May 2013 Forecast

Rick Tarnas, author of Cosmos and Psyche, is presenting a workshop on May 11 at the Jung Society of Washington in DC.  In this workshop, The Comic Genius: An Archetypal Astrological Perspective, he will look at the astrological archetypes of some well-known comedians.  I saw Rick do a workshop in Baltimore in 2008 on musicians, using this same technique of understanding their music based on the archetypes in their chart. On another subject, did you hear about TED (short internet lectures)  banning Rupert Sheldrake? Sheldrake wrote a great book that I read last month entitled Science Set Free: Ten Paths to New Discovery.  He gave a talk which TED removed from the main part of the site because he challenged some of the main tenants of science. This caused a major furor on the web, but helped Sheldrake sell a lot of copies of his book.  Check out his talk here. It is interesting to see how scientists are becoming fundamentalists. 

What a traumatic month we had in April. The Oxford Astrologer pointed out that the US always has horrific events in April because the Sun is squaring the USA Pluto at that time every year.  But last month we also had Mars conjunct the sun squaring the USA Pluto plus Pluto putting on the brakes slowing down and turning retrograde on April 12.  Mars conjuncts the Sun every 2 years, but this time it happened in Aries the god of war. Aries rules the archetypal figures of police, solders, and emergency responders.  They dominated our TV screens during the bombing. The chart for the bombing shows sneaky, deceptive Neptune in the 7^th house of enemies.  Something is not clear about this event.  See Eric Francis for more details and the meaning of Neptune in the 7^th house.

There was a fertilizer explosion in Texas 2 days after the bombing in Boston and less than a week later a building housing garment workers collapsed in Bangladesh. Also in April, the American Airlines Reservation system crashed. The poison ricen was mailed to President Obama and Mississippi government officials.  Also, massive earthquakes occurred on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, and in Sichuan province, China.  What is going on? 

Perhaps the reason is that Pluto was at his most intense in April because he was slowing down and stationing AND he was and is squaring Uranus. Pluto rules destruction and Uranus rules explosions.  In fact that aspect will be exact on May 20. It is the third in a series of seven Pluto Uranus squares.  I am hoping this is the turning point and we may see the rebirth promised by Pluto and the liberation promised by Uranus. In your personal life try to let go of what is dying and put your energy into what is being born. These two planets of revolution and transformation have been doing this square dance since 2012 and will continue through 2015. This is a good time to reinvent yourself.  

The events of last month really focused our minds on evil -- where does it come from and how can we cope?  Author and teacher, Paul Levy uses the ideas of Jung, Buddhism, the Kabala and especially an American Indian concept called Wetiko to explain evil in his latest book Dispelling Wetiko: Breaking the Curse of Evil.  See this video.

This is going to be another month of surprises and upheavals.  We have two more eclipses this month. A Solar Eclipse on May 9 and a Lunar Eclipse on May 25. See my blog post on the eclipses. 

Dates to Watch:

 

May 1 – Mars Opposite Saturn.  You want to go here, you want to do that and you are eager to get up and running.  But wait for another day - Saturn is sitting on you.  He wants to see you bent over your computer in your little cubby hole working.

 

          Mercury enters Taurus until May 15.  Mercury rules the mind and our minds are as slow as molasses in this sign.  We think about property, we think about money, we think about lying under a tree and chewing our cud, whatever that is.

 

          Sun Trine Pluto. You could collaborate with someone powerful that you trust and admire.

 

May 5 – Mercury opposite Saturn. So now you think of taking a trip.  But here is Saturn again sitting on you.  He doesn’t mind if you take a business trip.

         

          Mars Trine Pluto. You are more stimulated than usual.  Let go of people and things that are not necessary for your growth.

 

May 7 – Mercury Trine Pluto.  Someone you admire may be of assistance to you.

 

          Mercury Conjunct Mars. Your mind is stimulated and your speech is impulsive.  Don’t offend people.

 

May 9 – Solar Eclipse at 19 Taurus at 8:28 PM EDT.  Major, important eclipse.  This eclipse shines a light on our property, money and on our values.  We will become more aware of what we treasure, what is important and what isn’t.

 

May 11 – Sun Conjunct Mercury.  The light is shining on your mind.  A lot of bright ideas come streaming in to you.

 

May 13 – Venus Square Neptune.  You are so sweet and kind today, that everyone starts taking advantage of you.  You become a doormat for others.  Timidity will get you nowhere.

 

May 15 – Mercury enters Gemini until May 31.  Mercury is really happy in Gemini.  We all start to jabber too much, and no one is listening.

 

May 17 – Mars conjunct the May 9 eclipse point.  This aspects ticks of the eclipse of May 9.  You will see some major events in the world and/or your personal life especially if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the ascendant at 16 to 22 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio.

 

May 18 – Mercury Square Neptune.  You are truly spacey and confused on this aspect. 

 

May 20 - Sun enters Gemini until June 2.  A time for fun.  A good month for vacations, networking and making new friends.

 

          Uranus Square Pluto at 11 Aries/Capricorn.  This is the biggie

The third square in the series of 7.  If you have any personal planets

(Sun, Mercury, Moon, Venus, Mars) or the ascendant at 8 to 15 Aries, Capricorn or Cancer you have been through some tough times.  Maybe the rebuilding will start at this middle square.

 

May 24 – Mercury conjunct Venus.  We are thinking of love today, and talking a bunch of sweet crap.

 

May 25 – Lunar Eclipse at 4 Sagittarius at 12:25 AM EDT.  This is the last eclipse in Sagittarius and Gemini.  The changes brought about by eclipses are through for those signs.

 

May 26 – Sun Square Neptune.  A good day to go off by yourself or go on a retreat.

 

May 27 – Mercury Conjunct Jupiter.  You believe that you can’t lose that everything will work out.  Is that true?  How’s that working for you?

 

May 28 – Venus conjunct Jupiter.  You just can’t get enough love and affection.  You are driving your partner nuts with your clinging.

 

May 31 – Mercury enters Cancer until August 8.  It takes a long time for Mercury to go into Leo because Mercury turns retrograde on June 26 in Cancer then goes direct on July 20 still in Cancer.

 

          Mars enters Gemini until July 13.  Our energy goes into reading, writing and studying.

 

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS 

 

JUPITER is in Gemini until Jun 25, 2013. This month he will move from 17 Gemini to 14 Gemini.  You will now feel enthusiastic and exuberant.  A good time to expand your life with education and experiences. Look to the house in your natal chart that holds 17 to 24 degrees of Gemini. This is the area of your life that will experience this expansion.

 

SATURN is in Scorpio until Dec 24, 2014. This month Saturn is moving retrograde from 7 to 5 degrees.  If you have the Ascendant or any personal planets at 7 to 5 degrees of Scorpio or Taurus in your natal chart, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. Scorpio rules passion, sex and depths of all kinds and Saturn may ask you to take on more responsibility for how you control your rage and psychological expression. 

 

URANUS is in Aries until 2018.  This month Uranus moves from 10 to 11 degrees. We all feel a need to rebel; we want more freedom and want to make some radical changes in our life.  I believe in “cooperating with the inevitable”.  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, go on a long vacation, move, or make some major changes in your life.
 
NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism, dreams) has just moved into Pisces until 2026. This month Neptune is staying at 5 degrees of Pisces all month. A lack of focus, a sense of drifting or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too late can be experienced by those of you with the Sun or Personal Planets at 5 degree of Pisces or Virgo. For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative expression, increased dreams and spiritual insights. Watch for some really inspired films to come out during the time Neptune is in Pisces.

 

PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2023.  This month Pluto is retrograde and will stay at 11 degrees of Capricorn all month. Everyone is feeling the urge to purge and to find his or her truth.  Profound changes will be felt especially by those with Sun, Ascendant or personal planets at 11 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer.

Eclipses of April and May 2013

We have a rare event this spring – three eclipses: a lunar eclipse on April 25, a Solar Eclipse on May 9 and another Lunar Eclipse on May 25.  These eclipses are moving from Gemini/Sagittarius to Scorpio/Taurus.  This means that Gemini/ Sagittarius have made their changes and are now in a period of adjustment.  Now it’s Scorpio and Taurus’ turn to make some changes.  Of course, Gemini and Sagittarius can make changes much easier than Scorpio and Taurus.  Gemini and Sagittarius are mutable signs and Scorpio and Taurus are fixed.  Fixed signs tend to hold on tight and go kicking and screaming into change.  But eclipses don’t like to see you stuck in a rut, whether it be in a relationship, a job or a location. 

Being a Gemini you will note I am writing from a totally different location today then last year. I didn’t know my old location was a rut until the eclipse on Jun 4, last year on my Sun in my fourth house of home beamed a message to me, “why don’t you move, there is nothing more to gain in that location”.  From astrology I have learned to cooperate with the inevitable.

The above eclipses are repeats from 1994. The eclipses repeat at the same degree of the zodiac every 19 years.  Look back to that year to see if you can predict similar events in your life to happen during April and May.

Every six months, eclipses show the turning points in our lives. They shine a spotlight on something we have not seen previously.  Eclipses indicate what we are to accomplish for the following 6 months to 3 years. They bring in news and events that are sometimes "out of the blue". Time seems to speed up. In a positive sense, eclipses can clear what may obscure the way forward. Remember that the key words for eclipses are emphasis and crisis.  Eclipses are contrary to the status quo. If impacted by one of these eclipses, your life will not run on the same track it has been on. But that can be a good thing.

The ancients believed that during an eclipse, the "mighty will fall". They appear often in the mythology of different cultures most often as symbols of obliteration, fear, and the overthrow of the natural order of things. Eclipses were the great omens of fated, large-scale events. The word eclipse comes from a Greek word meaning "abandonment." Quite literally, an eclipse was seen as the Sun abandoning the earth.

Lunar Eclipses - The Lunar Eclipse gives us opportunities to break out of our current cycles and move on to a different level.  A Lunar Eclipse can make us more aware of our cycles and patterns, and our unconscious motivations. Lunar Eclipses can bring up old memories and feelings.  As a full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse tends to bring completion or endings. On a Lunar Eclipse something will end and on a Solar Eclipse something will begin. A Lunar Eclipse is an opportunity to break habits or eliminate socially conditioned patterns of thought and behavior that stand in the way of self realization.

Full moon eclipses can bring things to completion that you have been working on. You can finally make decisions about issues that you have been thinking about. The Sun opposite the Moon, lights up the Moon and brings previously unexamined areas of your life into awareness. 

Lunar Eclipses are more emotional than Solar Eclipses.  Because a Lunar Eclipse only happens on a full moon, two houses in your natal chart will be affected. 

Solar Eclipses – The eclipse of the Sun has been traditionally viewed with dread over the ages, as the Sun seems to disappear from the sky. It gets dark in the middle of the day and it seems as if something dreadful is about to happen. Solar Eclipses tend to relate to sudden events that disrupt our day to day functioning; they are the crisis that seems to come out of nowhere and that suddenly demand all of our conscious attention and focus. They tend to stir things up on a physical and conscious level much more than Lunar Eclipses.

Lunar Eclipse on April 25, 2013 at 5 Scorpio at 3:57 PM EDT

The aspects to this eclipse are Saturn conjunct the moon (being limited in our emotional expression) and Mars is conjunct the Sun (aroused and ready for a fight).  We look around to see who we should get angry at for our depression.  But this eclipse is also trine to Neptune in Pisces, a beautiful imaginative aspect that could lead us to put all of this energy into music, drama or dance.

This eclipse, because it is in Scorpio will stir up all kinds of deep, dark secrets, desires and emotions. This eclipse affects two signs – Scorpio and Taurus.  Taurus loves security and will want to dig a hole until this is all over.  The best mantra for Taurus to repeat is “Comfort is the enemy of freedom”.

If one of your personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the ascendant is at 2 to 8 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio this eclipse will be important and make an impact in your life. It will mean the end of one set of circumstances and the beginning of another. Let go.  Scorpio will replace what is taken away. Some view eclipses as release and renewal points and this is especially true of Scorpio.                                                                

Solar Eclipse on May 9 at 19 Taurus at 8:29 PM EDT

This eclipse is conjunct Mercury and Mars.  This eclipse will stimulate the mind, and is very good for energetic mental work.  Being in Taurus you will have the focus you need to accomplish this work. 

This Solar Eclipse will affect you if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and/or Mars) or the ascendant at 16 to 22 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio.

Lunar Eclipse on May 25 at 4 Sagittarius 0.25 AM EDT

This eclipse is in a square to Neptune in Pisces, presenting a double whammy about confusion and spaciness. 

This eclipse affects two signs; Gemini and Sagittarius.  The sign of Gemini rules writing, teaching, lectures, the media and all forms of communications.  We may see the death of a renowned writer or professor.  There will be more news about who owns information.  Sagittarius rules foreign countries, the law and higher education. This eclipse could bring up more news items about how we communicate with foreign countries. What laws we have to put in place to protect information.

An eclipse tends to emphasize matters related to the house it falls in on your natal chart or what planets it conjuncts, or opposes.  The areas ruled by the houses or planets will demand more attention, thought, energy, and time from you, at least until the next eclipse. Eclipses open doors and invite us to come in, illuminating and stimulating areas of our lives that need our attention.

Look for a planet(s) in your natal chart located at 2 to 8 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio for the Lunar Eclipse impact of Apr 25; planet(s) at 16 to 22 Taurus or Scorpio for the May 10 Solar Eclipse and a planet(s) at 1 to 7 degrees of Gemini and/or Sagittarius for the Lunar Eclipse of May 25.

The impact on a personal planet is much strong than if the either eclipse hits an outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune or Pluto). To see a list of keywords for the planets, click here.

April 2013 Newsletter

Last week, I went to see the film, Oz: The Great and Powerful.  The Hero of the story, Oz, is a puer aeternus (eternal boy) played by James Franco. Franco plays a kind of Johnny Depp character (I fall for those innocent types with a twinkle in their eyes) who goes on a hero’s journey and along the way struggles to get in touch with his repressed anima.  It’s the prequel to The Wizard of Oz where we find out how the young Oz gets to the Emerald City in the first place. We meet the three witches who each in their own way help him to get in touch with and integrate the inner feminine into his psyche so as to help him grow. Much homage is paid to the original Oz movie, although this film has its own particular look and feel. You know I love these modern mythological type movies where you can have fun using Jung/Campbell interpretations all day long. It’s a beautiful movie to look at as well. Go see it and take a child or two. 

