April 2016 Forecast

We have three planets stationing and turning retrograde this month.

Mars on April 17 at 8 Sagittarius, Pluto on April 18 at 17 Capricorn and the infamous Mercury on April 28 at 23 Taurus.  These will be powerful stations for you if you have any planets at 8 Sagittarius/Gemini; 17 Capricorn/Cancer and 23 Taurus/Scorpio.  On a station, the planet is standing still and its energy is much more dynamic.  See Meaning of the planets here.

Dates to Watch:

Apr. 5 – Sun Trine Saturn.  This is a good aspect for dealing with elders.  It is good for service and for new projects that can increase in value.

          Venus enters Aries until April 29. Venus isn’t too happy here.  Aries is too fast for her sensual, dreamy self.  To adjust to Aries, she may decide to try speed dating.

          Mercury enters Taurus until June 12. Mercury isn’t happy here, he has to slow down and he is the guy with wings on his feet.  Our mental processes may drag; you are not your witty self during this period. You may brood about how much money you aren’t making, but it will be hard to get off the couch.

Apr. 6 – Sun Square Pluto at 17 Aries/Capricorn.  You may be tempted to join with those interesting guys you just met and rob the local liquor store OR maybe sell some drugs on the side to increase your income.  Don’t expect a positive side of this from me, there isn’t any. You could definitely be recruited by the Mafia if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars) or the ascendant at 17 Aries, Libra, Capricorn or Cancer.

April 7 – New Moon at 18 Aries.  Some consider this the beginning of the year.  It’s a time to set your intentions for the year by constructing a vision board with pictures of everything you want to bring into your life this year.  You are interested in starting new projects.  Look at the house in your birth chart where this New Moon falls.  This is the area of life that needs to be energized.  See meaning of houses here.

Apr. 9 – Sun Conjunct Uranus at 20 Aries.  This is a dynamic aspect.  You want to do your own thing.  Aries tends to be impulsive on a good day, so be careful of what you rebel against and throw over--you know…the bath water thing.  Very strong and impetuous for those with personal planets at 18 to 22 Aries or Libra.

Apr. 12 – Venus Trine Mars at 8 degrees Aires/Sagittaius. A hot time for romance and it should run smooth.

Apr. 14 – Mercury Trine Jupiter at 14 Taurus/Virgo.  A good time for mental recreation.  Do a crossword puzzle.

Apr 17 – Mars turns retrograde at 8 Sagittarius and stays retrograde until June 29.  I hope you got a lot done this year up to now because Mars retrograde means that your energy is sluggish, its like trying to walk through quicksand.  I know-- why didn’t I warn you about this before now?  Conserve your energy and wait until June 29 to go forward with your plans.

Apr 18 – Pluto turns retrograde at 17 Capricorn and stays retrograde until Sep 26.  This is a tough one for all of the Scorpios out there.  Your ruler is backing up.  You always feel powerful and in control.  During this period?  Not so much.

          Venus Trine Saturn.  You may meet up with a friend you have not seen in a long time. Relationships are grounded and real.

Apr 19 – Sun enters Taurus until May 20. A good time to enjoy the earth and nature.  Go on a picnic or a hike.

          Venus Square Pluto at 17 Aries/Capricorn.  This bring about embarrassing relationship issues.  Certainly do not go on a blind date with anyone on this aspect.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 17 Aries, Libra, Capricorn or Cancer, just stay home. If you are married, make a vowel of silence for the day.

Apr 22 – Full Moon at 2 Scorpio.  Scorpio has strong feelings and emotions and a strong sense of purpose.  We can all use this Scorpio energy to be receptive and responsive to outside influences.

          Venus conjunct Uranus at 21 Aries.  You want something difference in your relationship.  You may search out some wild and crazy friends to hang out with.

Apr 28 – Mercury turns retrograde at 23 Taurus and stays retrograde until May 22.  This is a time to reflect.  We don’t normally take the time in our busy lives to think about where we are going and what we are doing.  Mercury retrograde forces us to do that.

Apr 29 – Venus enters Taurus until May 24.  Venus loves being in Taurus.  It is all cuddly and huggy on this one.  You will feel like getting a massage or a sauna, Taurus is about the body and Venus is love, you figure it out.

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:

JUPITER is now retrograde in Virgo and will move from 15 to 13 degrees this month.  He goes direct on May 9, 2016.  Jupiter is about growth and expansion especially in travel and education and also in the area of your life ruled by the house in your natal chart that holds 13 to 15 degrees of Virgo. When Jupiter is retrograde, there is inner growth.  Studying on our own or meditating.

SATURN is in Sagittarius until Dec 2017. He went retrograde on March 25.  This month he will travel from 16 to 15 degrees of Sagittarius.  If you have the ascendant or any personal planets at 15 to 16 degrees of Sagittarius or Gemini, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules.  While Saturn is in Sagittarius, he is asking about your belief system, your hopes for the future and your travel plans

URANUS is in Aries until 2018.  This month Uranus moves from 19 to 21 degrees of Aries.  We feel a need for freedom and we want to make some radical changes in our life.  I believe in “cooperating with the inevitable”.  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, go on a long vacation, move, or make some major changes in your life.

NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism, dreams) is in Pisces until 2026.  He will move from 10 to 11 degrees of Pisces all month.  A lack of focus, a sense of drifting or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too late can be experienced by those of you with the Sun or Personal Planets at 10 to 11 degrees of Pisces or Virgo. For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative expression, increased dreams and spiritual insights. Watch for some really inspired films to come out during the time Neptune is in Pisces.  Also contact with elves, gnomes and fairies.

PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2023.  This month Pluto stays at 17 degrees of Capricorn.  He starts to move retrograde on April 18.    Everyone is feeling the urge to purge and to find his or her truth.  Profound changes will be felt especially by those with Sun, ascendant or personal planets at 16 to 17 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer.

March 2016 Eclipses

 
Every six months, eclipses show the turning points in our lives. They shine a spotlight on something we have not seen previously.  Eclipses indicate what we are to accomplish for the following 6 months to 3 years. They bring in news and events that are sometimes "out of the blue". Time seems to speed up. In a positive sense, eclipses can clear what may obscure the way forward. Remember that the key words for eclipses are emphasis and crisis.  

Eclipses are contrary to the status quo. If impacted by one of these eclipses, your life will not run on the same track it has been on.  But that can be a good thing. Some view eclipses as release and renewal points.  If your birthday falls on or close to the dates of an eclipse your life will change dramatically in the months and years ahead.

The ancients believed that during an eclipse, the "mighty will fall". They appear often in the mythology of different cultures most often as symbols of obliteration, fear, and the overthrow of the natural order of things. Eclipses were the great omens of fated, large-scale events. The word eclipse comes from a Greek word meaning "abandonment." Quite literally, an eclipse was seen as the Sun abandoning the earth.

Solar Eclipses – The eclipse of the Sun has been traditionally viewed with dread over the ages, as the Sun seems to disappear from the sky. It gets dark in the middle of the day and it seems as if something dreadful is about to happen. Solar Eclipses tend to relate to sudden events that disrupt our day to day functioning; they are the crisis that seems to come out of nowhere and that suddenly demand all of our conscious attention and focus. They tend to stir things up on a physical and conscious level much more than Lunar Eclipses. 

Total Solar Eclipse on Mar 8 at 8:45 PM EST at 18 Pisces 

This Total Solar Eclipse will be visible in Indonesia and the Pacific Ocean.  The partial phase of the eclipse will be visible in Malaysia, The Philippines, Thailand and the Pacific and Hawaii.

This eclipse is ruled by Jupiter because Jupiter is opposite this eclipse plus he is the old traditional ruler of Pisces.  Jupiter is usually beneficial but he is now in Virgo where he is not strong and also he is retrograde which weakens him more.  Jupiter rules the Church and men of the Church.  It also rules Kings or Leaders.  We may see a departure of a famous man during or right after this eclipse. 

An eclipse means “the end of one set of circumstances and the beginning of another.”  I have also found that it acts as a release point (an ending), but sometimes what has been released may not be what we wish and then, sometimes it is.  So an eclipse is not necessarily an “omen of bad tidings” but it does mean that we have to ready ourselves for letting go and changing.  Now where we let go has to do with what House the eclipse will fall.  Thus an eclipse in our 7^th house (especially if conjoined or opposed a planet from this place) points to a definite “change in relationship.” 

This Solar Eclipse is in Pisces, so it will relate to hidden resources that may suddenly emerge, hidden blessings that are brought into activity, or possible hidden enemies or other “underground/subconscious forces” that now appear on the surface of events.  If you can synthesize these meanings within the nature of the astrological house the eclipse is transiting, you will have a very good idea how your life may be affected. 

Lunar Eclipses - The Lunar Eclipse gives us opportunities to break out of our current cycle and move on to a different level.  A Lunar Eclipse can make us more aware of our patterns, and our unconscious motivations. Lunar Eclipses can bring up old memories and feelings.  As a full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse tends to bring completion or endings. On a Lunar Eclipse something will end and on a Solar Eclipse something will begin. A Lunar Eclipse is an opportunity to break habits or eliminate socially conditioned patterns of thought and behavior that stand in the way of self-realization. 

Full moon eclipses can bring things to completion that you have been working on. You can finally make decisions about issues that you have been thinking about. The Sun opposite the Moon, lights up the Moon and brings previously unexamined areas of your life into awareness. 

 Lunar Eclipses are more emotional than Solar Eclipses.  Because a Lunar Eclipse only happens on a full moon, two houses in your natal chart will be affected. 

 Lunar Eclipse on March 23 at 8:01 AM EST at 3 Libra/Aries

 This eclipse affects two signs – Aries and Libra.  Aries want to be free and Libra wants to be in a partnership.  This is the conflict that needs to be worked out during this eclipse period. It is about relationships versus self interest. 

This eclipse is conjunct Mercury which makes Mercury the ruler of the eclipse.  You may find yourself deep into studies or new important information could come in.

How will these eclipses affect you? 

Eclipses repeat every 19 years.  We had two eclipses at the same points in March 1997.  Look back to what happened then.  This will continue a theme that was playing out at that time. 

An eclipse tends to emphasize matters related to the house it falls in on your natal chart or what planets it conjuncts, or opposes.  The areas ruled by the houses or planets will demand more attention, thought, energy, and time from you, at least until the next eclipse. Eclipses open doors and invite us to come in, illuminating and stimulating areas of our lives that need our attention. 

The Solar Eclipse on the 8th will affect you if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and/or Mars) or the ascendant at 16 to 20 degrees of Virgo or Pisces. 

The impact on a personal planet is much stronger than if the eclipse hits outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune or Pluto). 

Also look at your natal chart for the houses that contain 16 to 20 degrees of Virgo or Pisces. 

The Lunar Eclipse on the 23^th will impact you if one of your personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the ascendant is at 1 to 5 degrees of Aries or Libra. It will mean the end of one set of circumstances and the beginning of another. Let go. 

Also look at your natal chart for the houses that contains 1 to 5  degrees of Aries or Libra.
