid and enduring.

Sep 3 - Mars Square Neptune at 29 degrees of Gemini/Pisces. Be careful when giving information to the wrong person. It could come back to bite you. Put your energy into fighting for some worthy cause.

Sep 4 – Mars enters Cancer and lasts until Nov 3. Your actions may be based on emotions and instinct rather than logic.  You feel you need to protect yourself and your loved ones.  You may not wish to confront people or issues, which can lead to passive-aggressive behavior. There could be inner tension as Mars’ desire for action doesn’t always align with Cancer’s need for security and comfort. This can result in moodiness, frustration, or difficulty expressing anger directly. The challenge is to channel this energy constructively through creative or domestic projects or by focusing on protecting and nurturing those you care about.

Sep 7 – Mercury Square Uranus at 28 degrees of Leo/Taurus.  You may hear some news today that you don’t like. Keep calm and don’t worry about it.  People around you notice that you have a different way of thinking and communicating. Even though you have a brilliant mind, you are a bit eccentric.  Go with it.  Otherwise, life is just too boring for all of us.

Sep 8 – Sun Opposite Saturn at 16 degrees of Virgo/’Pisces. You may need to work hard today. You may look for ways out of it, but there aren’t. Just accept your obligations and duties.  The work you do now may prove of value later.

Sep 9 – Mercury enters Virgo and stays until Sep 26.  When Mercury enters Virgo, it moves into one of the signs it rules, which enhances its natural qualities of communication, analysis, and mental clarity. This transit strongly focuses on detail, precision, efficiency, and practicality in thinking and communication.  Health and wellness may be a theme during this time.  This is an excellent time to get organized.

Sep 12 – Sun Square Jupiter at 20 degrees of Virgo/Gemini. You could run into problems in your home or business. Practice some self-control in your response to these problems.   You may have some lucky breaks and popularity, but that can lead to an inflated ego and other excesses in life.

Sep 15 – Venus Trine Jupiter at 20 degrees of Libra/Gemini.  What’s not to like? Both Venus and Jupiter are benefic planets.  You may receive a gift or favor from someone today. You are at ease in showing love and affection but don’t forget to show these qualities to yourself.

Sep 17 – Full Moon – Lunar Eclipse at 25 Pisces.  This Full Moon is square Jupiter, sextile Uranus, conjunct Neptune, and sextile Pluto.   This is a complicated Lunar Eclipse,  but it is not all bad. The Lunar Eclipse blends the themes of emotional intensity, expansion, optimism, dreams, illusions, and spirituality.  There is just a hint of Saturn to keep you grounded.  Full Moons indicate endings, and Uranus will help you to let go and release something that no longer serves you.  We have a Solar Eclipse on Oct 2 at 10 degrees of Libra.  I will write about both eclipses in a separate report this month.

Sep 18 – Mercury Opposite Saturn at 15 degrees of Virgo/Pisces. This is a good time to postpone any trips unless it is a trip for business.  Be careful what you say or put into writing.  You feel a little mean and sarcastic now.

Sep 19 – Sun Trine Uranus at 27 degrees of Virgo/Taurus.  This is a good day for fun and entertainment.  You could have unexpected guests today, and you will welcome them.  It will be easy today for you to express your uniqueness in a flowing and harmonious way that does not upset others.

Sep 20 – Sun Opposite Neptune at 28 degrees of Virgo/Pisces. Avoid impractical financial decisions today. Postpone commitments of any kind, especially in romance. Go to the movies.

Sep 21 – Mercury square Jupiter at 20 degrees of Virgo/Gemini.  Be careful not to overspend and waste your energy on unreliable people.  You could suffer from indecision and procrastination.

Sep 22 – Sun enters Libra/Fall Equinox until Oct 22.  This is a time of balance, as day and night are of equal length, and the Sun's entry into Libra highlights themes of harmony, relationships, and fairness. This is a necessary time to strengthen your bonds with the key people in your life.  Because Venus rules Libra, this sign is associated with beauty, art, and aesthetics.  You could have a heightened appreciation for the arts and all things beautiful.  This is an excellent time for all creative endeavors. Libra is the most sociable sign, so get out and circulate it this month.

        Venus enters Scorpio and stays until Oct 17. The planet of love, beauty, and relationships is profoundly diving into the underworld of passion.  This can bring emotional intensity, and hidden aspects of your relationships may be revealed.  Superficial relationships will not satisfy you now because you desire meaningful, passionate, and life-changing relationships.  There could be a strong focus on attraction, desire, control, jealousy, or possessiveness.  However, Pluto also offers healing around these issues once you dive deep into them with awareness and care.

          Sun Trine Pluto at 29 degrees of Virgo/Capricorn. You may receive some good advice today. You could collaborate with someone who is powerful and has deep knowledge about subjects you are curious about.

          Venus squares Pluto at 29 degrees of Libra/Capricorn. This could put you in an embarrassing situation with loved ones, and trouble could come because you are too harsh in your judgment.

Sep 24 – Mercury Trine Uranus at 27 degrees of Virgo/Taurus. You feel vivacious and are excited about the future.  You may want to travel, write, and start a new creative project today.

Sep 25 – Mercury Opposite Neptune at 28 Virgo/Pisces.  You may find some information that was hidden.  Some of the information is a scandal that will surprise you.

Sep 26 – Mercury enters Libra and stays until Oct 14.  The planet of communication and thought enters Libra's harmonious, diplomatic, and relationship-oriented energy. This transit encourages balanced, fair-minded communication and emphasizes social interactions, partnerships, and the pursuit of harmony. Libra is connected to beauty and aesthetics and can influence how you express yourself creatively during this time. Smooth over any misunderstandings and engage with others to foster peace and understanding.

          Mercury Trine Pluto at 29 degrees of Virgo/Capricorn.  Someone you admire can help you today, especially when it comes to joining an organization.  You may decide you want just true friends who appreciate your depth of thinking.  This is an excellent day to do some research.

Sep 30 – Mars Trine Saturn at 14 degrees of Caner/Pisces. This is an excellent time to work with the younger and older generations and bring them together.  You are optimistic about money.  You could do a first-class job on any assignment that you receive.

