I got a frantic call the other day from a woman who was on the internet reading a description about a transit she was going to have next month. When people get upset about a transit in astrology, it’s usually because they don’t know what astrology represents and how it should be interpreted.
Today we have basically two modes of understanding the world--science on one side and religion on the other. So, we tend to interpret astrology using one of these models.
If we use science, we try to use logical analysis to understand astrology. Astrological archetypes are too complex and fluid to be reduced to an exact meaning.
On the other hand, we may decide to use dogma or a set of morals for interpretation. James Hillman said in one of his lectures that we are all Christians whether we know it or not because we live in a Christian country. It permeates the atmosphere. Therefore, we judge events and people as to whether they are good or bad, right or wrong. That kind of judgmental thinking has no place in astrology.
Astrology is larger and older than both science and most religions. First, you can’t understand a personal transit without looking at the birth chart. Who is the daimon, the guiding spirit, in the birth chart? How is this transit expressing the daimon? Then look at the planet that is transiting--which gods and goddesses does that planet represent. What is their story?
Understanding astrology requires that we think metaphorically and mythically. This is not a talent we are taught in school.
Astrologer quote Rob Brezsny writes, “Astrology is an elegant system of symbols, an art form with a special capacity to feed your soul and educate your imagination. When used with integrity, it doesn't predict literal events. Rather, it engenders imaginative and lyrical approaches for deepening your connection to life's great mysteries.” https://freewillastrology.com/

Mercury will turn direct this month on June 3 at 25 Taurus, and a day later Saturn turns retrograde at 24 Aquarius. This is a very close square aspect. You are thinking you can move ahead now with Mercury direct, but Saturn wants you to stop and reconsider your plans.
Later in the month, Neptune turns retrograde at 25 Pisces. New spiritual dimensions could open up at this time.
This month has a lot of aspects and planets changing directions around 25 to 28 degrees. if your birthday falls anywhere between the 16th through the 20th of January, March, May, June, or December, you may experience your world as an upside-down-land.
Dates to Watch:
Note to my Astrology Clients. Use your Planetary Placement and Ascendant Sheet to find if the following transits will have a major impact on you.
June 3 – Mercury turns direct at 25 Taurus. You will find that your mind starts to clear. I think this has been a tough Mercury retrograde period. I experienced a lot of computer glitches, outages, and miscommunications. Wait until Mercury goes into Gemini on the 13th to get moving ahead on your travel plans.
June 4 – Saturn turns retrograde at 25 Aquarius and will stay retrograde until October 23. Saturn is known as the planet of Karma because he rules time. His Greek name is Cronos as in chronology. During the retrograde, you may start to recognize that some of your behavior and attitudes of the past need to be revisited and corrected. Don’t try to run and hide from the information that comes up. Saturn is a stern taskmaster and will hold your feet to the fire.
June 10 – Mercury trine Pluto at 28 degrees of Taurus/Capricorn. This is a good aspect for making some practical plans. It’s also good for working around the house and garden. If you have the ascendant or personal planets (Sun, Mercury, Moon, Venus, or Mars) at 26 degrees of Taurus or Capricorn to 0 degrees of Gemini or Aquarius, this is a very grounded, sensible energy for you.
June 11 – Venus Conjunct Uranus at 15 Taurus. Venus wants a stable relationship and a lot of affection, but Uranus wants total freedom. Venus is in her own sign of Taurus, so she wins on this one. So you need to stay home and play kissy-face instead of going on an adventure. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 13 to 17 of Taurus or Scorpio, you may have an inner struggle regarding love vs freedom.
June 13 – Mercury enters Gemini until Jul 5. Mercury rules Gemini and is very happy here Gemini knows how to have a good time, but the people around him could go a little nuts trying to follow the constant circular thinking of Gemini. All of the Geminis out there will get a little more spark in their speaking and thinking on this one.
June 14 – Full Moon at 23 degrees of Sagittarius. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter and he is one jolly guy. He brings good luck and protects all of his children born in the sign of Sagittarius. But, Jupiter can be a little full of himself. The 3 days surrounding this full moon are not the best time for a political debate or a discussion about your relationship. You could have a tendency to speak impulsively or say something that you regret later. This Full Moon is in a square to Saturn and Neptune leading you to release your imagination in a practical down to earth way.
