World-changing, paradigm-shifting Pluto will move into Aquarius next month on November 19th and stay until 2044. Our world and understanding of it will be completely transformed during this period. Pluto’s move into Aquarius symbolizes social change, technological advancement, and a redistribution of power. In this post, I want to explore one obvious example of Pluto in Aquarius: artificial intelligence (AI).
To understand many events we may experience while Pluto is in Aquarius, it’s essential to review the seeds planted during Pluto's time in Capricorn from 2008 to 2024. Let’s also look back to the last time Pluto was in Aquarius, from 1778 to 1798. In 1789, the American Constitution was written. Still, the seeds for this monumental change were planted earlier, with the American Revolution beginning in 1775 and the Declaration of Independence in 1776—both occurring while Pluto was in Capricorn.
The Industrial Revolution began when Pluto shifted into Aquarius in the late 18th century. But it was fueled by two major inventions: the steam engine and the spinning jenny, both created during Pluto's stay in Capricorn. Fast forward to our modern era, and we see a similar pattern. When Pluto first entered Capricorn in 2008, we experienced the banking crisis. Capricorn rules banking, large institutions, and corporations. Historically, the Boston Tea Party occurred with Pluto in Capricorn, sparked by grievances over taxes and unfair levies.
Pluto represents power; in Capricorn, this power is linked to institutions, corporations, banks, and hierarchical structures. Capricorn is associated with the "father" or authority, while Aquarius symbolizes the collective. Pluto in Aquarius is about shifting power to the people. In the USA’s natal chart, the Moon is in Aquarius, representing "the people." This is a promise in our national blueprint, suggesting it’s time to fulfill that promise and create a world shaped by the needs and desires of the collective.
A modern example of Pluto in Aquarius is AI's rise, which started gaining traction when ChatGPT was introduced in November 2022. This development began with Pluto in Capricorn and will blossom fully during Pluto’s journey through Aquarius.
The Rise of AI: A Glimpse into Pluto in Aquarius
I’ve been playing with AI recently. The following are 3 of the most popular versions. One of the latest is Google’s Notebook LM. This program allows you to interact with and analyze almost any file, including PDFs, Word documents, and YouTube audio. It provides summaries, answers questions, and generates insights directly from your notes or research material. One awe-inspiring feature that has everyone talking is its ability to create a podcast featuring a conversation between two AI-generated voices that sound just like real people!
If you’re curious, you can listen to a short audio clip created by Notebook LM from an older article of mine on my blog. It analyzed my article and summarized it uniquely and engagingly.

One of the first AI programs to be launched was ChatGPT. It can perform research, summarize documents, code, and even converse with you. For example, I’m coaching a client who is writing her memoirs. Her ancestors migrated to Baltimore in the late 1800s and were coopers and makers of whiskey barrels. She researched her grandparents’ birthdates from the 1920s, and I created their birth charts. However, there was still a gap in understanding what life was like then. She asked ChatGPT, “Describe a day in the life of a cooper making whiskey barrels in Baltimore, MD, in 1926.” The response was a full-page description of the coopers’ lives, their workdays, and how they made the barrels.
You can also communicate verbally with ChatGPT, just like a friend. Ask it a question, and you’ll receive a vocal response. I often ask ChatGPT about the books I’m reading, and it helps explain difficult passages while giving me more information about the author and the title of other books with similar themes.
Another AI program, Perplexity, acts like a supercharged Google. It organizes material and draws from academic resources. It searches the internet instantly and is excellent for research. I once asked Perplexity to describe my ancestors' life in a small Italian town in 1875. The response was a vivid, precise description of that time and place, almost as if I watched my grandparents go about their daily lives. Perplexity can even create articles or essays with images it finds or generates for you. It can then create a web page for you to share.
Speaking of images, many AI programs can create pictures based on text descriptions. Some can even generate short videos. Many of these AI tools offer free versions for you to explore and experiment with. I haven’t started exploring this aspect of AI yet.
Embracing AI and Pluto’s Energy
There is a lot of fear surrounding AI, but I don’t think we can’t stop the technological advances coming our way. After all, Pluto is power, and Aquarius is technology. However, we can shape these advances to benefit us.
On second thought, maybe we should try to stop AI, as I just overheard my husband having a therapy session with a rather seductive-sounding female avatar. Hmm…