A long term interest of mine regarding the goddess/zodiac images in Washington DC and a topic for which I have given many talks has been written about in Astrology News.

This month we have a Lunar Eclipse on the 25^th of April at 5 Scorpio.  And then 2 more eclipses next month, on the 9^th and 25^th of May.  It is rare to have 3 eclipses in a row, they normally happen in pairs, every 6 months.  This eclipse will be powerful for those of you having personal planets or the ascendant at 5 Scorpio/Taurus.  To find out the location of your planets go to astro.com and put in your birth data, or contact me for a personal astrology session and receive a list of the location of your personal planets.

Uranus and Pluto are about to make the 3^rd of the 7 squares on May 20. This time the square will occur at 11 Aries/Capricorn.  So things are getting tight again especially for those of you with personal planets or the ascendant at 9 to 13 Aries, Capricorn, Cancer or Libra. 

On a global level we can look at this square as fascism versus liberalism. We discussed how these issues were playing out in the Occupy Movement and Arab Spring in previous newsletters.

On that note, it is interesting what is happening in Italy.  Robert Gover, economist and astrologer reports in the ISAR Newsletter that

“Under the previous Uranus-Pluto square, during the 1930s, Italy elected Benito Mussolini, who brought fascism (corporatized governance) to the world, leading to World War II. The USA went in the opposite direction, upgrading the lives of citizens.
Under today’s Uranus-Pluto square, Italy and the USA are opposed again, but this time it is Italy that is threatening to upgrade the lives of its people and the USA which has been sucked into a government of, by and for big banks and corporations.
In the most recent Italian elections, voters rejected the two parties that advocated more austerity (called “sequestering” in the USA). Western politicians must be scratching their heads, for the Italians elected Beppe Grillo, a comedian turned political activist. That’s like Americans electing Bill Maher, Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert President.

Here are some of the changes Grillo’s Five Star Party intends to bring to Italy:

• Remove private ownership from the central bank.
• Eliminate corporate influence in politics.
• End the “revolving door” between government and big    business.
• Expand and broaden the internet.
• Develop sustainable energy sources.
• Upgrade infrastructure.
• Create incentives for local businesses.

Meanwhile, the USA is under the boot of a privatized central bank, the Federal Reserve, which means that we pay more and more to the financial sector (people who move money around for a fee) and less and less to workers who create real wealth. Wall Street has found a variety of ways to take more money out of our economy and invest it in cheap labor markets abroad, or gamble it in derivatives, instead of reinvesting it in the USA.”

Dates to Watch:

Apr 7 – Venus Conjunct Mars.  Very amorous, excitable energy today.  Go on a hike otherwise you could get into big trouble today.

Apr 10 - New Moon in Aries, which places the Sun, Moon, Venus Mars and Uranus all in Aries.  If you are living with an Aries, God forbid, you should take off first thing in the morning and not come back til they have cooled down, if ever.

Apr 12 – Pluto turns retrograde at 11 Capricorn until Sep 20.  Something needs to be overhauled or repaired or updated.  It is you?  Your relationship maybe?  Look at the house in your natal chart that contains 11 Capricorn.  This is the area that needs an upgrade.  See my blog for a meaning of the houses.

Apr 13 – Mercury enters Aries until May 1.  You got some great ideas during this period and in typical Aries fashion you try to jam them down someone’s throat.

Apr 15 – Venus enters Taurus until May 9.  The Money planet is in the Money sign.  A good period to put together a financial plan.

Apr 17 – Sun Conjunct Mars at 27 Aries.  You have the energy and drive to reach your goal, just don’t trample over everyone else.

Apr 19 – Sun enters Taurus until May 20.  A time to slow down.  Taurus doesn’t like to move too fast.  A time to save money and plan for future security.

Apr 20 – Mercury conjunct Uranus at 9 Aries.  More bright ideas!  You are thinking out of the box today. 

          Mars enters Taurus until May 30.  A time for the hotheaded planet to slow down. Your goals now should be around material security.

Apr 21 – Mercury square Pluto.  You are thinking very dark thoughts today. You are looking back into your past and ruminating on all of the people who screwed with you, but you are planning your revenge even if it was 20 years ago.

Apr 22 – Venus opposite Saturn.  I know you want to cuddle and play kissy face but your insignificant other is cold and has other things on his mind.  Wait for a better day.

Apr 24 – Venus Trine Pluto.  This is the day for deep passionate feelings.  Even the Virgos will get all hot and bothered today.

Apr 25 – Lunar Eclipse at 5 Scorpio.  Check your chart for the house that contains 5 Scorpio.  Some secrets will be revealed around this area of your life.   This eclipse is opposite Mars.  So try to avoid conflict.

Apr 28 – Sun opposite Saturn at 8 Taurus Scorpio.  You are butting your head against the wall.  As the Buddhists would say, don’t push the river.  Mellow out.

March 2013 Forecast

The big news last month is that the Pope has retired.  Eric Francis has done a good analysis of this event by looking at the Pope’s natal chart and the chart of the announcement of his retirement.

Mercury turns direct this month on March 17. Pisces is still seeing a lot of activity the first half of this month. At midmonth Aries starts to get hit with a bunch of nasty aspects.  And dear Aries, don’t try to fight back.  Just duck.

Here is a good article to bend your mind around.  It concerns parallel universes.  It shows that every decision you ever made created another universe where you didn’t make that decision.  I’m having trouble even explaining this.  Read

Dates to Watch:

Mar 1 – Sun Trine Saturn.  This is a good time to deal positively with your elders or with those in authority.

Mar 3 – Sun Conjunct Mercury at 14 degrees of Pisces.  This aspect enhances our communication skills.  Having the sun on Mercury means our mind is “lit up” especially if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the ascendant at 13 to 15 Pisces.

          Venus Square Jupiter at 8 degrees Pisces/Gemini.  Some personal issue may be very emotional and upsetting right now.  Wait until this aspect is over before dealing with it.

Mar 6 – Venus Trine Saturn.   This is the day to resolve relationship problems and you may see a friend that you have not been in contact with for a long time.

          Mercury Conjunct Venus at 11 Pisces.  This is a good day to communicate your feelings whether it is with a loved one or in your journal.  It is very good for public speaking or for singing.

Mar 7 – Mercury Trine Saturn. This is another aspect that shows a positive contact with an old friend or with an elder or authority figure.

Mar 9 – Mercury Square Jupiter at 8 Pisces/Gemini.  It is very tempting today to go on a buying spree or to promise more than you can deliver.  Hold your tongue and your wallet.

Mar 11 – New Moon at 21 Pisces.  This is the start of the month.  Look at the house that contains 21 Pisces.  This is the area of life that will be very active until the new moon next month on April 10^th.

Mar 12 – Mars enters Aries until April 20.  Mars is very happy in Aries.  If you are an Aries or have Aries rising expect to get a surge in your energy.  You will feel like taking on new projects and can get a lot accomplished.

Mar 17 – Mercury turns direct at 5 degrees of Pisces.  Finally, Mercury turns direct. During this retrograde, we had 3 door knobs break.  Mercury rules doorways and keys and a bunch of other stuff.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 5 Pisces you could get a little confused on this one.

