The big
news last month is that the Pope has retired.
Eric Francis has done a good analysis of this event by looking at the Pope’s
natal chart and the chart of the announcement of his retirement.
Mercury turns direct this month on March 17. Pisces is still seeing a lot of activity the first half of this month. At midmonth Aries starts to get hit with a bunch of nasty aspects. And dear Aries, don’t try to fight back. Just duck.

Dates to Watch:
Mar 1 – Sun Trine Saturn. This is a good time to deal positively with your elders or with those in authority.
Mar 3 – Sun Conjunct Mercury at 14 degrees of Pisces. This aspect enhances our communication skills. Having the sun on Mercury means our mind is “lit up” especially if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the ascendant at 13 to 15 Pisces.
Venus Square Jupiter at 8 degrees Pisces/Gemini. Some personal issue may be very emotional and upsetting right now. Wait until this aspect is over before dealing with it.
Mar 6 – Venus Trine Saturn. This is the day to resolve relationship problems and you may see a friend that you have not been in contact with for a long time.
Mercury Conjunct Venus at 11 Pisces. This is a good day to communicate your feelings whether it is with a loved one or in your journal. It is very good for public speaking or for singing.
Mar 7 – Mercury Trine Saturn. This is another aspect that shows a positive contact with an old friend or with an elder or authority figure.
Mar 9 – Mercury Square Jupiter at 8 Pisces/Gemini. It is very tempting today to go on a buying spree or to promise more than you can deliver. Hold your tongue and your wallet.
Mar 11 – New Moon at 21 Pisces. This is the start of the month. Look at the house that contains 21 Pisces. This is the area of life that will be very active until the new moon next month on April 10th.
Mar 12 – Mars enters Aries until April 20. Mars is very happy in Aries. If you are an Aries or have Aries rising expect to get a surge in your energy. You will feel like taking on new projects and can get a lot accomplished.
Mar 17 – Mercury turns direct at 5 degrees of Pisces. Finally, Mercury turns direct. During this retrograde, we had 3 door knobs break. Mercury rules doorways and keys and a bunch of other stuff. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 5 Pisces you could get a little confused on this one.
Mar 20 – Sun enters Aries until April 19. This is the astrological start of the New Year. We feel energized and ready to move ahead after the dreary winter we had.
Mar 21 – Venus enters Aries until April 15. Venus is very spunky in Aries. You become aggressive and decide you are going to find the right person on Match.com or else.
Mar 22 – Mars conjunct Uranus at 8 Aries. This is a dangerous aspect, don’t go skydiving or drive too fast on this one, especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 Aries.
Mar 26 – Mars Square Pluto at 11 Aries/Capricorn. If you have personal planets at 11 Aries or Capricorn or Cancer. You will be more hardheaded today than you usually are. I’m not going to try to tell you to compromise because you won’t or can’t. Just stay home.
Mar 27 – Full Moon at 5 Libra. This full moon expands our mood so that we feel in love with the entire world. A good time for mediation.
Mar 28 – Mercury trine Saturn. A good day to get some work down and you omind it, it will just flow.
Sun Conjunct Venus at 7 Aries. This is a very active aspect and having Venus involved means we could get busy with our art projects.
Venus Conjunct Uranus at 8 Aries. You feel like breaking up with your adorable other. You feel smothered and need some fresh air. Wait a while before you make an ultimatum.
Sun Conjunct Uranus at 8 Aries. This reinforces the above. Aries can take off like a wild bird anytime, but this aspect and the one above give them the extra kick to get them moving. Try to tackle something creative instead.
Mar 29 – Mercury Square Jupiter at 11 Pisces/Gemini. This is a repeat of March 9. But Mercury is moving direct now so there may not be too many relationship mix-ups.
Mar 31 – Venus Square Pluto at 11 Aries/Capricorn. Pluto aspect are not very much fun. They drag us down to the underworld kicking and screaming. Be careful of falling in love with a psychopath even though they can be really charming.
Sun Square Pluto at 11 Aries/Capricorn. A good day to do some research. Look things up on google. Do some genealogy. That is a good way to use this energy or you could also dig a tunnel in your back yard. Pluto loves to do all of these things.
OUTER PLANET TRANSITS
JUPITER is in Gemini until Jun 25, 2013. This month he will move from 7 Gemini to 11 Gemini. You will now feel enthusiastic and exuberant. A good time to expand your life with education and experiences. Look to the house in your natal chart that holds 7 to 11 degrees of Gemini. This is the area of your life that will experience this expansion.
SATURN is in Scorpio until Dec 24, 2014. This month Saturn is moving retrograde from 11 to 10 degrees. He turns retrograde this month Feb 18. If you have the Ascendant or any personal planets at 11 to 10 degrees of Scorpio or Taurus in your natal chart, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. Scorpio rules passion, sex and depths of all kinds and Saturn may ask you to take on more responsibility for how you control your rage and psychological expression.
URANUS is in Aries until
2018. This month Uranus moves from 6 to 8 degrees. We all feel a need to
rebel; we want more freedom and want to make some radical changes in our
life. I believe in “cooperating with the inevitable”. If you have
Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, go on a
long vacation, move, or make some major changes in your life.
NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism,
dreams) has just moved into Pisces until 2026. This month Neptune
is moving from 3 to 4 degrees of Pisces all month. A lack of focus, a sense of
drifting or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too
late can be experienced by those of you with the Sun or Personal Planets at 3
or 4 degree of Pisces or Virgo. For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative
expression, increased dreams and spiritual insights. Watch for some really
inspired films to come out during the time Neptune
is in Pisces.
PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2023. This month Pluto will stay at 11 degrees of Capricorn all month. Everyone is feeling the urge to purge and to find his or her truth. Profound changes will be felt especially by those with Sun, Ascendant or personal planets at 11 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer.
