October 2022 Forecast

First, I want to offer up a prayer for those in Florida impacted by the hurricane and for those doing the rescue work.

                                                                

Last month I told you not to take Mercury retrograde so seriously and because of my newfound enlightened idea about Mercury Retrograde, I decided to go on a road trip the day on the day Mercury turned retrograde. (The very worst time in the retrograde cycle.)  We planned to stop at a restaurant in Delaware that I had found on Google and spent about 45 minute’s looking for it in the pouring rain.  All the time my husband and I are snapping at each other, “the GPS isn’t working, google doesn’t lie, it should be right here” Then we finally realized it didn’t exist --it does exist in Maryland.  We were in the wrong state! Then because of the downpour we were driving through, we were late getting to our destination at Fenwick Island.  In ancient Greece, the gods never blamed Hermes (Mercury) for deceiving people, instead, they just laughed at everyone who fell for his tricks. Throughout the drive, I could hear the gods laughing at us.

October will be an interesting month because we have four planets changing directions and an eclipse at the end of the month.  This can be a good month for you if you have felt stuck because things could begin to turn around.

The four planets changing direction are:

Mercury turns direct on Oct 2 at 24 Virgo - Communications could improve.

Pluto turns direct on Oct 8 at 26 Capricorn – Some relief from intense power struggles.

Saturn turns direct on Oct 23 at 18 Aquarius.  Restrictions could ease, both in the outer world and in your personal life.

Mars turns retrograde on Oct 30 at 19 Gemini. You become deeper and more cautious in your communications.

AND:  The Saturn-Uranus square is in a tight orb this month. This creates a lot of friction since Uranus promotes change and Saturn resists it. We had that square in February, June, and December of last year. It symbolized all of the tension we felt throughout 2021.

Oct 1 – Venus Opposite Jupiter at 3 Aries.  This can result in too much of a good thing.  Pints of ice cream can disappear in a flash. You get carried away on Amazon.com ordering fancy clothes you won’t wear because you really have nowhere to go.  Control yourself, especially if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars or the ascendant at 1 to 5 Aries or Libra.

Oct 2 – Mercury turns direct at 24 Virgo. You think that communications will flow now and that you can go forward with your plans.  But Mercury is just finishing up an opposition to Neptune so you may forget what you were going to say and where you were going.  Wait a few days or a week before signing anything of importance. Catch up on your old emails if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 26 Virgo or Pisces.

Oct 6 – Mercury Trine Pluto at 26 Virgo/Capricorn. This is positive energy for getting a lot of work done. This is a time to declutter and eliminate the unnecessary stuff in your personal life. Especially get busy if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 24 to 28 Virgo or Capricorn.

Oct 8 – Pluto turns direct at 26 Capricorn.  When an outer planet changes direction, its energy is strong than usual.  So the 3 days around this date, Plutonic energy will be at its peak. We may experience intense feelings and events in the outer world could affect us at a deep level. We may feel a need to let go of old emotional patterns so that we can create space for a new emotional life to grow.  Pluto is on his way to Aquarius in March 2023.  No more retrogrades while he is in Capricorn. Pluto will begin his process here of churning up and purging the banking system and the large corporate systems.  Remember when he first entered Capricorn in 2008, we had a stock market crash. The U.S. has its natal Pluto at 27 Capricorn in the 2nd house of money so the death and rebirth of our money system will start to speed up. Pluto has a long tail so even when he goes into Aquarius, we will still feel the effects of this.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 24 to 28 Capricorn, be ready for a reckoning around your career, responsibility, and material possession in your life.  Look for the house in your birth chart that contains Capricorn.  This is the area that may experience a total overhaul.  See the Meaning of the houses here

Oct 9 – Full Moon at 16 degrees of Libra/Aries.  This New Moon is conjunct Venus at 13 Libra and Jupiter is in Aries.  So this is a very positive lunation.  It is also in a sextile to Saturn and Mars.  This is probably the best lunation for the rest of the year.  Venus means it is a good time to work on relationships.  With an opposition, you can see what needs to be done to mend any relationship problems you may have.  The Moon is in Aries so things could start to move fast and we could become overly abrupt in our conversations with others.

Oct 10 – Mercury enters Libra until Oct 29. Mercury is what we think about and how we perceive reality.  During this time, we may see the world through rose-colored glasses.  It’s all good, we need the break.