Mar 20 – Sun enters Aries until April 19.  This is the astrological start of the New Year.  We feel energized and ready to move ahead after the dreary winter we had.

Mar 21 – Venus enters Aries until April 15.  Venus is very spunky in Aries.  You become aggressive and decide you are going to find the right person on Match.com or else.

Mar 22 – Mars conjunct Uranus at 8 Aries.  This is a dangerous aspect, don’t go skydiving or drive too fast on this one, especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 8 Aries.

Mar 26 – Mars Square Pluto at 11 Aries/Capricorn.  If you have personal planets at 11 Aries or Capricorn or Cancer.  You will be more hardheaded today than you usually are.  I’m not going to try to tell you to compromise because you won’t or can’t.  Just stay home.

Mar 27 – Full Moon at 5 Libra.  This full moon expands our mood so that we feel in love with the entire world.  A good time for mediation.

Mar 28 – Mercury trine Saturn.  A good day to get some work down and you omind it, it will just flow.

          Sun Conjunct Venus at 7 Aries.  This is a very active aspect and having Venus involved means we could get busy with our art projects.

          Venus Conjunct Uranus at 8 Aries.  You feel like breaking up with your adorable other.  You feel smothered and need some fresh air.  Wait a while before you make an ultimatum.

          Sun Conjunct Uranus at 8 Aries.  This reinforces the above.  Aries can take off like a wild bird anytime, but this aspect and the one above give them the extra kick to get them moving.  Try to tackle something creative instead.

Mar 29 – Mercury Square Jupiter at 11 Pisces/Gemini.  This is a repeat of March 9.  But Mercury is moving direct now so there may not be too many relationship mix-ups.

Mar 31 – Venus Square Pluto at 11 Aries/Capricorn.  Pluto aspect are not very much fun.  They drag us down to the underworld kicking and screaming.  Be careful of falling in love with a psychopath even though they can be really charming.

Sun Square Pluto at 11 Aries/Capricorn.  A good day to do some research.  Look things up on google.  Do some genealogy.  That is a good way to use this energy or you could also dig a tunnel in your back yard.  Pluto loves to do all of these things.

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS 

JUPITER is in Gemini until Jun 25, 2013. This month he will move from 7 Gemini to 11 Gemini.  You will now feel enthusiastic and exuberant.  A good time to expand your life with education and experiences. Look to the house in your natal chart that holds 7 to 11 degrees of Gemini. This is the area of your life that will experience this expansion.

SATURN is in Scorpio until Dec 24, 2014. This month Saturn is moving retrograde from 11 to 10 degrees.  He turns retrograde this month Feb 18. February 2013 Forecast

A rare occurrence this month is that all the planets are moving in direct motion until Feb 18.  So, you have nothing to blame for your procrastination.

The best news is that Jupiter turned direct on January 30.  He is all about growth, expansion more education and experience.  He is the big, fat, happy planet.  Jupiter has been retrograde since October of last year.  So, since that time we have been seeking meaning from within.  Now we can take what we have learned and expand and access those beliefs. We should all start to feel happier and spread joy to others.  Also, Jupiter is in Gemini the sign of communications.  If you are a writer, you have probably been stalled since October, but that time wasn’t wasted.  You have been internalizing your thoughts.  Now is the time to get them out there.  This is also a good time for sales and jobs in communications.

I have been writing about Neptune which is now in Pisces, the sign that it rules.  It is very strong in this sign and I was predicting great movies to come out since Pisces is the sign of music, theater, film, and dance. Little did I know that I did not wait for great movies to come out because I’m in one and so are you!  I came across these Holographic Universe Workshops describing the fact that WE are living in a multi-dimensional movie -- that the universe is a gigantic hologram and that we and everything in the universe are not three dimensional, solid, material things but projected holograms from the “zero point field.” A phrase often used by some quantum physicists is “there is no there there”.  These videos are based on quantum physics and the speaker, Stephen Davies, goes into metaphysics and personal growth in the last videos.  The metaphors Davis proposes are fascinating and certainly a new way look at reality. The holographic universe is not a new theory, but I believe because of Neptune in Pisces it will become more known and accepted.  Watch these workshops, it is fascinating information and let me know what you think of them and send me an email.

Dates to Watch:

Feb 1 – Mars enters Pisces until March 12.  With the planet of the Warrior in the sign of Peace, it is time to pull in your claws, put your energy into meditation or dance.

            Venus enters Aquarius until February 25.  This is a nice friendly sign for Venus to be in.  During this time she will be more interested in making friends than making whoopee. (is that word used anymore?)

Feb 4 – Mars Conjunct Neptune at 2 degrees of Pisces.  A good day to put your efforts into the arts, yoga, swimming or taking a trip.  Especially good if you have personal Planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the Ascendant at 2 degrees of Pisces

Feb 5 – Mercury enters Pisces until April 14.  Mercury is in Pisces a long time because he turns retrograde on Feb 23. (See Below).  Mercury isn’t happy in this sign, he needs air to breath and he feels he is drowning in Pisces.  His thinking gets all mushy.

Feb 6 – Mercury Conjunct Neptune at 2 degrees of Pisces.  A day to think about how you can escape from all of the mundane sordid mess your life has become.  Too bad this aspect doesn’t last long enough for you to do anything about it.

Feb 7 – Venus Trine Jupiter at 6 Aquarius/Gemini. A good day to socialize, go shopping and hang out with your friends.

Feb 8 – Mercury conjunct Mars at 5 Pisces. Pisces types are usually very sweet, but they can get really angry today especially if one of their personal planets or the ascendant is at 5 Pisces.

Feb 9 – Mercury Square Jupiter at 6 Pisces/Gemini.  Pisces and Gemini are both mutable signs so they have a tendency to take on too much, try to be too many things to too many people. This aspect will heighten that tendency.  If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 6 Pisces/Gemini, try to calm down.

Feb 10 – New Moon at 21 Aquarius.  A good month to get involved with some good social activism.  Aquarius wants to save the world.

            Mars Square Jupiter at 6 Pisces/Gemini.  Mars can get really enraged in a square to Jupiter.  Jupiter expands Mars’ tendency to fight.

Feb 11 – Venus Square Saturn at 11 Aquarius/Scorpio.  This is a cooling off aspect.  Aquarius stays at arms length, Scorpio is game for a little romance, but the square is saying, no.  Don’t even try to buy a valentine today or play kissy face.

Feb 12 – Mercury Trine Saturn at 11 Aquarius/Scorpio.  A good day to get some paperwork done.  Saturn only wants one thing from you and that is work.  If you cooperate with him, he will leave you alone. 

Feb 16 – Mars Trine Saturn at 11 degrees Pisces Scorpio.  A very productive aspect.  Putting your energy into your work will pay off big. Especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 11 degrees of Pisces/Scorpio.

Feb 18 – Sun enters Pisces until March 20.  This Pisces month is a good time to stay in and watch the snow outside the window.  Write poetry, paint and practice on your guitar.

            Saturn turns retrograde until July 8.  Saturn is asking us to look back at our progress. What should we do over?  Have we been true to our commitments?  Are we working hard to establish our careers?  Maybe we should go back and organize our stuff.  Maybe we have been sloppy to get it all together to work on our resume.  Check out Lynn Koiner on Saturn Retrograde.