          Sun Conjunct Mercury at 7 degrees of Virgo. This could come out as desiring a trip or focusing your mind on doing detailed work.  It’s a good day to work to fulfill your ambitions. Business matters are favorable.

 

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS FOR AUGUST 2024:

JUPITER will move from 19 to 21 degrees of Gemini.  Jupiter is the big, fat, happy guy who is expansive in everything. In Gemini, he wants to speak, learn, teach, and write. Look to the house in your birth chart that contains Gemini.  For the next year, Jupiter will bring good luck and opportunities in the areas ruled by your natal Gemini house.

SATURN is in Pisces until May 26, 2025.  Saturn is retrograde all month and will move from 16 to 14 degrees of Pisces.  Saturn rules your material world and especially your career.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets anywhere from 12 to 18 degrees of Pisces or Virgo, you may be in store for some hard lessons about the issues in the house containing Pisces and or Virgo.  Pisces is a creative dreamer. While in Pisces, Saturn, he will try solidifying your dreams and fantasies. On the world stage, Saturn in Pisces can result in our institutions dissolving and the old systems breaking down.

URANUS is in Taurus until April 2026.  This month it turns retrograde on the 1st and will move from 27 to 25 degrees of Taurus. This is the time to break loose and radically change your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable.’  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets (23 to 29 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio), go on an extended vacation, preferably to somewhere you have never been.  Or make some significant changes in your life. Taurus represents the earth. Expect news about farming, food, earthquakes, volcanos, tornadoes, or other significant weather changes while Uranus is in Taurus. 

NEPTUNE is in Pisces until 2026.  Neptune is retrograde all month and will move from 29 to 28 degrees of Pisces.  If you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 27 degrees of Pisces or Virgo to 2 degrees of Aries, you may lack focus during this time and want to daydream. Beware of a betrayal, a disappointment, and a sense of drifting. Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, and creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for inspired films to come out when Neptune is in Pisces.

PLUTO has backed up into Capricorn on Sep 1^st  this month.  He is moving retrograde and will stay at 29 degrees of Capricorn for a month.  Pluto grinds away at your psyche, bringing up all sorts of complex psychological issues. You should run to your nearest therapist, especially if you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 27 degrees of Capricorn to 2 degrees of Aquarius.  Pluto asks what needs to die to be reborn.

The Birth Chart of Kamala Harris

THE BIG THREE

I’m often asked by students of astrology where to start when interpreting a birth chart. It is all so confusing. I tell them to look at the Sun Sign, The Moon Sign, and the Ascendant sign. These big three give you 85 percent of the total personality. 

Kamala has the Sun in Libra, the Moon in Aries, and a Gemini Ascendant.  Using a few keywords in astrology, we could say she is a cop and a judge with a clever mind.  She was born on a Full Moon-- the same as Trump. Full Moon people shine it is like they have mirrors pasted all over them. That makes it easy for us to project onto them.  We love or hate them as we are not neutral about Full Moon people.  It also means that the Sun-- what the person wants out of life--opposes the Moon, which is what the person needs to feel safe.  It’s a saying in astrology: Live the Sun and satisfy the Moon. 

For example, I remember my first astrology teacher in Boston.  I was a young, silly, spacey Gemini Sun, and I told her about all of the Gemini stuff I planned to do: write, travel, lecture, learn everything, read every book I could get my hands on, and study different subjects. She looked at my Taurus Moon and said, you will not do anything until you have money in the bank.  I left her office thinking what a crass, materialistic person she was. I didn’t care about money. Well, I ended up spending 30 years in a business career before I could retire with a pension and money in the bank, I finally let Hermes lead me to do all the Gemini stuff.   Don’t underestimate your pushy moon to satisfy itself.  I know a lot of clients who look back and wonder why they spent 20 or 30 years in a problematic marriage, a stressful vocation, or denied their own needs for their children.  I’ll tell you why: look at your moon sign.

Kamala has her Moon in Aries.  Aries is the sign of the warrior.  She thrives on conflict and battles. She has an emotional need to lead and take the initiative.  She wants to put herself first.  She sees her task in life to be about attack, struggle, and assertion.  Her guiding principle is ‘I want’. Typical occupations involve the military, police, or sports. One of the archetypes for Aries is Athena. She was born from her father’s head, fully armed with a helmet and a sword, ready to battle.  Think Wonder Woman. The warrior spirit needs to be satisfied, but it is opposed to what needs to be lived in Libra.  Aries wants war, and Libra wants peace.  Libra wants to be married, and Aries wants to be independent. It is not easy for a Full Moon person to Live the Sun and Satisfy the Moon because the Sun and Moon signs are opposite energies. Aries and Libra are Cardinal signs-- tough, opinionated, and vital. 

Kamala’s Sun is in Libra. Her task in life is to bring beauty and harmony into the world.  Her guiding principle is balance. Libra is personified by the figure of Aphrodite, who was born from a conflict between Saturn (stability, fixed, stubborn) and (Uranus, instability, changeable.). She was created to heal that split.  Typical Libra occupations are fashion, the arts, representatives, judges, diplomats, mediators, and the entire legal field.

Libra is about fairness.  My Libra clients are always complaining about life not being fair. I answer by saying, Who told you that life is fair?  But I can never shake their innate belief in justice.  And let’s not forget about Aphrodite as an archetype of Libra.  She is very sexy and beautiful and started the Troy war. Kamala’s Ascendant is in Gemini.  Gemini gets along with both Aries and Libra. She will be whatever they want her to be and play any role.  She can communicate with various people and operate on any level of society. She’s a thinker and a trickster. The butterfly represents Gemini as she is lively, carefree, and curious.  Typical occupations are journalist, teacher, author, and publisher.   Read more about Gemini in the myth of Hermes here.  

Libra and Gemini are compatible air signs--they can work together to form alliances and treaties.  Aries is the outsider here.  He is a gutter fighter and will have his dukes up, ready to punch your lights out.  But Aries can fight for the peacemaking deals that Gemini and Libra devise.