Oct 11 – Sun Trines Saturn at 18 Libra/Aquarius.  This brings in an increased sense of responsibility.  Social and romantic relationships can be renewed.   You are more concerned with long-range goals and objectives. You want to put your creative ideas into practical manifestation.   In other words, get serious if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 16 to 20 degrees of Libra or Aquarius.

Oct 12 – Mars Square Neptune at 23 Gemini/Pisces.  This aspect can be about suppressed anger or secret actions and desires that could lead to self-destruction. There could be deceptions in your business and personal affairs.  Stay alert if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 21 to 25 Gemini or Pisces.

          Mercury Opposite Jupiter at 1 degree of Virgo and Pisces.  This is a repeat of the same aspect on Sep 1.  Were you a little loud and obnoxious on that one? Well, you may not have learned anything if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 29 Leo to 3 Virgo or 29 Aquarius to 3 Pisces.

Oct 14 – Venus Trine Saturn at 18 Libra/Aquarius. This aspect can lead to a serious interest in art and music.  It also favors architects, designers, and those working with antiques.  This aspect is also good for business dealings.  This can bring a calm peaceful, emotional attitude.  Take on some responsibility if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 16 to 20 Libra or Aquarius as it will be easier than before.

Oct 17 – Sun Trine Mars at 24 Libra/Gemini.  This brings increased energy, courage, and self-confidence.  This aspect could get you started working on your ideas and goals.  This is also good for working out and any kind of sports activity. Because this aspect is in the social gabby signs of Libra and Gemini, you may just waste this opportunity on social media texting your so-called friends especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 26 Libra or Gemini.

Oct 18 – Venus Trine Mars at 24 Libra/Gemini.  A very good aspect combining energy with romance, love, and art.  This is very good for creative action. It’s also excellent for actors, musicians, and performing artists.  Enjoy this especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 22 to 26 Libra/Gemini.

Oct 19 – Sun Square Pluto at 26 Libra/Capricorn. This aspect could lead to power struggles, especially around business and joint finances.  There could be aggression from someone and they could completely upset your life.  Be cautious of who you trust on this one especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 24 to 28 Libra Capricorn.

Oct 20 – Venus Square Pluto at 26 Libra/Capricorn.  Someone could really tear you apart on this one.  Watch out for Vampires and even the Wolf Man.  This will affect your personal life.  Are you married to a psychopath?  Sorry, can’t help you. This could have a major impact on your relationships if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 24 to 26 Libra or Capricorn.

Oct 22 – Sun Conjunct Venus at 28 Libra. This is a happy, friendly day. Have a party.  There could be good contacts with women especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 26 to 28 degrees of Libra or 0 degrees of Scorpio.

          Mercury Trine Saturn at 18 Libra/Capricorn.  A good day to improve your discipline, study habits, health, diet, and business and professional affairs.  I know it doesn’t sound like much fun, but it’s Saturn, he can’t help it.  He wants you to get specialized training and to work your way up.  To where? I don’t know.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 16 to 20 Libra or Capricorn, get busy.

Oct 23 – Saturn turns direct at 18 Aquarius. Saturn has been retrograde since June 4, 2022.  When he moves direct it represents a turning point in Saturn’s energy.  He rules your material life, career, your discipline, and your responsibilities. Saturn gets the work done. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 16 to 20 degrees of Aquarius, you can now move forward in our plans for more material security.

          Venus Enters Scorpio until 17 Nov.  This is a favorable time to deal with finances and partnerships.  Your artistic interests and social and romantic involvements may be linked in some way. Venus is about friendship and love and Scorpio is about passion.  Don’t let your strong feelings impact your judgment.

Sun Enters Scorpio until 22 Nov. Scorpio is the sign of desire, depth, passion, intensity, and extremes in feeling.  Being superficial and giddy will not work for you during this time.  Instead, try to get to the bottom of matters, especially things that are hidden or taboo.

Oct 25 – New Moon Solar Eclipse at 2 Scorpio.  This is the most important feature of the month.  It could open a new chapter in your life depending on where it falls in your birth chart. Being in Scorpio, something in our past may be resolved, creating space for something new to come in. It is in a conjunction with Venus, there could be a rebirth of the heart. There will be more information on this and the eclipse on Nov 8 in the eclipse report that I will send out next week.