Feb 21 – Sun Conjunct Neptune at 2 degrees of Pisces.  Your imagination is working overtime.  You can inspire others today.  You are very creative if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 2 Pisces.

Feb 23 – Mercury turns retrograde until March 17.  Take a tip from me if you are a writer.  Drag out all of those old articles and stories you have written over the years and start editing.  You may find some gold among all of that dross.  Mercury Retro is not the bad guy he is made out to be.  It is a good time to go back and rethink some of our decisions made in the past.  Not a good time to purchase mechanical or electronic equipment.

Feb 25 – Full Moon at 7 Virgo.  This full moon is in a square to Jupiter.  We can get overly emotional on this one.

            Sun Square Jupiter at 7 Pisces/Gemini.  There could be some setbacks today, take it in your stride.

            Venus enters Pisces until March 21.  This is a very mushy, co-dependent place for Venus.  We will all feel sensitive and cuddly.

Feb 26 – Mercury Conjunct Mars at 19 Pisces.  You may shoot your mouth off at your boss today, not a good idea.  She will be surprised that you had it in you.

Feb 28 – Venus Conjunct Neptune at 3 Pisces.  This is great for writing poetry, not so good for rational decision making or signing contracts.

January 2013 Forecast

NEWS FLASH: The world didn’t end on the Winter Solstice. The nerd controlling our universe didn’t shut off his computer. Click here for the latest information concerning our universe being inside a computer simulation.

An article I just read states that astronomers have just discovered that there are planets in their sun’s habitable that are about 12 light years away from earth (very close in astronomical distance). Read  here

Taking both of these bits of information into consideration, I have come up with my own theory of why the world didn’t end on 12/21/12.  The Mayans figured out a long time ago that we were in a simulated universe and that some kid on one of those nearby planets built our universe on his laptop.  The Mayans being brilliant mathematicians and cosmic geniuses figured out when this kid’s bedtime was and when he would hit the off button.  Converting space time to our time, they came up with 12/21/12. BUT, what they didn’t figure on was that the kid is a slacker.  He is a little like the Jeff Bridges character in the film, The Big Lebowski.*  So he didn’t go to bed when he should have.

That brilliant Mayan civilization is gone now, so we have no idea how much time we have left.  Will the kid shut the computer down soon or leave it up all night and how does that translate into our time?  Do you understand the angst I am dealing with here?

So I finally gave up worrying about it and decided I might as well enjoy myself and not be so Saturnine during the time we have left  and just focus on things that make me smile.  One is this flash mob that shows joy breaking out all over.

*The Big Lebowski is my favorite movie and has spawned a new philosophy and a lifestyle called Dudeism. There is an online newsletter called the Dudespaper

This year we still have the Uranus Square Pluto to contend with. The major transformation having to do with banking, government and society in general is not over. That square will be exact on May 20 at 11 degrees Aries and Capricorn and again on Nov 1 at 9 degrees Aries/Capricorn. But those planets will be in orb throughout 2013 and the square will be triggered all year when the inner planets hit these sensitive degrees.

Mars is in Aquarius all month.  It is time to end the kind of work you have been doing which was very serious, and concerned with business and finances. It will  become less important to you.  Now it is time to be more independent. Consider leaving that old miserable job in business or the government you have been working at and do your own thing.  Or keep your secure job and explore unconventional, exciting, erratic subjects in your spare time.

Jupiter is in Gemini all month and stays in Gemini until late June,

Overall, this is a serious, practical month.  We will have 4 planets in Capricorn and no sign is more serious than Capricorn.  So I good month to make the changes called for by the Uranus/Pluto square, but Capricorn will give you the courage to make the changes and the changes will be based on grounded, practical concerns.

Dates to Watch:

Jan 3 - Mercury Square Uranus. Mercury is in Capricorn and will conjunct Pluto and Square Uranus between now and the 7th. This may bring news about more rebellion and change here or abroad. Also, what are your serious, practical intentions for 2013. Watch out for rebellious or negative thinking if you have any personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the ascendant at 4 to 9 degrees of Aries or Capricorn.

Jan 4 - Mars Trine Jupiter at 7 Aquarius/Gemini. A lovely aspect. As good as it gets. A good day to start a new project, take some action. Jupiter is promising success especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 7 Aquarius/Gemini.

Jan 6 - Mercury conjunct Pluto. See Jan 3.

Jan 7 - Mars square Saturn at 9 Aquarius/Libra. The gods are putting on the brakes today. No you can’t go out and play, you have to clean your room.

Jan 8 - Venus enters Capricorn. This planet will also Square Uranus on the 12th and conjunct Pluto on the 16th. Venus rules money. So on the world stage there may be conflicts around money and resources and in our personal life we will be questioning our values. How am I spending my energy and my money? How can I help improve the local economy? This may be a difficult aspect in relationships and in values if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 4 to 9 degrees of Aries or Capricorn.

Jan 11 - New Moon at 21 Capricorn at 2:44 PM EST. Mercury is very close to this new moon. We have two lights shining on the Mercury, the mind. A good day to come up with new ideas. This is really the best time to implement your New Year’s resolutions. Astrologically this is the start of the New Year.

Jan 12 - Venus square Uranus at 4 Capricorn/Aries. In relationships this could bring a separation or a temporary parting of the ways.

Jan 16 - Venus conjunct Pluto. A very important day in the financial world. In relationships, there could be a power struggle of some kind. Or on the plus side you could meet an old rich guy.

Jan 18 - Sun Conjunct Mercury at 28 Capricorn. If you have personal planets or the ascendant at 28 Capricorn, this is a day for bright ideas. The sun is shinning a light on your mind and also on the way you express yourself. Yes, even Capricorn can have bright ideas.

Jan 19 - Sun Moves into Aquarius until Feb 18. We have a month of creative thinking, unusual events and weird kind of stuff in general. We can gain more objectivity since Mercury also moves into Aquarius today.

Jan 22 - Mercury Trine Jupiter at 6 Aquarius/Gemini. A good day to plan your financial future and after you have done that a very good day to enjoy taking a class or reading.

Jan 25 - Mercury square Saturn at 11 Aquarius/Scorpio. If you have any personal planets or the ascendant at this location, Saturn is putting on the brakes again. You can’t think of the right word and when you try to remember the name of the movie you just saw to recommend to your friend you start to stutter -- stay home and be quiet today.

    Sun trine Jupiter at 6 Aquarius/Gemini. You feel very confident today and want to tackle one of those difficult books you have been putting off.

    Full Moon at 7 Leo at 11:38 PM.  The Full moon in Leo means we want to have fun. We want to express ourselves and we feel warm and generous. This Full moon is in beneficial alignment with Uranus in Aries and Jupiter in Gemini. Both of these planets want to leave the comfort zone and forge ahead into something new.

January 30 - Sun Square Saturn at 11 Aquarius/Scorpio. You could be disappointed in someone today or your plans didn’t manifest as you had hoped. Wait for a better day to start again.