Usually, the planet Mercury in the natal chart is in the same sign as the Sun Sign because they are close together in the sky.  But with Kamala, the Mercury, her mind, and how she processes information, thinks, and speaks, it is in Scorpio.  Scorpio represents the depths, the taboo subjects in the world, the nasty stuff.  Libra hates dealing with this, but Kamala is fated to deal with criminals, cabals, and the destructive elements of the human psyche. Mercury in Scorpio loves to dig up dirt on someone or something.

Before I go any further, I want to put in my usual disclaimer. I don’t believe we can interpret or should interpret a chart without the person in front of us.  To quote Robert Hand, an astrologer,  “We don’t know how much consciousness has been pumped into the chart.”  But as usual, I am not following his or my advice.

Aspects in Kamala’s birth chart. 

I will use key phrases for the aspects that are general and not necessarily how Kamala will express them.

James Hillman said our psyche is like a boarding house full of different characters. These characters are archetypes represented by the gods represented by the planets. We can find out who these characters are by looking at our natal aspects.  If you don’t honor all the gods in your chart or make the unconscious conscious, the gods will take revenge and manifest negatively.  For instance, if Aries is not honored by being assertive, working out in the gym with a punching bag, or taking the initiative, he will go to war.  With Libra, if she doesn’t focus on her ability to bring harmony to others and use her elegant style to express her thoughts, she could become indecisive, fickle, and superficial. She spreads herself too thin, trying to please everyone.  With Gemini, if not honored by being a writer or a speaker, will talk too much and say the wrong thing to the wrong person at the wrong time.

NATAL ASPECTS

Jupiter Square Mars.  Jupiter is a jolly, fat, happy guy-- think Santa Claus. He brings gifts and blessings.  Mars is the warrior, and with Jupiter expanding his energy, he can become hotheaded.  Kamala’s Mars is in Leo, which is a good placement for leadership.  It designates queenly power, and Jupiter is the King. Together, they represent a head of state.  Jupiter square Mars fights for his beliefs and has strong religious or political convictions.  This equates to excessive enthusiasm and courage. Jupiter/Mars wants to assert himself, grow, explore, and inspire others.  He can get carried away and over-promote his ideas, putting him into hot water.  They can overextend themselves.  Jupiter/Mars can work on large global projects.

Saturn Opposite Mars.  Saturn is a dour, melancholy guy, full of regrets and remorse. He squashes down Mars because he wants Mars to keep still and be quiet. Saturn/Mars can get into situations where strength, endurance, and stamina will be tested.  This signifies the ability to use assertion with control. The impulses are disciplined.  There could be fights to gain authority. Also, because Saturn represses Mars, there could be great rage, and depression can come from unexpressed anger. This aspect could be seen as a fear of not winning.  Someone with this aspect is very ambitious and can keep going after others have given up.

Uranus Conjunct Venus

Uranus is a loose cannon.  He is eccentric and a nonconformist. He stands aloof and won’t bend or cooperate.  But he is brilliant and innovative, always looking for the new thing.  With Venus, there is a tremendous need for space and freedom in relationships.  There is a fear that marriage is too binding.  There could be battles around personal space.  With Uranus prominent in the chart, being different and honest is more important than being well-liked. But Libra in Kamala’s chart shows the need to be well-liked.  Each natal aspect needs to be integrated with the rest of the chart.  Uranus types can be self-centered and willful. They could rebel by choosing unconventional partners and may fall in and out of love quickly.

Neptune Square Mars

In this aspect, Mars is fighting for the underdog, and there is an urge to act on dreams. Mars can embody the dreams and fantasies of others. The strengths in this aspect are sensitivity, compassion, and imagination. The sense of direction can be confused, and Mars could feel incapable of self-defense. Neptune can be a victim of unexpressed anger. They can be susceptible to drinking or drugs. They are seductive and easily seduced.

Pluto conjunct Venus

A Pluto Venus person could be emotionally insatiable and require much attention. They find it hard to let go of a relationship. There could be an Inner compulsion to conquer others' affection. There can be intense feelings of jealousy and possessiveness. Relationships can be tortuous, messy, and painful sometimes from unrequited love and they can suffer from sexual scandals. They can be attracted to money and power.   But the positive side of this aspect is that they can also be charming and know how to please.  They are excellent diplomats.

Notice that Kamala has three aspects to her Mars, and Mars rules Aries, her Moon sign). Mars is a major player in her chart.  Mars rules the will and the desire to conquer. It’s about stamina, perseverance, energy, straightforwardness, determination, and readiness for conflict.  It’s the masculine principle--the leader, the ego, and aggression.

Kamala also has two aspects to Venus, the feminine principle. Her significant natal aspects include Mars and Venus—war versus peace. Mars and Venus are both relationship planets—Eros and Aphrodite. I would see aspects like this in the chart of a marriage counselor, a dating coach, or a fighter for women’s rights.

THE ELECTION

Here is another disclaimer.  I am apolitical and belong to no party.  I look for character and integrity in a leader.  The last politician I liked was Adlai Stevenson (I think I just gave away my age). I didn’t know and didn’t care what party he belonged to.  Also, I don’t believe professional astrologers should have political biases; it affects their ability to read charts impartially. I remember that, back in 2016, a panel of 12 astrologers was tasked to decide who would win the election between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. What were the results? All 12 voted for Hillary. I rest my case. This was an excellent example of confirmation bias. I thought it obvious that Trump would win based on an interpretation of this birth chart. That is why, during election season, I only read political astrologers from Canada, the UK, or other foreign countries because the US astrologers are contaminated by their beliefs. A year ago, I pulled the plug on my TV, the main brainwashing machine, because 99 percent of the mainstream media supports one political party, and they keep repeating the same mantras.  So I have no skin in the game and no dog in this fight.

I haven’t worked on the presidential candidate charts yet because it wasn’t clear to me that either Biden or Trump or both would be in the race -- I don’t work unless I have to. So far, I was correct since Biden has decided not to run. Also, I put off working on the charts because of the unprecedented pivotal events that could happen on August 19-- the day of the opening of the Democratic convention (See my blog for August here.)  That is the day of the Full Moon at 27 degrees of Leo/Aquarius, right on the US moon at 27 degrees of Aquarius. We haven’t had a Full Moon in Leo/Aquarius on the US moon since August 1945. What does that mean? How does that relate to now?  I leave it to the historians.