June 16 – Sun Trine Saturn at 25 Gemini/Saturn. This is a good time to start new projects. Saturn promises that they will last a long time. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 23 to 27 degrees of Gemini, this is a good time to organize your thoughts, and your inbox and start drafting the great American novel you have been talking about.
Sun Square Neptune at 25 Gemini/Pisces. This aspect does not negate the Sun/Saturn trine. It adds imagination to the mix. Saturn will defend you from deceiving yourself and others. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 23 to 27 of Gemini or Pisces, put your fantasies into some creative work.
June 18 – Venus Square Saturn at 25 Taurus/Aquarius. You could walk around with a chip on your shoulder because others are picking on you. You could have problems for a few days because of your belligerence. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 23 to 27 of Taurus or Aquarius, let your irritation subside before you go out and socialize.
June 21 – Sun enters Cancer until July 22. This is the month for family and the home. Get out the old rusty barbeque equipment and start cooking.
The summer solstice. This is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and is the official start of summer. Because it is the peak of the growing season, the solstice has been linked to fertility around the world.
Venus Trine Pluto at 28 Taurus/Capricorn. This is a great day for courtship (is that word still used outside of Jane Austen novels?) and for solidifying friendships. But more importantly, it’s a good day to plan your financial future. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 26 degrees of Taurus or Capricorn to 0 degrees of Gemini or Aquarius you could create love and money today.
June 22 – Venus enters Gemini until July 17. Venus likes physical contact, but Gemini doesn’t. He loves to talk about love and sex and all of that Venus stuff, in fact, he may even write about it, but that’s as far as he goes.
June 28 – Neptune turns retrograde at 25 degrees of Pisces and will stay retrograde until December 3rd. Neptune is the planet of feminine energy and the ruler of Pisces. He represents what is ideal, transcendent, nebulous, and spiritual. But he also can create delusions and addictions. When he is retrograde he loses his foggy, romantic aspect and can leave us facing harsh realities. The rose-colored glasses come off. Also, during Neptune retrograde, we can find deeper meaning in the spiritual aspects of our life.
New Moon at 7 Cancer. This will bring up a desire for a cozy home with comfort foods and nurturing. Set an intention on this new moon around Cancer themes such as finding a home, and having safety and security.
OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:
JUPITER entered Aries on May 11last month and will stay in Aries until Oct 29, 2022, when backs back into Pisces. This month he will travel from 3 to 7 degrees of Aries. Jupiter in Aries is about taking the lead in our life. Jupiter’s effects are to expand our experiences, our knowledge, and our understanding. If you have personal planets or the ascendant between 1 to 9 degrees of Aries expect expansion and blossoming in that area of your chart.
SATURN is in Aquarius until March 2023. He turns retrograde on June 4 and will move from 25 to 24 degrees this month.. Saturn rules our material world, and especially our career. Saturn is the old traditional ruler of Aquarius. So he is happy here. If you have the ascendant or any personal planets 22 to 27 degrees of Aquarius, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. While Saturn is in Aquarius, he will run around trying to restrict all of the social media that he will call fake news. He hates to see freedom of expression which is what Aquarius is all about.
URANUS is in Taurus until Apr 2026. This month he moves from 15 to 17 degrees of Taurus. This is the time to break loose and make some radical changes in your life. I believe in ‘cooperating with the inevitable’. If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, (13 to 19 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio) go on a long vacation, preferably to somewhere you have never been before. Or make some major changes in your life. Taurus is the earth. Expect earth events such as earthquakes volcanos or major weather events during the period that Uranus is in Taurus.
NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism, dreams) is in Pisces until 2026. This month turns retrograde on June 28 and will stay at 25 degrees of Pisces all month. A lack of focus, a sense of drifting, or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too late can be experienced by those of you with the ascendant or Personal Planets at 23 to 27 degrees of Pisces or Virgo. For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative expression, increased dreams, and spiritual insights. Watch for some really inspired films to come out during the time Neptune is in Pisces.
PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2023. This month, Pluto is moving retrograde and will move from 28 to 27 degrees of Capricorn. He is grinding away in our psyche bringing up all sorts of difficult psychological crap. You should run to your nearest therapist especially if you have the ascendant or personal planets at 25 degrees of Capricorn to 0 degrees of Aquarius. What needs to die in order to be reborn?
Have a great Month