Oct 26 – Mercury Trine Mars at 25 Libra/Gemini.  Try out some new exercise routines.  These will help your body and your mind now.  It’s also a good day for positive discussions. Enjoy if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 23 to 27 Libra/Gemini.

Oct 27 – Mercury Square Pluto at 26 Libra/Capricorn. Just because you are paranoid, it doesn’t mean someone isn’t out to get you. You are very suspicious, and love peeking out from the curtains, spying on your neighbors.  Cut it out, it’s only Pluto. He gets you running scared.  Do the positive Pluto instead.   Discard your old outworn, archaic ideas and radically change your viewpoint. Can you do that?  I don’t think so if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 24 to 28 Libra/Capricorn.

Oct 28 – Jupiter backs up into Pisces until January 2023. Jupiter entered Pisces back in May 2021 but moved into Aries in May of this year.  That was the first time Jupiter had been in Aries for 12 years. Now that he is back in Pisces, we can revisit some Pisces themes, such as imagination, compassion, sensitivity, and the arts.  What didn’t you finish when Jupiter was in Pisces?  Do it now. When he gets back into Aries, we will start fighting for our rights or fighting each other

Oct 29 – Mercury enters Scorpio until Nov 17.  It’s time for a straight, honest talk with others and yourself. You become interested in investigating occult themes and mysterious phenomena.  Communication with the dead is possible.  Or you may play it safe and just deal with your financial portfolio (if you have one) at this time.  It’s also a good time to do some cognitive therapy.  You have realized for a long time that your cognitive faculties are a little skewed.  Work on that now.

Oct 30 – Mars turns retrograde at 25 Gemini.  Mars rules our energy levels and our ability to take action.  Now we may notice it is more difficult to get motivated. Your get up and go, got up and went.  Because the sign is Gemini, this is important for authors. You could look back at the 2,000 words you have written in the last few months and realize they are crap.  Sorry, but it happens. 

Oct 31 – Are you envious of Scorpios?  If so, put on a real frightening mask and go to a Halloween party. See if you can scare anyone.

 

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:

JUPITER entered Aries on May 1, 2022 and will stay in Aries until Oct 29, 2022, when he backs into Pisces.  This month he is retrograde and will travel from 3 Aries to 29 Pisces  Jupiter in Aries is about taking the lead in our life. He is the big fat happy guy who was excessive in all things.  Jupiter also can expand our experiences, our knowledge, and our confidence.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant between 27 Pisces and 1 degree of Aries expect expansion and blossoming in that area of your chart.

SATURN is in Aquarius until March 2023.  He is retrograde until Oct 23and will stay at 18 degrees all month.  Saturn rules our material world, and especially our career.  Saturn is the old traditional ruler of Aquarius.  So he is happy here.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets 16 to 20 degrees of Aquarius, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. While Saturn is in Aquarius, he will run around trying to restrict all of the social media that he will call fake news.  He hates to see freedom of expression which is what Aquarius is all about.

URANUS is in Taurus until Apr 2026.  Uranus turned retrograde on August 24 and he will move from 18 degrees to 17 degrees of Taurus this month.  This is the time to break loose and make some radical changes in your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable’.  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, (16 to 19 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio) go on a long vacation, preferably to somewhere you have never been before.  Or make some major changes in your life. Taurus is the earth.  Expect earth events such as farming, food, earthquakes volcanos or major weather events during the period that Uranus is in Taurus.

NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism, dreams) is in Pisces until 2026. Neptune is retrograde this month and will move from 23 to 22 degrees of Pisces.  A lack of focus, a sense of drifting, or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too late can be experienced by those of you with the ascendant or Personal Planets at 20 to 25 degrees of Pisces or Virgo. For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for some really inspired films to come out when Neptune is in Pisces. 

PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2023.  This month, Pluto is moving retrograde until Oct 8 and will stay at 26 degrees of Capricorn all month.  He is grinding away in our psyche bringing up all sorts of difficult psychological crap. You should run to your nearest therapist especially if you have the ascendant or personal planets at 24 to 28 degrees of Capricorn.   What needs to die in order to be reborn?