Also, Election Day has conflicted, unusual, and complex aspects. The election could be delayed, or the results could be contested. Because of the above issues, I have no idea who will win this election.  I think it is way too early to call.

August 2024 Forecast

This first part of this month will start smoothly, but difficulties will arise as we reach mid-month, culminating on August 19 with a Full Moon in Aquarius alongside a challenging Jupiter/Saturn Square.

This day, marked by the Full Moon at 27 degrees of Aquarius, will be a disruptive day full of reversals and surprises.  On that day, the Full Moon at 27 Aquarius opposes retrograde Mercury and Squares Uranus and is conjunct with the Moon in the birth chart of the United States.  Also, Venus will square Jupiter and oppose Saturn, and Jupiter will square Saturn. This is the worst possible day in decades to have the Democratic Convention. The Moon in the U.S. chart indicates the people--that’s us.  We will be baffled, distracted, and angry on that day, and there could be protests.  During the convention, these aspects show that people are not getting along. Some won’t budge in their opinions; some are bombastic and promise more than they will deliver. Mercury will be on the Sun on the 18^th of August, which could lead to a shocking announcement the day before the convention.

These planetary placements are impacting all of the major players during this convention.  Biden’s natal Sun is at 27 degrees of Scorpio in a square to this Full Moon, so things will not go as he expects.  The Full Moon is exactly on Harris’s Saturn at 28 degrees of Aquarius in her house of vocation.  It could show the completion of some part of her career.   She was born on a full moon in Aries, and this full moon will make a harmonious aspect of her chart, which could be a positive aspect for her.  At the same time, Venus at 17 degrees of Virgo is building toward a square to the Jupiter and Mars conjunction in Gemini and a square to Saturn in Pisces. Harris has her natal Venus at 17 Virgo. Venus rules her popularity. She may lose some backers.  This Full Moon is opposite Trump's Mars on his ascendant.  He may get attacked, but I hope the attack is only verbal.  The Full Moon is activating Obama’s birth chart on his nodes of destiny; I think he may play a significant role behind the scenes. I haven’t published any birth charts for the candidates yet; I’m unsure who is in or out.

The Saturn/Jupiter Square at 17 degrees of Pisces/Gemini is on the same day as the start of the convention.   These are irreconcilable opposites, Jupiter has an urge for freedom and Saturn desires security.  Jupiter and Saturn represent our political, social, and cultural environment.  This square will revolutionize these areas of our lives.  This aspect is occurring three times.  The 2^nd time is on December 24, 2024, at 14 degrees of Gemini and Pisces.  The third time will be June 15, 2025, at 1 degree of Cancer/Aries.  Our world may not look the same when this aspect is completed.

Aug 5—Mercury turns retrograde at 4 degrees of Virgo. To navigate this period effectively, it’s helpful to be flexible, allow extra time for travel and projects, double-check your work, and become more mindful of how you communicate your critiques or concerns. You may want to revisit some decisions or agreements you made in recent months. This is a good time to analyze your world objectively.

Aug 7—Mercury conjuncts Venus at 3 degrees of Virgo. You bring more artistry to your writing and speech. Others like what you express. You could receive an important message from someone of the opposite sex to whom you are attached—a strongly social aspect.

Aug 14—Mercury backs up into Leo at 0 degrees. Mercury is associated with communication, intellect, and adaptability. As the fastest-moving planet in our solar system, it promotes quick thinking, analytical abilities, and a desire for knowledge. In Leo, you want to shine because of your talents and intelligence.

          Mars conjuncts Jupiter at 16 Gemini. You feel optimistic and more willing to take a chance. But be careful and look before you leap. You could make hasty decisions that you may regret later.

Aug 16—Mars Squares Saturn at 17 degrees of Gemini/Pisces. Someone you feel you should support may place some burdens and obligations upon you, which may interfere with your freedom for some time.

Aug 18—Mercury Squares Uranus at 27 degrees of Leo/Taurus. Leo and Taurus are stubborn signs, and the square represents the unmovable. Keep calm. Do not get into a knockdown or drag-out verbal fight with anyone today. So what if your in-laws are voting for Trump? Let it go. 

          The Sun is Conjunct Mercury at 26 degrees of Leo. You feel very sharp today, and I’m afraid you won’t be able to keep your trap shut. With Leo, you want to show you know more about everything than everyone else.

Aug 19—Full Moon at 27 Aquarius opposite Mercury, Square Uranus. Navigating this period would involve staying flexible and open to change, being cautious with communication, and preparing for the unexpected. It’s a powerful time for breakthroughs if one can manage the inherent instability and use the dynamic energy constructively.

          Venus Square Jupiter at 17 degrees of Virgo/Gemini.  Personal matters become upsetting.  Wait a while before making a decision.  Don’t act in haste.

          Venus is opposite Saturn at 17 degrees of Virgo/Pisces. You are looking for love, but you’ve got some nagging, depressed people around you.

          Sun Squares Uranus at 27 degrees of Leo/Taurus, which creates a tendency to make mistakes—check your work. You tend to be uncompromising today and get back up if anyone tries to tell you what to do.

          Jupiter Squares Saturn at 17 degrees of Gemini/Pisces, which can create an economic earthquake. Be cautious. This is not a good time to lend or borrow money. Even though this aspect will affect all of us, it will have a major impact on people born between the 6^th and 10^th of March or June.

Aug 22—Venus Squares Mars at 21 degrees of Virgo. The planet of love and sex is square in the sign of the virgin. What could go wrong? Well, Everything. Put your energy into making money. Forget about finding the perfect sole mate because it won’t happen under this aspect.

Aug 27 – Venus Trine Uranus at 27 degrees of Virgo/Taurus.  Visit an art gallery and travel to a place to see beautiful scenery.  Find an outdoor concert.  This is a good time to create a positive friendship.