December 2012 Forecast

Finally the elections are over.  Doesn’t the campaigning go on too long until we are all exhausted and just want it over with?  What I noticed with this election is that a lot of shadow projection was, and is, going on in our nation’s politics.  The shadow is a Jungian term for all the instinctive, irrational and unconscious parts of ourselves The shadow is the negative parts of our personality that were unacceptable to our parents when we were growing up, unacceptable to the society and are unacceptable to us because we want to appear and believe ourselves to not have any negative qualities.  Rage, envy, jealousy and other negative emotions result from shadow material.  The shadow is exemplified by the witch in fairy tales, a way to introduce the shadow to children who love these tales.  These days, of course, the shadow is being portrayed by the vampire, especially in the Twilight Saga and the teenagers are using him for their projections. The jury is sill out whether or not it is healthy for young people to have something to project onto. 

But, back to our election.  We have always had a country to hate and to project our shadow onto.  Japan during World War II and Russia in more recent times Well, we don’t have a country to project onto anymore, so I believe we are projecting onto the candidates.  I have seen each of the candidates demonized by the other. And people around me were terrified that their candidate wouldn’t win.  But we have no idea who these candidates really are or what they would do if elected. In the past, they have acted contrary to what we were led to believe about them.  For example, when Romney was governor of Massachusetts, he was pro-choice and pro-universal health care.  Obama in his last term passed a National Defense Authorization Act which to me is the end of Democracy as we know it. It basically makes our country a place where any citizen can be detained indefinitely without a trial and without due process.  I’m sure this act will be used against the Occupiers. All we do know about these candidates is what the media tells us. Even though we now have hundreds of TV stations, so that it appears that we have a choice where we are getting our information, the major TV stations are all owned by only 6 Corporations. There is a similar situation with our major newspapers.  So we only know the candidates by what the major Corporations tell us.  And then we have the Commission on Presidential Debates which was set up by the Democratic and Republican parties in 1987, to make sure there was no TV exposure for any third party. I wanted to see Jill Stein, the green party candidate debate Romney and Obama. Fat Chance!

I must say here that I am very happy that the Creepy Anti-Choice, Legitimate Rape guys got defeated. There are all Republicans, but if Romney won the election, would he have aligned with these creeps? As Woody Allen said in one of his movies, it is all a travesty and a sham, a sham and a travesty

PS:  Just heard today, Nov 30, that Sen Dianne Feinstein and Mike lee have introduced an Amendment to the NDAA to protect American citizens against indefinite detention.  I hope it passes.

Sorry for this rant.  Let’s go on to something more pleasant like the end of the world.

This is the month of the dreaded or eagerly awaited Winter Solstice of 2012; the end of the Mayan Long Count. Or if you have Saturn and Capricorn in your chart as I do than you don’t believe any of it!]

Dec 11 - Mercury Square Neptune.  Don’t travel today, you may lose your luggage.  You are not playing with a full deck.  Confusion and deceit is the name of the game.

Dec 13 – New Moon at 21 Sagittarius.  This New Moon heralds the start of more energy, freedom and a desire to be up and doing. It calls for action.

            Uranus turns Direct at 4 degrees Aries.  While Uranus has been retrograde (since July 2012), he was still making changes, but they were behind the scenes.  We had no idea what he was up to.  Now we will see these changes manifest on a global scale.  Maybe our government will start to do some real work.  Stranger things have happened.  The revolutions around the world may get more intense.  You may feel a bit rebellious yourself if you have any personal planets (Sun, Mercury, Moon, Venus or Mars) or the Ascendant at 4 Aries/Libra.

Dec 14 – Mercury Trine Uranus.  Mercury is helping Uranus make the radical changes he wants to make now that he is direct.  On a personal level this is a great time to write some outrageous blog posts.

Dec 15 – Venus enters Sagittarius until January 8, 2013.  Venus has been in Scorpio since Thanksgiving.  So we were mired down in all kinds of emotional crap.  Now Venus can do what she does best, flirt, and flit around and not fall into any boring commitments.

Dec 16 – Venus Square Neptune. You may be too timid on this one.  Maybe you are a pushover because you want everyone to be “nice” and get along.  And you want so much to be loved that you will sacrifice your individual feelings.

Dec 17 – Mercury Opposite Jupiter.  Today you may be talking your head off,bragging about what a great guy/girl you are.  Seriously, no one wants to hear it - back off.

Dec 19 – Venus Trine Uranus.  This is a nice aspect.  You can go out and see some beautiful paintings, hear pleasing music and have fun with your friends.

Dec 21 – Sun enters Capricorn until January 19, 2013. The Winter Solstice.

So the story goes that on this date the Sun aligns with the center of the Milky Way Galaxy exactly for the first time in 26,000 years. The energy from the center of the galaxy is streaming into our energy field.

Dec 22 – Venus Opposite Jupiter. A day for extravagance and excess.  Don’t eat that second donut.  In one day, you could gain all the weight back that you lost over the last month.

Dec 25 – Mars enters Aquarius until Feb 1, 2013. Mars in Aquarius likes to save the world.  He wants to get involved in social action.  Usually Mars is all about “me”, but in this placement he turns his thoughts to the world and what he can do about the many problems we have now.

Dec 28, 2012 – Full Moon at 7 Cancer. This Full Moon has the Sun conjunct Pluto.  Pluto wants to transform our structures by first destroying what we have built us and then rebuilding -- regeneration is the word.  This Full Moon may find you very emotional and dealing with lots of past grief, hurts and pain.

Dec 31 – Mercury enters Capricorn until Jan 18, 2013. Mercury in Capricorn is very serious.  He just wants to talk about business, old ideas, old stuff.  Good time to go antiquing.  

OUTER PLANET TRANSITS 

JUPITER is in Gemini until Aug 27, 2013. This month Jupiter is moving retrograde and will move from 11 Gemini to 7 Gemini. During the retrograde, your plans for expansion may slow down. You don’t feel as exuberant as you did.  Look to the house in your natal chart that holds 7 to 11 Gemini. In this area of your life you may feel limited during the retrograde.

SATURN is in Scorpio until Dec 24, 2014. This month Saturn moves from 6 to 9 of Scorpio.  If you have the Ascendant or any personal planets at 6 to 9 degrees of Scorpio or Taurus in your natal chart, you may be in store for some hard lessons around the issues ruled by the planet and the house the planet is in or rules. Scorpio rules passion, sex and depths of all kinds and Saturn may ask you to take on more responsibility for how you control your rage and psychological expression. 

URANUS is in Aries until 2018.  This month Uranus is still retrograde until Dec 13 when he starts moving direct.  He will stay at 4 degrees all month.  We all feel a need to rebel; we want more freedom and want to make some radical changes in our life.  I believe in “cooperating with the inevitable”.  If you have Uranus in a challenging aspect to your ascendant or personal planets, go on a long vacation, move, or make some major changes in your life.
 
NEPTUNE (creativity, sensitivity, escapism, dreams) has just moved into Pisces until 2026. This month Neptune is moving from 0  to 1 degree of Pisces all month.  A lack of focus, a sense of drifting or an inability to see a betrayal or disappointment until it's too late can be experienced by those of you with the Sun or Personal Planets at 0 or 1 degree of Pisces or Virgo.  For the enlightened out there, Neptune can also bring artistic, musical, creative expression, increased dreams and spiritual insights. 

PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2023.  This month Pluto will move from 8 to 9 degrees of Capricorn all month. Everyone is feeling the urge to purge and to find his or her truth.  Profound changes will be felt especially by those with Sun, Ascendant or personal planets at 8 or 9 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer.