My Thoughts on King Charles III Birth Chart

When an important person enters the world stage, I try not to take a peek at the birth chart because I can get obsessed.  Also, I have other things to do which include working on birth charts.  But with King Charles I couldn’t resist, so here are some of my thoughts.

First a disclaimer: I don’t believe in looking at a birth chart without the person sitting in front of me to give feedback.  I don’t know King Charles as we don’t really run in the same circles. As Robert Hand, a Master Astrologer said, “You don’t know how much consciousness was pumped into the chart.”

King Charles III has the Sun in Scorpio, the Moon in Taurus, and the ascendant in Leo. Knowing these three points in the chart can give us 85% of the information we need to understand the total personality.  All three of these important signs in Charles’ chart are in the fixed modality.  Fixed signs are good if you want someone who will stay in the job and do the same thing day after day and not get bored.  It’s good to have at least one fixed sign of the three in our birth chart.  But Charles has all three. Having too many fixed signs can indicate stubbornness, and rigidity and become stuck in the old ways.

His chart is very similar to his Mom’s-- Queen Elizabeth II who had the Sun in Taurus, Moon in Leo and Capricorn ascendant.  Both had Leo, the sign of royalty in their charts. Elizabeth’s Leo side was more hidden, Charles is right out there where you can see it.

The Queen was a Taurus, also a fixed sign like Charles. But there is a difference between Taurus and Scorpio even though they are both fixed. Taurus is an earth sign and doesn’t easily display emotions. Scorpio on the other hand is a water sign and is much more emotional and touchy-feely than Taurus.

The big difference between them is their rising signs.  Charles’ ascendant is in the friendly extroverted sign of Leo and Queen Elizabeth had an introverted sign of Capricorn and tradition. The Rising sign is what we show the world. Because the queen’s rising sign was an introverted sign, she didn’t give many speeches or interviews.  King Charles with Leo rising, an extroverted sign, will be much more public.

Sun in Scorpio

In my opinion, Scorpio has the greatest growth potential of all the signs. We know this because Scorpio has three symbols associated with it, while the other signs only have one.  The first symbol is the Scorpion which can really sting if angered.  Scorpios can be deadly enemies. The next symbol on the spiral is the snake that sheds its skin.  Scorpios can let the old self die in order to be reborn. The last symbol is the eagle or the phoenix that can soar above all things and look down on all of the struggles and challenges of mankind.  Some Scorpios can reach spiritual heights.

Scorpio is all about power. It is the sign of the Mafioso boss.  That means that Scorpios need to learn how to use power in the right way. All Scorpios are born with this task. They usually have a powerful position, whether it’s a teacher, a nurse or a psychotherapist.

In Charles’ chart, there’s a conflict between Scorpio who wants to remain hidden and wield power behind the throne and Leo who wants to be seen.  Scorpio is water, Leo is Fire and his Moon in Taurus is earth.  I have noticed so many times that a child will have the Moon in the same sign as the mother’s Sun sign.  It means that there is close compatibility.  He perceives his mother as a Taurus and she was a Taurus Sun. He understood her.

Ascendant or Rising Sign is Leo

With Charles’ ascendant in Leo, he will be more accessible and will play the role of King very well.  Leo rules Royalty. Others will respond to him because the ascendant is how others see us.

In Jungian terms, the ascendant is the persona or the mask we wear. Sometimes we can get stuck in our persona and only live through that one sign.   Also, sometimes we can ‘wallow” in the moon and stay the baby only interested in our emotional needs defined by the Moon sign.  It can be difficult to grow into and embody all three signs in our chart.  That is the task we all share.  Sometimes we live out one sign of the three for years and then live out another. 

Moon in Taurus

King Charles’ Moon is in Taurus. The Moon represents one's emotional need. This need may be hidden but powerful. Our goals and aims in this life could be overthrown because our emotional needs are not being satisfied. The Moon is exalted in Taurus. It’s the best placement for the Moon because the Moon signifies our emotional nature and Taurus is a very earthy stable sign.  Charles can be a rock in times of trouble. Charles’ emotional need is for stability. Taurus rules the earth, so he may have an emotional need to heal the environment. Queen Elizabeth’s Moon was in Leo, an emotional need to rule

 

Challenging Natal Aspects in the Birth Chart of King Charles III

While we are trying to develop a lifestyle, vocation, and relationships that will satisfy all of the three signs, sometimes, we are thrown for a loop by our challenging natal aspects. They represent our psychological complexes.  So while making a deep dive into the meaning of the Sun, Ascendant and Moon signs is important, it’s also vital to try to understand those pesky challenging natal aspects. Below are the challenging aspects of Charles’ birth chart.

