This month Mercury turns retrograde in Scorpio on Oct 4th until October 25.
On October the 6th there will be a Grand Fire Trine in the sky at 14 to 16 degrees of Sagittarius, Leo and Aries. We had Jupiter Trine Uranus last month, but now Mars joins the party. We can expect a lot of positive change, new ideas and dreams come true. There will be an urge for personal freedom. This is an especially potent aspect if you have Aries, Leo or Sagittarius planets at 14 to 16 degrees.
There are two Eclipses this month – and what is unusual about these eclipses is that both of them will be seen in North America. The Lunar Eclipse on the 8th is at 15 Aries and the Solar Eclipse on the 23rd is at 0 Scorpio. Since eclipses repeat every 19 years. We had eclipses at this same point in Oct 1995.
Dates to Watch:
Oct 4 – Sun Square Pluto at 11 degrees of Libra and Capricorn. Other peoples' plans are in direct conflict with yours. Don't make demands and practice self-control today especially if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the Ascendant at 11 degrees of Cancer, Libra, Capricorn or Aries.
Mercury turns retrograde at 2 Scorpio and stays retrograde until Oct 25. A good time to review your life, revise your plans and return to previous plans and ideas.
Oct 5 – Mars Trine Uranus at 14 Sagittarius and Aries. This is part of the grand trine and is great for fire signs especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 14 degrees of Sagittarius or Aries. On this aspect you want to explore unusual sites and meet some weird characters.
Oct 7 Sun Opposite Uranus at 14 Libra/Aries. You could run into nasty quarrelsome people today. Try being tactful.
Oct 8 – Lunar Eclipse at 15 Aries at 6:51 AM EDT. This eclipse is tied into the grand trine by the Moon being in Aries. So we have the Moon at 15 Aries, Jupiter at 17 Leo, Uranus at 14 Aries and Mars at 16 Sagittarius. Fire signs are active, you may feel like embarking on a journey either of the mind or the body. Again the degrees of 14 to 17 degrees of fire signs are activated. Look at the house where this eclipse falls. The areas covered by that house will be very active in the coming month. This eclipse affects two signs – Aries and Libra. Aries want to be free and Libra wants to be in a partnership. This is the conflict that needs to be worked out during this eclipse period. It is about relationships versus self interest.
If one of your personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the ascendant is at 15 degrees of Aries or Libra this eclipse will be important and make an impact in your life. It will mean the end of one set of circumstances and the beginning of another. Let go. Check the meaning of the planets in your birth chart.
Venus Square Pluto at 11 degrees of Libra/Capricorn. This can be quite nasty when it comes to relationships. You or your partner or both of you are being demanding, controlling and a bit possessive. Cut it out.
Mars Trine Jupiter at 17 Sag/Leo. This is part of the grand trine. This brings an urge to travel to expand your life and get out of your comfort zone.
Oct 10 – Mercury backs up into Libra until Nov 8. Mercury in Libra is busy here trying to negotiate and harmonize situations and people.
Oct 11 – Venus Opposite Uranus at 14 Libra/Aries Unusual people come into your life to cause some upsets.
Oct 16 – Sun Conjunct Mercury at 22 degrees of Libra. You are absolutely brilliant today, spouting off all sorts of literary references and quotations and not noticing that others around you are bored stiff.
Oct 17 – Mercury Conjunct Venus at 22 Libra. A good day to tell your friends and loved ones how nuts you are about them.
Oct 23 – Solar Eclipse at 0 Scorpio at 5:57 PM. This eclipse is connected to Venus. That can make this a very lovely eclipse. This eclipse is in Scorpio and will stir up all kinds of deep, dark secrets, desires and emotions.
Sun enters Scorpio until Nov 22. It is no accident that Halloween falls in the Scorpio month of the year. Scorpio rules death and all sorts of scary things.
Venus enters Scorpio until Nov 16. During this time you are not happy with casual relationships, you want something intense and deep. Go find a Scorpio.
Oct 25 – Sun conjunct Venus at 2 Scorpio. This aspect is all about making new friends and increasing your popularity. Don't pass up any parties today because you will be a knock-out.
Mercury turns direct at 16 Libra. Time to move forward on your plans, especially regarding career.
Oct 26 – Mars enters Capricorn until Dec 4. A good placement for Mars. He gets things done but not in his usually impulsive, thoughtless way. Now he can build something worthwhile.
Oct 27 – Venus Trine Neptune at 4 Scorpio/Pisces. A lovely romantic day.
Oct 28 – Sun Trine Neptune at 4 Scorpio/Pisces. Your friendships can be brought up to a highly idealistic or spiritual level today.
OUTER PLANET TRANSITS:
JUPITER is in Leo until August 2015.. This month Jupiter will move from 16 Leo to 20 Leo. Jupiter is about growth and expansion. Look to the house in your natal chart that holds 16 to 20 degrees of Leo. Read my article about Jupiter in Leo here.
SATURN is in Scorpio until Dec 24, 2014. This month Saturn moves from 20 to 23 degrees of Scorpio. If you have the ascendant or any personal planets at 20 to 23 degrees of Scorpio or Taurus in your natal chart, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. Scorpio rules passion, sex and depths of all kinds and Saturn may ask you to take on more responsibility for how you control your rage and psychological expression.
URANUS is in Aries until 2018. This month Uranus is retrograde and is moving from 14 to 13 degrees of Aries. We all feel a need to rebel; we want more freedom and want to make some radical changes in our life. I believe in “cooperating with the inevitable”. If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, go on a long vacation, move, or make some major changes in your life.
NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism, dreams) is in Pisces until 2026. He is retrograde and is moving from 5 degrees to 4 of Pisces all month. A lack of focus, a sense of drifting or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too late can be experienced by those of you with the Sun or Personal Planets at 5 or 4 degrees of Pisces or Virgo. For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative expression, increased dreams and spiritual insights.