Aug 28 – Mercury Direct at 21 degrees of Leo.  Give Mercury a few weeks to catch up from its nap.  Then you can start moving ahead with creative projects.  Leo likes the theater, jewelry, and fashion.

          Venus Opposite Neptune at 29 degrees of Virgo/Pisces. You bend over backward to be loved and accepted.  Stop it! You are under a cloud of delusions right now, especially about relationships. Make no commitments for a few weeks.  You are too starry-eyed.

Aug 29 – Venus enters Libra until Sep 22.  This is a great place for Venus, she rules Libra and that doubles your appreciation for beauty, harmony and peace.  Libra is a lover, not a fighter, and she doesn't want to work too hard, so take it easy on this aspect.  Try sipping wine and dining in a fine restaurant.

July 2024 Forecast

Saturn turned retrograde on June 29 at 19 Pisces and will remain until mid-November 2025.  When a planet is moving retrograde, its impact is more intense.   So, during this period, you will be forced to deal with Saturn's themes of obstacles, delays, and resistance.  Saturn loves structure.

Neptune turns retrograde at 29 Pisces on July 2.  At this point, Saturn and Neptune are only 6 degrees apart, close enough to be called a conjunction.  How do these two planets work together?  Well, they don’t.

Saturn loves structure, Neptune is anti-structure, and Saturn loves discipline; Neptune loves chaos.  When I look at transits like this in a person’s birth chart, I can tell how this transit will affect the client by looking at how Saturn and Neptune are positioned in their birth chart.  In other words, if you have a strong Saturn based on sign and house and it has positive aspects, you can channel Neptune's imagination and dreams into your work and/or a particular project.  If you have a strong Neptune, you could tune into your higher mind, start a meditation practice, go on a spiritual retreat, or just put your feet up and binge on streaming channels.

For all of us, Saturn with Neptune can help us see through the lies and manipulations swirling around us at this time, either in our personal lives or on the world stage.

July 10 – Sun Trine Saturn at 19 degrees of Cancer/Pisces.  This is a good day to deal with elders.  Get involved with projects that will increase in value.  You can achieve a lot now in your career.

July 11 – Venus enters Leo and lasts until August 4. This is a generous, loving placement for Venus.  You are proud of your accomplishments and of the people that you love.  You feel like a queen and want to be adored and pampered.  Be careful of extravagance.

          Venus Trine Neptune at 29 degrees of Cancer/Pisces.  This is an excellent day to decorate your home or rearrange furniture.  It also favors long-distance travel and inspirational thinking.

July 12 – Venus Opposite Pluto at 1 degree of Leo/Aquarius. An intense relationship can arise.  Be careful not to rush into it.  It could bring trouble in the future.

July 15 – Mars Conjunct Uranus at 26 degrees of Taurus. Be careful of this aspect.  The energy will start about a week before this date and a week after.  Don’t go into any dangerous situations, and be careful driving.  Mistakes at this time could be costly. Your fighting spirit is aroused, and you want to take action immediately. There could be unexpected events that could cause upset, especially in the area of the environment or the economy.

July 20 – Mars enters Gemini and lasts until September 4.  This can bring a surge of energy around Gemini topics such as writing, teaching, and all sorts of communications.   But try not to get overwhelmed by all of the ideas pouring in.  Stay focused.

July 21 – Full Moon at 29 Virgo.  Neptune and Mars are in harmony with this Full Moon. Now is an excellent time to seek reconciliation with others.   This can dissolve negative emotional entanglements.

          Mercury Square Uranus at 26 degrees of Leo/Taurus.  You don’t like the news you hear from the media or your friends. Don’t worry about this. Try to keep calm.

          Sun Trine Neptune at 29 degrees of Cancer/Pisces. Neptune rules idealism.  This is good for love and romance, but don’t rely on a ‘happy ever after’ ending.  It may not turn out that way.

          Mars Trine Pluto at 1 degree of Gemini/Aquarius.  Things are finally working out for you.  Opportunities are coming up. Rid yourself of non-essentials from your life.

July 22 – Sun enters Leo and lasts until August 22.  This period can increase vitality and self-confidence.

July 23 – Sun Opposite Pluto at 1 degree of Leo/Aquarius. Someone may ask you to join them in a new venture.  It could be a member of the opposite sex.  Avoid being misled into unwise action.

July 25 – Mercury enters Virgo and does his back-and-forth dance again.  He will turn retrograde on August 5 at 4 degrees of Virgo, then turn direct at 21 Virgo on August 28.  Mercury in Virgo wants the facts.  This is a good time to have truthful conversations.

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS FOR JULY 2024:

JUPITER will move from 8 to 14 degrees of Gemini.  Jupiter is the big, fat, happy guy who is expansive in everything. In Gemini, he wants to speak, learn, teach, and write. Look to the house in your birth chart that contains Gemini.  For the next year, Jupiter will bring good luck and opportunities in the areas ruled by your natal Gemini house.

SATURN is in Pisces until May 26, 2025.  Saturn turned retrograde on June 29 and will move from 19 to 18 degrees of Pisces this month.   Saturn rules your material world and especially your career.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets anywhere from 16 to 22 degrees of Pisces or Virgo, you may be in store for some hard lessons about the issues in the house containing Pisces and or Virgo.  Pisces is a creative dreamer. While in Pisces, Saturn, he will try solidifying your dreams and fantasies. On the world stage, Saturn in Pisces can result in our institutions dissolving and the old systems breaking down.

URANUS is in Taurus until April 2026.  This month, he stays at 25 degrees of Taurus. This is the time to break loose and radically change your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable.’  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets (23 to 27 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio), go on an extended vacation, preferably to somewhere you have never been before.  Or make some significant changes in your life. Taurus represents the earth. Expect news about farming, food, earthquakes, volcanos, tornadoes, or other major weather changes while Uranus is in Taurus. 

NEPTUNE is in Pisces until 2026.  Neptune turns retrograde on July 2, 2024. He will stay at 29 degrees all month.  If you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 27 degrees of Pisces or Virgo to 2 degrees of Aries, you may lack focus during this time and want to daydream. Beware of a betrayal, a disappointment, and a sense of drifting. Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, and creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for inspired films to come out when Neptune is in Pisces.

