Are you ready to leap into the future? If not, you've still got some time to prepare. This February, think of us as being on a launching pad. This year, the outer planets—often considered the Gods of change in astrology—are gearing up for a major shift. Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus, representing significant transformations, are in the final degrees of their current signs and will move into new ones this spring. This signals a big change in our consciousness, opening up new realities and possibilities.
Neptune has been in Pisces since February 2012, and Saturn joined him in May 2021. Neptune tends to dissolve boundaries, while Saturn is all about creating them. Their presence in Pisces might have made us feel lost or confused, like being "asleep in the poppy fields." We've had dreams but maybe struggled to manifest them. However, this spring, both planets will move into Aries, the sign of the individual. This shift will inspire us to assert ourselves, embrace the future, and break through any obstacles.
Uranus has been in Taurus since March 2019, a placement it doesn't enjoy. Uranus is about progress and change, while Taurus prefers tradition. In August, Uranus will move into Gemini, which might be easier for many of us. This change could free us from old patterns and beliefs, though it might also make others feel overwhelmed by the rapid changes.
Pluto, the planet of deep transformation, entered Aquarius in November 2024. Aquarius is associated with technology, and Pluto's influence here suggests a significant focus on technological power for the next twenty years. This shift was evident at the recent inauguration, where the presence of technocrats was quite notable.
I've been receiving many emails from readers who are feeling depressed, angry, and disappointed about President Trump's inauguration. Looking at Trump’s Birth chart through an archetypal lens, we see that he embodies the Trickster—a role highlighted by his Gemini Sun and its close conjunction of Uranus, and Uranus opposing the Moon. Tricksters, like Bugs Bunny or the Road Runner, disrupt the status quo. Every culture has trickster figures revealed in their mythology—Coyote in Native America, Hermes in Greek, and Loki in Norse—which play crucial roles in shaking up the collective consciousness. The trickster is like the court jester. If the king got too arrogant and full of himself, he would punch holes in the king’s ego and make everyone laugh. Feb 3 – Mercury Trine Jupiter at 11 degrees of Libra/Gemini. This is an aspect of the scholar. Gemini wants to know everything and Mercury rules Gemini doubling the Gemini energy with this aspect. This shows an interest in learning and a talent for languages. If you are a writer, your words will flow today.
Feb 4 – Venus enters Aries. She will turn retrograde on March 1, 2025, back up into Pisces on March 27, and turn direct on April 12 at 24 Pisces. She will reenter Aries on April 30, 2025. Aphrodite gets very passionate in Aries. She becomes the aggressor. This is the sign of the tough girl or the gun moll, Go after the person you love, but try not to scare anyone.
Jupiter turns Direct at 11 Gemini. As Jupiter moves forward, projects or plans that were stalled start to gain momentum. Gemini’s born June 1 through June 17 are in for a treat. Jupiter is bringing abundance, good luck, and blessings to you. Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion, in the communicative sign of Gemini, enhances intellectual curiosity, encourages the exchange of ideas, and facilitates connections. This transit is positive for activities involving writing, speaking, teaching, and learning. You might find that you are more eager to absorb new information and may have increased chances to travel short distances or engage in social interactions that broaden your horizons. It's also a great time to explore new interests and diversify your skills.
Feb 9 – Sun Conjunct Mercury at 20 degrees of Aquarius. You mind is sharp today. This alignment enhances mental clarity and decision-making, encouraging original insights and forward-looking plans. With Aquarius's emphasis on community and social connections, it's also an excellent period for intellectually stimulating interactions and advancing collective goals.
Mars trine Saturn at 18 Cancer/Pisces. This aspect creates a harmonious flow of energy between your emotional drive and discipline, fostering resilience and emotional maturity. This transit is particularly favorable for long-term domestic projects, as it provides the patience and endurance needed to overcome challenges. It's an excellent time for healing emotional wounds through structured therapy or other supportive practices, as well as for building secure foundations in personal and professional realms.
Feb 10 – Mercury Square Uranus at 23 Aquarius/Taurus. This adds to the brilliance of the Sun conjunct Mercury we experienced yesterday. But with this square, you have so many ideas popping into your head that you can become scatterbrained. You are an impatient student. However if you can restrain yourself, you can come up with some exciting innovative ideas.
Feb 11 – Sun Square Uranus at 23 Aquarius/Taurus. You want to break free today. You don’t want to stay in school or on your job. You could break with old habits and with people. Wait a few days before you go run off and do something crazy.