 

Neptune Conjunct Venus –

I don’t think this is a good aspect to have in a king, but It is a very good aspect for an artist. Neptune signifies yearning and on Venus, it represents a yearning for affection. This aspect is all about romanticism and idealism in relationships.  The expectations can be too high for an ordinary person to fulfill and this yearning could manifest as falling in love with someone unobtainable. Neptune represents sacrifice, so this could lead to playing the victim or savior in a relationship.  As I said, I don’t like this aspect for a King, but Charles may have hidden artistic talent or problematic relationship issues that we don’t know about.

Pluto Square Sun

Pluto rules Scorpio, and Charles’ Sun sign is Scorpio so these together make King Charles a double Scorpio—a very powerful monarch.  Pluto signifies a compulsion and obsession.  When Pluto is in a challenging aspect to the Sun, it signifies a compulsion and obsession to be important and to be the best. There is a need to exercise power and there may be power struggles when young, usually with the father. It’s very important for them to cultivate humility so that they don’t get carried away with power.  They could expect too much of themselves and others and could be combative.

Eclipses 

Eclipses are indications of significant changes in a person’s life. The most important eclipses are those that are conjunct or opposite the lights (Sun and Moon) in the birth chart. The Eclipse on May 16, 2022, at 25 Scorpio fell on Charles’ Sun, and the eclipse on Oct 25, 2022, at 2 degrees of Scorpio will oppose his Moon.

The following interpretations are taken from Christine Teal's book on Eclipses.

An Eclipse on the Sun could indicate a reward, a gift, coming into prominence--being noticed.  But it could also lead to an identity crisis, possibly feeling unequipped to handle what is expected. It could indicate the loss of a benefactor.

An Eclipse on the Moon could indicate changes involving family members. A woman may play a significant role.  It could create moodiness and be drawn to the past.

These eclipses also impacted and will impact Queen Elizabeth’s chart since their two charts are so connected.  The Eclipse on May 16 was on her Saturn, which represents her authority and her professional role.

The eclipse of Oct 25, 2022, will be opposite her Sun. Something or someone uplifts or degrades her identity.

Eclipse energy can last for six months and up to three years. After the eclipse has passed there is usually an event that is triggered by Mars or the Sun hitting the eclipse degree. Therefore, the May 16 eclipse on Charles’ Sun and his Mom’s Saturn was activated on August 13, 2022, when transiting Mars opposed the eclipse point. I’m not a royalty watcher so I don’t know what happened on that date and if the event was known to the public.

The Oct 25, 2022 eclipse at 2 degrees of Scorpio that will oppose Charles’ Moon and conjunct Elizabeth’s Sun will be triggered on April 23, 2023, when the transiting Sun is at 2 Taurus. Now you may think that the eclipses affecting Queen Elizabeth’s chart will no longer matter because she has passed.  But as Jung noticed, the birth chart keeps working after we die.  I have watched this phenomenon many times.  Something about her will be in the news next April 23, 2023.

What’s Transiting Pluto Got to Do with It?

Pluto is leaving Capricorn of tradition and moving into revolutionary Aquarius in March 2023.  It will be in there a few decades. The Pluto sign defines a generation.  Everyone today picks on the Boomer generation for feeling entitled.  Well, they were born when Pluto was in Leo and they are entitled and special.

The sign of Aquarius is anti-king, and anti-monarchy as it rules the common people.  Prometheus the myth for Aquarius was one of the gods living on Olympus. He looked down on humanity and felt sorry for us.  So he rebelled against the gods and brought fire to mankind.  I think that during the time of Pluto in Aquarius, we could see the dismantling of royalty, not just in Britain but wherever there is a ruling class. The last time Pluto was in Aquarius was 1778 and 1798.  Those were the years of the ratification of the American constitution, the enlightenment, the publication of the Vindication of the Rights of Women by Mary Wollstonecraft, and the French Revolution.