November 2012 Eclipses

We have a total Solar Eclipse on Nov 13 and a Partial Lunar Eclipse on November 28.

This month the eclipses are about to shift into a new set of signs, moving gradually away from Gemini-Sagittarius into Scorpio-Taurus.  So Gemini and Sagittarians have made their changes and are now in a period of adjustment to their new conditions.  Now it is time for Taurus and Scorpio to make some changes.  BUT and it is a huge BUT, Gemini/Sagitarius are mutable signs and it is far easier for them to make changes than for Taurus and Scorpio types.  They are fixed signs and tend to hold on to things come hell or high water (which we have had in abundance here on the East Coast).

The ancients believed that during an eclipse, the "mighty will fall". They appear often in the mythology of different cultures most often as symbols of obliteration, fear, and the overthrow of the natural order of things. Eclipses were the great omens of fated, large-scale events. The word eclipse comes from a Greek word meaning "abandonment." Quite literally, an eclipse was seen as the Sun abandoning the earth.

Every six months, eclipses show the turning points in our lives. They indicate what we are to accomplish for the following 6 months to 3 years. They bring in news and events that are sometimes "out of the blue". Time seems to speed up. In a positive sense, eclipses can clear what may obscure the way forward. Remember that the key words for eclipses are emphasis and crisis.  Eclipses are contrary to the status quo. If impacted by one of these eclipses, your life will not run on the same track it has been on. But that can be a good thing.

The eclipse of the Sun has been traditionally viewed with dread over the ages, as the Sun seems to disappear from the sky. It gets dark in the middle of the day and it seems as if something dreadful is about to happen. Solar Eclipses tend to relate to sudden events that disrupt our day to day functioning; they are the crisis that seems to come out of nowhere and that suddenly demand all of our conscious attention and focus. They tend to stir things up on a physical and conscious level much more than Lunar Eclipses.

The way to figure out whether or not an eclipse will be positive or challenging, is to look at the aspects that the eclipse is making to other planets in the sky, and also to the planets they are aspecting in your natal chart.

Total Solar Eclipse on Nov 13 at 22 Degrees of Scorpio at 5:08 PM EST

We haven’t had eclipses in Scorpio for at least 9 or so years.  Eclipses speed things up.  Because this eclipse is in Scorpio, it will stir up all kinds of deep, dark secrets, desires and emotions.   Scorpio rules the underworld and all lthings hidden from view.

If one of your personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars) or the ascendant is at 19 to 25 degrees of Taurus or Scorpio this eclipse will be important and make an impact in your life. It will mean the end of one set of circumstances and the beginning of another. Let go.  Scorpio will replace what is taken away. Some view eclipses as release and renewal points and this is especially true of Scorpio. 

Look back to see what happened on Nov 13, 1993 and the following 6 months. The eclipses repeat at the same degree of the zodiac every 19 years.   A Solar Eclipse can bring an ending in the direction in our life and open a door to another realm.  Remember, Solar Eclipses are always very powerful times to meditate. Send out your intention of what you want to manifest over the next six months. A Solar Eclipse always occurs during a New Moon and New Moons are important because they bring in new, fresh energy. 

Lunar Eclipse on Nov 28 at 6 degrees of Gemini at 9:46 AM EST

There is a Mars-Pluto conjunction at the same time as the Gemini Lunar Eclipse  This is a power combination, watch out for compulsive behavior especially if this eclipse hits a personal planet in your natal chart of your ascendant.  

This Eclipse affects two signs; Gemini and Sagittarius.  The sign of Gemini rules writing, teaching, lectures, the media and all forms of communications.  We may see the death of a renowned writer or professor.  There will be more news about who owns information.  Sagittarius rules foreign countries, the law and higher education. This eclipse could bring up more news items about how we communicate with foreign countries. What laws we have to put in place to protect information. 

Look back to Nov 29, 1993 and the following 6 months to see what affect an eclipse at this degree has on you.

The Lunar Eclipse gives us opportunities to break out of our current cycles and move on to a different level.  A Lunar Eclipse can make us more aware of our cycles and patterns, and our unconscious motivations. Lunar Eclipses can bring up old memories and feelings.  As a full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse tends to bring completion or endings. On a Lunar Eclipse something will end and on a Solar Eclipse something will begin. A Lunar Eclipse is an opportunity to break habits or eliminate socially conditioned patterns of thought and behavior that stand in the way of self realization.

Full moon eclipses can bring things to completion that you have been working on. You can finally make decisions about issues that you have been thinking about. The Sun opposite the Moon, lights up the Moon and brings previously unexamined areas of your life into awareness. 

Lunar Eclipses are more emotional than Solar Eclipses.  Because a Lunar Eclipse only happens on a full moon, two houses in your natal chart will be affected. 

This Lunar Eclipse will affect you if you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and/or Mars) or the ascendant at 3 to 9 degrees of Sagittarius/Gemini.

An eclipse tends to emphasize matters related to the house it falls in on your natal chart or what planets it conjuncts, or opposes.  The areas ruled by the houses or planets will demand more attention, thought, energy, and time from you, at least until the next Eclipse. Eclipses open doors and invite us to come in, illuminating and stimulating areas of our lives that need our attention

November 2012 Forecast

I am heartbroken because of Hurricane Sandy.  My favorite place in the world is the barrier islands of southern New Jersey.  We went every year and stayed for a month.  I hesitated to buy property there because of the global warming forecast that hurricanes would be much more powerful and destructive in the future because of the rise in the ocean levels.  So I am glad that I didn’t buy on the barrier island, but it is sad to see the pictures of Ocean City streets, homes and the amusement park damaged or destroyed.

I think the most important news that trumps the upcoming election and hurricane Sandy is the news that there is more evidence that the world we live in is a computer simulation. Some nerd somewhere has created our world on his computer and we think it is real!  I think knowing we are all in a Sim City computer game relieves a lot of stress.  Think about it!  Read Huffington Post

The nerd that created me has installed a bug in my DNA that keeps me looking at the stars. Oh Well!  Here we go.  November will be a busy month because of two eclipses and Mercury turning retrograde on Nov 6.

Those of you with planets at 5 to 8 degrees of cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn) are probably exhausted by now trying to keep the Uranus/Pluto transformative, rebellious energies at bay in your life.  Well, it ain’t over yet for you.  For the first 3 days of Nov., Venus will be opposing and squaring the Pluto/Uranus aspect and then Mars conjuncts Pluto on Nov 27.  Venus and Mars moving into the Pluto/Uranus square increases the impact of the square.  So whatever you have been dealing with will have more energy especially around your relationships and your work.

Nov 11 – Neptune turns direct at 0 Pisces.  A very confusing day for those of you with personal planets or the ascendant at 28 Aquarius through 2 Pisces.

Nov 13 – Solar Eclipse at 21 Scorpio.  I will be sending an eclipse report out covering this eclipse and the lunar eclipse of Nov 28. 

            Mercury Square Neptune.  Your thinking is still screwy.

Nov 14 – Mercury enters Scorpio until Dec 10.  When Mercury (our mind) enters the suspicious sign of Scorpio, we all get a little paranoid.  It is a good placement for doing research or reading mysteries.

Nov 16 – Mars enters Capricorn until 25 December. Mars is very grounded in Capricorn.  It is time to put your energy into your career and to build a good foundation for the future.