PLUTO is in Capricorn until Nov 2024.  This month, Pluto is moving retrograde from 1 degree of Aquarius to 0 degrees of Aquarius. Pluto grinds away at your psyche, bringing up all sorts of complex psychological issues. You should run to your nearest therapist, especially if you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 29 degrees of Capricorn to 4 degrees of Aquarius.  Pluto asks what needs to die to be reborn.

June 2024 Forecast

The first half of the month is dominated by Jupiter in Gemini trine Pluto in Aquarius.  When we see an important aspect like this, we look to when this same aspect last occurred, so we can get a hint of how it may manifest now.  The last time we had this aspect in the same signs was in 1787.  That was the year of the first draft of our constitution.  It set up the governmental system we use today, with three branches of Government: legislative, judiciary and executive.   It established the standard of having each state represented by two senators and other states having the number of representatives based on population. The constitution was not ratified until two years later.  Is something brewing now that will affect our system of government in the next two years?  I’ve been watching the news like a hawk to discern what seeds are being  planted during the two weeks leading up the trine and the two weeks after.  So far, what stands out is the trial and conviction of former President Trump.

Another great month!  During the first half of the month, planets are piling up in Gemini.  Look to your Gemini house to see the area of your life that will move so fast you won’t be able to catch your breath.  Last month, the stellium (3 or more planets in one sign) was in Taurus, a passive month.  This month the stellium is in Gemini which will feed intellectual curiosity and is more lighthearted.  This can be a busy, frenetic, mind-expanding period.

From June 9 to the 13th, you may encounter some obstacles Don’t leap over them;  just investigate and figure out what is causing the problem. What can you learn by being stopped in your tracks?

Saturn is turning retrograde on the 29^th.  This month he is barely moving.  This is a time to solidify your beliefs and get centered because during the next two years, Saturn and Neptune will move into Aries, Uranus will go into Gemini, Jupiter just moved into Gemini and Pluto just moved into Aquarius.  All of the outer planets--Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter-- are moving from earth and water, which is soulful, feminine energy into masculine air and fire signs which is creative, explosive energy.  We haven’t seen this kind of shift of the slow-moving planets in our lifetime

June 3 – Mercury enters Gemini and stays until June 17.  Mercury rules Gemini and is very happy, carefree, lively, curious and dazzling here.  Mercury here can be a flimflam man.  Don’t believe everything you hear, and don’t believe what you think.  It can be tricky. The best way to deal with this urge to communicate is to write or podcast. 

June 4 – Mercury Trine Pluto at 1 degree of Gemini/Aquarius.  You may feel an urge to investigate the darker secrets of our society.  You may wish to convince the world of your own opinions and perceptions.

          Mercury conjunct Jupiter at 1 degree of Gemini. This expands the ‘need to know’ aspect.   You want to bring meaning and purpose into your life.

          Sun Conjunct Venus at 16 degrees of Gemini.  This can help you be charming and diplomatic.  You will strive for beauty and harmony.

June 6 – New Moon at 16 Gemini. This New Moon is conjunct Venus and square Saturn.  You want to shine, start new projects and circulate among friends, but Saturn stands in your way. This New Moon is in effect for two weeks.  During this time, express yourself, but edit what you say and write.

June 8 – Venus Square Saturn at 19 degrees of Gemini/Pisces.  It’s time to commit to who or what you love. This brings out your loyalty.  If you are looking for a partner, try someone older.

June 9 – Mars enters Taurus and lasts until July 20. During this period, your anger may build up slowly and then explode.  You could be a time bomb.  Try not to keep your emotions inside. Work out, go hiking or blow off steam in a useful way.

Sun Square Saturn at 19 Gemini/Pisces. Be patient, the wind is not at your back; in fact it’s blowing you sideways.

June 11 – Mars Squares Pluto at 1 degree of Taurus/Aquarius.  This is not a very good aspect.  Mars is aggressive, and Pluto takes no prisoners.  The last time we had this was when Israel was attacked in Oct 2023.  Try not to get into a conflict with anyone because it won’t be quickly resolved.  Pluto digs in his heels and hangs on for a long time.

June 12 – Mercury Squares Saturn at 19 Gemini/Pisces.  You could feel tired and discouraged today. Avoid signing contracts. You could be critical, sarcastic, or pessimistic.  So keep your mouth shut and keep your opinions to yourself.  You won’t win any popularity contests today.

June 14 – Sun Conjunct  Mercury at 23 Gemini.  Mercury is being energized by the Sun today.  Since Mercury is the merchant, contact people to buy, sell, or trade.

June 16 – Venus Square Neptune at 29 Gemini/Pisces. I’ve had more clients fall madly in love when they experience this transit to their natal chart.  It usually doesn’t turn out very well.  There ends up being deception, delusion, and, finally escape.

June 17 – Venus enters Cancer and stays until July 11.  Aphrodite, the goddess of love is settling down into a family life.  Wait! That doesn’t sound like her.  She is more promiscuous than that. What to do?  Bring out her artistic side and spruce up your home with fresh paint and colorful decorations.

          Mercury enters Cancer and stays until July 2. During this period your thinking is more imaginative.  You can express your feelings in flowery, rich images.  This placement honors the storyteller and poet.  Your memory is enhanced.  Why don’t you start on the memoirs you have planned to write for the last 20 years?

          Mercury Square Neptune at 29 degrees of Gemini/Pisces. People you meet today could be space cadets.  They want to seriously discuss what it’s like where they come from—the Pleiades.

          Mercury Conjunct Venus at 29 degrees of Gemini.  You could get company today.  Your friends are stopping in and want to talk about their love life.  I know it’s boring, but they’re your friends and you picked them.

June 20 – The Sun enters Cancer and stays until July 22.  The energy is starting to change.  We are leaving the air sign of Gemini, the chatterbox, to the more soulful quiet sign of Cancer.  Gemini wanted to flit around, travel and gossip.  Cancer wants to stay home and eat popcorn while watching her favorite streaming channel.

          Sun Squares Neptune at 29 Gemini/Pisces. You could feel dreamy, indecisive and impractical today. Don’t fall for promises that seem too good to be true.