Feb 12 – Full Moon at 24 Leo. This amplifies emotions and creativity, highlighting the need for self-expression, recognition, and attention. You want to showcase one's talents and seek appreciation. It’s a great time for artistic pursuits and social gatherings. Emotionally, it can bring issues related to ego, romance, and children into focus, often magnifying feelings and reactions. This Full Moon is a time to embrace individuality and share your unique light with the world.
Feb 14 – Mercury enters Pisces until March 3. This is a sweet-talking aspect, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Your thinking is romantic, artistic, intuitive, and kinda fuzzy. Your mind could be flooded with all kinds of fantasies. You could be easily influenced by others.
Feb 18 – Sun enters Pisces until March 20. During this period, people may feel more inclined to help others and seek connections that transcend the mundane. Now the focus shifts towards empathy, intuition, and spiritual reflection. It's a time for healing, dreaming, and tapping into one's inner wisdom, but there can also be a tendency towards escapism or confusion if not grounded in reality.
Feb 20 – Mercury Square Jupiter at 11 degrees of Pisces/Gemini. Jupiter can become too arrogant and with Mercury he can become a conceited fool. He gets puffed up and loves to exaggerate. Watch the news for exaggerated claims.
Feb 23 – Mercury Trine Mars at 17 Pisces/Cancer. A nice aspect of asserting yourself, you are clever and have crystal clear arguments. You enjoy having discussions today.
Mars turns direct at 17 Cancer. This signals a shift in how you assert yourself, particularly in the realms of home and emotional life. Mars, the planet of action and drive, often finds its outward expressions muted in the introspective and protective sign of Cancer. As it turns direct, you may feel a resurgence of energy directed towards family matters, home improvement, or addressing personal and emotional issues that were previously stagnant or repressed. There is a strong drive to protect your loved ones. Your emotional expressions might become more assertive. This transit emphasizes the importance of channeling energy into supportive and constructive actions within close relationships and home environments.
Feb 25 – Mercury conjuncts Saturn at 20 degrees of Pisces. I’m one of the few astrologers who like Saturn. He is a bottom-line, no-nonsense planet. With Mercury, he favors realistic, logical thinking. You are consistent today and a good critic. Watch some films and then tear them apart.
OUTER PLANET TRANSITS FOR FEBRUARY 2025
JUPITER is in Gemini until June 9, 2025. He will turn direct on Feb 4, 2025. This month he will move 12 to 12 degrees of Gemini. Jupiter is the big, fat, happy guy who is expansive in everything. He expresses his talent for speaking, learning, teaching, and writing. It also indicates a growth in your beliefs and your goals. Until July 11, Jupiter will bring good luck and opportunities to the house containing Gemini.
SATURN is in Pisces until May 26, 2025. This month Saturn will move from 17 to 20 degrees of Pisces. Saturn rules your material world and especially your career. If you have the ascendant or any personal planets anywhere from 15 to 22 degrees of Pisces or Virgo, you may be in store for some hard lessons about the issues in the house containing Pisces and or Virgo. Pisces is a creative dreamer. While in Pisces, Saturn will solidify your dreams and fantasies. On the world stage, Saturn in Pisces can result in our institutions dissolving and the old systems breaking down.
URANUS is in Taurus until August 2025. Uranus will stay at 23 degrees of Taurus this month. This is the time to break loose and radically change your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable.’ If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets (21 to 25) degrees of Taurus or Scorpio), go on an extended vacation, preferably to somewhere you have never been. Or make some significant changes in your life. Taurus represents the earth. Expect news about farming, food, earthquakes, volcanos, tornadoes, or other major weather changes while Uranus is in Taurus.
NEPTUNE is in Pisces until March 31, 2025. Neptune moves from 27 to 28 degrees of Pisces all month. If you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 25 to 20 degrees of Pisces or Virgo, you may lack focus during this time and want to daydream. Beware of a betrayal, a disappointment, and a sense of drifting. Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, and creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for inspired films to come out when Neptune is in Pisces.
PLUTO is in Aquarius and stays at 2 degrees all month. Pluto grinds away at your psyche, bringing up all sorts of complex psychological issues. You should run to your nearest therapist, especially if you have the ascendant or personal planets anywhere from 0 to 4 degrees of Aquarius. Pluto asks what needs to die to be reborn.