Nov 17 – Sun conjunct Mercury.  A favorable time for a trip and also a good time to dig into those difficult novels you have meant to read.  Try Balzac.  Good ahead, you can do it.

Nov 21 – Sun enters Sagittarius until Dec 21.  During this month we get restless with an itch to travel. 

            Venus enters Scorpio until Dec 15.  Our love life gets way more intense now.  We won’t settle for the namby pamby kinda guys we have been hanging out with.  We want the dark, dangerous type now.

Nov 22 – Sun square Neptune at 0 Sagittarius/Pisces.  We are feeling very idealistic today.  We can make some really wrong decisions especially if you have personal planets or the ascendant at 9 Sagittarius or Pisces

            Venus trine Neptune.  This is a pleasant aspect, very good for any artistic work and for decorating your home.

Nov 23 – Mars square Uranus at 4 Capricorn/Aries.  Our energy is erratic today, watch out for accidents.  You have a tendency to drive too fast today.

Nov 26 – Sun Trine Uranus.  And exciting time.  A fun party is on tap for today.

            Mercury turns direct at 8 degrees of Scorpio.  Finally Mercury is moving direct. You can finally do your Xmas shopping and move ahead in business.

            Venus conjunct Saturn at 6 Scorpio.  We get very serious today about our relationships.  We want to make a long term commitment.

Nov 27 – Mars conjunct Pluto at 7 Capricorn.  We are very hard-headed today, no one can tell us anything.  We know it all.  Again those of you with 5 to 8 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn are especially stubborn,  unmovable and unreasonable.

Nov 28 – Lunar Eclipse at 6 Gemini.  This is a more emotional eclipse than the one on Nov 13.  I will write more about this eclipse in my eclipse article.

October 2012 Forecast

The Full Moon of Sep 29 at 7 Aries created a T-Square (3 planets square each other) with the Uranus/Pluto square.  A lot of folks out there have been going thru trauma.  It is still in effect until 4 days and after that Full Moon.  When will this Uranus/Pluto thing end?  Not until 2015 I’m afraid.  Maybe we all need to let go, and let God.  Never thought I would be thinking that way, but this Pluto/Uranus Square has hit me and the people around me pretty hard.

Is there any good news, yes I think we will come out the other end of this on a higher psychologically conscious level than we are now.  We would have learned a lot about who we are, what we really need to be happy and how to work together.  That is the way it happens in the charts of the people I consult, Pluto is death and rebirth and there is a rebirth when the transit is over and Uranus brings shocks and separations, but most of the time (not always) it gets rid of things or people you no longer need.

This month we have Jupiter turning retrograde on Oct 4 and Saturn entering Scorpio on Oct 5. 

Dates to Watch:

Oct 3 – Venus moves into Virgo until Oct 28.  Normally Venus can be kinda sleazy, but in Virgo, she starts to put on the high-collared white blouse and long skirt and pretend it’s 1890’s.  We will all feel so prim and proper during this transit.   We want to ring the bell for the downstairs maid to bring us some tea.  And we don’t want to get down and dirty and go to a Irish Pub and sling down some ale with the guys.  Wait for Venus to move into Scorpio for that sort of behavior, tsk-tsk.

            Venus opposite Neptune.  You are a little confused about your relationships and about how much money you have in the bank and if you are overdrawn or if your mate is telling the truth.  Be careful of being deceived, you are not thinking straight about love or money and what else is there?

Oct 4 – Jupiter turns Retrograde at 16 Gemini and stays retrograde until January 13, 2013.  For more info, read Lynn Koiner on Jupiter Retrograde

Oct 5 – Saturn enters Scorpio until December 2014.  Look for the house in your natal chart that contains Scorpio.  Saturn will reside in that house for 2 12 years. This is the area of life that will demand our attention.  We will be willing to take a hard realistic look at how we are handling this area. Saturn will demand patience and acceptance in those matters that have not worked out so well for us.  It is at this time that Saturn’s most important lesson come forward.  When Saturn was in Libra the lessons were around marriage and on the national scene the gay marriage debate asked us to define marriage.

Now Scorpio is about taxes and other people’s money.  Scorpio rules Power, Saturn rules Government and Business structures.  At this time we will learn about who has the power in our society.  Scorpio also rules foundations and grants.  Finally it rules Psychology because it covers transformation, not only on the physical level but also on the mental/emotional level.  Expect to see more self-help books.

            Mercury Conjunct Saturn.  Pay attention to the details even though you are feeling a little depressed and what to end it all.  Think of all those people out there with Mercury in Capricorn, they feel like this all the time.

            Mercury Enters Scorpio until Oct 29.  We start to have fanatical strong opinions on this one and become an interrogator trying to pry others secrets from them.

            Venus Trine Neptune.  This is a great aspect for decorating your home.  Dig out all those paintings from the attic that you have been too lazy to frame and hang up.

Oct 6 – Mars enters Sagittarius until Nov 16, 2012.  Mars the planet of sex gets a little randy in this sign.  You want to kid around, travel, and go on an adventure.  You set a goal and go for it, but sometimes you forget the people you leave in the dust.  Be a little more considerate.

Oct 7 – Mars Square Neptune.  Be careful of your actions today, they may not be on the up and up.  You may unintentionally deceive someone.

Oct 9 – Sun Trine Jupiter.  This can bring in financial and educational opportunities but you have to be alert to the possibilities and go for it.

            Venus Trine Pluto.  This is a day for deepening all of your relationships.  Also a good day for investing.

Oct 10 – Saturn Trine Neptune.  I think when Saturn and Neptune pair up in a good aspect it is a very creative AND productive time. Take advantage of this day.

Oct 15 – New Moon at 22 Libra at 8:03:00 AM EDT.  The start of a new month.  Get busy and plant seeds of what you want to see in the coming month.

            Mars Trine Uranus.  It is time to think about the future and also to let your thinking and planning go into areas it has never gone before.

Oct 16 – Venus Square Jupiter.  Personal matters are upsetting.  Wait awhile before making a decision.  You may overreact.

Oct 22 – Sun enters Scorpio until Nov 21, 2012.  This is the month of darkness descending, Halloween and a time the vampires come out. 

Oct 23 – Sun Trine Neptune.  This stimulates your idealism.  Go out and support your political choice, the one with character and integrity, heh, heh.

Oct 25 – Sun Conjunct Saturn.   You feel restricted today. Concentrate on a difficult task.  Not a good time to try to spread your wings.

Oct 28 – Mars Opposite Jupiter. You may take a big risk today that will not pay off.Watch out for extravagant claims.

            Venus enters Libra until Nov 21, 2012.  Venus is right at home in Libra.  We will be feeling romantic and begin looking for that significant other.

Oct 29 – Full Moon at 6 Taurus at 3:39 PM EDT.  This is the culmination of things begun at the New Moon of October 15.

            Mercury Square Neptune.  I was born with this aspect.  It causes spaciness and ADD episodes.  So if you are confused and kinda ditsy today, realize that I am like this all the time.

PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2023.  This month Pluto has just started to move direct and will stay at 7 degrees of Capricorn all month. Everyone is feeling the urge to purge and to find his or her truth.  Profound changes will be felt especially by those with Sun, Ascendant or personal planets at 7 degrees of Capricorn or Cancer.