June 21 – Full Moon at 1 Capricorn is Square Neptune.  This full moon may help you see through the illusions and deceptions coming from our conventional media.

June 26 – Mercury Trine Saturn at 19 Cancer/Pisces. You can make productive decisions now.  Try to accomplish all that needs to be done. This is a good time for quiet study and writing.  Be discreet in your relationships.  You may find some helpful information.

June 29 – Saturn turns retrograde at 19 Pisces and stays retrograde until mid-November 2025.  When a planet is moving retrograde, it becomes more intense.   So during this period, you will be forced to deal with Saturn themes of authority, and resistance.  Saturn loves structure, but he is in Pisces, which has no structure.  Your task is to manifest and bring into form your dreams, creative projects, and artistic imagination.

May 2024 Forecast

May is a good month, especially compared to last month. The outer planets do not have challenging aspects, and Mars and Venus are in their home signs. Mars in Aries means we can positively direct our energy with few hindrances, and Venus in Taurus means we are loyal and grounded in our relationships.

Planets are moving from Taurus, an Earth sign, to Gemini, an air sign.  Taurus is a fixed sign and is all about stability and safety. Gemini is flexible and adaptable and is concerned with information, learning, teaching, and talking; oh, how they can talk! Taurus is quieter and more thoughtful.  She wants to stay home, and Gemini wants to travel. Taurus wants to luxuriate in a bubble bath. Gemini has no time for a bath--a quick shower, and she’s off looking for someone to talk to.   We will all experience the Taurus energy, especially on May 7, when we will have the Moon, Sun, Jupiter, Venus, and Uranus in Taurus.  Look for the house in your birth chart that contains Taurus, as you will have opportunities and surprises in the areas ruled by that house.  See the Meaning of the Houses here.

The energy from the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction on April 20 is still with us because the Sun and Venus are activating them this month. May 12 – Mother’s Day, and the Moon is in Cancer, the sign of the mother.  It is a very motherly Mother’s Day.  Celebrate with good food and family.

Mars triggers the April 8 Total Solar Eclipse at 19 Aries. Mars can bring about action regarding the meaning of the Total Solar Eclipse. This will be noticeable if the eclipse impacts one of your planets.

May 13 – Sun Conjunct Uranus at 23 Taurus. This aspect could bring sudden changes in your values or finances. Significant fluctuations could occur in areas where you usually prefer stability. It’s time to embrace the new and unconventional.

May 15—Mercury enters Taurus until June 3. Mercury influences the way we think, communicate, and process information. This is a good time for planning and discussing long-term investments and taking a steady and practical approach to learning and communication. This period favors persistence in mental tasks.

May 17 – Mercury in Taurus Squares Pluto in Aquarius at 2 degrees. PLUTO is in Capricorn until Nov 2024.  This month, Pluto turns retrograde on 2 May and moves from 2 to 1 degree of Aquarius.  Pluto grinds away at our psyche, bringing up all sorts of complex psychological issues. You should run to your nearest therapist, especially if you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 28 degrees of Capricorn to 4 degrees of Aquarius.  Pluto asks what needs to die to be reborn.

Jupiter Conjunct Uranus on April 20 at 21 Taurus

The energy from this conjunction started in mid-March and will last until mid-May.

This conjunction is the most significant aspect of the year. I call these two “get outa town planets’.  Jupiter and Uranus share a common desire for freedom and exploration. Jupiter wants to roam all over the globe to experience everything, and Uranus wants to break free and doesn’t like to stay in one place too long. Neither of them wants to be hemmed in. Jupiter rules long-distance travel, and Uranus rules space travel. Jupiter is an adventurer; Uranus is a maverick and loves breaking the rules.  As you can see, these two have a lot in common.  They both want to break from traditional confines and pursue uniqueness and individuality.

Jupiter expands every planet it touches.  So, in this aspect, he will amplify Uranus’ need to be different and to rebel.  Jupiter will add confidence to Uranus and help him express his uniqueness. Jupiter rules religion and our belief systems, and where we find meaning, Uranus can shatter those. This is shocking and unstable energy, but it can bring fresh, innovative ideas.

You will feel this impact and go on a wild ride if you are a Sagittarius or an Aquarius or have any planets at 19 to 23 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio. These are not hostile planets; they are youthful and fun if you can stay loose.  They don’t like boring people or situations. This conjunction can shake you out of what you have outgrown.  It’s time to step into the future and leave the old traditions and routines behind.  Look at the house in your birth chart that contains 21 degrees of Taurus. This conjunction is in Taurus, so expect breakthroughs in money, banking, the stock market, farming, food, agriculture, gardening, land management, and real estate. Interestingly, most of the protests around the world are farmers' protests. Taurus represents the land; Taurus wants simple, organic food. Taurus rules the earth, and Uranus, amplified by Jupiter, shakes things up—look for more and stronger earthquakes.

Look for news about discoveries in space, science, scientific breakthroughs, the metaverse, and AI. This conjunction coincided with the Allies cracking the Enigma code in 1941, the Moon Landing in 1959, and the Icelandic volcano in 2020, which limited Aviation.

This conjunction signals the beginning of a new 13 to 14-year cycle, but it’s most important this year because Uranus rules Aquarius, and Pluto is powering up in Aquarius now. This can be considered the spark that triggers Pluto's energy in Aquarius, which is just now starting to heat up.

Pluto in Aquarius marks a time of socio-economic transformation heralding a period of “power to the people” and the potential for revolutionary changes in governance and societal structures over the next two decades. However, Pluto's influence also warns us of the challenges of centralized control, particularly concerning the media and the internet. Only six corporations own all the major TV stations and newspapers in the U.S., so unplug your TV and throw away your iPhone if you don't want to be manipulated.  Experience the freedom of thought and form your independent ideas and opinions. This can be a wonderful feeling and a perfect time to break free from the “thought police.” The lesson of Pluto in Aquarius is that, eventually, top-down control won’t work because the world is much too complicated. Instead, human beings will have the opportunity to create a sustainable world by working together on a local level.

In conclusion, the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction at 21 Taurus represents a powerful invitation to embrace change, seek innovation, and pursue freedom across various aspects of our personal and collective lives. We should look for individual and community changes in how we relate to the earth and technology.

April 2024 Forecast

Has anyone noticed the eerie similarity between the glyph for Libra, which housed the Lunar Eclipse of March 25, and the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which was eclipsed within 24 hours? Or have I been working with symbols too long?

April is the most dynamic and transformative month in 2024.  And here’s why:

We are still experiencing the lingering effects of the Lunar Eclipse of March 25. A description of this eclipse is here.

On the 21^st, we will experience the most significant aspect of the year, a dynamic conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus.

Dates to Watch:

Note to my Astrology Clients. Use your Planetary Placement and Ascendant sheet to find if you have a personal planet (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars) or the ascendant within 2 degrees of the degree of the transits listed below.  If so, the transit will have a significant impact on you.

Apr 1 – Mercury turns retrograde at 27 Aries and lasts until April 25.  This is very appropriate for April Fool’s Day. Mercury is the trickster, and you never know what games he will play. When he is retrograde he could cause delays, misunderstandings and missed communications around travel and technology.  Because he is in Aries, think before you speak. It’s a time to rethink, revise, and redo, especially in the area of life ruled by the Aries house in your natal chart.

Apr 3 – Venus Conjunct Neptune at 27 degrees of Pisces.  Pisces is a dreamy sign and Neptune in that sign could lead to deeply romantic or spiritual experiences.  However, there is also a risk of disillusionment or escapism in relationships. If you fall in love, please don’t make any commitment.  Wait until after April 5 when Venus enters Aries.  Instead, channel this energy into artistic goals.

Apr 5 – Venus enters Aries and lasts until April 29.  Venus, the planet and love and attraction, is leaving Pisces the planet of dreams and enters the impulsive sign of Aries.  Relationships could become more direct and fiery.  It’s a time for bold expressions of affection.  But don’t scare away a potential partner.  Some people such, as Virgo or Pisces types, do not like to be pushed into a love fest too fast.

Apr 8 – New Moon Total Solar Eclipse at 19 Aries.  This is a powerful time to reinvent yourself, to try something new and to concentrate on your needs and wants.

Apr 10 – Mars Conjunct Saturn at 14 degrees of Pisces. Mars represents drive and Saturn represents discipline, so this could be a excellent day to work, except Pisces can lose the thread of what it was trying to do.  Focus on music, mysticism or Yoga.  Cooperate with the gods.

Apr 11 – Sun Conjunct Mercury at 22 degrees of Aries.  This will give you clarity of thought and your communications will be direct and assertive.  This is an excellent time for decisive actions.

Apr 19 – Mercury Conjunct Venus at 17 Aries.  This favors harmonious communication and creative expression making it a good time to socialize, negotiate and engage in artistic activities.

          Sun enters Taurus until April 19.  Taurus rules stability, peace and appreciation of beauty, nature and sensuality.  It’s a good period to focus on cultivating patience and enjoying the fruits of your labor.

Apr 20 – Jupiter Conjunct Uranus at 21 Taurus.  This is a rare conjunction that can bring unexpected opportunities or changes.  Finance, values and material security can be affected.  Check the house in your birth chart that contains 21 Taurus. This is the area of life that will be expanded and experience sudden breakthroughs.  The energy from this aspect will be felt from late March to mid-May.

Apr 21 – Sun Squares Pluto at 2 degrees of Taurus/Aquarius.  This could create power struggles and it may bring to light issues of control from you or from others to you.  This is a time to confront what needs to change.

Apr 23 – Full Moon at 4 Scorpio. This full moon will illuminate what’s hidden and reveal deeper truths.  It’s time to release what is no longer serving you.  This full moon could also bring emotional outbursts.  But be aware of powerful insights as a gift of Scorpio.

Apr 25 – Mercury turns direct on April 25 at 16 degrees of Aries. Mercury is resuming its forward motion, but wait a few weeks before you sign contracts or make commitments.  You can still change your mind, but it will be easier to move forward now.

Apr 29 – Venus enters Taurus until May 23^rd.  Venus is in his home sign of Taurus.  This describes the love of comfort, sensuality and pleasure.  Relationships and financial matters can experience increased stability and growth.

Apr 30 - Mars enters Aries until June 9. Mars is also in his home sign, boosting energy, courage and initiative.  It’s a good time to start new projects and tackle challenges head-on.  The downside is that you could become too impulsive and run into conflicts.  It all depends on your natal Mars house and sign.  Are you a hothead? This position of Mars won’t help.

 

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS FOR THIS MONTH:

JUPITER will move from 17 to 23 degrees of Taurus.  He will stay in Taurus until May 26, 2024.  Jupiter is the big, fat, happy guy who is expansive in everything. In Taurus, he wants to buy property, build up his bank account, and invest in growth stocks. Look to the house in your birth chart that contains Taurus. This coming year can bring good luck and opportunities in the areas ruled by your natal Taurus house.

SATURN is in Pisces until May 26, 2025. This month, Saturn moves from 18 to 19 degrees of Pisces.  Saturn rules your material world and especially your career.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets anywhere from 16 to 21 degrees of Pisces or Virgo, you may be in store for some hard lessons about the issues in the house containing Pisces and or Virgo.  Pisces is a creative dreamer. While in Pisces, Saturn, he will try solidifying your dreams and fantasies.

URANUS is in Taurus until April 2026.  This month, he moves from 20 to 22 degrees. This is the time to break loose and radically change your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable.’  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets (18 to 24 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio), go on an extended vacation, preferably somewhere you have never been. Or make some significant changes in your life. Taurus represents the earth. Expect news about farming, food, earthquakes, volcanos, tornadoes, or other major weather changes while Uranus is in Taurus. 

NEPTUNE is in Pisces until 2026.  Neptune will move from 27 to 28 degrees of Pisces this month.   If you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 25 degrees of Pisces or Virgo to 0 degrees of Aries, you may lack focus during this time and want to daydream. Beware of a betrayal, a disappointment, and a sense of drifting. Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, and creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights.
